We stayed here for an early Valentines day weekend and I couldn't be happier. The room was clean and unique (with an amazing spa tub) and the food and hostess were both wonderful. I will be recommending this to my friends and family for the next time they are in the area.

We had such a lovely weekend. Loved the decor of our room. This place has charm and personality that you won't find at the sterilized cookie cutter hotel chains. Our hostess was wonderful and I wish we could have sat on the porch and talked for a couple more hours. Hope to make a return visit again soon as there is a lot to do in the surrounding area.

The ca 1911 Montgomery Inn BnB is a location to be treasured. It is homey, comfortable, and friendly. Shannon, who was managing during our stay, was anticipatory and attentive to every need. She even personally accommodated a special breakfast request all three mornings we were there. This is a highly recommended destination. The Inn's convenience to good dining in Versailles (e.g., Ricardo's and Napa Prime) as well as Midway (e.g., Heirloom and the HollyHill Inn), plus Keeneland (!) and the University of KY sports venues make it a great hub as well as a place for connecting and re-connecting. If you want to brake your life-speed to an enjoyable pace -- this is the BnB you want.

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary getaway. The owners were so friendly. We stayed in the Foxhunt Room and The room looked like it does in the picture and was lovely with the most comfortable mattress we've slept on anywhere we've stayed. The breakfast tasted great and truly filled us up. We would stay here again.
Such a pleasure having you! Just don't wait 20 years to return! LOL

The owners let us check in early due to bad weather and being on a motorcycle. They were extremely accommodating to the circumstances and we really appreciated that!
We love that we could accommodate you! Thanks for your kind review!!

Everything about our stay was very nice. However , the back porch of our room was in desperate need of painting and did not make it inviting to sit outside. Also, the cats roaming around trying to get inside were bothersome.
Thank you so much for reviewing us! We have revamped the porch with fresh paint and new furnishings. I regret we didn't get it done before your visit but thank you for your honesty-we take your comments seriously and have made improvements. It is true, there are 3 cats on the property. We are neighbors to an open field and without them we would have mice. We strive to keep them away from folks with allergies or dislike, but because so many love on them they are very affectionate. We ask that guests not encourage them to come inside for this reason.

Next time you are in the Lexington area be sure to visit this quaint, welcoming inn. The innkeeper Pam is very accommodating and our young family (with children ages 4.5 and 2.5) had a great time in the spacious Tara suite. Breakfasts in the morning are delicious and huge, and there are board games and other activities in the inn as well to pass the time in the evening or a rainy day. If you are a cat lover there are several in the house, and very friendly. I have cat allergies but didn't have any issues, as the inn is kept clean and the cats aren't allowed in the guest rooms. Highly recommend you visit.
Awww, thank you! We enjoyed your family! We do have 3 cats, indoor/outdoor. For those with allergies, the English Suite is on the wing with a private entrance and hard surfaced floors. We strive to keep the Inn allergy friendly and have an Oreck air purifier available on request. The original house is now 106 and has been home to many pets over the decades. They also help keep the mice from the neighboring field away. For those with children, it is helpful to contact us, and we will assist you in choosing a suite. There are times (during the horse races) that we discourage small children. Lots of grownup activity and a very full inn inhibit the ability to provide a child friendly atmosphere. But most of the time it's a wonderful family home away from home.

My boyfriend and I spent one night in the Fox Trot room while making our way through the Bourbon Trail and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the ca 1911 Montgomery Inn. The room was comfortable and well-decorated with antique furnishings, and we were more than happy to take advantage of the in-suite Jacuzzi and "thirsty" bathrobes. The charming front porch is equipped with a swing and plenty of sitting areas to relax with a bottle of wine. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, the inn is situated in a residential neighborhood -- but it's also quite convenient to the quaint little downtown area of Versailles, only a half-mile from the town center. Pam, the innkeeper was a delight, and we stayed up late talking on the back porch and hearing of her past and future adventures -- a brave, fascinating, and accomplished woman. The breakfast we received in the morning far exceeded our expectations and -- since it was a Wednesday and we were the only ones there -- the meal was customized to our tastes. We left full and well-rested.

The Montgomery Inn is close to many attractions in the Lexington area. Breakfast was good, just served later that we were use to we like to eat earlier, but we adjusted. Pam was very helpful and accommodating as we had added an extra night. We had the Colonial room, very nice, bathroom is wonderful. This room is in the front of the house by the front porch, where one can hear everything if people are sitting outside there. That is the only drawback of this room.

My boyfriend and I went to the Montgomery in for our anniversary! IT was an amazing experience, the room was wonderful, clean and very well decorated. The breakfast was outstanding, delicious and fresh. The owner was very nice and was always worried if we had had enough food over the meal and if we had a good night of sleep. I would recommend anyone that is planning to stay in versailles to stay on this place, it is totally worth it.
So glad you enjoyed yourselves! Thank you for the glowing recommendation. Come again soon!

A very charming bed & breakfast. Nice property and excellent rooms. The location is a little odd as it is nestled in a suburban neighborhood. Also, I was expecting to interact with other guests more, but it was a more keep to yourself atmosphere. All & all, our first bed and breakfast experience was a success!

An amazing experience with delicious food, charming company, and lavishly comfortable room all made us both regret leaving, but also looking forward to our next chance to visit. And get the romance package! Arriving to a plate of lushious chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of champagne, and flowers added something really special. And the 3 course dinner the owner prepared was sensational! A definite must, regardless of occasion!
Many Happy Returns! So glad the Romance Package rounded out your experience. We love to help you celebrate!

We stayed in the Tuscan room. I loved that we had our own entrance off the parking lot so we didn't disturb other people by getting "home" a little late. This Inn is the perfect distance away from the hustle but close enough to be able to visit some of the distilleries and horse farms. Breakfasts were fabulous. My husband was anticipating the waffles because we had heard how good they were and he was very happy. Inn keepers were great. Very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

I have stayed at multiple B&Bs and this was by far the most disappointing. First off our room was basically a built in addition and was not inside the main house. This was not clear on the website as it takes away part of the fun of staying at a B&B. Everything was outdated, not kept up, and dingy. There was no hand soap, water, or coffee in the room. The dining room had cat hair on the table and the breakfast was very similar to what I am used to getting at a Days Inn. I want to end by saying this would have been expected from a cheaper B&B but when I pay 200+ for 1 night, I expect more. Needless to say I won't be going back to Montgomery Inn.
I would love to address your concerns. Please call me.

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at the Montgomery Inn BnB. Our rooms were beautiful, spacious, and clean. Breakfasts were delicious. The only downside is for people who do not like, or are allergic to, cats. There are four felines who roam in and out of the house. I love cats, so I did not mind.
Thank you for reviewing us--so glad you enjoyed your stay! We do have cats-very friendly cats. I am attempting to construct a barrier that will keep them out of the main house and restricted to my quarters, but when they go outside, guests have a tendency to let them back in. We do have suites on the wing with private entrances and air purifiers. It is something we are working on.

This was our first stop on our 2400 mile road trip and probably our favorite! Our hostess saw to our comfort and the family cats saw to the hospitality! We loved it! We stayed in the Tara suite and other than not having a "shower" per se, everything was marvelous! Not the least of which was breakfast in the morning. Pam has ruined all other waffles for me in perpetuity! She's a spectacular hostess! The house felt like home, but better! We'll be back--and we hope the cats will all still be there!
Thank you-thank you! Your family is so wonderful!! I am so sorry--the Tara does have a shower--I didn't realize you didn't see it or know how to work it--my bad. The dark print wallpaper in the bath is a bit of a disguise. So glad you enjoyed yourselves!

The ca 1911 Montgomery Inn is a wonderfully quirky, welcoming, and very special place to rest and relax. My wife and I have stayed in multiple BnBs both domestically and in other countries for a long time. The (ca 1911) Montgomery Inn is the favorite. The comfortable, quirky rooms, the welcoming and attentive staff, the great food, and the general atmosphere all combine to make it a very special place. We also notice that the guests we meet in comfortable circumstances transition to friends -- even if only the duration of a weekend -- in short order. Highly recommended.
Thank you! We enjoy getting to meet you!

The hospitality was exceptional; staff is very pleasant, thoughtful, and fun. Certainly made us feel like we were at home and the breakfast was delicious. The bedding sheets and comforters were sufficient, but for the quality of the B&B they should be replaced; kind of worn. Great place to stay; treated us well.

For the price, I expected this room (Tuscan Suite) to be much better. Room was shabby, bedspread looked dirty, toiletries in bath were shared bottles. Outside grounds needed work. Would not recommend.
So sorry you were not satisfied--my number is 859-251-4103 if you would like to talk about it. We have been working on the grounds, and we now provide Gilchrist & Soames individual toiletries. The Tuscan was totally gutted and renovated with all new bedding so I'm a little at a loss there, perhaps it is not the style you were expecting. Each suite is different, perhaps another would suit you better.

