Stayed at Captain Swift Inn for 3 nights in August. Great location, walking distance to downtown Camden. Innkeepers, Norm & Linda very warm & welcoming. They definitely worked very hard to make sure all of our needs were met. Food was delicious. Room was comfy & clean. Water/coffee available all the time. Afternoon cookies/lemonade. Changed out towels out daily. Even had their own labels on shampoo/conditioner/bath beads/soap. Had a clawfoot tub with a shower curtain. I did not mind for 3 days, but I prefer a regular shower. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for making our Maine trip very enjoyable!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here in September. Traveling with my husband and elderly mother. They had the perfect accommodation for our needs and Linda's breakfasts are outstanding. Best french toast I've ever had - hands down. We particularly enjoyed the historical nature of the Inn. They made sure my Mom was comfortable reading in the living room while my husband and I hiked one of the days and made her feel at home. The homemade treats available 24/7 was an added bonus. Walking distance to town makes it a perfect location. Will stay here next time we come here and highly recommend it to anyone.

Had a great stay at the Captain Swift Inn. Incredible breakfasts and Linda and Norm are so hospitable. I stayed in Coastal Hideaway. It was a little chilly during my stay, so I made good use of the fireplace in the room. Camden is a great town for walking and the inn is only a few minute walk from downtown. Travel tip: Ask Norm about his maps... they're a great resource to help you plan your trip.

While on a motorcycle trip, We stayed for a night at the end of August, right before Norm and Linda's son Alex left for his first semester of college. With all of their preparations going on, the family made us feel at home, took time to share information and advice about the area, make sure we were comfortable and prepared a delicious breakfast. The historic Capt Swift Inn was beautifully decorated, spotless and a short walk from the waterfront. We are looking forward to returning next year. Gregg Spoering

The Captain Swift Inn was a nice find for our Maine getaway. I chose it for the reasonable price - hard to find in Camden. I was pleasantly surprised. We were met by the cheerful owner and shown to our room - which he had upgraded for us without our asking. The room was on the quiet side of the inn (The Bay Breeze room) and was larger than the one I had chosen. The bathroom was bright and spacious. My only complaint with it was the clawfoot tub - they are charming but don't really work all that well for showering! The breakfasts at the Inn are fabulous. Simple fare, but plenty of it and presented with flair. The owners are available and friendly. We enjoyed meeting them and talking with them each morning. Their son was helpful and even carried our bags upstairs for us! The location is quite convenient to the main drag, but not too close either. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to the area.

We enjoyed an entire week at the Captain Swift Inn with our teenaged daughter. The suites are ideal for this as the kids have their own space in the loft with TV/DVD, couches, a table and refrigerator. Rooms are quiet, beautifully decorated, spacious and impeccably clean. The breakfast was often our best meal of the day, with a different menu every day. There is a well-stocked library and DVD collection, a computer in the reading room, and free high speed WIFI. The location is ideal - only two or three blocks from the center of town and the harbor. But the best thing about Captain Swift Inn are the innkeepers Norm, Linda and Alex. They were like friends, asking us about our plans for the day, providing guidebooks and suggestions for things to do, and even offering to make arrangements or reservations. We could not have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We will definitely be back!

My father is disabled and has trouble going up stairs, so we specifically chose this inn because their "Hannah's room" was on the 1st floor (an unusual feature in a historic inn). It was really perfect for him, especially the handicapped-accessible ensuite bath. Linda and Norm were wonderful as well... very solicitous and accommodating. We couldn't have been happier! One note for late risers or light sleepers, though: the only down side of being on the 1st floor is that the room is next to the common areas, so you will hear other guests, particularly at breakfast-time. But overall, it was wonderful and we would definitely stay there again.
