We had a fantastic time! Our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. You can tell the owners put a lot of love in the two houses. The breakfast the next morning was delicious. They also had a Tesla charger which was one of the reasons why we chose the B&B. Glad we did. First class!!!!

We loved our stay at The Devereaux Shields House. It’s like taking a step back in time with modern conveniences. The home itself is beautiful. Owners live on site. We stayed in the gallery suite for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed! The small little touches made us feel right at home. Fresh coffee/tea every morning on balcony, meet and greet every day, gardens are serene, soft, comfortable robes, special labeled linens, and breakfast was delivious! After the first day, I felt like I had known the owners, Ron and Eleanor my whole life. Very accurate depiction of true “Southern Hospitality”. I cannot wait to visit them again!

We stayed in the Elmo room, and the room was beautiful, and very comfortable. The 1st night was freezing, and the 2nd night burning up. Individual room controls would solve that. The low breakfast rating was due to temperature of the food. Fresh fruit was cold, but all other food was cold as well. I expected a better variety of a “hot breakfast”. The staff was friendly and professional and very accommodating.
Dear Guests, We are humbly sorry you seemed to experience uncommon combination of uncomfortable circumstances as another guest during this timeframe. Our weather this time of year often sees us adjusting the Heat and A/C to maintain comfortable environments in our homes. Our homes do have zonal-controls, but recently we have noticed that some guests have been defeating the control locks and altering our settings producing conditions you experienced. Our room books, which we highlight during room checkins, do contain multiple telephone numbers guests may use to contact us for needs such as uncomfortable conditions. We did not receive any such calls. We pride ourselves on providing guests a wonderful 3-course breakfast, including fresh-cut fruit, an entrée with sides of southern grits or potatoes and side meats, and baked-goods, pastry or toast accompanied by local jams & butter. We are training a new cook who we’ve recently learned was preparing all plates well before they were served to the guests in the dining room. We apologize this practice occurred and have reminded our cook of our standard practice of plating of food just prior to being served. Some additions are coming to our breakfasts in the future to include more early- and late-riser choices. We welcome your return and we will insure you receive our customary Victorian Southern Comfort Experience. Kind Regards, Ron & Eleanor Owners/Innkeepers

Our two-night stay at Devereaux Shields House was perfect. Ron and Eleanor are gracious hosts. Their lodgings are immaculate, comfortable and charming. We enjoyed the late afternoon wine and cheese reception where we talked with other guests and learned about Natchez from Ron. Breakfasts were delicious and served by cheerful, knowledgeable staff. We will definitely stay here next time we travel south from Ohio.

This was our first stay at a B&B and it was wonderful. Ron and Eleanor are the perfect hosts and were a wealth of information and suggestions as this was also our first visit to Natchez. We would most definitely stay here again if we are ever back this way.

This was our first stay in Natchez, MS and my husband and I had the most relaxing weekend in ages here. The B & B was cozy and quiet and the breakfasts served to our dietary needs. The innkeepers were available and accommodating to our questions before and after arrival. It truly felt like more than two days and we went home refreshed and full of holiday cheer. We would book (and recommend) this accommodation again.

My first visit to Natchez, but a friend had recommended Ron and Eleanor's Devereaux Shields House. I stayed three nights in the Rose Suite in the main house. I had expert guidance to the best restaurants for dinner, excellent breakfasts, a lovely and restful suite and charming hosts. Look forward to my next visit.
