Elk Forge is a beautiful stone manor house built c.1760 nestled on 5 acres of wood and gardens along banks of the Big Elk Creek. We are located between Elkton, Maryland and Newark, Delaware in the serene village of Elk Mills. The area is rich with history and natural beauty and is less than three miles from I-95, twenty minutes to Wilmington Delaware. We are half-way between NYC and DC. We love to host meetings, weddings and receptions here. The property is extremely versatile and would be able to accomodate any other event type you can think of!

As we travel from Boston MA TO Raleigh NC to visit family for a Thanksgiving week, exact halfway is at the Elk Forge B&B! A lovely and welcoming resting spot, where each room is uniquely designed and decorated like a countryside estate. It takes you to a different time and place and they serves the best mix of homemade breakfast treats. The owners of the Inn, Harry and LeAnn Lenderman have thought of everything to consistently make our stay comfortable! Thanks to both of you! Ric and Denise Peterson

My Fiance and I stayed here for her birthday and we had a nice quiet and peaceful stay. We woke up to Scottish breakfast delight's and the blueberry waffles we're magnificent. I took her to dinner on her birthday at a nice pub a couple miles away and I ordered the romantic package. When we returned from dinner the room was layed out in rose pedals and tea candles and the bed was turned down and there was also a surprise gift package on the bed which had chocolate's, sparkling cider and other surprise's. My Fiance and I had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning. My Fiance refered to it as a Hallmark movie. We definitely will visit again!!!

We wish we had more time to enjoy this exceptional BnB with its giant sunroom and gorgeous outdoor trails. We arrived after dark on a blustery November evening; we were so grateful that the wind stayed outside and the indoors were warm and not drafty!! Our room key was right at the front table tucked in a darling little bag of chocolates with my name on it and a "welcome, pick up the phone here if you need ANYTHING; your room us up the stairs and around the corner." This made me smile and my 12 year old daughter joyous (for the chocolate of course.) Our room was charming (not a large one as we knew from the website) and absolutely everything we could ever need was in it, including ample power strips for computers (I had work to do) and iPads and phones. The room was spotless, including the bathroom. The bed was VERY comfortable and the sheets were very nice. Our host very kindly helped me find the best wifi to do a bit of work (Rural country is not Comcast's finest advertisement - I've seen this before as i'm sure you have; our host was persistent and sweet in solving, which he did.) There are several super highlights here: one is the sunroom - even in our dark-night arrival, the sunroom draws you in and transports you to another time, bright and garden-y. At breakfast the rolling hills reveal themselves in the morning sunlight. Even if you are not a walker, you'll feel as though you have tasted the outdoors. The breakfast is home-made with love and varied - someone bakes and cooks and then serves on very pretty old patterns of special dishware. And finally, the grounds and trails: truly lovely for strolls or longer walks. I snuck out while my daughter was still sleeping and all i'll tell you is I wanted stay all day or more. We shall definitely be back.

We visited here for our anniversary and were very pleased with our room and the surrounding grounds. Although the breakfast was better than in most hotels, the same dish was prepared for our two mornings and was not replenished on the second morning when it was finished by 8am. Also, sadly, for a bnb with a tea shoppe connected, there was only one type of tea (Earl Grey) on offer at breakfast and apparently nothing else available. Still, we very much enjoyed our stay!

This place is amazing, quaint and lovely. When you first walk in, it feels like you are home. It was surprisingly quiet, i assumed that being a B&B it would be a bit loud with people coming and going but it was actually not that at all. Each room has such character, the breakfast area is perfect, with the sun coming in through the glass windows and doors. You have decks to lounge in, areas where you can pick a book and read or just sit and enjoy "me" time. Everyone there makes you feel like family and no matter how busy they are they still take time and take care of your needs. I am definitely going back.
