The room is huge, the bed is incredibly comfortable and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. My only issue was a couple of large spiderwebs that should probably have been removed, but other than that the place was clean and I was happy with my stay.

I have been to many Bed and Breakfasts all over the world and this one is rated with my favorite. The innkeepers are extrememly professional and the entire inn is very warm and welcoming. It sits on a gorgeous river and there are many activities available. We will be returning again and again. Thank you for many our holiday even brighter .....

Room was very clean and very large. Very comfortable bed. Great view of the river. The owners go out of their way to accommodate you even for the small things - brought cream to my room for coffee.

Excellent location, amenities, and service only 30 minutes from Ocean City and Assateague Island. Rick and Dwayne were excellent hosts. The breakfast is unlike any other B&B in which we've stayed. It's essentially order what you want every morning. The waffles are famous. I waited until the last day to try them since they're quite addicting and not diet food! Rick is a great cook and conversationalist. We didn't get out of there until 11:00 everyday just chatting away! Right out the back entrance is the Pocomoke River. We went on the pontoon river cruise with the other couple in the Inn. The portion of the river we explored is protected by a draw bridge which opens rarely and only on request. We saw only one other boat the entire trip. Ask Capt Jerry to show you the "wedding tree"! We stayed in the East Room. Spacious and comfortable with two chairs so you don't have to lay in bed to watch TV or read. This room faces the street which seems to be the main drag through town. If you're there on a weekday, rush hour starts at 7:00. The library and game closet are well stocked. The Furnace Town just five minutes north of Snow Hill is a diamond in the rough. There were two volunteers there that day, a blacksmith and gardener. Both could talk your head off if you let them! Well worth the time.

Had two hight stay at Riverhouse for getaway weekend. Folks were great and excellent breakfasts. Quaint town clise to nature and activities. Great resturant Blue Dog Cafe is walking distance. Will stay again when on business travel in Delaware. Much better than staying in a motel chain. Hats off to Dwayne and Rick and staff for naking it a great stay.

Ten of us (all adults) gathered here for a Fall weekend reunion. We had the Cypress House, the River Room in the main house, and the Lighthouse room down by the river. The facility is old, but extremely well-kept and clean. Breakfast was amazing, and while they offered a special of the day, they graciously fixed anything we wanted within reason. Dwayne and Rick were perfect hosts!

This is where we usually stay when we come to the Eastern Shore. This year our dog was sick and we were accommodated so that we could bring him. The staff even assisted us by taking him out for a walk while we were out. This is the only place you should stay. Dr. Christopher Bishop A native of Snow Hill

My wife and I stayed here for two nights, and will definitely return the next time we swing through that area. The house is beautiful. Our room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The pool was clean and well maintained. The owners are extremely friendly. The breakfasts are amazing. You can eat anywhere from a small, light breakfast, to one that is so filling that you can easily skip lunch. Snow Hill is a cute little town, and convenient to essentially all of the Eastern Shore. We used this B&B as our launching point to explore Assateague and Chincoteague. It's also very close to Ocean City, if you'd like to go to OC but avoid the exorbitant hotel prices there. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We stayed at the River House Inn for the third time from 7/29 - 7/31/2016 in the lower level of the cottage closest to the river (Yacht Room). Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The thing I like the best about this inn is the way the innkeepers treat you like old friends. Another thing I like is the ability to use the grill by the pool. Breakfasts are outstanding. The poached egg on Sunday came with potatoes, bacon, and a garnish of asparagus. The fruit is always very fresh. I highly recommend the River House Inn.

Rick and Dwane were great host and very welcoming. The breakfast were great loved the personal touch on making your eggs any way you liked them. The waffles were delicious. We loved the way the property was by the Pocomoke river. The fishing was great caught 9 catfish in the river. We love the view of the river from our porch. The pool was great and Orco the dog that came with the inn was a lot of fun.

My wife and I spent a very pleasant two days in Snow Hill. We had stayed at the very River House with the previous owners and it was nice to stay there again. The Inn is holding up well and the new owners have improved on breakfast and the general level of service. I know Snow Hill well and it's nice to see the town coming back. All in all it was enjoyable and I recommend it for anyone who would like to experience this beautiful part of the Shore.

