About

A peaceful and private hideaway, just blocks from New Orleans' famous French Quarter! Each room in this beautifully restored 1850s Creole home is hand painted by a local artist, and several have private entrances onto our tropical courtyard. Located in the historic Faubourg Marigny, our neighborhood is home to Frenchmen Street with its jazz music clubs, bars, art galleries, and fine dining. We are a 9-block stroll (or 2-minute cab ride) from the French Quarter. Enjoy our complimentary breakfast (featuring freshly-baked goodies) in the parlor or courtyard, before heading out on your adventures!

Home Away from Home

5 on May 12, 2017

Without doubt the best B&B we've stayed in. Anywhere. Well located away from the hustle and bustle, but a pleasant walk into town through a charming area. Jessica, our hostess, was superb: pleasant, helpful and knowledgable, without being obtrusive. Breakfast was different every day and had everything you could wish for. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in New Orleans.

Nice people at the inn... We enjoyed the stay at Sweet Olive. Walking distance to most everything.

Weekend in NO

4.0 on March 30, 2017

Had a wonderful weekend in New Orleans and the staff at Auld Sweet Olive made me feel right at home. They were very helpful in suggestions on dining and transportation and things to do. The rooms were very comfortable and the neighborhood very quiet. The only things I would suggest is that their at least be one TV somewhere on premise. I am there to unwind but I still would have liked to have access to one. Also, I am a early riser and there was no coffee available until 8 am.

A wonderful and romantic place with great atmosphere

It was our second stay(after 2014) at the Auld Sweet Olive and we were thrilled just like the first time, and as due to cancellations we were the only guest for 3 days,we felt like kings in this wonderful house. Outstanding the daily fresh breakfast, freshly made cakes, muffins, ciche, eggs in the basket, provided by Jessica, who runs the place. She and Nancy, the owner, made us feel at home every day!

The innkeeper, Jennifer, was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful in our navigation of the city.

Fabuleux séjour

5 on February 13, 2017

Love Auld Sweet Olive

5 on February 07, 2017

We absolutely love Auld Sweet Olive B&B. We have stayed there the last two times we were in NOLA. The rooms are great, the breakfast is wonderful, staff is always friendly and helpful. Close walking to the French Quarter and trolley lines. We felt very safe walking the neighborhood at night. It feels like home! - S.Martin, Medford Oregon.

Christmas at Sweet Olive

5 on December 30, 2016

We are repeat visitors to Sweet Olive. Alison, the new innkeeper, is doing a wonderful job keeping everything up to Owner Nancy's high standards! It's a treasure in an eclectic neighborhood with plenty to offer on its own and an easy uber ride to the French Quarter. Can't wait to try out the Rampart Streetcar on my next trip.

Sweet, Sweet Olive Delight

This a beautiful oasis in the midst of an eclectic neighborhood. Good access to health market across the street, St Roch Market, a modern day food court based on an old market hall with unique high quality vendors. Saving the best for last: Alison, the innkeeper was a wealth of information, and had all the qualities necessary for providing outstanding hospitality. I've stayed in some lovely bed and breakfasts ... this experience topped them all. Will stay again. If you like "walking a city" you can't find a more strategic location. Close to the quarter, Bywater, and yet the peacefulness of a neighborhood.
