Stayed in this B&B earlier this week in celebration of my wife's birthday and our 52nd anniversary...it was close to home and allowed us to spend some time in Bardstown at the museums...excellent. Upon on our arrival, the "interim inn keeper", Donna welcomed us and told us the history of this home. I have no idea why they would call her "interim" as she was a great host, brought us some dessert in the late afternoon and cooked an absolutely delightful breakfast...won't find one of these anywhere as the delicacies were unique and scrumptious. We stayed in the Lincoln Library room which was quite nice...quiet, comfortable...can't believe those bed sheets!. This is a home in the country...animals, crops and the wide open spaces. I chose this place because my wife is from the country and it brought back many memories...walked down the lane, sat in the gazebo and I laid in the hammock (needs to be repaired). The home is as described...literature says there is a horse farm next door but we never saw the horses because we understood they keep wraps on the animals as it is a cut throat business...race horses. We had never seen alpaca or llama in a farm setting...unique setting. Could not say enough about Donna...interim innkeeper!

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs before, but the other 2 couples had not, they were amazed at the hospitality Donna showed, us, the beautiful rooms, and magnificent breakfast we were served each morning. Was so comfortable sitting together evenings either inside or out

From the grounds to the innkeeper to the food and room all were superb, I highly recommend a stay here. Looking forward to going back. It rates a 10 on a 10 scale. Thank you Donna for being a superb hostess and innkeeper, every detail was appreciated.

Wow - I don’t know if I can put into words what an amazing experience we had at the Inn. It began the moment we drove up the drive, past the pastures with grazing Alpaca’s and Llamas, to the Manor. I had goose bumps because it was so lovely and majestic and yet felt like “home”. We were welcomed by Donna who was like an amiable house mother who wanted to make sure our every need was met. We toured all the suites and decided who would sleep where - no arguments as each room seemed to be perfect for certain people. Then we changed for the Rehearsal and Dinner in Danville. When we returned we hung out talking, singing, playing the piano, having hot cocoa and tea - all the while Donna was in the background at the ready to answer a question or help us find what we needed. One of the bridesmaids was making a small wedding cake and needed to use the kitchen - Donna helped her and let her use her kitchen with such openness. She is the quintessential innkeeper - available to help, but not intrusive. By the time we left we felt like she was a part of the family:) The smartest thing was renting the entire Inn for the night - made it so special for my daughter and her friends on the night before her wedding. It made the celebration weekend so much more memorable and we will always cherish your Inn as a the place the wedding began. We had a scrumptious, healthy breakfast which kept us all going till the wedding dinner and then the photographer and makeup and hair stylist arrived. We got ready in a storybook setting and now have some lovely pictures of my daughter and her bridal party in your amazing grounds and manor. I honestly cannot imagine anywhere else better to have this experience. As Mother-of-the-Bride, having Donna as my sidekick and helper was so valuable - not just for all she did, but for her words of encouragement and desire to share in my joy:)

I just returned from a weekend stay with my husband and two more couples that joined us to celebrate a big birthday. We toured some bourbon distilleries while in the area. Our experience at the Historic Maple Hill Manor was wonderful. The inn keepers, Robert and Colleen, were delightful. The food was beautiful and delicious. All of my group were very happy we chose to stay at the Manor. We hope to return someday!

I've not personally ever had the experience of reading about a place, getting there, and finding it to meet, let alone exceed, my expectations until I stayed at Maple Hill Manor. Usually descriptions indulge in hyperbole or the two best photos hide the less-than-elegant reality. Not the case here. This is the best BnB - ever. It's clean and plush, the innkeepers are consistently gracious, and the food is extraordinary. There really wasn't anything I wished had been different.

Maple Hill Manor was a perfect getaway. The house was beautiful and the farm was like a dream. The service was exceptional and the food was out of this world! I look forward to planning another trip down there very soon!

We spent Valentine's Day weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Caring and knowledgeable innkeeper. Great breakfast! Alpacas and llamas a bonus.

