Welcome to the Inn on Crescent Lake, located in historic Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Only 30 miles from downtown Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City International Airport, the Inn is perfectly situated for a relaxing weekend getaway and provides an excellent lodging alternative to business travelers. The stately three-story 1915 Georgian Colonial mansion sits on 22 acres and is surrounded by two crescent-shaped ponds, historically known as Crescent Lake. The Inn was meticulously renovated in 1997. While the architectural integrity of the Inn was preserved, all of the rooms were completely modernized.

We spent 1 evening at the Inn and it was charming. We had to arrive late and the Inn Keepers made arrangements for us that were very easy and convenient. We stayed in the Crescent room that was spacious and romantic. Honestly the pictures on the web don't do this room justice! Breakfast was very good in the sun room and we followed that with a paddle boat trip around the lake. We will plan to visit again but will make sure to leave more time to enjoy the Inn next go around!

This Inn is everything we expected. Beautiful property and mansion with wonderful hosts. My wife and I had an excellent stay, very relaxing and peaceful. Looking forward to another opportunity to visit. The perfect getaway. You do have to go out for dinner but there are many options available within reasonable distance. Breakfast was fantastic.

We always stay at bed and breakfast when we travel and usually have a good experience. The Inn outdid itself! The room was bright and clean, the bathroom was more than adequate, the food was outstanding and the hosts, Beverly and Craig, made us feel right at home. From the initial tour to the final good bye, Beverly and Craig made it seem like we were their only guests. Could not have had more charming hosts...they literally offered me the coat off their back cause it got so cold the first night. The boat was good, fishing was great, the grounds were well manicured and very peaceful. A well rested weekend away. Thank you!

We picked the ideal time to go as the weather was ideal. We enjoy the boat and the character of the home. Purchased the anniversary package and it was waiting in the room for us which was nice. Room appeared to be clean, except for the cobweb. Breakfast was not what I was expecting. I was expecting food made from scratch but this appeared to be more processed food then homemade. The hashbrown pattie, sausage and biscuits were not homemade. The coffee came in a little carafe that only gave you each a cup. Would of enjoyed a larger carafe to enjoy more coffee, but we were able to get an additional cup downstairs. Was a nice, though quick trip. Just was not all I expected for the price.

My wife set up a night for us for my birthday. It was the best birthday I've had in a long time. The inn is beautiful and the hosts are superb. If you want a good place for a birthday for your SO then this is a great place. They give you a birthday cake, flowers, balloons and in room breakfast, which was excellent. I highly recommend this bnb.

