The Wayside Inn is an historic Bed and Breakfast nearby historic Ellicott City, the site of the first railway station in the United States. The Inn is within minutes of art galleries, museums, antique shops and award winning restaurants. It is a short hop to downtown Baltimore or to catch the Metro into exciting Washington, D.C., with all those cities have to offer. Yet the Wayside Inn is safely located in the tranquil hills of Ellicott City on two acres of landscaped property, with a beautiful pond amid mature trees(one White Oak certified to have been standing at the signing of the U.S Constitution)and stunning gardens. In the past few months the owners have completely renovated the second floor adding private baths with Jacuzzi style tubs to some rooms and adding a brand new Luxury suite. Your Comfort is our Passion!

We were here for a quick get away and it was Ellicott City that drew us here, but honestly we could have just stayed at The Wayside Inn the entire time and would have been just as nice. We were very comfortable staying here, although treated like guests we didn't feel like guests, we felt like we belonged there. The host was extremely welcoming and enjoyed our conversations with him. He directed us to great food in Ellicott City, which was about a mile or so away. The breakfast was amazing. We stayed until the minute we had to check out because we didn't want to leave. The rooms were very comfortable and has everything you'd need and more. If you are looking for a get away, like us, this place is it.

Loved everything about this place - the room, the food, the landscaping! Would absolutely recommend anyone to stay. We stayed in the Terrace Room and it was perfect with fireplace, jacuzzi tub, private entrance and amazing shower!

Clean room, nice amenities. Really appreciated the private entrance. Owner offered to drive us to our ultimate destination since we weren't familiar with the area. Highly recommended.

Only met Susan, she did not make us feel at home or welcome but awkward for showing up 10 minutes early and it continued for our stay. Breakfast was good, but not enough food for my boyfriend on either day. He left hungry, which we were guaranteed would not happen. Keys were left in our door when they cleaned our room without our permission. Things were left in the room from previous customers. I booked this for my boyfriends birthday and it was a huge let down. Property was beautiful, such potential, but the bed and breakfast stay was subpar. We won't return and cannot recommend this place.

This it the one and only bed and breakfast that my husband I have stayed and we continue to come back to Wayside Inn every year for our anniversary. There isn't enough time to say all the wonderful things about Wayside, but I would for sure recommend this location, they make you feel so at home and meet your every need. A++ service!!!

Wayside Inn makes a great stopover close to the Baltimore Washington Airport. David served outstanding breakfasts: French toast soaked in egg and Grand Marnier with maple sausage the first morning and a tasty baked egg dish the second morning. He advised me on the best local pubs, too! My room was lovely, and the bathroom included a huge air-jet tub that I used to de-stress both nights. Thank you thank you. Wonderful stay!

This was my fiancé's first time at a B&B! David was the perfect host. He was very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was picturesque. It was nice having our own sitting room. Breakfast was amazing. Blueberry Pecan French toast with a caramel sauce. May have not been good for the waist but it was delicious! We would definitely go back to the wayside inn
This suite, with its French Country Blue decor, is one of our most popular. The romantic two-room suite has a queen-sized bed, which has a beautiful padded fabric headboard. The suite is accented with antique painted chests, pottery and cozy eyelid windows. The second room is a quaint sitting room, perfect for reading the morning paper over coffee or tea, doing a jigsaw puzzle, or just catching up with each other. There is a private ensuite bath with an antique claw-foot bathtub (bubble bath included, of course!) to which we have added an antique brass shower. Enclosed in an armoire, there is a flat screen LED TV with FIOS cable with over 300 channels of TV, movies and music. Free high speed Wi-Fi is included in this room and throughout the Inn.
Brimming with Federal period antiques and reproductions, Betty?s Suite is the embodiment of historical charm. A second room features a large sofa in which you can either lounge or convert into an extra queen-sized bed. Each room enjoys its own privacy with an entrance from the hallway. The private hall bathroom is found just a few steps from your door and boasts a tub and shower.
An artistic rendering of Main Street, Ellicott City in the middle 1800s, highlights the soft décor of this room, which has a beautiful queen size sleigh bed. Grand Marnier Fench Toast
A delicious breakfast dish with hand sliced egg challah bread which has been soaked in a mixture of eggs, cream, and orange liqueur. It is served piping hot with an Orange Rum Sauce to pour over the top. We usually accompany this with a smoked chicken and apple sausage. A guest favorite at the Wayside Inn!