Our first stay at a B & B! Todd was our host for the evening & he was great! We stayed in the Abraham Lincoln Library, loved the fireplace & the bed was so comfortable, best nights sleep in a long time. Breakfast was wonderful, the lemon pancakes WOW I'd stay again just to have those pancakes! We visited the alpacas & lamas & the little shop onsite to purchase a couple of the alpaca fur bears to take home to the kids. We look forward to visiting again w/ a large group. I think it would be fun to rent the whole place as a group. Todd, thank you for the history lesson on the property & surrounding area.

Our stay at the Maple Hill Manor Bed & Breakfast was absolutely amazing. It was a great location for our Kentucky Bourbon Trail weekend getaway. The breakfast served in the morning was incredible and a great way to start our whiskey tasting day! I would recommend the Maple Hill Manor Bed & Breakfast for a great weekend trip.

Our family planned a weekend getaway including the bourbon trial and murder mystery dinner. I can't express how much fun we had, we rented the entire house and played the murder mystery dinner game. Everyone had costumes and props. This place was amazing! It was clean, beautiful, and authentic, built in 1859. The service was outstanding and the food was simply delicious. The innkeepers and owner made sure we had a great time, we will plan another trip like this one.

Maple Hill Manor is a truly magnificent "Old Kentucky Home" nestled into one of the commonwealth's most scenic regions. Although you are only an hour from Louisville and Lexington, the rustic setting and gracious Southern hospitality transport you 1,000 miles from the bustle of life.

We went for our first anniversary, and had a fantastic experience. The honeymoon hideaway had a very soft bed, relaxing jacuzzi and lovely private deck for watching sunsets. The television was very small and hard to hear, but the grounds were so beautiful that it was hard to spend too much time indoors (there is a great alcove in the trees with hammocks). Wish the fireplace had been real, but it is completely understandable in such a historic home why this cannot be the case. Breakfast was delicious, Adam was very gracious in catering to my dietary restrictions. Best part were the horses, llamas, alpacas, dogs and barn cats. Wonderful hosts, gorgeous grounds, extremely relaxing stay. Will definitely be back!

Could use more dining choices in the immediate area. Restaurants closed at 9:00 p.m. Also wineries and breweries close between 3 and 5:00. Not late enough to get to see many.

The B&B was extremely clean and employees were friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast! We had a romantic getaway and hope to get back in warmer months to view the fabulous property more.

We enjoyed a long family weekend at the charming and historic Maple Hill Manor. The hosts Adam and Rachael were warm and inviting. The facility is full of charm and history. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. If your travels find you in the Bardstown area of Kentucky this is the ONLY place to stay!

This was our second stay at Maple Hill Manor and we plan on coming back.
4.2 on November 02, 2014
This place exceeded our expectations - not knowing since it was our first B&B stay (but won't be the last after this visit). My husband and are now empty nesters with our two kids off at UK, we decided to do the bourbon trail and found ourselves with booking a little splurge for the trip (I'm a very thrifty person using Hotwire and Orbitz to save on hotels). This experience has made us want to do this monthly if not bimonthly. The InnKeeper Adam and the comforts in the room was great. Pros: The presentation and history from Adam was very very nice. The Alpaca shop and prices great. Adam made himself very accessible the entire stay. Adam was very interactive with the guest. The bedding was outstanding (we are use to a king bed so a queen was challenging) and I didn't want to leave the bed. Cons: DVD - upgrade to Blue Ray (some had blue ray some did not), Water pressure in sink, TV very small, better lighting at entrance, breakfast was good (a little cold) but I expected mind-blowing based on the reviews and awards.

This Inn is wonderful. The home is beautiful, the food is scrumptious, and the hosts are gracious.
5 on October 08, 2014
My husband and I stayed for our Anniversary weekend. It was more beautiful than the pictures online and the food was outstanding. We stayed in the Stephen Foster Room, which has a jacuzzi tub. The room was large and very romantic. The sheets were wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. We really had no complaints that would keep us from returning. The 2 items that did not exceed our expectations were that the grounds clearly needed some attention and the private bath attached to the room was extremely small.

