  • 2 fresh crabs
  • 1 bay leaves, 1 for each crab
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • drawn butter
  • fresh lemon


  1. In a large kettle, bring water to a rolling boil. Add a bay leaf for each crab to be cooked and one tablespoon salt to the boiling water.
  2. Place as many live crabs into the boiling water as will easily fit into the kettle. Boil crabs for 25 minutes.
  3. Remove crabs from the boiling water and rinse under cold water until they are cool. Remove backs, gills, and innards. Crack Crabs and serve with drawn butter and lemon.
