Best place we have stayed

Me and my wife usually stay in hotels but per recommendation we tried the Oakview Bed and Breakfast for 4 nights and was absolutely blown away with the hospitality and comfort ability Russell provided us... he has a beautiful home with marvelous rooms and always has a smile on his face... the location of his house is perfectly located across from the park and right next to the trolley... amazing breakfast was prepared for us... and around the clock service available... we will be staying at the Oakview Bed and Breakfast every time we are in town... -Mr. & Mrs. McGlocklin-

Mardi Gras Stay at Oakview

5 on March 03, 2018

We had a wonderful stay at Oakview. It is an old house in a quiet area across from City Park. Easy access to free parking, including the private driveway, public transportation, and very walkable. The rooms were very spacious and beds comfortable. It’s a great value. The owners go out of their way to accommodate the needs of their guests. Great breakfasts, complimentary beverages. I would note that with all older homes, there are sometimes quirks and things that need a little tweaking, but the owners are very responsive and helpful if there are any issues - just ask. They take your comfort and satisfaction very personally and do all the can to please their guests. I am so happy to have discovered Oakview and definitely plan to stay again.

A pleasant stay in a quaint Bed and Breakfast in City Park, New Orleans

Oakview Bed and Breakfast is in a perfect location across from City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art. It is also a five minute walk to the trolley. Aside from its favorable location, the property is very quaint, clean, and extremely comfortable. But most of all the service is what stood out during our stay. The innkeeper, Russell, does everything possible to make your stay most enjoyable. Breakfast is delicious and hearty, which includes his amazing homemade biscuits. I would highly recommend staying at the Oakview during your next trip to New Orleans.

I thought it was to good to be true, but it wasn't

4.8 on November 18, 2017

When I started looking to book a hotel room in New Orleans for my sister's wedding I was shocked to see how expensive the rooms were. Never before had I been asked to pay $200-$300 a night for a Holiday Inn! So when I decided to look at bed and breakfast's I was delighted to find Oakview at half the price. Being a New Orleans native (though I have since moved away) I was further surprised to see that it was in such great location! I thought there must be some catch that a great guest house in such a fantastic location would be at such a great price. So I decided to call Russell. After a 20 minute conversation that was initially just to confirm the price, the availability, and if there was vegetarian breakfast, I was sold. Russell told me all about the history of the place, his experiences as an innkeeper, and he raved about the biscuits. As a New Orleanian, I knew that I would be in good hands. I booked the room right there on the phone. When I arrived last Friday, I was astounded. Russell was there at door to welcome me and my partner. He gave us a tour of the home, made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us time to settle in. The room was much larger than expected and the bed was luxurious. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and the biscuits lived up to the hype (don't tell my mom, but they are better than her biscuits). For the price, the locations, rooms, and service were exceptional. Since it was a bed and breakfast I knew that I shouldn't expect daily room service, but the room was spotless when I arrived and I had plenty of towels for my two night stay. I will definitely stay there the next time my partner are in New Orleans.