My husband and I were celebrating his birthday with a trip to Lexington for an Eagles concert. As a surprise I decided to book a B&B. I chose Montgomery Inn because all rooms offered a Jacuzzi /jetted tub and went with the Tuscan Suite. The room was ‘cute’ but sloppy and worn. The accents faded, pillows flat, ceramic tiles loose (without any throw rugs to ‘warm’ up the room), shower curtain missing hooks, mismatched towels, spider webs, robes with yellow stains, sloppy paint trims, etc. The worst part of the room was the fact that late in evening when we went to use the tub the jets were corroded with dirt and/or rust. Even after running some time we couldn’t get the water clear enough to feel comfortable to use the tub. We looked forward to breakfast, as I had read favorable reviews of the tremendous ‘gourmet’ breakfast. The ambience similar to the room, spider webs, dust, sloppy paint trims and a buffet with generic coffee with generic creamers, fresh fruit, nuts, yogurt, sausage patties, bacon strips, quiche and waffles. The hot food was set on was not able to keep the quiche, meat or waffles warm. Not terrible, but definitely not gourmet, many three star hotels are providing the same, if not more at a lesser cost. When I checked out, I was terribly disappointed to only receive weak apology, when showing the innkeeper the pictures of the debris that came out of the jets. I would have thought a discount or an offer to stay in the future would have been extended. Not that I would have taken it, but it would have made the apology more sincere.
I would be happy to talk with you. My number is 859-251-4103.

Lovely stay and delicious breakfast at the Montgomery Inn. We chose a lower priced room and the bathroom was rather small, but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We have stayed twice at the Montgomery Inn. Both have been very nice experiences. It has its minor moments, but the host tries her hardest to make your stay an enjoyable experience. If you are high maintanence, go else where, but if you are laid back and enjoy a truly welcoming experience, this is the place for you.
Thank you for reviewing us and for being a return guest. It's true we are unique and a little quirky at times, we do strive to give each guest a great stay every visit. Thanks again!

My husband and I stayed here on the evening of the Oaks and went to the Derby the following day. The Montgomery Inn B&B was charming and a wonderful experience. The inn owner was warm and friendly and, as it was my first time staying in a B&B, the experience made me want to look for more B&B's in the future to enjoy! My only regret was we had such a little time to spend in the area enjoying the amenities.

We stayed at the Montgomery Inn BnB on a spring break vacation. The rooms were lovely, and the owner showed true Southern hospitality. The meals were wonderful - we felt spoiled by the breakfast each morning. We stayed in a lovely room that was well appointed. My wife and I had a fantastic weekend getaway stay at the Inn. The rooms were clean, service was friendly, and it was relaxing experience. We had the room at the bottom of the stairs. We're both heavy sleepers so it wasn't a bother for us; however, if you sleep lightly, I recommend you stay in another room. The sound of people going up/down the steps and in/out the front door (or on the front porch) has the potential to wake you. Overall, a great experience at the Inn. We would definitely stay again.

Very spacious rooms. Pam is a great cook and made our breakfasts to order - fabulous! The Inn has a restaurant Wed.-Sun. that we didn't have a chance to visit, but menu looked great! Inn is 10 miles off I-64. Room was lovely, but lacked some amenities we've had in other B&Bs., no individual soaps or shampoos, no snacks or coffee/tea in the room. Did have TV, DVD player and fireplace in the room and loads of DVDs in the main check-in area. Old house with unusual layout. Quite unique - we like that, but others may be used to more traditional B&Bs.

My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at this b&b. Our room, nautical themed king on 1st floor, was spacious and a fun theme. There were a few small 'quirky' issues with the room, but that is to be expected at any b&b room and ultimately didn't take away from the experience. Both breakfasts was very tasty and plentiful and the staff were very friendly. The innkeepers mostly kept to themselves so we felt we had a lot of privacy during our stay. The location was absolutely perfect for hitting the Eastern portion of the KY bourbon trail. The town is located in the middle of the actual horse country (not as prolific as you'd think). Be sure to drive from the inn over to Midway for the best scenic drive. Overall great experience and would highly recommend.

The Montgomery Inn hosted my wife and I as we celebrated her birthday by re-connecting with one of her dear friends. We enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, period furnishings and décor, comfortable areas to play cards and have wine and cheese, porch swing, hearty but elegant breakfast, and great patience of our hostess and her staff. Wonderful stay. Lovely room w a huge soaking tub and on demand hot water so it never ran out!! Fantastic responsiveness to customer request - initially the bed was a bit firm for my taste but I mentioned it to the owner and that evening there was a memory foam topper on the bed. I had a business conference at the castle and it took about 10minutes in "heavy" traffic. This would also be a fantastic location for anyone attending Rolex. There's a fridge for the guests in a small common area as well. Now for the gluten free portion of the review -- If you aren't GF you will never notice - the food is delicious. However if you are GF you will probably become emotionally overcome at the realization you can order literally anything on the menu - including dessert! - without risk of being glutened. (She also runs a GF restaurant, her kitchen is dedicated GF so no risk for X-contamination. Restaurant serves dinner W-S but Pam is GF herself and will give you good recommendations on where to go other nights.) Great stay!

This is a small and quaint BnB with fantastic owners not to mention delicious food. The restaurant part of the bnb is still quite new in terms of mechanics, hence be patient when you are dining there but you gotta try the food. Definitely worth the wait. Pam (Innkeeper) is a great chef and she can cook up anything you want as long as she has the ingredients. We had some awesome Chocolate Pecan waffles for breakfast one morning. The rooms are very spacious especially the bathrooms. We had a great time and several laughs with Pam and her husband. Pam made sure we had everything that we needed and she made us feel very at home. If you like conversation, want to get to know a few people, have great food and a comfortable stay then you gotta try out 1911 Montgomery Inn. You will leave with great memories!

Our stay at the Montgomery Inn was delightful. The room was relaxing and gave us a wonderful respite. We had the room with the in-room two person jacuzzi, what a great bonus feature. The food was outstanding! We did choose to eat on site at the restaurant for dinner and it was incredible. The innkeeper Pam was gracious and kind and very helpful- a wonderful conversationalist too!

I booked a Valentine getaway, which exceeded my expectations 100%. Pam, the innkeeper, was, by far, the most welcoming of any I have met in my bed and breakfast travels. She is definitely a jack of all trades, and she seems to have mastered running the Montgomery Inn. Not only did I feel welcome, I felt at home. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast and service was outstanding. I feel that she strived to make sure every guest had exactly what they wanted and/or needed. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Montgomery Inn. You won't regret it!

My husband and I stayed on a Saturday as an extension to our Valentine celebration. The room was elegant complete with plush robes! It was amazing. The next morning we had the best strawberry lemon zest waffles ever. Pam O'Malley was an amazing host and a delight! We will make this BnB a traditional place for sure!

This was our second stay at Montgomery Inn. It's got all the character of a turn-of-the-century house with modern conveniences such as hot-tubs in the rooms. The rooms are nicely decorated and the amenities are great, especially the heavy terry cloth bath robes. The breakfast was excellent and the innkeeper cordial and accommodating. They now have a restaurant but we had made plans elsewhere. But a group we met who was staying at the inn said it was excellent. The inn is handy to Lexington, Frankfort, and of course, if you want to do the "bourbon trail" it's in the middle of it. We'll definitely keep Montgomery Inn on our list when returning to the area.

Our main issue with our stay was difficulty in finding the place! The extra rooms (that are not in the main house) are located behind a restarant and the tiny sign was not lighted. The only sign we saw was for the restaurant. Room was nice but pretty small. Breakfast on Saturday was only from 8:30-9:30 - when I'm on vacation, that's a little early!

The Inn was very nice and cozy. We stayed for 2 nights and was a nice peaceful place to stay. By the description of the Inn and the pictures of the rooms, I thought the place was going to be much bigger. The owner and her employees were very nice and polite. I would recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay at the Montgomery. The room was spotless and the pumpkin waffles were a wonderful surprise. The star of the show was the HUGE jetted tub. A very appreciated amenity after 10 hours of driving.

Great atmosphere! Loved the owners, quirky fun and friendly. Great cooking. We stayed 3 nights in the Foxhunt room. Very nice and comfortable. Loved that its a old home turned into a b&b, very warm and inviting. Felt like we were staying with friends.

Pam, Justin and Ross were extremely accommodating, down-to-earth, and friendly. We effectively escaped our hectic lives for 2 relaxing bourbon-filled nights in Kentucky. Breakfast was delectable and exceeded expectations all on its own. Our room was very clean and spacious. We stayed in the English Suite. The tub was big enough for both of us and we never ran out of hot water. We spent our days wondering around the bourbon trail and our evenings in the BYOB Dining room chatting it up with our hosts and/or other guests. The dinner menu is ambitious and delicious. Everything was great! We will be back.

