I stayed here for 2 nights in early October 2016. The owners were extremely helpful through email before I chose to stay here and after I made my reservations. Once I arrived, the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners continued. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and then I was given ideas of where to visit in the area and what to see/visit. To my the most important thing about staying anywhere is the cleanliness, and the Bittersweet passed with flying colors. The common areas were cozy, and I was made to feel welcome to use them. The bedroom was clean and beautifully decorated. The rate was very reasonable. The grounds outside were breathtakingly beautiful. If I ever make it up to Maine (from Florida) again, I will definitely stay here.

We spent a Sunday and a Monday evening at this place and found it to be excellent. We were warmly greeted by Victor upon arrival and given the low down on the accommodations and security. The room was snug with a private bath, ceiling fan, and AC if we needed it. The bed was comfortable, the room and grounds were immaculate, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. As others have said, Victor's blueberry muffins are a wonderful treat! Most people choose to eat out on the wrap around deck near the beautiful flower beds. Victor also had great recommendations for dining and adventures in the area. We highly recommend this place! I wish this site allowed me to enter some "Outstanding" ratings but those were blocked.

Highly recommended! Beautiful house, beautiful setting, great location for things to do. Victor is just wonderful: I made a reservation in October, had to reschedule, then ended up canceling on the day due to panic about driving in snow for the first time. Victor was above and beyond nice about it, he allowed me to come for a night 6 months later based on the night I paid for when I cancelled. Not many businesses would do that! Lovely!

Victor and Ray are the owners and operators and they also restored this beautiful house. What a treat it was to find this B& B. We will go back again. The food and location could not have been better. We loved the Nubble Light House and it was a close drive away. We felt so welcome and were treated so well, it was an amazing stay! Thanks! My husband and I enjoyed a lovely night at Bittersweet Bed and Breakfast! The room was clean and comfortable. The innkeeper was friendly and accomodating, and even packed up some of his delicious blueberry muffins for us to take along when we left. We would definitely stay at Bittersweet again!

We recently stayed at the Bittersweet Inn and it was a very satisfying, relaxing visit. The rooms are immaculately clean. The breakfast food is superb, especially the blueberry muffins. Ray would not share his recipe!!! Enjoyced greatly!!! I would recommend this B&B.

After months of chatting on FB Bittersweet was the perfect meeting place for two people to meet for the first time. We were welcomed by a gracious host Victor. The breakfasts were delicious and served to us on the front porch of a period 10 room Farm House that takes you back to another era. The entire house was beautifully decorated with antique furniture and immaculatley kept. We loved everything about the location and the availability of walking to beaches and dining. Now that we are together we look forward to another memorable stay at our favorite B&B but most of all we long for Vioctor's homemade blueberry muffins!

We stayed at Bittersweet for two nights at the end of our seventeen day trip to New England. What a wonderful way to end our trip. The home is beautifully renovated and has just the right amount of decor to make it comfortable. Our rooms were good and the breakfast fine, not fancy. I have decided that all B&B 's should have a Keurig coffee machine to cater to those of us who need a bit more caffeine in the morning as well as whenever we want. It is always awkward to have to ask for the innkeeper to boil water for tea. Having an electric kettle would help as well.
All of our rooms are available at the same price. They all have a private bath. We also have Air conditioning in the rooms. WIFI is available throughout the property.
