High above the sparkling waters of Ki-chi-saga (North Center Lake) sits the Summit Inn, a unique combination of tranquility and history. Once the home of lawyers and physicians, (in a community immortalized through the epic works Vilhelm Moberg, creator of the mythical Swedish immigrants, Karl Oskar and Kristina) the Summit Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Stroll through our English country gardens. Just a 30 minute drive north of the Twin Cities. Located less than 10 miles from the scenic St. Croix River Valley.

This was our very first Bed & Breakfast, and we enjoyed our 2-night stay very much. Warm hospitality and comfortable, cozy rooms. Grand Victorian feel to the home.

This was my first time at a B & B. It was wonderful and peaceful. I had a great night sleep, the food was excellent. Any other B & B I stay at will have a lot to live up to.

When we arrived at a late hour after our nearby wedding we were warmly greeted by Elaine, the Innkeeper. We were shown to our room, The Sunset Room. Although the room was small, it was also cozy and inviting. There were rose petals lining the floor and leading to our bed, so sweet. We had the best nights rest ever after a long wedding day. The linens on the bed were some of the softest and most comfortable we've ever slept in! We awoke in the morning the wonderful smell of coffee and breakfast. We ate downstairs with others staying at the B & B and had lovely conversation. Of course the breakfast was magnificent as well, with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. We stayed a second night and moved rooms to stay in the upstairs suite, The Aerie Suite. The Suite is large, comfortable and romantic. There is a large bathroom in the Suite with a wonderful jet tub. When we moved rooms we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. We had a relaxing evening, watching old moving while relaxing on the sofa. In the morning we received breakfast in our room, a very thoughtful and romantic treat! Upon our departure we had warm conversation with Elaine who obviously loves what she does and has a knack for making her guests feel appreciated and at home. We intend to visit the Summit Inn again and again, as our stay was the best we have ever had. 6.24.17

My fiance and I needed to get away for the weekend, and the pictures sold us on this B&B. The pictures didn't even do justice! If you arrive at night time, a beautiful lit arch greets you, as well as Elaine, the innkeeper. Elaine is so wonderful in so many ways, I can't even begin to explain how kind, warm, and loving she is. The house is well decorated and has a light, airy feel. We stayed the Dr. Gunz's Study, and it was perfect. The bathroom was smaller than I expected, and I wish there was a tub in the room, but the other two rooms are provided with tubs. The bed was comfortable and had wonderful views of the nightly lit gazebo and lake. I'm not the type to sit around, but that's all I wanted to do there! I could have sat in the gazebo, in the room, in the garden, wherever on this property and felt the cool breeze from the lake and listen to the birds chirp for hours. She provides MANY books, games, and movies for your enjoyment, as well as a hospitality room where there are a variety of teas, wines, and k-cups. When you arrive, you're greeted with cheese, grapes, and crackers. And, in the evenings, she makes you yummy treats! Her breakfast is wonderful as well. She'll even ask if you want to be greeted an hour before breakfast with coffee waiting at your door. There isn't too much to do in the immediate area, you have to drive a little ways to find stuff to do in towns. All the locals recommended visiting Taylor Falls and the wineries. We also drove 45 min to Stillwater, and it was beautiful. We ate at the Pizza Pub and Swenson's and both were delicious. I can't say enough great things about this B&B, and highly recommend to anyone.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. We are SO glad you enjoyed yourselves and found peace and serenity while here. It is our goal to make sure every guest leaves knowing they are important. Glad to hear you felt the care we intended to give! Check in once and a while and let us know how you two are doing. Many Blessings on your future together!

Elaine was a kind and gracious B&B owner. Her "sweet treats" were a slice of heaven and the English Gardens were just showing the spring blooms. I would love to come back each month to see the summer and fall blooming seasons. Pam C.
Thank you so much for your review. I hope you will come back and watch the gardens change. It is a wonder! I'm trying to post more pictures on Facebook so our friends can enjoy the views from afar so check in there occasionally to see what is happening. If you do, please check in and let me know whats going on. I love to catch up with all my guests.

Everything was top notch through and through. Rooms were immaculate, the grounds were reminiscent of an Elven Glade, and the food and service were opulence at its finest. We will be going there time and time again.

I would describe my stay at the Summit Inn B&B as a lovely, comfortable and inviting retreat. The innkeeper, Elaine, is warm and welcoming and sincerely cares that all your "creature comforts" are met. I enjoyed beginning each day with a candlelit breakfast! Elaine's homemade breakfasts were beautifully served and tasted fresh and delicious. It's intimate setting was ideal for her guests to socialize or find space to themselves. I know for certain I'll be back!