We stayed two nights in the Tuscan Room, which is in a modern add-on. Consequently did not get to see much of the main house. Tuscan was attractively decorated and comfortable, if a tad cozy. Park backing in if possible to make it easier to get out in the morning. New evening dining restaurant has possibilities but service needs some work. We had a new server who tried hard but has much to learn

This was my fifth stay at the inn and it was the best trip yet. With it being a Kentucky home football game weekend and they played Alabama, where we are from, it was a fun weekend. The breakfast was amazing and the service was excellent. Can't wait until our next visit.

We stayed there for 3 nights and we had a wonderful time. The people that run the place are very nice and easy to talk to. The room was spacious and comfortable as well. Everything was clean and although an old house, we were very happy in our room. Everything including television, a remodeled bathroom, a large comfortable bed, was superb. The owner was very helpful in giving us ideas of what to do in the area which was surprisingly a lot considering how small the town is. Also, the breakfast we were served was phenomenal. Every morning we awoke to the smell of coffee and the food was never less than delicious. Even offering gluten free options and she was very accommodating to any allergies or other dietary restrictions. We highly recommend this BnB to anyone who wants to go to Lexington, KY seeing as it really isn't a far drive from Versailles.

We stayed in the Maple room. We really liked the jacuzzi/bath. Some of the other rooms, even the more costly ones, seemed to be right off of public spaces. You can hear your neighbors walking around some (creaking boards, etc). We signed up for the dinner, and it was delicious and a great value. The breakfast was good, a little below expectations since the "ham waffles" was simply ham-stuffed waffles topped with more ham. Some fruit or yogurt or something with a lighter touch would have given some balance to it. Lastly, the server was quite awkward. In conclusion, a good stay, which we enjoyed, but might put off a more choosy customer.
5 on July 25, 2013
My sister and I came to Versailles to visit the area. We stayed at the Montgomery Inn for two nights. The breakfast was delicious, and was visually pleasing also. We enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the Montgomery. It is a family-run business, and it was nice to visit with each of the family members. I enjoyed the reading and relaxing on the porch swing on the large front porch. I would visit again.
4.4 on July 25, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay - from our fabulous, large room and big bathroom, to the yummy breakfasts and Pam's friendly conversation and knowledge about the area. We especially appreciated her sensitivity to my husband's gluten-free needs and her knowledge of all the restaurants in the area that have gluten-free foods. She had great recommendations of things to do in the area!

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this B&B. location is greet...quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the shops downtown and short drive to Wildside Winery. The room we stayed in was the Oriental, nicely decorated and at the end of the addition so very private. We did dinner there the first night and it was very nicely done. Both breakfasts were delicious and perfect portion size. The owner and her kids and husband that run this B&B are very nice people and very attentive to the needs of their guests.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Montgomery Inn. The staff was very attentive and the location of the B&B was in a quiet old neighborhood. We stayed in the Oriental Room, which has a quaint private porch. The Inn was lovely, but is in need of a "face lift" - the gardens need weeding, torn lampshades need replacing, outdoor cushions need cleaning, etc.

My husband and I were so lucky we picked up a last-minute cancellation. It was clearly advertised on their website and the online request was quick and easy. They got back to me right away to let us know we had the room. This was huge since, it was a last-minute necessity for us too. The rain and late Derby night put us behind schedule for our arrival time. I called ahead and they very kindly had our key ready and took care of us. The French room as luxurious, comfy and clean. It was a perfect place to spend a night have all day in the rain. Breakfast was waffles with banana, nuts and caramel sauce --- AMAZING! I can't praise the staff enough. I was sad it was only a one night stay. I'd loved to go back again.

Excellent accommodations at this outstanding bed & breakfast. You will be so pleased if you choose the Montgomery Inn for your stay. It is so close to horse country, just a few miles from Keeneland. We were able to see the horses being trained at 6:30am and watch the sun come up. So beautiful. Pam, Justin, Michalya, and Ross were so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us in so many ways.

We spent three nights at the Montgomery Inn, during a very busy time in the Lexington-Versailles area. Unlike most everyone else there, we were not there for anything horse-related, but we loved the atmosphere of excitement that was present. We stayed in the English Suite, which had an outside entrance. The room was lovely, and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the three breakfasts in the dining room, each one different. We found Pam and her family to be very helpful and friendly - good traits for innkeepers! We would stay here again if back in the area.

We wanted to take our time visiting our favorite bourbon distilleries, and this was a nice little spot to make our "half-way" point. The Montgomery Inn was very clean and comfortable, and close to a quaint downtown area for dinner. Pam cooked up a great breakfast for us and the coffee was great! We would stay again if in the area, and would recommend this inn to others!
4.2 on April 18, 2013
Owners were very friendly. Great food in the morning and they won't let you leave hungry! I loved the front porch swing. Quick showers do to limited hot water. Location was on the outside of the historical area and you don't want to walk too far the other direction at night. There is not a lot to do in this area on sundays since most places are closed or only open a few hours. Overall I enjoyed our stay and would pick Montgomery Inn again to visit the bourbon trail.
Thanks for reviewing our Inn! We are glad you came. I wanted to mention two notes that may help future guests. Some of our rooms (Tara, Foxhunt, Maple) have a tankless hot water system which requires purging the line or you will experience pockets of varying degree water, we explain, post on the wall and again on the invoice, but it sometimes gets missed. This applies only to these rooms, once hot, it will flow without interruption. Sunday is still Sabbath in the south and many businesses observe this. We can help you plan your itinerary so that you have things "left" to so/do on Sundays--the KY Horse Park, Shaker Village and 2-3 of the 6 Bourbon Distilleries are open, and I believe many vineyards are also. Our sidewalk actually stops in one direction at our property and the lighting is limited as the road ventures into the farms, we are about 5 blocks from downtown the other way and there is plenty of walking to be done. Our downtown does close early but we are 15 minutes from shopping and restaurants in Lexington and Frankfort. Again, share with us your desires and we will guide you toward your goals. Thanks!
- Pam O'Malley (innkeeper)

Staying at The Montgomery Inn is akin to pulling your favorite chair in the vicinity of an old "Home Comfort" wood-burning stove. The warmth is comforting, special, and genuine. We are always appreciative of the Innkeeper's attention to detail, interest in our well-being, and sincere hospitality. We highly recommend The Montgomery Inn for wayfarer's looking for a place to exhale and and enjoy Southern Hospitality as it is meant to be.

Room was great. Nice and big. Wife loved the Jacuzzi bathtub. Only issue we had was it is an old house, so noise in the hallway travelled and woke us up. And the bed was really squeaky. Every time I rolled over I woke my wife up. Breakfast was superb and service was prompt but unobtrusive.

I just visited here last weekend with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We loved this place! We stayed in the Tuscan, which was very comfortable and a great value for the price. It was really nice to have a private entrance to our room, and we especially loved the two-person jacuzzi. Breakfast was fantastic. I don't think I've stopped talking about how great the french toast was since we left. Pam is so friendly and made us feel at home, and her kids are really professional and did a great job helping her. My boyfriend and I are already looking for an excuse to come back and stay here again. Thanks for making the weekend memorable!

Probably you best value of any lodging your gonna find in the Versailles/Frankfort/Lexington area. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Double jacuzzi hot tub, large bathroom with seperate shower and two sinks, a sitting space with flatscreen tv and a very confortable large bed in our room (English Room) made our stay perfect and invigorated us for another day on the Bourbon trail. Private parking right outside our room and a waffle with bananas and sausage for breakfast. 20 minutes to Four Roses and 30 to Wild Turkey is a nice advantage also. Very hospitable and sincere, which makes for the perfect hosts. If I am ever in the area again it will be my first choice. Thanks again!

My wife and I had a very nice weekend at this B&B. The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The dining experience was especially enjoyable. I woke up early that morning, before breakfast was served, but I was still able to go into the dining area for coffee and a couple handfuls of snacks while I waited. And it was worth the wait. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Pam has a great personality, and we enjoyed talking and joking with her while we ate. We definitely would recommend the Montgomery Inn for anyone staying in this area.

We had a quiet, peaceful weekend nestled into the Tara Suite at the Montgomery Inn. Pam's breakfasts were a visual delight and her waffles were enough, all by themselves, to make me glad we came. We used this as a launching pad for our first visit to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail (the Woodford Reserve distillery is about 20 minutes away) and greatly enjoyed two meals at two wonderful eateries in nearby Midway. Only regret is that I never figured out how to have a "normal" shower. The suite had a tankless water heater; even after we followed the directions to let the water run until it was consistently hot before getting in, I couldn't get it regulated to a personally comfortable temperature.