Lovely B&B in Bourbon country; beautiful historic home; room is huge and private; bathroom is small (but we knew that when reserving); the bedding is luxurious; Adam the innkeeper is friendly and willing to accommodate; the grounds are beautiful, relaxing and so interesting with the alpacas & llamas; we wish we could have stayed a second night and will definitely be back!

The most beautiful place I have ever stayed! It was absolutely breathtaking! I loved the history of the home and the Innkeeper is wonderful! It is in a beautiful landscaping with beautiful Alpacas and horses on the property. Tons of history in this area!
5 on July 07, 2014
This was our second stay at Maple Hill. The first one was in the winter and we wanted to have a warm weather stay. We enjoyed the patio and of course being on the farm. The new innkeeper, Adam, was a very gracious host. He was attentive to our needs and helped out with many questions. It is a beautiful inn with cozy rooms and wonderful breakfasts. #1 choice whenever we are in the area.

We stayed for two days on this historic workinf farm in the beautiful Kentucky countryside. If you're looking for a serene getaway for a few days, this place is idealically suited. Service is outstanding and the house is amazing -like steppig back in time. There are modern amenities if you need to stay in touch but I suggest you toss your cell phone and breath in the relaxation!
4.6 on July 05, 2014
We stayed at the manor for 3 nights in the Clara Barton room. Our 6 year old daughter loved her 4 poster lacy canopy bed. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. There is free wi-fi during your stay, although the signal upstairs was a bit weak. There are also free games and DVDs to play in the player in the room. The food included with our stay was delectable. Todd baked delicious desserts nightly and offered complementary drinks. Every morning we were served gourmet breakfast. At the end of breakfast, Todd would ask us our plans for the day and offer to print out directions for us (especially important since cell and GPS coverage is spotty in the area). The dogs, Sammi and Sophia, would walk us out to our car. At the end of each day, Todd would ask us how our day was, offer us dessert or drink, and offer to help us make dinner reservations or suggest restaurants for dinner. We had fun exploring the property, feeding carrots to the menagerie (llamas, alpacas, horse), and checking out the baby kittens. Having stayed at hotels and bed and breakfast inns all over the world, Todd provided the best service! If you are thinking of exploring the bourbon distilleries in Kentucky, I highly recommend a stay at Maple Hill Manor. The manor's location is convenient to many of them, with about 20 distilleries within an hour's drive, along with the Cooperage that makes the bourbon barrels.

Maple Hill Manor is a gem in the hills of Kentucky. Our stay went by in the blink of an eye because of the conversations with other guests and the owner himself. can't wait to return.
5 on April 29, 2014
We didn't really know what to expect, having never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. We'd gone onto the website beforehand to look at the photos and choose the room (the Lincoln LIbrary), but still weren't sure what it would be like. In a matter of moments upon our arrival, we were overly impressed. The view of the house from the drive, the sweet alpacas, the views, and then the house itself - all created an experience that was both intimate and extraordinary, calming and invigorating. We will definitely return. It was beautiful.

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with your loved one while visiting the Kentucky heartland, look no further than this elegant manor. Todd, the owner, is a generous and gracious host, full of recommendations and offerings. The house and manor grounds are well kept and well appointed. The farm animals are a fun and welcoming addition. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Lincoln Library and couldn't have been more comfortable. A top floor room featuring vaulted ceilings and towering bookshelves, a pillow-y bed covered in what must have been an alpaca blanket fresh from the farm! We spent the evening watching the sunset over the rolling hills and horse farms from the comfort of the backyard furniture... bourbon in hand! From a past bed and breakfast innkeeper, I highly recommend the 1851 Manor Hill Manor!
5 on April 19, 2014
This is an excellent B&B in beautyful surroundings. We have been there 3 times and stayed in three different bedrooms and it has been excellent every time. The inn keepers make you feel really welcome. The gourmet breakfast is great, and it is always fun to see all the different animals on the farm. We are definately coming back even though we live in Europe and it is a long way to go! We are very happy that we found this place!

