Great place to stay

4.8 on January 08, 2018

My husband and I recently spent two nights at the Terrell House Bed and Breakfast. We loved our stay. The room was clean, lovely and well-appointed. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. We would go back in a minute and highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Pleasant experience at Terrel House in New Orleans.

5 on January 01, 2017

We attended our grandson's wedding last week and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Arthur greeted us at the front door and gave us a detailed tour of the Terrel House. He checked us in and assisted unloading our car. All meals were excellent, especially the wedding reception. We're looking forward to our next visit in 2017. Staff went above and beyond to take care of our needs. Stella was pleasant in her role as the house dog and protector.

A very nice room in a distinctive house. The only negative was the seriously out-of-date shower head that emitted a stinging thin stream of water on the body which could not be adjusted. I can't recall a more uncomfortable shower experience even in a budget motel. Even the room next to ours had a better shower head.

Spring Break at the Terrell House!

4.2 on March 17, 2015

My college roommate and I stayed at the Terrell house for our spring break roadtrip to New Orleans. It was a great deal and we were very impressed with the beauty of the main house and our rooms. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here!

Anniversary trip

My husband and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary by spending the weekend in new Orleans and staying at the Terrell House. The staff was wonderful and did a great job at making us feel right at home. The house was absolutely beautiful but also very comfortable and the food was amazing! We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely stay again.

Fall Visit to Burnsville

5 on October 29, 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Terrell House in Burnsville while visiting friends and looking at property in the area. While we have visited Burnsville on several occasions, this was our first time staying at the Terrell House. We could not have been happier. The inn keepers were not only outstanding hosts, they have become new friends and ones we will want to see again when we visit the area. Mike and Laura were gracious, knowlegeable, and extremely helpful. When we had an issue withh our car the day before we were scheduled to depart, they both offered their time to help us out in any matter they could. We are already looking forward to our next visit, and it most certainly will include staying at the Terrell House. P.S. for Mike. Perhaps the next UF game we watch together will turn out differently! Room was cute and comfy. Breakfast was super delicious - a lot better than we expected. The setting is elegant but comfortable. We took the St. Charles line which was 3 blocks away. Neigborhood felt safe.

A New Orleans Gem

We had a wonderful experience. We would encourage everyone to visit and stay in this exquisite one of a kind historic home. We will definitely visit in the future. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and courteous. This turn of the century remarkable house was rehabilitated with high end amenities’, every space has been updated, and it has been modernized with beautifully appointed bathrooms and kitchens, and air conditioning. The decoration and the ambient are very sophisticated with an eclectic—historical period style with beautiful antiques, paintings, and elegant curtains. Every space is kept up in style and super, super clean. The courtyard is great space to hang out after breakfast or in the late afternoon before going to dinner. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite home across from the large home. Our suite had a small living room, kitchenette, and a modern bathroom with white linen, large dove soap, large dove shampoo, and beautiful curtains. Our suite just is lovely, the A/C worked perfectly. The breakfasts are delicious, with 100% white linen place mats and napkins, starched and ironed, real silverware, elegant plates, glasses and goblets. We could not wait for the next day to see what our chef had in store for us for our morning meal. The location is perfect, in a quiet neighborhood without the bustle of the downtown, a unique place, not like the run of the mill cookie cutter large hotels. It is within walking distant from the bus or trolley to the French quarter, a walk to the Convention Center. We discovered a beatnik artistic style neighborhood just a walk away. In this up and coming neighborhood we enjoyed the art studios of young artists, antiques shops with wonderful pieces, and scrumptious foods in unique restaurants.

The breakfasts are to die for!

Breakfast each morning was served at a time convenient to me; fresh biscuits, eggs of all different kinds, grits, and hand cut fruit. I was so spoiled it was hard to come home. The service was outstanding; if I needed anything, someone was there in a second. When I arrived mid-evening and asked about finding a liquor store, the owner gave me a bottle of wine! I was there for a conference, it's an easy walk to the Convention Center and in the wonderful lower garden district in the Magazine St. neighborhood. I can't wait to go back. Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful stay!

The Best of NOLA

Elegant, comfortable, beautifully restored home...the essence of fine Southern living. Miss Linda, the proprietor, is the consummate hostess. She and her staff are solely focused on the comfort of their guests. Wonderful food, beautifully served. The gracious period mansion and lush courtyards provide perfect indoor and outdoor living space. A short walk down Magazine St is a collection of eclectic shops to explore and friendly venues for dining. Terrell House is not just a place to sleep, it's the fabric of the New Orleans experience. Don't miss it!

Absolutely Perfect!

5 on February 18, 2009

My husband and I flew in in from Chicago to stay over Valentine's Day weekend. Our flight was several hours late and so we didn't get in until after 3:00 am. Linda (proprietor) woke up to welcome us and let us in. Despite the late hour she was extremely friendly and hospitable. That was pretty much reflective of the entire weekend. For starters, the house is absolutely gorgeous. We felt so decadent surrounded by antiques in this grand mansion. Everything we could possible want was provided for, from the delicious breakfast (Linda's scones are out of this world), to the waters and sodas that were replaced without charge. The location in divine, steps from St. Charles and moments from all the boutiques on Magazine St. We were able to see all the parades, but weren't disturbed by the Mardi Gras chaos. All and all, it is the most perfect place we have ever stayed. We plan on returning for next Valentine's Day!

Loved it -- Did not want to leave!

5 on April 30, 2008

This house has been meticulously restored. The attention to every detail is incredible, and they made us feel so welcome! We stayed during the first weekend of JazzFest, and we loved it. We were able to walk a few short blocks to Melpomene and St. Charles to catch the streetcar to the Jazzfest. We loved the fresh flowers in our room, the courtyard, and Linda's cooking (her grits are the best ever!) is so good, that's what got us up and going in the morning! I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it! I will definitely stay at Terrell House again!

Home Sweet Home

5 on March 24, 2008

This was my first trip to New Orleans - our little group reserved rooms during the Prudential Real Estate Convention. What a blessing to feel like you were coming home at the end of a long day. Linda wouldn't let me help with the dishes, but she fed me the most heavenly breakfasts, our room beautiful - very clean and the decor was simply elegant everywhere. Enjoyed meeting other guests over breakfast and the quiet retreat in the courtyard with the fountain. Easy walk to Lefitte's BBQ. I've been recommending it to everyone and hope to be back someday. Thanks Linda !

Dear Laura, Pam, and Wes, Not sure which of you wrote the review to bed and breakfast.com but thank you very much. I promise to get the recipes to you soon. Hope you had a safe trip home and will be back for another visit to New Orleans soon. Thank you, Linda

New Orleans Like Always ...

5 on November 04, 2007

can still be found at the Terrell House. This is the most elegant B&B we've ever stayed in, and could be included in a family of exclusive listings of small inns from around the globe. This quite and safe compound is an oasis for traveler who is on the business road - like we were - or on a visit for relaxation. We want to come back and just stroll and shop on Magazine street and eat!

Fabulous and Relaxing

5 on March 29, 2007

We loved the Terrell House. It was so comfortable and Linda is a great hostess. Breakfasts were divine. We like to walk so we walked to the French Qtr and the Garden District from the property. Those who don't like to walk may find it far from the French Quarter, but it's a quick cab ride. We'll be back for sure!

A gem in the Garden District

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Terrell House in Feb. 07 while attending a convention. The convention center is only a 6 block walk which is closer than most hotels. Linda O'Brien is a gracious host and wonderful cook. The accommodations were tastefully furnished with many antiques and original edition books in the library. We highly recommend a stay at the Terrel House!