We only stayed one night, but would have enjoyed a much longer stay. Our room, the Colonial, was lovely, with a romantic electric fireplace, and a huge bath with a large Jacuzzi tub. We chose to dine at the inn, and were glad we did. The food was delicious, and the innkeepers and their daughter were warm and personable. Breakfast was equally good, and the presentation was delightful. Our stay couldn't have been better, and we look forward to "sneaking away" to the Montgomery Inn, again, in the future.

My girlfriend and I had a last-minute free weekend open up, and wanted to spend a quiet weekend "away from it all" - so we looked at bed and breakfast deals near us in Kentucky. The ca 1911 Montgomery Inn BnB looked to be exactly what we wanted - secluded, private suites with jacuzzi tubs big enough for two, and on-site dining so we wouldn't have to travel around in search of food once we got there if we didn't want to. The reservation process online was completely painless, and Pam, the innkeeper, contacted me via email to confirm details almost immediately. Everything was ready when we got there, including a delicious soup and salad dinner that was perfect after getting in from the cold. We stayed in the Oriental suite, complete with king-size bed, tv/dvd, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and plenty of room to move around and put our stuff down. Breakfast was delicious and cooked perfectly to order. Dinners were even better, with Pam being such an incredible chef, we felt confident leaving the menu up to her. My only complaint is that the walls between the rooms are a little thin - we had a neighboring couple our last night there, and they were enjoying each others' company......loudly. Other than that, the value for what we got, the accommodations, and the dining experience alone would each be reason enough to return again, and having all of that together means we will surely return, and be recommending it to our friends as well!

This is a rambling Victorian B&B with a new wing attached. The best part is reserving a special dinner prepared upon request. We did that two out of 3 nights. The B&B also has huge bath tubs, room for two people. That I didn't expect. The service was 5 star, and the quality of the food is superb.

Decided to stay a night in the Lexington area, and found that the ca1911Montgomery Inn B&B had rooms available. Checked n and was greeted by Jason. He graciously showed us around, gave us some hints as to where to eat and what to see, and we also enjoyed some conversation with him. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The next morning we met Pam, who prepared a delicious breakfast for us (pumpkin pancakes with all the trimmings; yummy!) and was very attentive in filling our coffee cups and asking if we wanted anything else. We also had a pleasant conversation with her as well. We would like to have stayed longer, but we were on a tight schedule. A very charming place to stay!!

Our first floor room and bathroom were very nicely furnished, spacious and clean. Our hostess, Pam, did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. My wife and I enjoyed a two day stay at Montgomery B and B in early October, 2012. We stayed in the main house in "Colonial" which was spacious (huge bathroom w/jacuzzi) and clean. Pam's breakfast was OFF the hook! The close proximity to Keeneland Race Track and surrounding horse farms + the Woodford Reserve distillary made M BnB the perfect location for our needs. Pam's "insider" info was much appreciated as we were able to set up a personal tour with one of her "horse savvy" friends. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Thanks Pam!

Photos of Inn are a bit deceiving. General condition of the Inn was much less than elegant, and our room was not nearly as grand as it appeared in the picutre. Our mattress was so worn and lumpy and bed squeaked with every move. Neither of us slept. Overall cleanliness of the place was good, food better than average, and service was exceptional. Felt it was very overpriced for the experience and likely will not stay there again.

The inn was nice and the food was good; however, the innkeeper was lacking in personality - hardly smiled, all business. Also, the room we stayed in on the first floor in the older part was at the front of the house with a window right by the porch with a swing. There was a couple on the swing that stayed there past midnight! We could hear every word they said. It was very annoying!! We turned the radio and the T.V. on just to try to drown them out and did not say much, ourselves, because we did not want them to listen to us. We actually really wanted to get some sleep (it had been a long day and we had to get up early). We would not stay at this inn again.
Thanks for reviewing our Inn. I do wish you would have dialed the phone-it rings to my cell at all times so I could have asked the chatty couple to take it to another location. It sounds like you were really tired. You are correct-your usually fun-loving innkeeper was all about business-my 15 yr old daughter was missing for 3 days, and while we tried not to spoil our guests' stays with a personal issue, I can't imagine having managed to smile much when my heart was breaking. She is home unharmed, even good kids do stupid things sometimes and innkeepers are on stage 24/7 no matter what life throws us. There are suites with private entrances that have less contact with the other guests for those who need peace and quiet. The horse racing season is generally pretty lively around here.

Room was nice. The bathroom in our room was very large and well appointed. We were downstairs just beside the stairs. It was a little noisy with folks coming in and out. The blackout blinds worked great. I liked the larger screen TV. The Eggs Benedict were great as well.

Rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable as was the dining room but I was out at meal times. The rating system required a number to continue so I entered a middle rating but I honestly can't rate the dining. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

An interesting couple owns this B&B, our first breakfast was a great dish with lightly seasoned curried eggs, a delightful taste treat! We stayed several days and enjoyed their good service and friendly conversation. We were in the themed rooms in a wing off the back of the house. It was a comfortable room with a jaccuzi tub in the main room plus a shower/tub in the bathroom. Breakfast was in a large dining room and there was an additional lounge area with a big screen TV and lots of movies, books and games.

ABSOLUTELY loved ca 1911 Montgomery Inn BnB. Pam and her family were so kind, not to mention the food was excellent, and the jacuzzi was just what I needed. Will return, and hopefully soon.

We have stayed in B&Bs for the past 16 years and this was our second stay in a KY B&B as we traveled the Bourbon Trail. Our tastes and expectations may have been better suited for a stay in the main house instead of the newer “wing addition”. The interior of the inn is lushly decorated as depicted in photos on the website yet the exterior grounds did not meet our expectations. Both our dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay and the innkeepers. We stayed in the Tuscan room which was small but budget friendly. We like the concept of having the wing off the main house which had a private entrance. Would we consider revisiting this bed and breakfast.

This is our third year staying with Pam and the Montgomery Inn when we do the Bourbon Trail. My best friend and I have done the Bourbon Trail 3 years now, and we always look forward to seeing our friends there at Montgomery Inn BnB. Breakfasts are amazing, there is always coffee, tea, snacks available 24/7, and our room, the Tara Suite is situated right near the front porch for those cigars and sipping after the Trail. We highly recommend the Montgomery Inn when you're on the Bourbon Trail, in the area, or just want a nice weekend away from home - with a hometown feel - Pam and the family at Montgomery Inn are a great choice!!

Was the bed wonderful? Yes--slept like a baby. Oh, and I'm sure that having a hot tub IN EVERY ROOM makes this place even more relaxing. Or, maybe it's the hot tea bar. Or maybe the leather couches you can sink into like a bowl of jell-o. Or, maybe it's the Egyptian cotton bath robes. Or, maybe it's the whole package...yes, that's probably it. Regardless, relaxing night, wonderful sleep, sheets that smelled fresh and welcoming...and the BEST darn French toast I have ever eaten...ever. If it wasn't a four hour drive, I'd be tempted to go get another piece right now. Who am I kidding, I LOOK for reasons to go here, and you should, too!

Pam & her family/staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until our departure. Breakfast was very good although the portions served were huge. We could only eat about one-half of what we were served. We would consider staying at Montgomery Inn again if in the area. T & K Picciuto, Woodstock, VA

Spent 3 days with Pam and family at their B&B while doing the bourbon trail for our anniversary. The room we stayed in was wonderful, the breakfasts were hot and delicious, and there was never a shortage of coffee! Pam and family were great hosts...we spent several hours just sitting and talking with them about anything and everything. It was truly a relaxing experience. Highly recommend paying them a visit!

The family made sure all our needs were met. Ross is a culinary student and practices his art very well, under the mentorship of Pam, his mother, who is quite a chef in her own right. The moussaka was delicious, and the breakfast was very satisfying. We spent our anniversary here and the romance package met my expectations. The French room felt very private, romantic and relaxing.

Everything about the Montgomery Inn was charming. The room was clean and the bed was the best I have slept on. It was hard to get up in the morning to go sight-seeing! Breakfast was exceptionally delicious with fabulous options for vegetarians and those needing a gluten-free menu. Loved it and would visit again!