My husband gave me three nights at Maple Hill Manor for Christmas this year. I couldn't have asked for a better gift! I stayed between Christmas and New Years Eve. This is probably be 14th or 15th time I've stayed there and I have never been disappointed. From the house to the food everything is perfect. The beds are so comfortable that I could sleep all day. After the delicious, filling breakfast I often do go back for a nap! Todd and Tyler make you feel like family and MHM would not be the same without them and their furry family members! As soon as I turn into the driveway I feel the tension start to melt away and I know that I will spend the next few days relaxing and being pampered.

We stayed at this beautiful B and B for a few days while completing the Bourbon Trail tour. The location was perfect to the distilleries, wineries and Civil War Museum. Todd and Tyler are exceptional people. Todd greeted us at the door as if we were family. The home itself has been restored wonderfully and taken care with love. We stayed in the Jefferson Davis Room and our family in the Lincoln Library Room. I truly felt as if we had stepped back in time. The Alpacas and Llamas were a relaxing touch. They were very inquisitive and not shy. Tyler's gourmet breakfasts still make my mouth water. His award winning Lemon Souffle Pancakes with Blueberry compote was incredible. The eggs in puff pastry were awesome. The hospitality was a true reflection of our hosts love for what they do. We can not wait to come back and to visit their new B and B in the historic area. Thank you guys for a memorable visit!!

One of the best overnight stays you will have. I stayed at Maple Hill Manor B & B while I toured the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with my girlfriend Katie. Todd and Tyley where just great, even catered to Katie's gluten allergy. It sits on a great piece of land, enjoyed both their company outside as they shared stories of this great property. You are missing out if you don’t stay here. A real treat!!

We had stayed at other farm-based B&Bs and decided to try Maple Hill Manor when we were in the Bardstown area. We’re also interested in historic homes, and this 1851 home with its Civil war connection seemed interesting. The house sets at the end of a long lane with farm fields all around. We were greeted warmly by Todd who gave us a brief orientation, then we took carrots to feed some of the 40+ alpacas on the farm. There’s a nice arbor, a fountain, and some plantings in the front, and a small gazebo and swing to one side. But there aren’t nice landscaped gardens like we’ve seen at some other B&Bs; the view from our second-floor room (one of 7 guest rooms) was of fields, not gardens. And at 162 years, the house and rooms show some wear. Common areas are comfortable, but our room lacked some details; a loose fixture, unplugged lamp at inaccessible outlet, no hair dryer. And there’s little documentation about the house for history buffs. But the bed and sheets were indeed luxurious. A large, delicious breakfast was prepared by Tyler and presented by Todd and coffee, tea, and desserts were available in the afternoon. If you’re looking for a rural experience in bourbon country, give this a try. Otherwise, you might find a nice B&B with more attractions closer to Bardstown.
We appreciate the feedback, however, there are a few items that should be clarified related to this review. Maple Hill Manor has several garden areas throughout the property, of which we were awarded the top 10 B&B Gardens in the U.S. in 2013 by a B&B Directory. Unfortunately late September is not an ideal time to for full blooming plants. Furthermore, every effort is made on needed repairs and have since addressed the loose light fixture in the guest room and replugged the light from the previous guest's visit. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom cabinet...and verified that it was still in its proper location. As for history on the house, we usually share this information at the time of check-in or during breakfast. There is a book in each guest room which explains the history of the Manor. We are happy to share the history of the home with anyone who might have questions or wish to know the details. Thank you.

Had a wonderful 3 day stay at Maple Hill Manor. Todd and Tyler were superb, gracious hosts with thorough knowledge of the surrounding area - whether it was Civil War history, the best timing for all of the festivals, or expert guides to Bourbon country (and distilleries). Food was outstanding - both in taste and presentation. The setting was especially beautiful! This is what an ideal B&B experience is all about.

This is our 3rd time staying at Maple Hill Manor. The first time we came was for our 3rd anniversary and we wanted to see if we liked it because we were interested in staying for the Murder Mystery Weekend in November for my birthday. We absolutely loved our first experience, so we came back in November and filled up half the Inn! We just went back for our fourth anniversary and are planning on renting out the entire Inn for our own Murder Mystery! Todd is such an amazing Innkeeper and made us feel more than welcome. He offered to print us directions to anywhere we wanted to go and always knew all the happening around the area. Breakfast was phenomenal- as a matter of fact, we had just come back from a cruise (which are known for their awesome food) and the cruise food just didn't compare with our breakfast! And now that we've stayed 3 times, our next stay is free! I can't help but return to Maple Hill Manor!

