Hurray for the Birchwood Inn!

5 on April 16, 2018

This was our first trip to the Berkshires and the Birchwood Inn and we were completely delighted. Our stay at the Birchwood was as pleasant and comfortable as can be, beginning with meeting the very hospitable Tom and Debbie, the innkeepers. We were originally expecting to stay in a sweet room in the carriage house, but because of a problem with the cable, we were graciously upgraded to a sensational room in the main house. Debbie's breakfasts were among the best we have ever had, as were the "sweet treats" she left out for afternoon tea and late night snacking. The inn is an easy walk to town for restaurants and a little shopping, and is also centrally located to all things Berkshires. We would highly recommend the Birchwood Inn. Thank you Tom and Debbie for a memorable stay!

A perfect place

We could not have asked for a better experience. Our hosts were charming, informative and great cooks. The inn itself was cozy and inviting and felt little Ken Home, were home to have a roaring fire and delicious snacks. We will be back!

Exceptional Inn

5 on January 24, 2018

We visited the Birchwood Inn for the first time and it exceeded our expectations in every respect. The Inn occupies the most historic house in Lenox, but is fully updated with modern conveniences. Debby and Tom leave no stone unturned and are thoughtful and gracious of hosts. We enjoyed warm fires in the library, expertly prepared breakfasts, wonderful sheets, towels and pillows, and a lovely and spacious room. Many thanks for a wonderful getaway - we look forward to returning. Caroline Griffin and Henry E. Dugan, Jr.

We made a last minute reservation but were welcomed warmly! We enjoyed an evening by the cozy fire in the library and the next morning's breakfast was amazing!

Memorable Stay

4.6 on November 20, 2017

Our stay at Birchwood Inn was memorable from start to finish. We were greeted as we arrived in the parking lot and our dog was greeted at the entrance with a welcome goody bag with biscuit. The common areas are beautiful and cozy - we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room, monopoly by the fireplace in the living room and cheese and wine on the porch. Off the kitchen is an area set up to use as you please - coffee, glasses, snacks, etc. Breakfast was so good - they accommodated my need for gluten free with a variety of breads and even cooked me gluten free french toast. Was so delicious. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. There was even a dog bed and bowl for our dog. Our only regret is booking a room with a bathroom across the common hall - we did not not this when booking. The bathroom was nice with a strong warm shower and all ours - our key even locked the door. But having a bathroom in our room would have been much easier, especially during the night and with our dog. Above all, the owners/staff at this inn is unbelievable. Just so warm, welcoming and accommodating. Tom and Debbie have this B&B ownership thing down to a tee! We look forward to returning.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind review and feedback. For any future bookers reading the comment about your bathroom, we have created a different class on for this room, which should help to inform potential bookers. The house is historic, and with that comes some limitations and lots of charm. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Fabulous Getaway

5 on October 30, 2017

We were first at the Birchwood Inn 14 years ago and we were back in 2017 to celebrate our anniversary/birthday. It is sometimes disappointing to try and relive a special time, but the new innkeepers, Tom and Debbie were wonderful and made our stay as good if not better than the first time. We would highly recommend the hospitality and accommodations.

A Gem

We have stayed in many B& Bs over the years but this one overshadows all the others. The rooms are unusually large, the food was outstanding. Vases in the community areas were filled with fresh flowers. Many nice touches throughout!Tom was kind enough to help with our luggage both on arrival and departure. Melanie Seigle

About the innkeepers

Tom and Debbie love their Inn. Buying the Birchwood Inn (June 2016) and leaving behind the life they knew in St. Louis, Missouri, was a complete leap-of-faith, that has met all of their expectations. They are truly enjoying their guests and the Berkshires. When time allows they both love to travel, try new restaurants and get together with family and friends.