We recently spent our anniversary at the Montgomery Inn. The room was very cozy and much larger than expected. The room felt quiet and secluded which was a delightful surprise since we were on the main floor and near the staircase. The innkeeper was helpful without being intrusive, and the breakfasts were quite tasty and very filling. The inn framed a beautiful anniversary weekend, and we would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I found this place on the internet and thought it would be a great place to relax for the weekend. We had a great stay and enjoyed our breakfast. We stayed in the "Tara" room. We enjoyed the room and it was up to standard. The only negative aspect of our stay was the rooms were a little cold for us, our in room fridge did not keep our wine cool, and we needed a bigger TV. Our eyesight is not the same as when we were younger so it was hard to see. We normally would not have used the TV, but we wanted to watch what was left of the olympics. The Inn was very relaxing whether we were swinging away on the porch or shuffling through the house. Pam was great and we would return again if the opportunity arrises.
We are so glad you had a good stay. For folks who like a larger tv, 6 of the 10 suites have been upgraded to 32" flatscreens. The Main House is on central heat and air, most of the individual suites also have a heat producing fireplace for extra warmth and ambiance in the winter. The Four Wing Suites have individual thermostats for those who prefer less A/C than we need for the common areas and the kitchen. Good point-I'll try to include this info next time I update the room descriptions. The French is getting a facelift by the way, so the photo isn't depicting the new but still french decoration. Thank you for your helpful input!

This B&B was very nice. It is only the second one I've stayed in, but I enjoyed it very much. Our room was off of the main entrance, so we had our own entry/exit, which was nice. No one was waiting for us to get home at night, which we liked. There are snacks, DVDs to borrow, bathrobes in your room, delicious breakfast. The owners were hospitable and kind.

We stayed in the English room of the Montgomery Inn B&B during the end of July. As soon as I walked in, I commented on the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. I spent many hours reading and soaking in the large jetted tub and even more time in the king-sized bed snuggling in among soft sheets and a luxurious comforter. The innkeepers are gracious and welcoming without making you feel that you HAVE to come out of your room to mingle. I felt that we were able to set our own pace. This was our second stay, but it won't be the last!

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights in the Tara suite while touring the area on our motorcycles. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The soaking tub is great and the electric fireplace in the room is a bonus, especially since it has a no heat setting that allows you to use it during the summer months. The Inn offers free wifi and access to a decent DVD library, the only downside is the tv in the room is very small. The innkeeper was very helpful and the food was very good. We had no problems with noise from other rooms but the Inn was rather empty because we stayed on a Weds and Thurs night. I could see noise being an issue in the downstairs rooms when the Inn is full because the rooms are right off of the common areas. I was able to use my B&B.com giftcards without a problem.

Overall our experience was pretty good. We, however, had great hopes and high expectations for this B&B and it fell a bit short in a few areas. Breakfast was wonderful and the innkeepers were very nice. Our room was nicely decorated and the common areas were even better. Unfortunately, our room was a bit run down and needed some freshening up (no hangers in the closet and a filthy ironing board cover). Little things to fix, but they have a big impact when the price for the room is this high.

The Colony room was perfectly laid out with a comfortable queen size bed, separate bathroom with 2 person jacuzzi and nice shower pressure. My wife and I got in late and still were able to relax very quickly. The location is in a nice historic town close to everything. There were some excellent restaurants in the area. The service was good, food very good and air conditioning cool for an old home. After a stressful work season this was a perfect retreat. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the Tuscan one night on our way through Kentucky. It was a great place to stay, very clean and quiet. Ross, Pam's son, made excellent recommendations on a great place to have dinner in nearby Midway. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the setup of the dining area allows guests to be social or keep to themselves. It was a staging point for the Bourbon trail, with Woodford Reserve being only a 20 minute drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Versailles is a friendly place like most of Kentucky but downtown is not as special as other towns in the area. The scenic drives directly to Midway and along Old Frankfurt Pike to Lexington takes you through spectacular bluegrass horse farms. Midway has a few good restaurants and a couple of good bars with entertainment. Lexington has excellent restaurants, Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Farm. Further out is Pleasant Hill, an exceptional example of a Shaker village.

I really like the Montgomery Inn. We stayed in the English room, it is very pretty. There room is huge- with a sitting area, a wet bar, frig and microwave. Even a fireplace and big screen TV. We have three in our group so they brought in a twin bed, there was plenty of room! The shower has two shower heads- great after a long day walking the cross country course at Rolex! The breakfast looked great- I'm vegan and they made me a beatiful fruit plate while my friends had huge waffles smothered in cream, bananas, and pecans! Very nice staff. All in all, a great experience! We'll be back!

Great B&B. Loved our room. Breakfast was too sweet. Town not too interesting! Not a very interesting walking area
4.4 on April 27, 2012
The Montgomery Inn is located on a quiet street in the charming town of Versailles Kentucky (pronounce it like the locals: verr-sales, not like the French city!). The Keeneland horse track is close by, as are the Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey bourbon distilleries. The hostess is very personable and guests are friendly, as are the locals. You can read the immense collection of books or borrow from the huge selection of DVD's, but we fund so much to do in the area that we didn't spend much time in the room. There are some terrific local restaurants (Melissa's Cafe was a highlight) and lots of local charm, especially the historic town of Midway.
4.6 on April 26, 2012
Montgomery Inn has a great location for people taking the Bourbon Trail. We completed half of the trail on a Friday, stayed at Montgomery Inn and completed the second half of the trail on Saturday. It was easy to find, comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
5 on April 19, 2012
This BnB has managed to preserve all the character of the old house it's in while offering a host of modern amenities. I took advantage of the jacuzzi tub both nights we stayed there, we spent time on the front porch swing enjoying the blooming trees, and our breakfasts were wonderful to wake up to! The owners accommodated our vegetarian food requests, and even upgraded our room for free to the just because they had it available. I think my favorite part was our last breakfast of buckwheat waffles with bananas, caramel, and walnuts. SO GOOD!
3.2 on April 18, 2012
Thought the Inn met my expectations, it seems a little run down in places but for some that may add to its charm. When the guests in the other room were running the jacuzzi it made a noise, not unbearable but distracting. The meal we had was really good, the service was friendly but not anything special, one thing I did not like is that their cats seemed to have free run of the place, I am allergic to cats and it was a problem for me. Personally I would rate our weekend average, not anything special but not bad, just average.
Just a helpful note to clarify: Four of our rooms have exterior (private) entrances. We have outdoor only cats on site. We strive to let each guest know they are here and very friendly so that we can address concerns and also help keep them cat-free if needed. If you have similar needs, please choose a main house suite. A cat, you would rarely see more than one or two but we have four we share with our next door neighbor, may sleep on your veranda. They seem to think we humans are in need of close supervision. Have 20+ years in the respiratory therapy field prior to innkeeping so I understand all too well the problems asthma/allergy and cats can share. We have safe quarters with Oreck air filter available for good measure. It is indeed a now 101 year old house and there is always something in need of doing--we call it a labor of love. Thank you for taking the time to review us!

We had a coupon from Living Social for a 2 night stay with two Boubon distillery tours, a discount on dinner at the Bnb and a half dozen chocolate strawberries on arrival.. We booked early and were able to reserve the French Room. Excellent room with heart shaped jacuzzi and separate entrance with a lovely porch. The decor was perfect and the room very generously sized. Bed was comfortable and though we were the far from the main house we had no trouble with the Wifi. Breakfast were great in taste an very creative. My fiancee and I spent two nights at the Montgomery. It is in a great location, with lots of things to see. We stuck with the Bourbon trail this time, but next time we would like to explore some of the historical aspects of the area. The breakfast at the BnB was amazing! The service was outstanding. We had an amazing weekend. The room was gorgeous (we had the French)! I only had a few complaints, and trust me, they were minor! One of the jets in the jacuzzi didn't work, and the double headed shower was not big enough for two people. These were no big deal at all! Some of the perks: you can sit in the jacuzzi and turn the tv so you can enjoy a nice movie in the tub with wine and/or bourbon. The king size bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. There is a huge closet with the ironing board and iron. The private entrance was nice, we had our own porch and could feel the seclusion we were looking for! The staff is soooo helpful and gave us directions and ideas of places to eat/drink/enjoy! Thank you so much to the Montgomery for a fantastic weekend!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and definitely enjoyed it. The only major flaw with this inn is the location--you have to drive to do almost anything as the town is very small and has very few places to eat. Breakfast at the inn was one of the best I've had at a B&B--hearty but not just full of sugar and fat like many. You can have dinner there as well, which is convenient given how quiet the town is, but the food was not especially exciting at our dinner. One of the best parts: a jacuzzi in every room! Definitely recommend.

My first time at this Bed and breakfast and I would definitely return again soon. We stayed in the French and there was such detail to all the furniture and amenities that we both commented about it. It is clear that the innkeeper takes great pride in her home/business. Everything we needed was provided with a smile, iced tea at all hours of the day and night, seconds at breakfast and scrumptious treats. Pam even made a special breakfast for 2 couples with no notice. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. It is an amazing value for this area.

This B&B is a very relaxing place to stay and enjoy the beautful hills of Kentucky. The family that runs it is very hospitable and very friendly. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Montgomery Inn.