This bed and breakfast is unlike most. Staying at Maple Hill Manor Bed and Breakfast is a splendid choice if you are going to visit the Springfield/Bardstown area or simply want to getaway. My husband and I stayed in the Stephen Collins Foster room, a very nice room, with good upkeep. I slept very well. The breakfast was delicious and very filling! The fact that there are different size tables for breakfast, instead of one large one for everyone to sit at, was a nice feature. Sometimes, you just want to enjoy the time spent with your spouse and friends. Wonderful! The innkeepers are all in good spirit, caring and helpful and contributing to a feeling of being relaxed. In addition to the beautifully decorated house inside, there is a wonderful patio area with grill, alpacas to feed, an alpaca store, beautiful walking trails...there is sooo much! We definitely need to go back and plan on it for a Murder Mystery in November! Fun times!!

We travel a great deal so a place has to be special for us to love it enough to return. This was our third trip to Maple Hill Manor and we have already scheduled our return visit. The hosts are genuinely wonderful, the food is consistently excellent and we love the Stephen Foster room so much we continue to request it.

Todd could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and was made to be an innkeeper. Why trust our judgement? Well we are also like Todd..award winning innkeepers and thus we have high expectations and also sadly too much knowledge of inns that try and don't succeed! Whilst the decor was not what we would usually seek out, for hailing from the UK traditional historic style is something we actively avoid, this place had the the right level of history and practicality. Our sleep was good, the linen first class and the place quiet. Todd one of the owners has found his calling and I can see why the inn has not only won many awards, but also is very involved in the the Kentucky B & B lodging association. What we were surprised by was that for the bourbon trail there actually seem to be very few quality small inns to choose from. The grounds do deserve a special mention as they have been created over the last few years and resemble the best garden you could find in an English country setting. The whole area around Springfield reminded us of parts of rural western England, as it was green, luscious and unlike Vermont where we own our inn, the roads were a dream to drive on...didn't see one pot hole all week! Special praise has to be given to Todd & Tyler as the 3 rescue golden retrievers were sweet hearts and plainly were well loved. We also assume the alpacas have a charmed life, and you can easily buy many gifts at the inn derived from their coats.

The grounds and atmosphere of everything was truly amazing. Thanks for making us feel so welcome. Hope to come back again.

I just returned from a lovely 4 day trip to the Kentucky Derby and stayed three nights at Maple Hill. It was just what one would expect of an old Kentucky estate. The grounds, alpacas, golden retrievers made for a homey experience. The food was wonderful and I would like to thank Todd and Tyler for such enjoyment and great service. Meredith Gibbs

My fiance and I stayed here in March. It was our first time staying with a B&B. We had heard about Maple Hill Manor from a friend and researching online. We were not dissapointed! Todd and Tyler are two amazing hosts. We only live about an hour away from the manor but were looking for a romantic weekend and to start the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Todd personally helped us plan our itinerary in advance. When we arrived Tyler greeted us at the front door, showed us around the manor, and made us feel right at home. We stayed in The Lincoln Library, which was amazing in itself. 14 foot ceilings, 10 foot doorway, 9 foot windows overlooking the neighboring horse farm. Floor to ceiling bookcases filled with old memorabilia, books etc. The bed was phenomenal, neither of us wanted to get out of bed in the morning as well as we had a fireplace in the room. Tyler and Todd have desserts on a table with refreshments all day and evening, and Tyler's breakfast is the best breakfast we have ever had. You can tell he puts his heart and soul in to making the food amazing and the guests feel special. We will be staying here again for sure!!