A lovely place to get away from the busy world and relax in a hospitable small-town environment. This B&B is a lovely Victorian house with owners who clearly care about not only the decor but also the service they provide to their guests. Snow Hill itself is quiet, quaint, and a quality place to stay.

My wife and I spent our 34th wedding anniversary at the River House Inn. The weather didn't cooperate but at least hurricane Jaquin passed us by. In addition to the rooms in the main house there are several cottages on the property. We stayed in the Yacht Room. I highly recommend this room or the one above it, the Lighthouse Room. They are closest to the river and offer a great view from the large porches. Breakfasts in the main house each morning were excellent. (Try the world famous waffles). I also recommend dinner at the Blue Dog which is within walking distance. (Only open on Friday and Saturday. Reservations recommended). The food was fair but the show was great. I highly recommend this B&B

Couldn't be happier with the accommodations and the inn keepers! The room was spotless, and comfortable, the building was well kept. The inn keepers greeted us with a warm welcome and a glass of wine! The breakfast can only be described as DELICIOUS! The waffles are to die for! We would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Can't wait to go back! It truly was OUTSTANDING!

River House Inn is an exceptional B&B! The breakfast is excellent and the inn keepers are gracious and welcoming. We stayed in the first floor of the cottage facing the river (Yacht Club Room) and enjoyed our private porch and comfortable accommodations. We also enjoyed the pool area - very nice - even has a seating area with a fire pit. Check out this B&B, you will love it.

Main house (of 3) is expected to see renovations in the next year. Slightly dusty, overhead fan in room broken. Outdoors very comfortable with large gazebo and clean pool. Three interesting local restaurants within a short walk. Poconoke River nature cruise was informative and relaxing. Will return next summer.

The entire place is fenced which makes it an ideal place for the pets and kids to run around safely. Breakfast is freshly made each morning is of top quality. Your dog may love to play with their black lab puppy "Orka". Swimming pool and the grill at the pool side is great for the pool parties. The place is 30 minutes drive to dog-friendly Assateague beach and Ocean City. Highly recommended place for pet lovers. We will visit this place again.

We (my husband, our dogs and I) stayed in the Yacht Room with its huge porch overlooking the Pocomoke River. The quiet efficiency of the place ensures that every need had been anticipated. Our dogs could romp in the beautiful spring gardens (with a refuse bin discreetly available for the poop bags) with Orca, the well-mannered, child-friendly dog of the owners. The amiable owners, besides being superior cooks, have that incredible ability to be both invisible and on-call found only at truly 5-star inns. It was clear from hearing other guests that they make a point of staying here as often as possible. As will we.
5 on May 03, 2015
Rick and Dwayne are welcoming hosts, paying attention to every detail...the gardens were beautiful, in spring bloom.

Owners Rick and Dwayne are extremely accommodating and super nice. This is our second time there and both times we stayed in the Yacht Room. Couldn't enjoy a room more than this room. Big bed, nice, relaxing porch and the view is great. Oh, and the breakfasts are nothing short of spectacular. Dwayne makes awesome muffins and Rick can do wonders with eggs. But there signature item is their Belgian waffles. That would be my request if I was asking for my last meal. Town is quaint and everything is closed on Sunday and Monday, but those are they days to relax and do nothing. Pet friendly place with a nice fenced property to let your dog roam. And their new pup, Orca, is a wonderful dog. Played with our pup, Juno, like they were long lost pals.

My husband and I celebrated our third anniversary at Riverside Inn Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Yacht room which was spacious, clean, and cozy. The Riverside Inn was the perfect place to relax and enjoy each other's company. The inn keepers were very nice and knowledgable about the area. Breakfast was amazing! We are looking forward to returning there when it is warmer out.

Over the past year we have experienced three family losses .. each one unexpected. Rick and Dwayne were able to superbly accommodate our needs for lodging and comfort, which meant securing our favorite room. Frankly I cannot say enough wonderful things about the RHI ... it is charming ... laid back ... beautifully located on the river yet at the same time on the edge of the lovely little town of Snow Hill. The breakfasts are scrumptious ... each day brings a delicious freshly baked confection with the customary fresh fruit, eggs, waffles, etc. We absolutely needed refuge and tranquility in the midst of such sorrow, and this comforting and cozy inn fit the bill. It truly felt like a home away from home. S.L & P.L

We stayed at the River House Inn in February. It was freezing outside, but inside the rooms it was warm by the gas fireplace. The inn keepers were great and the breakfast was marvelous.