Between the hospitality, scenery, cleanliness, and the outstanding food and services, this made our 9th anniversary very romantic and serene. Highly recommended. I will definitely be returning.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and plan to return next year for our 4th anniversary. The home is hand crafted inside and out with attention to detail. After our stay we didn't want to return home to our four children. We will recommend this to our friends and family¿¿
The Cottage is a large private bungalow that offers a feeling of warmth and tranquility to anyone traveling to the area or those looking for a reasonable vacation rental for their Missouri getaway. The building originally was the estate’s carriage house. It now is a romantic two-story bungalow that will be your “home away from home.” The first floor includes a kitchen, dining area, a tile-topped breakfast bar, half-bath, and cozy living room. Kitchen amenities include a microwave, coffee maker, and full-size refrigerator. (Please note: For guest safety, no cooking capabilities are available in the Cottage.) The second floor features original hardwood floors, a king-sized bed, sitting area, an two-person Jacuzzi tub, and custom walk-in shower. Each level offers a TV, with a DVD player on the first level.Guests who stay in the Cottage may choose to have breakfast delivered at no additional fee or be served breakfast in the inn’s sun-drenched solarium.
This two-room suite at the Inn on Crescent Lake provides the ultimate in privacy and seclusion with its location in the Pool House. Beautiful views of the lake and pool, a vaulted ceiling, and Tuscan decor combine to create the feeling of being in your own personal European paradise. The king-sized bed is quite comfortable and the in-room two-person corner Jacuzzi tub is spacious. This room also offers a mini-fridge for convenience. In the bathroom’s sitting area, you can enjoy reading a book on the futon that looks out over the lake. The large walk-in shower provides a most relaxing experience. The Tuscany also has its own parking space just steps from the room’s entry.
Perhaps the most intriguing and eclectic space that we offer at the Inn on Crescent Lake, the three-room Crescent Suite features all the romance and old world charm found in a 100-year-old mansion. Lie back on the king-sized mahogany sleigh bed, and enjoy the moonlight streaming through the stained glass skylight overhead. The separate sitting room contains an oversized two-person Jacuzzi tub in the corner by windows that provide views of the pool area. The sitting area also has a club chair, television, and daybed located in the dormer window. The bathroom includes the mansion’s original tub as a refurbished claw-foot tub/shower combination.
Decorated to be a romantic and inviting space, the Ballroom at the Inn on Crescent Lake is ideal for your long-awaited weekend getaway, anniversary, or honeymoon. This room, located on the Mansion’s third floor, offers an idyllic combination of space, luxury, and romantic touches. The Ballroom provides a number of cozy nooks to curl up in and read or enjoy the views. Linger between the sheets of the king-sized canopy bed, relax in the beautiful two-person Jacuzzi tub, or savor the spacious walk-in marble shower in the bathroom. This expansive suite also includes a secluded sitting area with table and chairs nestled by an electric fireplace, or perch on the cozy loveseat to watch a DVD or listen to CDs.
Located on the first floor of the mansion, this room is one of our most popular because of its great extras. Gaze at the moon and stars from your own private outdoor hot tub! Or enjoy a colorful show as many different species of birds gather at a feeder located mere steps from the old-fashioned country porch by your private entrance. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower with a built-in bench seat. The queen-sized bed invites to you settle in for a little longer. This room also is ADA compliant, with a ramp providing access to the entryway.
The name and décor of this elegant room conjure up images of romantic destinations! It features a oversized corner Jacuzzi tub for two in the bedroom, a queen-sized mahogany sleigh bed, and a sitting area for two, all surrounded by walls painted in rich, warm, luxurious colors. The black-and-white tile motif in the bathroom creates a background that lends visual drama to the red claw-foot tub, perfect for a long, hot soak. If the tub doesn’t appeal, the walk-in shower custom-built in black tile will fill the bill. Look out the windows and see a gorgeous view of the gazebo, the pool and the ponds!
The soft gold walls embrace pictures of France and the Tour d'Eiffel. Close your eyes and you will imagine yourself in a Parisian Hotel. This room can be set as either two twin beds or a king bed. Sit in one of the two luxurious velvet chairs and enjoy the views of the pool, pond, and front lawn. The bath features a standard whirlpool tub with a luxurious glass block shower enclosure.
Featuring hand-painted antique white on ivory striped walls that many guests mistake for fine wallpaper, the Stripe is a romantic, comfortable room. Two pearl-white cloth club chairs are located by the two windows overlooking the estate’s gated entry. From there you can enjoy sweeping views of the manicured front lawn as you catch up on your leisure reading. The bed is a mahogany king-sized sleigh bed with a luxurious comforter that whispers “Linger…linger…” to you. If you’re looking to unwind, draw a hot bath and soak away any stresses in an old-fashioned claw-foot tub/shower combination.
The original master bedroom of the mansion, the McCleary Room was the bedroom of Dr. and Mrs. Aretus McCleary. This room conjures up the elegance of the early 20th century with a mirrored armoire in one corner and plenty of room to move around. A mahogany king-sized sleigh bed dominates this space, which also includes a comfortable sitting area with two tall wingback chairs and great views out over the water and Ice House. Early risers will love the eastern exposure that allows sunlight to stream into the room. Chase the tension from your tired muscles with some time in the standard-sized Jacuzzi tub in the tiled bathroom. Small details in the room, such as old medicine boxes, take you back to the time when Dr. McCleary’s clinic was the largest of its kind in the world.
Our most affordable room, the Emerald Rose features a queen-size wrought-iron bed and original hardwood floors. The bath has a claw-foot tub/shower combination and a converted antique washbasin. You’ll love the romantic feel and decor of the room and the lovely view of the pool and ponds outside your windows. An elevated shelf that circles the entire room once was the course for the model train of Dr. McCleary’s grandson. Now it is the repository of an enchanting variety of curios, with rope lighting.