We were more than impressed with our recent visit to Maple Hill Manor. The inn is charming and lovely. I am a "neat freak" and I cannot say enough how immaculately clean this place is!!! I am hard to please in this area, but must admit I was very pleased! Todd and Tyler were so hospitable to us. We had some friends that lived out of town who came down to visit us, and they even made them welcome, allowing us to all use the parlor to visit and play games. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. I wish I could have eaten more of the food on my plate! The snacks provided the night of our stay were also a special treat. The animals were so friendly...the horse walked right up over to us to be petted! We absolutely loved our short stay, and I hope to be able to return. AH and family

We stayed two nights and loved it! The innkeepers were gracious and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding! A special treat was evening dessert that was available in the dining room. The Manor has been beautifully restored; the beds and bedding were exceptional; Todd was attentive without being intrusive; Tyler's meals and baked goods were perfect; and the llamas and alpacas were an interesting twist. We could not have been happier in our four days there. The best B&B I have visited and that is saying a lot.

Was a bit disappointed with our room, "honeymoon suite". The room was small and dark with a very noisy room air conditioner. Plus, we needed to use the outside narrow stairs to enter and leave our room. Todd and Tyler are excellent hosts. We enjoyed our stay.

Maple Hill Manor proved to be everything we had heard it was from family members who had already been there. The bucolic setting, the ambience of the house, the quality of the food, and especially the hospitality of our hosts Todd and Tyler made this an experience we will not forget and can't wait to repeat.

I have stayed in many B&B's over the years and have mixed experiences. The Historic Maple Hill Manor in Springfield is now my measuring stick. The home is gorgeous. The rooms are large and warm and welcoming. The alpacas and llamas are an added bonus as is the gift shop containing different items made from their fibers. Breakfast was an amazing experience. We were never hurried to do anything. The location is fabulous in rural KY with many things to do in the area. Best of all are the owners, Todd and Tyler. They give their home the soul and ambience that make me want to return soon. Actually I could just move in!

My husband and I stayed at Maple Hill Manor for our third anniversary. It was everything I had hoped for and then some. Todd and Tyler have outdone themselves. Todd was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some really good tips, he is the perfect host. Tyler was cooking something heavenly in the kitchen and I really wished we hadn't already had dinner, so we had to make do with the wonderful breakfast. I couldn't get enough of the Alpaca's, they are such characters. It's nice to know we don't have to travel far for a wonderful getaway. We will be back!!

Gracious hosts, beautiful mansion, exquisite rooms, gourmet breakfasts and so very much more!!!! Thank you Todd and Tyler - again!

So many little details went into making this a lovely and relaxing place to stay. We snacked on the patio, strolled along a little path in the woods, fed carrots to a llama, slept well in a comfy bed, and started the next day with a perfect breakfast. Everything was clean, comfortable, and welcoming.

My wife and I traveled to Kentucky for the Bourbon Trail. When we arrived at Maple Hill Manor after a day of distilleries and driving, we were amazed by the beautiful grounds. The trip up the driveway was like stepping back in time. We both instantly relaxed. We were welcomed by two beautiful golden retrievers and a friendly white cat, and then met Tyler. He was gracious and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. My wife toured the grounds, and came back commenting on the natural beauty of the place and laughing at the antics of the Alpacas. We spent the night in the Jefferson Davis room, which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My wife commented on the "little touches", like cloth hangers, that show how much attention to detail went in to Maple Hill Manor. Todd prepared "Breakfast Around the World", and it was outstanding! Tyler helped us get started on the remainder of the Bourbon Trail with maps and driving directions. Getting in the car to head out, I wished we were staying an extra day or two. Maple Hill Manor is a beautiful place, and we can't recommend it enough!
5 on May 28, 2012
This is the most wonderful B&B...Todd and Tyler just couldn't be nicer. The grounds are so peaceful, rooms immaculate, food scrumptious...what more can I say. We just returned today from our third stay at Maple Hill Manor and are planning a return trip in July and again in the Fall. Love this place!

My number ONE get away spot for sure. I already have reservations set for next year! We love this place and love Todd & Tyler. Thanks for letting me share my wonderful experience with you.

