What a delight to stay in this lovely and historic home in Winona. Wonderful host, fabulous breakfast and great get away from the worries of the Twin Cities. Staying here should be on your "to do" list any time of the year! MN Marine Art Museum is only one of the many reasons to visit this historic city. Do some research and make a reservation!

Better than OUTSTANDING

5 on April 07, 2018

Food was much more than magnificent and equaled a 5-course Bfk. Proprietor Richard was a real host. House was one of the most authentic B&Bs in my thirty plus years of sampling. A must stay if you are within lodging distance!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your very kind remarks. Best wishes, Richard

Beautiful historic venue and delightful host

5 on April 05, 2018

I stayed at the Alexander Bed & Breakfast on my last night in Winona and can't wait to return. It's a privilege to be able to step back in time with a stay at a historic home like this one and the proprietor, Richard, was a fantastic host. Every detail was appreciated - from the gorgeous room and turndown service to the sumptious breakfast and recommendations for places to visit. Looking forward to my next visit! - Sarah M.

Innkeeper Response

Excellent!

5 on April 05, 2018

We have stayed in B&Bs from Maine to Alaska and without a doubt, this is one of our best experiences thus far! The room (Mary's) and bed were very comfortable, not to mention the beautiful home itself! Richard was more than charming and all the food was scrumptious! We even extended our stay 3 additional days from our original plans! We would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone we know.

Innkeeper Response
Dear Catherine, Your very generous review is much appreciated. Thank you and John. We look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes, Rich

Mansion Experience

While Martha's Room had a few anachronisms like A/C for comfort and fridge for leftovers, this is a mansion going back more than a century. The woodwork was amazing. The breakfast was the highlight of our trip--what makes this B&B better than any hotel.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your thoughtful and generous review. We look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes, Rich

Great stay...give this beautiful spot a couple of days to take it all in!

My husband and I took our daughters (13 & 14 yes) to explore Winona and we all enjoyed our stay at the Alexander Mansion. We really wished we could have stayed to soak in more of the experience here. Richard is a gifted host that knows how to treat people well and makes sure his guests are gracefully attended to.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind remarks. We are very glad you decided to stay at Alexander Mansion and hope you and your daughters have an opportunity to return. Best wishes, Rich
