Aunt Dot's Luxurious Beachfront B&B

222 N Beach Blvd , Bay Saint Louis, MS 39520 USA (Show map)

Aunt Dot’s Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful home located on the beach in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. It is one of the few true American Cottages still in existance. Guests at Aunt Dot’s enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay, the bridge, and the new full service marina. Our guests boast of serenity and the feel of being at home. We are all about attention to detail and catering to the needs of our guests. Built in 1840, the home was recently restored to historic specifications. Rooms throughout are filled with family antiques and heirlooms. The house has been part of our family for almost 100 years and is named for my aunt, Dorothy Simons Phillips. Aunt Dorothy, or “Aunt Dot” as we called her, was a wonderful hostess and cook. As a tribute to Aunt Dot, we continue her tradition of warmth and hospitality. When you stay with us, you’ll enjoy breakfast in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon. You’ll want to take a short walk west along Beach Boulevard to Main Street. Along the way, you’ll pass the finest dining Bay St. Louis has to offer. Turning up Main Street, you’ll find unique businesses and art galleries on both sides of the street.

Southern Charm and Hospitality at Its Best

5 on May 13, 2018

Aunt Dot’s Bed & Breakfast exemplifies true southern hospitality and charm. Built in the 1840s, this gem includes exquisite antiques, original wooden floors and doors, and spacious rooms with modern conveniences. Sally and Joel are personable hostesses with a wealth of knowledge of history and recommendations on what to see and do during the day and evenings on the Gulf Coast. However, my husband and I found it difficult to leave the front porch, which faces the water and beach. We enjoyed sipping wine on the porch in the evenings and watching sunsets and waking up with coffee and the most beautiful sunrises. We also enjoyed walking a short distance down Beach Boulevard to dine and shop in charming shops, all very reasonably priced. Joel and Sally served a scrumptious breakfast on beautiful china in a lovely dining room. I would like to thank these two for making Mother’s Day special and memorable. My husband and I are looking forward to future trips to Bay St. Louis and staying at Aunt Dot’s B&B!

This B&B is a wonderful place to stay. The owners will make you feel very welcome. The breakfast was great and the accommodations were lovely. The house is full of historic charm, beautiful antiques and furnishings. The caretakers Sally and Joel are very knowledgeable and are willing to tell you all about the history and restoration of the house following Hurricane Katrina. The views from the porch are breathtaking. Everything is within walking distance, all the local shops and restaurants are only a block away. I would highly recommend staying here.

Aunt Dot’s - the jewel of the gulf coast

5 on April 04, 2018

Aunt Dot’s is exquisite. It has been beautifully restored post-Katrina and is truly unique in this area. My husband and I stayed in the front suite which has 2 beautifully appointed bedrooms and a private bathroom. Sally and Joel were fine hosts and had in depth knowledge of the history of the area and the house. Breakfasts were very nice. The front porch is delightful at any time of the day and the shared Mississippi room is quite beautiful and comfortable. The home is in a great location, right on the beach road so the view is spectacular and is near restaurants, bars, and shops. I highly recommend Aunt Dot’s.

Great for extended family with young children

5 on March 21, 2018

Aunt Dot’s was perfect for my wife and me along with my daughter’s family of five including three granddaughters under 6. I knew it would be great when I woke up to find the little ones wrapped up in blanks sitting on the porch overlooking the bay and conversing with Joel. Lots of historical points of interest about this wonderful old house and its furnishings. And Joel and Sally weren’t the least bit concerned about the rambunctousness of the girls. We will definitely return.

Wonderful Experience in Historic Home by the Water

5 on March 15, 2018

Sally and Joel are fabulous hosts. We had a great time as guests at Aunt Dot's B & B. The house was spotless, and the room was just as described. The breakfast represented the best of Southern cooking. It was such a treat to stay in this historic nineteenth century building that withstood most of the ravages of Hurricane Katrina and has been lovingly restored to its antebellum glory. The location couldn't have been better--great waterfront view and near all the shops and restaurants of Bay St. Louis. Highly recommend! Maggie L.