We stayed here for our 6th anniversary and it was well worth the money. A little more than the others we looked at but the reviews were all good so we tried it. No disappointments. The hosts are knowledgeable about the surrounding area, the food was some of the best I have ever had. The rooms are large and each have a bathroom. We stayed at the honeymoon suite but after seeing the other rooms I would say they all are just as nice. The alpaca farm adds a nice relaxing atmosphere and new things to look at. We will return!

Our friends have coaxed us to join them at MHM for a few years and this past weekend we were able to do just that, and what a treat it was. From the opening welcome by the dog and cat greeters outside to the warm and gracious hospitality of the hosts, Todd & Tyler, to the house itself, we loved it all. Be prepared for Tyler's breakfasts, a long pre-breakfast walk might allow you to enjoy them with a little less guilt. And the surrounding alpaca/llama farm is purely a bonus.

Wine, Dine, & Whirlpool for Two Package was a wonderful birthday surprise. The limo ride to several vineyards made for an enjoyable afternoon of wine tasting and meeting new people. Dinner in nearby Bardstown was all arranged by our wonderful hosts Todd and Tyler. From the moment you meet these two, you feel welcomed as if you have known them all along. Maple Hill Manor is a beautiful warm and friendly escape. The rooms are large with all the conveniences of home. We plan to come back when the weather is warm and bring family. Maple Manor has such a good reputation that we expected our visit there to be outstanding. Even with high expectations it was very nice to find that our visit more than met those expectations. The house itself was beautiful and very interesting. The hosts Todd and Tyler are very gracious hosts, and they are responsible for setting the tone of your visit. It would be hard to imagine how they could have done a better job. The gentle ambience of the house and grounds, the graciousness of the hosts, the supberb food and delightful accomodations make it a place we will continue to return to several times a year. One can never tire of perfection! Jae

Everything about this inn is wonderful. The food is gourmet. The beds are luxurious. The hosts are so friendly and provide everything you need and more. I love the setting high on the hill and seeing the cute alpaca grazing in the field. I also love hearing a little bit about the history of the home when it was used as a Union hospital during the Civil War. It's a wonderful setting for weekend getaways and would also be great for reunions, weddings, and anniversaries. You won't be disappointed. My friends and I love to go around Christmas and go into the nearby towns to shop.

My husband and I spent two nights in the honeymoon suite for our recent babymoon and it was amazing. Best B&B we've ever stayed at! The location was charming, the house and rooms were impeccable, and the service was perfect. The breakfasts were more than your average B&B, quite gourmet, and the chef is on a gluten free diet which meant that I could really relax and enjoy eating without worrying about getting contaminated food. Plenty of fun little activities around nearby towns, and the property itself was lovely to walk, visit the alpacas, and throw the tennis ball for the two adorable golden retrievers. So picturesque it was almost a cliche! Thanks Todd and Tyler!

This B&B is the way to experience Kentucky at it's best! Friendly, homey and still luxurious. Todd & Tyler couldn't be better hosts as they are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfasts are wonderful!

My friends and I rented the entire house for the weekend, 7 couples. It was a perfect little getaway from the children, just close enough to home to go back in an emergency, but far enough away that you really felt like it was a vacation…and what a vacation it was! We were greeted with beautiful scenery, amazing desserts and fabulous rooms. Todd and Tyler were constantly present, offering us complimentary beverages and making sure our needs were all met. Oftentimes I have stayed at B&Bs where the owners/hosts were absent. Not the case here. Todd was extremely helpful in offering assistance in the form of recommendations and maps to nearby attractions. Some went to Bernheim Arboretum. Some went on part of the Bourbon Trail. Myself and a few other mothers, we stayed back and enjoyed the quiet of the day, sitting in the parlor and the many chairs available outside. Tyler’s breakfast was amazing both mornings, as were the cakes, pies, and fudge. We were spoiled! Our group included those who had stayed at B&Bs before and some who had never been to one. However, we were all so impressed by our rooms, the farm, and the attention we received from Todd and Tyler that we have already booked the house for next year!

Our 3 day stay at Maple Hill Manor was the most enjoyable vacation at a bed & breakfast we have ever had. The food (breakfast and dessert) were outstanding. The owners were also very helpful in giving us suggestions on points of interest in the area.

