About

The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique set in historic Boston Harbor. It offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline and comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. It is easy to get around by foot, ferry or bus. Our houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, slight motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing sitting on your aft deck or dock watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle offers 3 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat that has two private suites(Loggerhead and Sea Turtle). Each has a kitchenette and en-suite bathroom/shower and dock chairs. Each sleeps 2 or rent both for 4 people. Green Turtle II is a 45ft. motor yacht and sleeps 2-6. She has 2 private queen staterooms , a full sleeper sofa , a galley, dinette a great aft deck with comfortable furniture. Green Turtle III is a 43ft. motor yacht which sleeps 4 in 2 queen staterooms, a salon, galley, dinette and aft deck with comfortable furniture. Your suite/yacht is stocked with gourmet coffee, tea, juice, water, granola, yogurt and snacks. We deliver fresh breakfast each morning to your door. All boats are docked in protected marina slips permanently moored during your stay.

Wonderful Weekend in Boston - November 2017

5 on November 16, 2017

Staying at the Green Turtle could not have been more enjoyable! The Charlestown marina is located in a absolutely, beautiful area and a short, refreshing walk to Bunker Hill, the USS Constitution and Warren's Tavern, as well as other sites. Boston's public transportation system is quite extensive so no need to rent a car if you stay here which is a huge savings. We took a water taxi directly from the airport to the Green Turtle and upon arrival received a very, warm welcome from Jon and Karen (innkeepers). Jon and Karen could not have been more hospitable...wonderful people! Karen is a great cook and breakfasts were so yummy. Jon's direction in navigating Boston was invaluable and his dining suggestions spot-on. Returning to the privacy and peacefulness of the marina was quite relaxing and enjoyable after a long day out in the city. The B&B is so quaint and charming...I would live to keep it a secret but that's just not fair. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Jon and Karen for a wonderful weekend in Boston!

Wonderful

My husband and I recently stayed at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast. We loved EVERYTHING about it. The location! Room! Serenity! Breakfast! Bed! And the view! Our son's ship was coming in to port, and we were fortunate to see the ship, as we looked out the window! We would certainly love to stay here again.

A NICE GET AWAY

The highlight of our stay in Boston

5 on October 27, 2017

From the moment John met us at the end of 13th St we knew we were onto a good thing. He was so friendly and welcoming, brilliant with the kids and has an overflowing charm. Karen is also delightful and gave the children a lovely bracelet each to take home! The boat was spacious and beautifully maintained, and any concerns we had about beds and bathrooms were short lived asthe plumbing worked fine and the beds were big and comfy. Waking up to the most beautiful sunrise in Boston Harbour was very special indeed, and will be a lasting memory for all of us, as will sitting on the poopdeck in the morning sunshine to eat our delicious breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble. It was also super easy to get around Boston with the ferry so close (so much more enjoyable than sitting in the terrible Boston traffic). We had ten days in the US in Boston and New York, and packed in so many wonderful experiences and tourist sights, but each of the children would put the Green turtle B&B in their top 3 US experiences. Up there with whale watching, the One World Observatory and MOMA. Well done John and Karen for creating something truly unique. We will be back. Love from the Molony family!

Very special place!

A very special experience! Jon and Karen are wonderful hosts...provided great info on nearby places to eat, and the boat was immaculately clean. Good, hearty breakfast, too! A different kind of place to stay for those special occasions! Thank you, Jon and Karen!

Wonderfully Different

We were very happy spending our anniversary weekend at Green Turtle. Jon and Karen are the most gracious innkeepers, who are focused on your comfort and enjoyment of your time with them. We stayed in the houseboat, which was so comfortable with the gentle motion of the water. The location in the harbor is quiet and peaceful, with wonderful outdoor seating to relax and watch the sunset, as well as enjoying the morning sun with your coffee and the delicious breakfasts delivered each morning. We would book the Green Turtle again.....loved it!

A wonderful alternative to a hotel!

I was in town for a conference and all of the decent Boston hotels were either sold out or very expensive. After a lot of searching, I found The Green Turtle. I'd never stayed on a yacht let alone been on one but I'm open to new adventures and the reviews were great! I was not disappointed. Fantastic location, unique accommodations and, most importantly, the hosts, Karen and Jon, were attentive, cheerful and lovely. I highly recommend the Green Turtle and intend to return!

Fun place to stay

5 on September 26, 2017

Great fun staying on a houseboat. We were able to walk almost everywhere from the boat: the north end, USS Constitution Museum, lots of restaurants. Loved being rocked to sleep at night. Our hosts were fabulous, gave us tons of information about things to see and do as well as restaurant recommendations. We were there when Jose threatened the coast and our hosts had a plan to move us if the hurricane came too close but that turned out to be unnecessary. Breakfasts were plentiful, tasty, and filling.
