Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast

102 Rembert Street , Natchez, 39120 USA (Show map)

About

Sunnyside was built in 1852 by William Watkins, a Methodist minister from South Louisiana. This hidden gem is a beautiful 5500+ square foot antebellum cottage situated on 10 acres in downtown Natchez, Mississippi. After many years of neglect, the home and gardens are being restored to their original grandeur and opened to the public for the first time. The owners have lavishly appointed this home with fine furniture and art to make it exquisite yet comfortable and inviting. During your stay, you will be greeted by Mae, our artist in residence and she is a real "DOLL". You will share Sunnyside with our two small dogs, Lily and Roxy, and our cat LuLu. Garage parking is available for our guests traveling on motorcycles. We do not offer televisions in our rooms but feel free to watch in the library. The walls are solid brick; therefore, WI-FI is only available in select areas of the home. We want you to relax during your stay, this is a getaway!

Wonderful retreat!

4.4 on June 10, 2018

We enjoyed a wonderful two-night anniversary retreat at Sunnyside. The home is amazingly full of incredible and unique antiques. Colleen is such a warm and gracious hostess. She made us feel like family members or treasured friends. Our room was comfortable and quiet. No TV in the bedroom made for a truly relaxing stay; we did not miss it at all. We enjoyed a stroll through the garden area and delightful evening conversations with Colleen. She outdid herself with breakfast each morning. The servings were generous and the food absolutely delicious, from the breakfast casserole to the homemade muffins/cake/pastries. We would definitely recommend Sunnyside for an experience that is unique and memorable.

Wonderful place to stay in Natchez!

I could not wait to stay at Sunnyside after I found out it was a bed and breakfast! Natchez is one of my favorite places to go since childhood, many fond memories of holidays and relatives overwhelm me as I drive into town. Most of my relatives are gone, but I felt right at home at Sunnyside, with Colleen as our hostess. The rooms are beautifully decorated with her collection of art and antiques. I slept very comfortably in the Josephine Suite. Our breakfast was delicious. The grounds are very pretty for a stroll through the gardens of roses, Magnolias, and many other colorful flowers. Convenient to downtown, yet you feel miles away. Colleen is so accommodating, you will feel as if she is family. We will be back! Ellen Talbot Johnson City Texas

Great Place to Stay in a Great City

5 on April 02, 2018

My wife and I have been touring old homes from time to time for the past 30 years. I don't know how we made it this long without visiting Natchez, MS which is the Mecca of historic southern homes. Our stay at the Sunnyside B & B was very enjoyable. From Coleen's greeting at the door until we drove out the driveway for the last time, we were treated like old friends. Coleen has developed Sunnyside in a different manner than most of the other old home B & Bs in Natchez. She has made it a museum to her taste in art and furniture which makes it truly unique. The breakfasts were wonderful and more than even I, who can eat a lot, could eat. The most impressive aspect of our spring visit was the azaleas on the property. They were the most beautiful that I have ever seen. I highly recommend that you choose Sunnyside for your stay in Natchez.
