My husband surprised me for my 50th by going to marblehead and staying at the Lady Winette cottage. The views from our room (The Harbor room) was spectacular! ! The cottage was adorable and quaint. If you would like to rekindle your love and watch romantic sunsets on your patio this is the place to do it . Susie our hostess made us feel welcomed from start to finish. It was a pleasure meeting her. I will visit again. We had a WONDERFUL TIME. Thanks again Suzi !! Pete and Nancy R

This B&B was a nice cozy getaway for Halloween and included great visits with other guests and with Suzie herself, who is charming as anything! The space is a little small but nothing important because most of our time was spent elsewhere. The cottage is very clean and has tons of character! I would recommend this place to anyone for an authentic experience at Marblehead.

Positively charming and quite cozy. Suzi is an absolute love. Making every attempt to please and charm her guests. The guestrooms and shared bath have ,eveidently, been remodeled since some of the reviews so there were no problems showering or with mirrors for us, breakfast is a lovely continental spread with fresh fruit, coffee and pastries. If you like cozy, sweet and charming, this is the guest cottage for you.

I went here with my girlfriend in October (2011) and it was our first stay at a B&B. We were met with the warmest greetings, which made us feel completely at home. I believe that to be the crux of a B&B; Susan clearly believes this too. She is sweet and really helped us have a truly positive first B&B stay. We plan on returning in warmer weather. And to any naysayers I have only to say, if you prefer the homogenized negligence and sterility of chain hotels stay there and keep your opinion to yourselves.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip into Salem, and we thought it would do us good to stay a little bit out of the way of the city since it was the weekend before Halloween. We found this really darling, cozy, quiet place just minutes outside Salem. Suzi, the owner, literally greeted us with open arms. She was so warm and welcoming, and even after an entire day of travel, our spirits were lifted by how adorable her home was and her happiness to have us there. She was extremely hospitable, and gave us amble directions and advice in touring the city of Salem and Gloucester. The view from our room looked right out onto the harbor, we had a lovely pair of french doors, a porch, and also a beautiful sun rise each morning. The house is uniquely decorated; very pink, but homey, and cozy. She turned down our sheets every night before we came home to sleep. She provided fresh towels and sheets everyday, allowed us to come and go as we pleased, fresh fruit, deliciously brewed coffee, and warm conversation waited for us on the morning of our departure home. we could not have asked for a better B&B experience. If you have somehow lost what it means to go and stay at a B&B, I would not recommend this place, as well as if you enjoy the open sterility of a hotel room and isolation from your caretaker, you may find enjoyment staying elsewhere. But never have I ever had an experience quite like this one, where I felt entirely taken care of and thought after. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone seeking the charm of boarding in New England B&B for a few days. And we plan on returning next year!

Nestled in historic Marblehead Harbor, this was by far the best bed and breakfast we have ever experienced. Our hostess Suzi made us feel so relaxed and at home. Her constant smile and warm attitude was equal to her colorful and beautiful Victorian cottage. Our king sized bed and cozy room replenished our strength from a great day in Salem. The morning breakfast was full of fresh fruits and pastries (best coffee as well!!!). Everything about this bed and breakfast was above and beyond our expectations. We are already planning a return trip! :-) -Anthony and Lisette

Lady Winette was such a pleasant find! Such a fun feel to the cottage, every room reflected the vibrant personality of Suzi. From her own seascape paintings to piles of reading glasses in every color! So many B&B's are just a room in a house....not this one! Lady Winette had an atmosphere that made me want to stay a few more days!