My wife and I were looking for a quick get-away and found 1911 Montgomery Inn. The room had a jetted hot tub for relaxing and the room, though not large, was comfortable. Original wood floors were throughout the house and gave it character. The breakfast and other amenities available were great. It's one of the best values in a B & B you'll find anywhere.

We really appreciated the ability to book a single night get away. Everything was done well.

We really enjoyed our first stay at the Montgomery Inn BnB. The one place that I could see some improvement is with the beds. Very squeaky and I expected a better quality bed for the price we paid.

This inn is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable, large, clean and charmingly decorated. The dinner was sumptuous and plentiful and the gourmet breakfast was a fantastic and delicious surprise. Pam and her staff were very friendly and took care of our every need. Can't wait to return.

Very nice, clean and the food was good. Could use new TVs. Stayed in the Tarra, I would suggest removing the bed out of the first room and adding a hidabed couch. We would for sure go back. Great place to stay for the Bourbon Trail.

The house was quaint. It was old but very updated so you would not necessarily realize it was built in 1911. Unfortunately one of the updates is a green plumbing system. In order to have hot water for your shower- you must run the tub faucet full bore until steaming. The water from the faucet is dangerously hot at that point and the tub fills a bit with this dangerously hot water so you can't really run the bath water on hot full bore and have to mix some cool water in there - it's quite a regulatory art - because that determines how hot ur shower water will be and you ate suppose TP turn the shower on immediately after turning the faucet off so I found myself doing a little dance and a lot of knob adjusting just to shower- in short it was miserable. I would have taken a jacuzzi bath instead because there is a lovely jacuzzi tub but the jets had a layer of reddish gundge on the lips. At first I thought it was just a hard water stain till my travel companion pointed out that the region is famous for it's softwater used to make the bourbon so I touched the orange area and discovered it was slimy gunge. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the TV was tiny, the individual furnace in our room worked well, Pam the innkeeper was kind, our first breakfast was a bit odd but the 2nd was quite good.

We had a small groupnof couples for a 2 night 3 day stay. The owners are wonderful people, breakfast was awesome. If you plan ahead, the owners will make dinner for you and it was very good! An additional bonus was the Catholic church was within walking distance! Will definitely return.

We have stayed at The Montgomery Inn on multiple occasons over the years that Pam Matthews O'Malley has owned the property. On each occasion, we feel a sense of contentment and comfort that translates into that perfect vocalization: "Ahhhh". Pam and her staff are skilled in their abilities to anticipate needs and meet them in an unobtrusive, unflappable, fashion. This year we introduced a new couple to the Inn as we enjoyed our annual football weekend. They loved it, too. We'll be back (as always). J&P (Owensboro, KY)

The room was very nice. There were a few things I would improve, though. The towels needed to be laundered in a different way as to improve fluffiness and the door lock on my suit needed to be fixed. I also ordered the Baby-moon package which didn't meet my expectations. All in all, my wife and I had a wonderful stay and would return to the inn in the future. Pam the owner was wonderful.

This was the icing on the cake to an already wonderful 3 day weekend experience. Pam and her family are wonderful and they do everything they can to make you feel welcomed. Our room and the bathroom were spaceous (the English room). The food was wonderful. I would recommend the dinner option to everyone. If you are headed down that way, Just Book It!

Pam and her family were great! Not only did they provide delicious rich food, they also provided step by step directions to places (restaurants, bourbon tours, historic places, etc...). The room was comfortable and had great amenities. Service was top notch - very attentive yet not over the top smothering. Cookies in the evening, videos, board games and books to borrow - it was almost like a stay at a friends house, especially at dinner. Excellent home cooked meals. You could truly tell that they wanted you to walk away with a great experience. we'd go back!

We arrived in town about mid-day and stopped at the B&B to pick up brochures and see if they had any recommendations for the area. We let owner know that we were not there to check in just get above mentioned info. Apparently she was NOT happy to see us at that time and was extremely rude. Room had a terrible odor when we did ck in. They sprayed a room deod and it helped but odor was back in the morning when we returned from breakfast. We will return to area-it was deliteful but will find a different place to stay!
First-we hate that you had a bad experience-we spend our lives trying to provide a great stay for each and every guest. I do apologize. The thing about being an innkeeper is that you and your family are on display 24/7. There is never an excuse for rudeness. That being said, as a small Inn we have just 4 hours to accomplish monumental feats of cleaning and repairing the whole Inn, shopping for the next wave of guests, handling staff and any personal life issues we made need to tend to. I do remember that day and you caught me in the midst of many things that weren't going smoothly-my apologies. That is why we have a check in time- so that we can regroup and be prepared for you to get a good experience. You are correct--we never were able to find the cause of tht very odd odor, we cleaned every speck of that room twice, but think something was under the house and yet it was gone the next day. One for the Unsolved Mysteries I guess. Usually we roll with the folks coming and going very well, you however got a double whammy and that is most regretable. So from the bottom of our hearts and they are huge--we apologize and wish you a better stay next time.

Our stay was plesant and the staff was great. The Dinner was wonderful!!! The reason I rated it lower was because of breakfast. It is a bed and breakfast, and breakfast is only served during one hour and it is pretty early. It would be nice if they would extend there hours or have other breakfast foods available to those who enjoy sleeping in on their vacations. There was cereal but no milk was available.
I am so glad you had a good time. Just to clarify for future guests: coffee is on at 7am, Breakfast is served 8:30-9:30 which means a 9:30 seating would eat until they were satisfied, and we do our best to accomodate necessary early breakfasts for people with appointments. We have to clean up breakfast so we can start on the rooms by 11 to get ready for the new check-ins. The milk is in the big refrigerator right next to the cereal bar in the dining room along with the juice--the cereal bar is for people who don't make it to breakfast or want a late night snack, etc. Most Inns don't provide this btw but we think it is a nice touch. Thanks for your comments!

The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding! Dinner was excellent and well worth the $25 reservation. It was great not having to get out and find a restaurant after a long travel day. I don't think we could have found a better chef anyway. Pam is great in the kitchen. She suggested that we go to Keenland Race track before sunrise to catch the view. We did and what a treat! I was sale week and , unlike other tracks, you could get up close and personal with the animals and trainers. It was worth the trip just for this experience. A good, clean, comfortable and well located place to stay!

We stayed at the 1911 Montgomery Inn BnB for our honeymoon, and the Tuscan room was just adorable! The jacuzzi was incredibly nice to have in-room, and I just can't stress enough how nice the owner and her family are. The area itself is nice because you can do bourbon or winery tours. It's a lovely place, and we're definitely planning on returning!

What a great time. My best friend and I do the Bourbon Trail every year, and this was the second time we stayed at Montgomery Inn B&B - and I will tell everyone I know that it's a great place, and great value. Pam and her team are great. We had the Tara room again - nice two large beds, two rooms, gives us individual privacy and yet we have our own suite for talking. BT2 is behind us, and we'll be back next year to Montgomery Inn for BT3. Great place to stay....

We purchased this visit at the 1911 Montgomery Inn in Versailles, KY through LivingSocial. We had a great visit and toured many of the KY Bourbon Trail Distilleries as well as the cooperage and a candy factory. The Inn was very nice. We stayed in the Foxhunt room. Pam, the owner, helped us remedy our lack of hot water after the first night. The breakfasts for the two mornings we stayed at the Inn were delicious! The only negative we had was the mattress in the Foxhunt room was terrible and needs replacing.
We are glad you had a great trip! Our new hot water system is tankless and heats on demand so it is necessary to run out the cold in the line prior to jumping in, we now have an instructional sign in the affected rooms--one of our many attempts to "go green" with a bit of a learning curve in the process. The King size bed in the Foxhunt is a regular style firm mattress and we have enjoyed comments like "I haven't slept that well in years" coming from that suite, so I am checking it out, of course, but I fear that may be a personal comfort issue. We appreciate your comments and encourage guests to approach us while they are here so that if possible, we can make their stay better immediately. After all, a hot bath/shower and a comfy bed are the mainstays of our business. Thanks and come back soon!

We'll definitely be back to Montgomery Inn the next time we visit near Lexington. B&B's are quirky by nature, but we liked all the "quirks" at Montgomery Inn! We stayed in the French Room, and the only drawback was that we were too far to pick up on the wireless Internet. Oh well, we didn't book a B&B because we wanted to play on our computers anyway! The breakfasts at the Inn were excellent both mornings, and the dining room is as lovely as the rooms. There was a great little restaurant just about a mile away called Melissa's Cottage Cafe. They serve Southern comfort food in large quantities at modest prices. If you enjoy quality dry to semi-dry wines, be sure to visit Equus Run Winery in nearby Midway, about 7 miles away.

