Welcome to The Red Maple Inn, a romantic colonial-era estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our 15 room mansion, built circa 1780, features six deluxe guest accommodations appointed with period antiques as well as all modern amenities, including private bathrooms, air-conditioning, and color cable television with DVD players. Lovely perennial gardens, ancient stone walls and towering evergreens surround the estate which is tucked into the heart of Spencer's Historic District. Original wide-board pumpkin pine floors, chair rails and crown moldings have been lovingly restored to their original beauty. Yankee Magazine "Editors' Choice" 2007.

What a lovely room and Inn overall. It was exactly what I was looking for. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets very soft. Breakfast was made to order and many options were provided, and very delicious. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if I was ever in this area of Massachusetts.

Four of us, spouses and in laws, came up to Massachusetts for a family wedding celebration on Webster lake. I located the Red maple Inn online; when I spoke with them I immediately found them to be a most accommodating Inn; Arrangements for two adult couples were easily arranged. We arrived much later for check-in than initially expected; all at the Inn were asleep. Off street parking was available to us; clear instructions for us were taped to the door; inside we found an inviting lounge area; cookies; having driven from PA, we actually sat for a while. The bedrooms were delightful and spacious; decorated with nice bedding, comfortable beds and a private bath and seating inside the room. Outside was a drip coffee set up for the early morning riser to enjoy before breakfast. At breakfast, (served at the time we selected) we found the presentation lively, the preparation careful and the flavors reminiscent of days gone by now when eating a good breakfast was expected. Clearly, this innkeeper knows his way around a kitchen. This satisfying experience was repeated throughout the weekend. More about the "lounge"; it is a living room with small service bar set up where we enjoyed our adult beverages (purchased ourselves) met and mingled with other guests and in general had a most cordial stay. I am keeping the Red Maple Inn in my portfolio because I would like to return for another stay to further enjoy the general area sans wedding obligations. Jack Hetherington

Nice place in a somewhat remote area. Nice host and good food. This was on a busy road, Rt 9, and for some reason, I expected a quieter, more tranquil area. Worcester is about 15 miles east of here with a decent amount of sites and some great restaurants. Spencer is a quiet town and really a landing space for visiting events /activities outside of Spencer. Nice B & B with a very nice host.

A beautiful oasis, the Rose room so romantic with furniture and furnishings holding me in the the spirit of more connected times when things were built with care, dependability and a shared sense of worthiness. The Rose room's charming bathroom set up did not have a bathtub, but did have a very fine shower with solid tiles. The nights were quiet and peaceful. The breakfasts were a delight (with my choices made the day before from a clear list of options), with a warmth of conversation with owner John who was both respectful and friendly and brimming with thoughtful caring responses to any questions about the surrounding area. I had communicated that I would be arriving late the first evening, and everything was arranged for me to be able to enter and settle in easily and comfortably.

Stayed two nights. The inn was clean and quiet with plenty of New England charm. John, the innkeeper, was very friendly and hospitable. Breakfasts were filling and quite delicious!