The breakfast was made to order, rooms spacious and nice, it was winter but the grounds were incredible. Can't say enough good things about the place. And the town is quaint with interesting places to eat.

We had at really great time, and loved this inn--so comfy and cozy! The bed was comfortable, the fire was nice, we loved being in a separate little cabin. The only way anything could have been better is if there had been a big hot tub outside the cabin, but the big jacuzzi tub was almost as good. (I understand an outside hot tub is in the future plans!) Nice fluffy towels. Plenty of pillows of varying sizes and firmness. Also, the innkeepers made us popcorn on request! And breakfast was one of the best we've ever had at a B&B. We'll definitely be back...

My family had the best stay ever! Things were every stressed at home trying to get everyone together the weekend before Christmas. Rick & Dwayne made our weekend so relaxing. First of all the whole property is beautiful. The holiday decorations were amazing. No wonder they won first place! We had 10 family members stay. Age ranging from 61 to 3 week old twins. They treated everyone so well, I can't wait to go back once the pool is open.

Everything was perfect! My husband and I and our two doggies had a wonderful stay. We stayed in the Lighthouse; we had privacy plus our own deck looking over the grounds and the river. A great night's sleep (comfortable bed!) and the room had a mini-fridge and microwave. Breakfast every morning in the main house was SO good! World Famous Waffles, and Eggs Benedict to rave about. Thanks Rick and Dwayne, you were the best hosts - so helpful, and knowledgable about the area. We felt so at home and relaxed. We'll be back in the Spring!

We went to snow Hill to be married as a gay couple. The River Inn was a perfect location for our 3 day visit! The breakfasts were sumptuous and delicious. Our cottage was clean and comfortable and quite private. Our hosts, Rick and Dwayne were most helpful with suggestions for evening meals and had brochures for the area attractions! We plan to return!

You can stay at a lot of really nice places but if the staff isn't great, the whole thing falls apart. Dwayne and Rick, the owners, make all the difference. I read a few reviews saying how great they are -- but, you need to experience it. It's every little touch that you can't describe and how they deliver it. Perfectly. Sure, the inn is beautiful, well maintained, in a quick-location to OC and Asateague, and the eastern shore. It's river front with great chairs to sit and have a cigar while the sun sets. A few things to add: - A glass of wine... Or, two... There is always a wine bottle open 'somewhere'. Whether it's in the (complimentary) hall fridge w/ Soda and Water -- or, just a few steps away. Sure, Rick will offer a glass at check-in, but that's just the beginning. - The hall fridge... A cute little deal stocked with what you need. - Breakfast. DO NOT miss the Waffles. Yeah, Eggs Benedict are great. But, Dwayne gave us the recipe for some of the best we've ever had. - The town... A great bar/restaurant 'Harvest Moon' with great prices ($20 for a bottle of wine? Really?) and it's about 2 blocks from the inn. Most places are closed, sadly, at night. But, we have that going for us, at least. - Screen porch. Not ready for bed? Just sit out there for a while, safe from the bugs. For us, it's the experience with the B&B -- but, the people that run it. If you like that sort of thing, you'll love the River House Inn.

Over the years we have stayed at a variety of bed and breakfast inns. The RHI breakfast was truly delicious. Also, I like that coffee is available 24/7. I am an amateur photographer and the property has so much charm that it provided many photo ops, inside and out. However, the most outstanding quality of the RHI for me was how welcome and at home the innkeepers made us feel.

We stayed two nights at the Riverview Inn in mid-February. Our room was elegant and very comfortable, with lovely views from all four windows. Dwayne and Rick provided a family feeling, complete with dog; but were not intrusive, either. Their cooking is awesome. The location offers a lot: a pretty town to explore; birding along the river; a wild and beautiful beach only a half hour away. I can't think of a single thing I would change about our stay.

Found the River House Inn and Snow Hill by a very lucky chance and my husband and I can't wait to return in the spring or summer. The house is lovely and very homey. Our room was spacious and had the requisite two chairs for tv and relaxing. The bed was excellent, with a reading light on either side.Bathroom was a little chilly but nicely modernized. Breakfast was delicious-fruit,juice,coffee,waffles,bacon and Dwayne's crumbcake. We are returning to try out the pool and explore the river and town further.