Location is great for distillery tours and Horse Park visit. Pam and her staff were very pleasant and very interested in making us feel at home and meeting any and every need. Large library of DVDs to watch in your room, which we enjoyed. Room T.V. too small, though, and needs to be updated to larger flat screen. Food was great, and eating area was spacious and well-maintained. Looking forward to coming back again!
Thanks for another great review and you are so right! We have actually changed out the TVs in 6 of our 10 suites so far, hoping to get the remaining ones updated early in 2012. We are also adding smart-phone homes as we go so you'll be able to play your music, charge your phone, use your own alarm, etc. It was a pleasure having you!

My wife and I spent two nights at 1911 Montgomery Inn in late summer, and had a very pleasant time. Pam and her family did a real nice job of making things cozy and comfortable. Ross did a great job of providing a very nicely prepared dinner, and we were even able to bring our own wine to pare with. Pam had some great contacs with local tours off the beaten path along with two yummy breakfast to start our days with. Definitely plan on doing some of the Bourbon tours, especially Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve.

My boyfriend and I were directed to Montgomery Inn BnB through the Living Social deal that was up, and it was the perfect choice! Pam and her family are really nice and quite accommodating and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They maintain a casual, yet classy atmosphere that allows guests feel right at home, while still enjoying a lovely vacation atmosphere. The room was absolutely adorable and well-kept. We stayed in the Oriental room - the furnishings were lovely, the room was spacious, and we had our own private porch with furniture that looked out over a field. The sheets and towels were also very high quality. And the food was great! I'm always a little nervous about chef's choice meals, but everything that was served was delicious. We really liked that the dining was BYOB - we saved some money on wine and beer by bringing our own. Thanks to the Living Social deal, the price was dirt cheap and we got way more than we had paid for. Their normal prices are completely reasonable for what you get, though! The pictures on the website do not do this place justice - we were very pleased when we arrived and saw everything! They also have a good selection of movies and board games. They might not have your favorite, but they have such a wide variety that you'll definitely find something you like, and even a few things you may not have seen! Oh, and Pam's baking is FANTASTIC. We ate way too many brownies! We would definitely go back if given the opportunity!

Stayed two (2) nights, through Living Social Plan, and enjoyed the visit. The innkeeper was super nice. Suggestions for improvement: Have a choice of bed types & not limit to only a standard double size; breakfast (served 8:30 - 9:30) was, apparently, prepared for all guests at one time and warmed as guests arrived - could have been better.
The Living Social was a special internet deal where guests purchased one night and recieved a second one free with complimentary bourbon Distillery Tours and Chocolate covered Strawberries. I just wanted to note that our only Bed selections are King or Queen with the exception of an additional twin added to select suites when needed, another guest thought we had "foam" pillows, not the case either, and there are additional pillows in the closets to shoose from. Quiche, Strata and Fritata requires an hour to bake so it is always prepared ahead, our waffles and other dishes however are prepared on the spot. We are so glad you got to enjoy our Inn!

Our first experience with a B&B was not good, as the owner was rude, and everything promised was not delivered. My significant other was apprehensive about trying another one, but agreed to go. The owners at the Montgomery Inn were so nice, and so pleasant, that we both have decided we will go back. The bourbon trail is right there, along with some wineries. We only made it to 3 of them, so want to go back for the rest, and will stay again at the Montgomery Inn. There are also bicycle and running/walking trails closeby.

My Ng and I had the opportunity to stay in the Victorian suite and it was absolutely beautiful! It was clean and very spacious. I loved it! The inn keeper and her son and daughter were very polite and helpful, as well. I'm really glad we found this deal on livingsocial and was able to stay at this inn. Our only concern was the breakfast...we expected a little more from it. Perhaps meat and some eggs to go along with our meal, would have been nice. Overall, wonderful rooms and great hospitality. If this deal change around again, I would take it.

When you walk through the door you find yourself in another place and time. The furnishing and decor were tastefully done with just enough of the Victorian era flavor without being overdone. Our room was nicely furnished and the bathroom was wonderful, very large. However, although the Inn was only half full with guests it was difficult to find any private space as the family members were in the public areas both inside and out throughout our stay so we felt somewhat confined to our guest room. Although the family members were very polite, we just wanted to be able to sit somewhere besides our room and be alone, that was not possible. The breakfast was dissapointingly simple but we did have enough to eat.

The dinner (optional) was wonderful: ample, delicious, and served with warmth and attentiveness. The innkeeper responded quickly and ably to a temporary glitch in the air conditioning, and had the system up and running properly again in only a short time. My husband and I spent a truly lovely weekend at Montgomery Inn Bed and Breakfast celebrating our anniversary. Pam and her staff were very attentive to our needs. We stayed in the French Suite, which was even more beautiful than the website photos. Everything was top-notch and elegant... terrific antique furnishings, great hot tub for two, and chocolate-covered strawberries (some were wearing tuxedos!). Area attractions kept us busy at all times... bourbon trail, wineries, and Keeneland Race Track all nearby. We've already discussed a return visit and are suggesting this super enjoyable accommodation to all our friends!!!

Pam and her staff were so easygoing and fun! The rooms were clean and the breakfast was fabulous! We had terrible weather during our visit and spent our "gathering time" before dinner hunkered down in her basement, waiting for the all clear on tornados passing in the area. The staff and Pam took it all in stride! The front porch is lovely to sit and relax with a good cup of coffee. It is in the perfect location for a quick walk to some great shops and local eateries! We will stay here again!

From the minute you walk into the Montgomery Inn, you feel enveloped by coziness and class. Rich wood floors, beautiful antiques and rich rugs combine with all the best in modern luxuries. I mean, really--Jacuzzi tubs and Turkish cotton bath robes--what else do we need to say?!!? The breakfast is yummy enough that I woke up this morning and considered driving the 250 miles back there just to have innkeeper Pam's delicious cooking. This family allows you to either join them in evening conversation or sneak away by yourself with a glass of wine. They have movies, books, and magazine to fulfill just about anyone's relaxation needs, but the best thing of all has to be curling up in your room, breathing in the yummy, fresh-smelling linens, and saying "Ahhhhh...this is great!" If you have no reason to go to Versailles, Kentucky, now you have a reason. I went there first because my company booked a room at the Montgomery for me during a business trip. Now, it is my place of choice when in the Lexington area. Don't ask yourself anymore questions...just book a room with Pam and her family at the Montgomery Inn!

We were happy to find a BnB in the Versailles area during one of the busiest seasons for horse racing at Keeneland. The house is beautifully decorated, and we found our room to be very comfortable and nicely furnished with everything we might need. The breakfasts were creative and delicious. The BnB is run by the owner with her children--all very friendly and helpful. We'd love to return for another stay sometime soon!

This was the perfect location and perfect inn to sandwich our Bourbon Trail tour around. Couldn't ask for nicer innkeepers or nicer accomodations.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Owners have made the inn a very welcoming and comfortable B&B. Breakfasts were so delicious. Enjoyed spending time on the front porch with travel companions and other guests. Good location, easy to get around Lexington and the surrounding area. Only negative: Colonial Room needs a new toilet seat!

Stayed in the English room and it was great as far as the room was concerned. TV could have been a lot better (small). The service was good and the breakfast was fine. A bit on the pricey side, though.

What a weekend, Inn Keeper Pam was so very generous as well as the whole family. The Tara suite was very accomodating and right off the front porch which we spent much time rocking. Thanks so much, see ya in the fall.

This was our second stay with Pam and her lovely family. My husband and I stayed three nights and enjoyed three delicious breakfasts. We feel so at home at The Montgomery Inn and are planning a third visit in October for the races. We can't say enough nice things about Montgomery Inn and of course, Pam.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Montgomery Inn B & B. The staff is courteous and considerate, and the owner takes a great deal of care of her facility and her guests. The Inn has something of a delightfully eclectic decor, with each room offering a different look and feel (we had occasion to walk through all the rooms as we arrived a bit early). We stayed in the Admiral Room and the attention to detail showed. The hot breakfast is well thought out and varied, served along side a great selection of tea and coffee. We lost at the race track, but had a very comfortable visit at the Montgomery...it will be our first call for our next visit to Keeneland.

We stayed with at the Montgomery Inn and loved it!! There was 4 of us - 2 rooms. Both rooms were amazing and the food was incredible! We haved added this to our "must return" list. My husband said not to write a review too good because the cost would go up but can't help it. It was an amazing INN!!