What a lovely place!! I had no idea what I was in store for because a friend, local to Marblehead, found A Lady Winette Cottage for me. He told me I was in for a treat and he was right. When my fiance and I arrived, it was after nightfall so we didn't have a chance to truly take in the amazing view from our bedroom until the next morning. When we awoke, the morning light streamed softly through the window and from bed I gazed upon the most beautiful harbor filled with hundreds of sailboats. The gracious hostess, Suzi, prepared fresh fruit and muffins for our breakfast which we ate, along with our fill of juice and coffee, from her front porch downstairs (surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers). Suzi didn't interfere with our relaxing breakfast but when we engaged her in conversation, she turned out to be the most delightful b&b owner I've ever encountered and later showed me her backyard garden as well. Part of our stay was spent out and about in Marblehead — which was filled with fun little shops and restaurants, as well as a few colorful watering holes and yacht clubs. The rest was taken as an opportunity for quality rest and relaxation. The patio off the front bedroom was large, partially shaded and an amazing spot to hang out with my sweetheart, read a bit or catch a nap. When we were ready for a change, we caught the end of the U.S. Open on the large TV in our bedroom. All in all it was an amazing weekend getaway and I hope we're able to return soon.

I'm afraid that my wife and I will have to take a contrary point of view compared to the other reviews. Never have we been more stressed out when staying on a trip. My wife and I pretty much exclusively stay in B&B's and this one fails to measure up in every category. The Bathroom. Small, no screen on the window. Pink shower curtain that hit both my shoulders while standing. The used bars of soap were disgusting. If you want to shave your face you need to pick up the mirror to do it, as it's propped up behind the faucet. Every wall covered in pink fabric. The View. Deck is ok, but the view isn't that great. Lots of obstructions such as telephone lines and other buildings. Was firmly told I could not talk on the deck after 10pm. This wasn't a problem due to mosquitoes. The innkeeper removed all the cushions and stuck them in the corner in our room and made it clear that they were not to be left outside. Narrow Staircase. It is a challenge for anyone who is not fit. If you're over 200 lbs you might have trouble just getting to your room while carrying your luggage. The Power. Not sure if an isolated occurrence, but the power went out 4 times during our stay. I could write a whole book about this occurrence and what transpired but it won’t fit here. The Food: Breakfast was store-bought fruit (pineapple had brown spots) & muffins, and tea. Nothing special, and a downer compared to the lavish breakfasts that we enjoyed while in other states. I also managed to break her fork while spearing a piece of fruit- they're more appropriate for a 5 year old's princess party. The House: If you love lots of clutter, the color pink, and want the feeling of staying in your eccentric aunt's house with her wanting to talk to you all the time, then this is the place for you. For those who claim that this is the best B&B they have ever been in, we will respectfully disagree and hope that they get out more. The $150 asking price is completely out of line with the amenities.

Ever dream what it would be like to sleep in a doll house by the sea? My wife and I stayed three days at Lady Winette Cottage and this is exactly how it felt, like living in a pink doll house with Suzi, our cottage hostess and owner, entertaining us each morning over breakfast with her fun stories and laughter. If large, spacious rooms with private baths and room service is what you’re looking for, this pixy bungalow is not for you. But if quaint, historical and charming fits your bill, with internet service and TV, then you should check out A Lady Winette Cottage.

We stayed here in June 2010. The cottage is quaint; flowers are beautiful. We enjoyed visiting with Suzi and she was very helpful with info on what there was to see in the area and also provided us with detailed maps on how to get there. We were the only guests so had a room with a beautiful view of the harbor and a deck where we were able to relax. The only suggestion that I would have is noting that rooms are not handicap accessible.

Never have we felt so special as when we stayed with Suzi in her lovely little cottage on the neck in Marblehead. Her charming place was decorated with the prettiest furnishings and the flowers were blooming everywhere. Suzi bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. We had some enchanting conversations over breakfast. I can't wait to go back.

Our stay at A Lady Winnette Cottage was everything we were looking for. It has a great location, warm and cozy feeling, great environment for short (or long) strolls with awesome scenery...AND an extremely caring and warm hostess! We stayed four nights but it only felt like a day... way too short of a stay. The room with the private balcony is to die for! Based on other rates we could find A Lady Winnette Cottage is a great bargain. If you want to be papered and catered to by a large staff, this isn't the place for you; However if you wan to relax, decompress and feel at home this is the right place to go. Thanks to the hostess Suzi, she can tell you all about the area, where to visit, and great local restaurants. It's like having a friend as a tour guide! The cottage is located on Marblehead neck, so you have to take a very short drive into town. Once Suzi gave us the low down on the actual city of Marblehead, we found all kinds of interesting things to do and shops to visit. There are several local places to eat that are really great!

