Interesting place to stay

3.8 on July 05, 2016

The building is a lovely old plantation-style home built at the end of the Civil War. The room was large with its own bathroom. It had air conditioning. The hosts were lovely and very informative. The breakfast was generous and wonderful. The setting is near the Missouri River.

Solo Getaway

I needed a getaway just to relax on my own but didn't have the time to go too far from KC. Rivercene was the perfect place. Even though it's just across the bridge from Booneville, it felt secluded and peaceful. The house is amazing and my room was so classic and relaxing. Breakfast was FANTASTIC and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with the owners, joe and don, about the history and restoration of the home. The best part was just sitting on the front porch and reading (which I did for WAY longer than I had expected, too perfect not to!) I will definitely be back!

Second stay in the past several years. Excellent in all respects. We love to hear the house stories from the beginning to its eventual restoration. The hosts were knowledgeable and awesome!!

Nice anniversary!

3.6 on June 06, 2016

We went to Booneville for a fun overnight for our anniversary. Rivercene was a nice place to stay, close to town. Bathroom was small, but overall, the room was nice! Breakfast the next morning was very good. There was no one else staying at the B&B while we were there, so it was a little quiet for our tastes. And unfortunately, we picked a Sunday night to go - the town was pretty buttoned up except for the casino. Don was full of history information on the house and the area - really enjoyed listening to him talk! Would definitely go back at a busier time. We bike the Katy Trail the next day and had a great time!

We'd return in a heartbeat!

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, and Rivercene was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, the best I've had at a B&B. We are already talking about returning next year.

Great Bed & Breakfast

Great Katy trail stop! Beautiful 1800's home that's wonderfully decorated! The hosts (Don & Joe), as well as a full house house of guests made it a very interesting and entertaining visit ... and breakfast was delicious! I'll definitely be back again! :-)

Wonderful 3 days at Rivercene

4.0 on March 22, 2016

Our hosts were very informative and helpful to us. Their stories and information about the history of the Mansion are very impressive. The Mansion is very close to the Katy Trail (which is why I booked it) and worked great for our stay. They have Wi-Fi and we stayed so busy that we didn't even miss not having TV for 3 days. The breakfasts were delicious and way too much food! We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Wonderful Stay

My wife and I went here for Valentine's day weekend. We loved the room, the history, the food, and the attentive hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a chance to get away.