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the weekend and it was by far, the best overall experience we have had at a b&b. We were beyond blown away by the hospitality from Dwayne and Rick. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The breakfast was exceptional; it had variety and class and most of all was delicious! We stayed in the West Room which was clean and homey. The only downside was shower did have low water pressure and the fireplace was non-operational. And I can't forget their dog Teal, very friendly!

My husband brought me to snow hill for my birthday ,just to get away for a long weekend . It was a much needed break from everyday life . Dwayne and Rick were wonderful host and made us feel very welcome and the breakfast were out of this world . I have some diet restrictions and they were very accommodating to me and I truly appreciated it . I know where I am planning a weekend away again it will most defently be the river house inn .

We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful stay. The rooms were beautiful and everyone was friendly and relaxed. I've stayed at some B&Bs that were very tight and greeted me with a long list of rules before they said welcome. This isn't one of those. The crowning part of the experience was the amazing food. The almond french toast is a must. I am looking forward to staying there again on my next visit to Snow Hill.

My son was married here in June of this year, which Dwayne and Rick handled flawlessly, and I promised I'd come back when I had nothing going on and could truly relax and enjoy myself. It was a great decision. If you read all the other reviews you'll see a consistent theme re: breakfast. It's incredible. The waffles alone are practically worth the price of admission. Dwayne and Rick are excellent hosts, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The cabin we stayed in, the Yacht Club, was the perfect choice, with its king size bed, in-room Jacuzzi, and porch facing the water. The grounds are lovely, having brick paths meandering from the main house to the swimming pool, the gazebo, and the various cabins. Beyond the last cabin is a large tree filled yard that stretches down to the river and two enormous willow trees along its bank. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is incredible. What else could you ask for?

We were looking for a place that would take care of us-no cooking, cleaning, and no stress. Dwayne and Rick provided all of that and more. The food was to die for- breakfast is my favorite meal, and the presentation as well as the taste were fit for a queen. Pool was an added plus; river behind the house provided us with an opportunity to go kayaking; quaint little town with unique shopping and eating spots all made for a very relaxing 3 days. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

On a recent trip to Snow Hill we decided to stay at a B&B, instead of a regular hotel. We had a great stay at the River House Inn. Our host were gracious and helpful with our dinner plans. Breakfast was one of the best ever. I can't wait to return to this peaceful inn.

We elected to stay in Snow Hill, when our Grand Daughter got married in Ocean City, this past July. We had stayed at the inn before, with the previous owners, & didn't know what to expect. We were very pleased with what we found. A beautiful pool had been added, & Rick & Dwayne could not have been better hosts. They were very attentive to our every need, & made us feel like we were staying with family. Our breakfast was so good, on the first morning, that we found ourselves looking forward to breakfast the next 4 times, & were not disappointed! When we returned home, somehow oatmeal did not cut it for breakfast, anymore, & I found myself thinking about what Dwayne might be baking for their guests that day. The town of Snow Hill is like stepping back in time, to a slower pace, & where everyone knows your name. Three great restaurants are within walking distance, as is the Pocomoke River, which borders the inn property. A canoe company will rent you a canoe or kayak, or you can rent a pontoon boat, to tour the cypress lined river. We will definitely return to the inn, so Dwayne, don't loose the recipe for that scrumptious crumb cake, & Rick, don't forget how to prepare the most perfect bacon! Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed here while visiting Assateague Island. It was a short drive (about 20 minutes) to the Island, and we had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful, very clean, and quiet. The pool in the backyard is gorgeous and peaceful, with a big gazebo, plenty of lounge chairs and tables, and towels ready for you to use. The owners made us feel very welcome, and had complementary cold water bottles and drinks around the house for us to enjoy. The breakfast was great. They went above and beyond and offered to let us use the pool or showers after returning from Assateague, well after check-out time. And there are restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. We definitely recommend River House Inn!

Five nights at this lovely property made it feel like home. Rick and Dwayne could not do enought to make the stay comfortable and pleasant. The breakfasts were phenomenal...there are some mad skills at play in that kitchen. My room in the main house was spacious and comfortable . I could not have been happier with the accommodations. Not o ly is it a beautiful property, but it is located about a block from everything in town...it would be the perfect location to enjoy any of the events planned in Snow Hill. I will definitely stay there again.
