Our traveling book club makes a point of staying in unique places at beautiful locations but even we were unprepared for the Carma and John Experience. They've lovingly restored the lodge and these cabins to reflect the historic quality of Nevada & Virginia City, but it's by no means primitive. Take a walk around the 'back 40' and see the awesome lay of the land, encounter wildlife, pitch horseshoes and horseballs (it's a Montana thing), or soak in the hot tub, anytime, all the time. Then there's breakfast... Oh, man, it's scrumptious. Their home is your home while you're there and you couldn't imagine better hosts. Thanks, John, for your sly sense of humor, amazing mustache, and accommodation of "the puzzle table." Thanks, Carma, for your history of the area, sparkling personality, and incredible handshake. We're definitely coming back!

Our cabin accommodation was so cute. For its location, price and amount of space we were very pleased. It was quiet and relaxing. The owners were very friendly and knew a lot about the area and gave great recommendations for the attractions we were interested in. The breakfast was a cooked breakfast, not just a muffin. Care was given to people with dietary needs, likes and dislikes. Thank you John and Carma!.

We had just lost our beloved pet of almost 16 years, and needed to get away. We rented Cabin 2. Not only was this the best cabin we have ever stayed in, but Carma's wonderful breakfasts are the best we have eaten since returning to live in Montana. Carma and John helped us to heal. We had such wonderful conversations, and laughed about our life experiences. The cabin has everything you could possibly need to have a home away from home stay, and backs up to beautiful scenery. We enjoyed using the gas grill provided. Thank you again, Carma and John!

Our family called on short notice to stay indoors after a long camping trip. The water was hot, the shower was clean, the kitchen was supplied with all utensils and cookware we needed. The bedding was freshly cleaned, the TV remote worked well, and we borrowed a DVD movie from our hosts video library. Cabin furnishings were comfy, like home. Decoration and design included beautiful trophy antlers, the log cabin walls were well chinked and we were warm and happy. Carma's breakfast was beautiful, coffee of very high quality, and they even had maps and postcards and geologic mementos for us rock hounds! As we left, we found our oil was low and John offered to help us. He was consistently a gentleman, gracious and helpful. If we lived there, we'd be happy to have them as neighbors!

On our 25th wedding anniversary, we have had several, my wife wanted someplace fun, and I wanted someplace with interesting history. what could be more exciting than the vigilantes and highway men in the ole west. John and Carma were perfect as well as the best historians, cooks, and hosts. Don't miss this spot, you will regret it.

My family (2 adults and 2 children) stayed here over a weekend in August, and it was just perfect. We took one of the cabins with a loft, which gave the kids a space apart from us, and away from other guests when they got too unruly! ;) It was a good size, and have all the amenities we needed. John and Carma were the perfect hosts, and the breakfasts were great. It was nice to chat with the other guests, which was encouraged as we all sat on the back porch and enjoyed each other's company. If we get the chance to be in the area again, we will definitely stay here again! Thanks John and Carma!