I thought this was a wonderful little place to stay. Suzi, your host, is warm and inviting, and makes sure that all your needs are met. She really goes out of her way to treat you with kindness, as well as much needed information about the area and how to get around. I took my Mother who is 78 yrs old for a short vacation and we both loved Suzi and her B&B. The staircase was a little difficult for her to maneuver, but that is a small price to pay for the beauty and charm of the house. We can't wait to come back and stay with Suzi again!

Like a previous guest, I also grew up in Marblehead. I really felt like I was coming home to visit a friend or relative when staying at Suzi's cottage for a family wedding weekend. My husband and I loved being able to leave the door to our porch open at night, and to awaken to the delightful sights, sounds, and salt air of Marblehead Harbor We had a lovely breakfast time with Suzi on her front porch. She couldn't have been more accomodating. My family members stopped by and were offered a tour of the house. The cottage is adorable, and the bedroom charming. We look forward to our next visit, and we'll recommend A Lady Winette Cottage to fellow bed and breakfast fans!

I grew up in Marblehead and know most all the "ins and outs" of this great seaside town. The Lady Winette is definately an in Inn! My family was having a reunion and a few of us need a place to stay local for a few nights. Lady Winnette was a great choice! Accompanied by my husband, daughter and her grandfather (3 generations) we all had a wonderful time. The view from the cottage is spectacular, the beach was great for swimming, finding sea glass and kayaking. When we weren't at a family event we felt at home back at the cottage! We felt like we had our own place by harbor with the whole second floor for 4 days! Suzie the host is a tremendous part of the whole experience, she made sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed; especially agreat since we had Papa with us. Our stay was more than great hospitality, I made a new friend. My husband and I have traveled to B&B's throughout New England and Scandianvia and this cottage is at the top of our list for a summer visit. A private place right in the heart of the harbor. Thanks Again

Wow. We just loved this B&B! My husband and I have stayed at many over the years, but we had yet to experience this charming Victorian. We are from HHH (Hazy, Hot and Humid) central New York, where flys and mosquitos run rampant. It was a great surprise to me when Suzi told us that we could leave the door open if we chose to do so to our private porch that looks out on the harbor...because they don't get any of these common pests! Guess what..........she was right! So I enjoyed, enjoyed! That night, Suzi asked us what we would like to have for breakfast. We enjoyed gigantic delicious muffins, Great coffee and juice, and killer huge bowls of fresh strawberries and bluberries...and sat enjoying all of this with the most Stunning view of the harbor. What more could we ask for? We got a comfy room, a super view from a wonderful porch, falling asleep listening to the ocean from our open door, a yummy breakfast and a lovely , friendly and interesting host. Oh yes..there is one thing that I would like to request........to return again and again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are looking for charming this is it. Yes, it's small and you need to share the bath, but the location is perfect, beds are comfy and the view is perfect. Our host was a delight, it was like staying at our favorite Aunt's house.

We are from Canada and stay in B&B's frequently. We were pleased with our accomodations, the decor is cozy, extremely clean and the view from our room on a spacious deck was spectacular! A charming cottage nestled in a quaint setting, steps away from the beach. The highlights were sitting on our deck watching the sunsets. Our hostess was kind and extremely helpful. She is very proud of her home and made our stay delightful. The information she gave us re: local restaurants and museums were most helpful. We would highly recommend this B&B.

This website and the property website do not mention the fact that you have a shared bath. Although Suzi seems to be very nice, her BnB is not one that I would visit again in the future.
I’m sorry this guest did not enjoy their stay. Per their suggestion, I have added clarification to my listing that the bath is shared to prevent any future misunderstandings. I have run this B&B for thirty years and received many wonderful comments from happy guests; visitors are welcome to view the guestbooks I keep in each room. Of course, any time a guest has a problem during their stay, they can let me know and I will happily make it right.
