About

The Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast in the Traverse City area continues a 130 year old agricultural tradition on a 400 acre working cherry farm overlooking East Grand Traverse Bay. This Victorian style farmhouse was built in 1883 by the John Pulcipher Family. Restoration began in early 1999; every detail of the farmhouse has been lovingly restored from original wood paneling to the ten-foot pocket doors. Discover the beauty and tranquility of Traverse City's most romantic Bed and Breakfast while you enjoy our gracious hospitality. The Innkeepers strive to create a relaxed & memorable experience. We are happy to help our guests with meal reservations or other adventures you wish to plan while staying at the Country Hermitage B&B.

August visit to Traverse City and Country Hermitage B&B

4.6 on September 02, 2018

We had a wonderful time at the Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast. The place is unique, a step back in time, and Eric and Misty are friendly, approachable, and accommodating. They have everything you can imagine, at the B&B, to make your stay fun and comfortable. The grounds are surrounded by a cherry orchard as far as you can see along with a pond full of fish and beautiful gardens. The breakfasts were amazing! Eric is a very talented chef. You can't go wrong this B&B....ever!

Excellent Bed and Breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast. The home is meticulously maintained. The owners have thought of everything, so many nice details. We were greeted by Missy and delicious cookies. Breakfast was outstanding. The home is in a beautiful setting and a great location. Not too far from Traverse City.

Hidden gem B&B near Grand Traverse Resort

5 on August 24, 2018

We have stayed at Bed & Breakfast accommodations all over the Eastern half of the U.S. and have never found a nicer one than the Country Hermitage B&B. Eric and Misty are wonderful, personable hosts who provide far more amenities than any other B&B at which we have stayed, and everything about our accommodations from the lovingly tended grounds and flower beds overlooking magnificent views to the beautifully restored rooms with luxury mattresses and linens made our return stay this summer as delightful as our first last fall. Eric’s breakfasts are works of art, and without exception, delicious from start to finish, but his butterscotch-chocolate chip cookies are to die for! (Misty’s pecan bars come in a close second.)

very peaceful place

Love the grounds, with the fish pond and the brook with the frogs. And the food was amazing.

Our favorite B & B!

5 on August 05, 2018

We absolutely love B & B’s and to say that we have stayed at quite a few is an understatement, but there is something special about Country Hermitage that keeps us coming back. This is our 11th year returning to the B&B to celebrate our 25th anniversary. When we were deciding on where to go and what to do for our big celebration, this is the place we both agreed we wanted to be. Words really can’t describe how special this place is, you really have to experience it yourself. The beauty and peacefulness of the house, the quiet sounds of nature down at the pond, having a glass of wine in the afternoon while relaxing on the porch overlooking the cherry orchards and beautiful flower gardens truly melts every ounce of stress away. The lovely rooms, warm hospitality of the innkeepers, and mouth watering breakfasts make you never want to leave. It truly is an experience you won’t forget and we are so fortunate to have found this beautiful gem!

Top Rated B & B

Misty and Eric are the most welcoming Hosts we have come across. They welcomed us with warmth and graciousness. The house is beautifully decorated with original decor, beautiful gardens to explore, full of history. Topped off with a five star breakfast by Eric. We would definitely love to return again and again, and know you would love the peace, tranquility and beauty of the Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast.

We like heading "up north" for our anniversary and I always scour the area for B&Bs. For lit's location, relaxing feel, and accomodating innkeepers this is a "can't be beat" place!
