  • 8 slices Hearty bread, cubed (cut frozen - easier to cut!)
  • 4 Large farm fresh eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup Whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup Blueberries (other berries in season as you prefer)
  • Topping
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Maple syrup or Clover honey

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray and fill with cubed bread.
  2. Scald the milk. Blend eggs, brown sugar and vanilla in blender. Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture while blender is still running. This stops the milk from cooking the eggs. Pour the milk/egg mixture over the eggs and top with berries.
  3. In a small sauce pan combine topping ingredients and bring to a simmer until the mixture begins to thicken. Pour over the bread and berries attempting to drizzle over the entire top.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the bread is golden brown and a knife comes out clean. Dish can be prepared the night before - just put the berries and topping on right before it goes in the oven. Mmmmmmm!