Overall experience was good. Parking area and side area of inn was not impressive, and seemed a bit unkempt. Exterior of rooms with private entrances was not very attractive vinyl siding, and looked a bit too much like the exterior of a motel. Loved the common areas and the refreshment assortments available. Room was clean and tastefully enough decorated, but very small. Breakfast was lovely. Price was too high for the room and atmosphere. I have stayed at B&B's in nearby areas for about 65% of the price of our room.

this was our first time to stay in a bed and breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived late and still there was food and wine set out for us to enjoy. We stayed in the Tara rooms. Not the best arrangement for two couples as there is only one bathroom. However, would be great if taking children. The rooms are large and there are plenty of towels, lotions, etc. The bathrooms have been updated nicely. The only drawback was the TV is very small. but we didn't go to watch TV. The front porch was very nice for sitting on. We took wine and cheese and sat on the front porch swing and chatted with each other. There were four of us that stayed here. All in all , I would definitely go again. Breakfast was great. The owner is an awesome cook and does a great job of offering variety. You definitely feel catered to. What you get for the dollar is amazing. Another great thing is that you are only about 10 minutes to the front gates of Keeneland. This place makes a great place to stay for a Keeneland trip.
So glad you had a good time! Yes--the two bedroom suites weren't really intended for two couples--probably better to get your own rooms next time. But they are great when traveling with a friend or family member and needing a separate bed in the same suite. The wine & cheese and soup & salad suppers were a special package for the World Equestrian Games, but they proved very popular so we may continue them into the horse racing season. Thanks for you input--See you next time!

We stayed in the Tara suite this time and enjoyed it immensely. We had our children join us this time at the Inn and this suite was perfect. On Sunday, we enjoyed the roasted red pepper and cheese omelettes and they were AWESOME! The food was wonderful and the hospitality was as always, amazing! We will plan to come again in the future. Pam and Ross do a very nice job.

We just returned from our 11th stay at Mongomery Inn. We have stayed in all the suites except the English and Oriental and find all to be far above what one would expect. The attention paid to details, the food, and Yes, above all else the innkeeper, Pam and her family are outstanding !! We cant wait to stay in those last two suites and start all over again. We love you all, Pam !!!

A charming and delightful stay. Exceeded what we had a right to expect. In addition to the flowers and Chocklate covered strawberries in the room as requested, Pam went the extra mile and had some romantic music playing for our anniversary celebration. Very nice!

My husband and I spent the night for his birthday and our annual October trip to Keeneland. The room was fantastic! Breakfast was wonderful! The only rather strange thing to me was that I never met the adult innkeeper. I have stayed at many B&B's and I was disapointed in the fact that the innkeeper's teenage children did all of the socializing with the guests. As a matter of fact the only time I even saw their mother was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and she never even introduced herself! The children were wonderful hosts but it just seemed a little odd to me.
I am sorry I didn't get to spend time with you--that is the best part of innkeeping! However, especially during our High season equestrian events, I must at times leave the Inn to purchase supplies, or be tied up in a suite or area making repairs. Innkeeping is a 24/7 job--it is indeed our life. With a house full it may be that we just missed each other--3 floors and the exterior wing--it is easy to do. As a family business we all take care of things and I rarely leave the property except to purchase groceries or to attend church. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your accomodations and look forward to meeting you another time, perhaps when we aren't at capacity so we can chat. As always-thank you for choosing Montgomery Inn!

Returning to my hometown of Versailles is always an experience. This was our 3rd stay at the Montgomery Inn. As expected, it was fabulous. We stayed 2 nights in the Victorian suite and it was spacious enough for the entire family. I must admit, having the kids join us this time at the Inn put a damper on the romance of the suite, but we all had a wonderful time. The jacuzzi was heavenly and the kids had a blast in it, too. Pam, Ross & Mikaela did a wonderful job making us feel welcome and we even invited my parents (locals) to join us for breakfast. Pam's breakfast were divine, and my family was very impressed. The eggs benedict with spinach are totally gourmet. Next time we are going to plan to have dinner at the Inn and try one of Pam's famous salads. We would recommend the Montgomery Inn to everyone.

My husband and I stayed in the Tara room and were Very Disappointed! The Inn's cats were the most friendly and hospitable but we were pretty much ignored by the inn keeper. The cats were very cold in the Kentucky winter temperatures. They had absolutely no shelter and would come up on the porch to look at their empty food & water dishes and beg to be let inside which is a pitiful sight to anyone who loves animals. No snacks or drinks were provided for us either. The inside of the house was a mess due to remodeling which we were not told about. The room was a total disappointment to us. The water pressure was so bad that it took over an hour to fill the nice jetted tub. The bathroom sinks were in the bedroom itself and the water pressure was very bad there as well. The sheets were poor quality and ill fitting. There was a huge urine stain on the back of the comforter! The bed was as hard as a rock. There was a tiny TV but I have a bigger one in my kitchen! All in all the only good thing was that we were in beautiful Kentucky and the breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Our visit to the "Montgomery Inn" was one of the most wonderful two days and nights that I have ever spent. The atmostspere was so relaxing. The Matthews are some of the best people that you would ever have the plasure of meeting. They were delightful host in ever way. They went out of thier way to make out stay as pleasent as it could be. The ambiance of the home is evident in all areas. the dining is wonderful. I woke up to the smell of sugar cured bacon cooking, the accomidations were luxerious in each suite. This is a Must on any list to visit for anyone who enjoys the Bed and Breakfast accomidations. It is located in a nealty organized city with many speciality shops. Well worth the trip.

Wow great B&B, Pam is the GreatestLoved our stay at the Montgomery Inn, Beautiful large room, and wonderful bath with two person tub and shower with dual showerheads. We stayed in the French room. We arrived early in the afternoon and were greeted by the Inn Keeper Pam. Pam gave us a tour of the Inn and we selected the French Room. The property is located next to open space large grass fields. Pam was informative on local dining and helped us with menus and recommendations. Very large dining area for breakfast and Pam offered to cook us a private dinner for two. The French toast and bacon were great. We loved our stay and wished we had more days to stay longer. We can not wait to return soon.

is the greatest little B&B in the whole world. Mike and Pam (Or is that Pam and Mike?) are the best hosts you can ever imagine. We just wanted to get outta town for a night or tow and this was just perfect. The updates to the rooms and the linens and baths are perfect. Come spend a quality night in Versailles. Even if you are just from down the road in Lexington !!!

We were welcomed like family during the most difficult of circumstances (the death of my brother). The hospitality was genuine and overflowing. The rooms were better than any pictures could depict and the food was amazing. Every detail needed for relaxation has been thought of. A must go to for Bed and Breakfst lovers and a very wise decision for those looking for something new. We will be back! Next time to celebrate something though and the memories will make it even sweeter!

My daughter and I visited Versailles to attend a funeral and we stayed 2 nights at the Montgomery Inn. Pam was gracious with our last minute reservation and made us feel completely welcome. Her daughter (Michaela) and son (Ross) were very helpful and sweet. As we arrived early in the day, Michaela gave us a lovely tour of the home. A very nice touch. Each room is so different and has it's own special touch. We stayed in the Maple Suite and it was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the decorations sweet. My daughter really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. There were several nice books in the room as well as travel guides and local attractions and restaurants. The DVD movie selection was wonderful. Our breakfasts were fantastic. One morning we had thick bacon with pancakes with fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas. The other morning we had thick bacon and (out of this world) French Toast with an amazing cream cheese nutty spread. Pam's cooking is fabulous. As I grew up in Versailles, on our next visit we plan to invite the family over to enjoy Pam's dinner. We can't wait to return. I am now able to fully appreciate the charm of such a lovely town that I grew up in . Funny how you don't realize until you move away.

We recently stayed at the Montgomery Inn B&B and found Pam & Mike, the Innkeepers (and their son Ross), to be most hospitable and always there to answer questions. They made us feel like we were visiting old friends. The B&B itself was wonderful--clean rooms, ample space, comfy beds--a great place to stay. Our room was restful and had all the creature comforts of home. Pam's home cooking should be in the reviews. Presentation, freshness, quality, flavor--all 4-star! If ever there was a place to return to, this is it ... and, we will.

I went to Montgomery Inn to recover my sanity as I tried to make sence of my life due to the recent death of my husband. I stayed two days by myself and discovered that Pam and family were very devoted to their guests every request and every comfort. I was jointed on the third day by a group of 20 friends from Kenova United Methodist Church, Kenova, WV and we were to leave for home on Monday. The group enjoyed Pam's wonderful Breakfast and Dinner, celebrated Rob and Robyn's 25th wedding, fellowship around an outdoor, and playing board games. We all went to "shop" and "eat" before we headed home and I decided at the last minute to return to the Inn and stay another night. I was very fortunate that I had the privelege of staying in three different rooms at the Inn and they were all "Extremely" comfortable, charming and most of all very clean. This is a great place to relax, explore, shop and refresh your mind, body and spirit. Pam and family are exceptional Inn Keepers, very personable and accomodating.

She and the family are great! the hospitality, THE FOOD, and atmosphere are outstanding! This is our special place to get away! We even recommended it to a group from our church and have the whole house booked in May! Cant wait!!
