Royal Street Courtyard

2438 Royal Street , New Orleans, LA 70117 USA (Show map)

You're greeted with stately columns and regal galleries. Inside, the charm of antebellum New Orleans surrounds you. This grand Greek Revival house of the 1850's exudes both the elegance and decadence of old Creole Louisiana. With soaring 14-foot ceilings and intricate, hand-crafted cypress trim, your room is a respite from the bustle of the street. Some feature 4-poster king beds, others queen and full sized beds. All have private baths. An intimate courtyard invites you to relax in our soothing spa surrounded by tropical greenery and yet you're close to the action. Just six blocks from the French Quarter, a 15 minute stroll to the non-stop energy of Bourbon Street. Fine restaurants, famous jazz clubs and sidewalk cafes are literally a short walk from our front door. Royal Street Courtyard, where you're at home in New Orleans.

The best place to stay in New Orleans--Philip and David are wonderful!

4.6 on October 11, 2016

This is my go-to place when I visit New Orleans! Philip and David are perfect hosts, and have wonderful suggestions on sights and restaurants. It's in the Marigny, just a short walk to Frenchmen Street and the Quarter, and a great place to come "home" to at the end of the day. I cannot recommend Royal Street Courtyard enough!

Wonderful B&B

The B&B Royal Street Courtyard is located in a pretty old creole style villa. High ceilings, a lot of paintings on the walls, a beautiful lush courtyard with a great jacuzzi; this is the perfect place to relax during a visit to New Orleans. The owners, Philip and Dave, are extremely helpful with advices about everything from restaurants, bars, swamp tours etc. Royal Street Courtyard has a perfect location in a pretty neighbourhood with a lot of fantastic creole villas and it's just 5 minutes from the French Quarter.

NOLA Livin

4.0 on September 11, 2016

Nothing much to say, the place was beautiful, quiet, though close to everything. A lot to do around, eating and drinking. Phillip was really helpful, he told me about interesting places to go as soon as I arrived, he had an answer for every question I asked. A must go in NOLA.

Amazing Experience

We booked at the Royal Street Courtyard as we wanted to stay in a traditional setting within easy access of the French Quarter. We were not disappointed! We are a family party and EVERYONE was really happy! The location was perfect, clean, excellent facilities, easy reach of everything, very safe and our hosts added the most important part. We only had 3 day and Phillip's guide to local restaurants and suggestions for tours gave us time to enjoy the whole New Orleans' experience. Would highly recommend - and would always stay here if we get the chance to return. Thank you both so much from all of us. We travelled a long way and were not disappointed.

First time to NOLA... Unbelievable experience

4.8 on June 15, 2016

Before booking our trip I did tons of online research trying to find the best bang for our buck: location, service, reviews from other guests, etc. these guys are as good as it gets. When we arrived Phillip spent a solid hour showing us the property, giving us a brief history of the building/neighborhood, and hand making us a map of the city. He offered so many fantastic suggestions for dining and activities and not once were we let down. They truly care about the guest experience and put forth every effort to ensure you'll have a great time and have a memorable trip. We stay at B&B's all over the place and honestly, this was the best of the best. Also, as far as being in the right place for great local dining, easy walking to everything, and cool people to talk with you will not find a better location. We never had to drive a single time in four days. I promise Royal Street Courtyard will NoT disappoint. Do it :) cheers

Excellent B & B

5 on June 01, 2016

My husband and I recommend this B & B to all travelers visiting New Orleans. The owners are super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. They'll tell you what is worth doing/seeing and give great dining recommendations. The location is walking distance to the French Quarter sites and public transportation, and just far enough outside the busy touristy area to give you the neighborhood feel. We loved our 2nd floor room with access to the balcony. If ever in the city again we would definitely stay there.

Very enjoyable first visit to New Orleans

Since friends had stayed here in the past and highly recommended the Royal Street Courtyard, we already had high expectations and we were not disappointed.

Fabulous stay!

We visited Royal Street Courtyard earlier this month, and had a wonderful visit! Philip and David are wonderful hosts. They are there to greet the arrivals and provide a map of the neighborhood explaining where everything is - from the fun things to do as a visitor, to the neighborhood breakfast spots. It's only 10 minutes to the Quarter and stumbling distance from Frenchmen Street. The B&B is in a wonderful old house, with spacious and surprisingly quiet rooms. The yard is awesome to hang out in, with a swing chair and a hot tub, and the porch is great to people watch from. (If you get the room with the detached bathroom - they have robes!) The house cat might come up for the odd cuddle. There is a 24 hr convenience store 2 blocks away if you forget anything, or realize you need sunscreen. Overall we have a fabulous trip to New Orleans and can't wait to come back! Rik and Tatiana.