Beautiful, elegant, wonderful, amazing, and a little taste of Heaven are just a few words to describle this enchanting B&B. This was our very first time staying at a B&B and we have no idea what we had gotten ourselves into but after we pulled into the driveway we knew we made a very good decision. Todd & Tyler are 5-star, 1st rate class professionals and make your stay the most enjoyable. The house is incredible and something you must see for your self! And the food - Wow - was very delicious! From pies & cakes to one of the best breakfasts we've ever had, these guys might need to consider opening up a restaurant too! Our room - the Jefferson Davis Room - was gorgeous, very comfortable, and had an amazing view of the llama/alpaca fields! Also getting the chance to interact with the llamas/alpacas was very fun & enjoyable and if you get an extra few moments of time, you must meet Sammy & Sofie, the two best golden retrievers you'll ever meet! So overall, from one night's experience, we've found that this B&B is just amazing and I hope everyone get's the chance to stay here at least once; but for us, we'll be back several times more! May God bless this B&B and Todd & Tyler!

Maple Hill Manor has been my retreat from Life's Wear and Tear for over 10 years, now. I love the experience more and more, each time I go to this beautiful home. Just pulling into the long winding driveway lessens any tension...if you ARE able to actually fall in love with a home, I have done so! Having said that, the Inn actually takes a back seat to the awesome InnKeepers!! Tyler and Todd are, quite simply, PERFECT at what they do and what they provide. T&T enhance the qualities that the home already has to make your experience THE best it can possibly be! I've met and made wonderful friends in this heavenly place...

My boyfriend and I spend one night at Maple Hill Manor on a recent long weekend vacation in Kentucky. We were celebrating our anniversary as well as my boyfriend's birthday and touring the bourbon trail. We stayed in the McElroy Honeymoon Hideaway, which was by far one of the nicest rooms in which either of us had EVER stayed. Todd was professional and friendly upon our arrival and even aided in making a dinner reservation for that evening. The decor and ambiance of the historic plantation home were both charming and comfortable. The care with which the the innkeepers maintain their property and assist their guests is impeccable. The breakfast was plentiful and deliciously upscale, but not at all pretentious. Like an foodie's version of traditional country fare. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Maple Hill Manor is a rare find in the world of B&B. True class, attention to detail, elegance, and gracious innkeepers describe this B&B. Beautiful grounds with breathtaking views of Kentucky rolling hills, and sunsets. Absolute exquisite breakfast. Creme de la creme... best of the best!

This was my first Bed and Breakfast visit and I can honestly say that we are planning to go back to Maple Hill Manor within the next month. I haven't felt so welcome and relaxed in a very long time. I also brought along my son who is 13 and he had a wonderful time playing with the animals and talking with the other guests. Todd was fabulous and made us feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was outstanding and the dessert in the evening was to die for. We truly can't wait to come back and thank Todd so much for showing us some peace and serenity!

Just reminiscing on the wonderful weekend we just spent at Maple Hill Manor. It seems we never leave without booking our next return visit and adding more couples to our party! At this point we cannot count our visits. It's like coming home to see family and friends. Through many years of gracious hosting and warm welcomes from Todd and Tyler, they have become good friends. The setting & grounds and the beautiful, comfortable luxurious rooms are just a few of the reasons we keep coming back. The wonderful gourmet breakfasts, of course, are always something to look forward too. True southern hospitality at it's best! Too, the added attractions of the animals on the farm and the historical charm of the house and grounds certainly add to the overall experience! See you soon, Todd & Tyler!
5 on September 06, 2011
Todd and Tyler make you feel right at home and treat you as if you are family. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The best part by far, is the delicious country breakfast prepared by Tyler every morning. They'll keep you full for hours! Make sure you save room after your dinner because there are always homemade deserts waiting for you when you get back.

Todd and Tyler were such warm and accommodating innkeepers. They went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. The Alpacas and llamas were so unusual and fun to watch. I loved the cats and dogs as well. We enjoyed the trail, gift shop, and breakfast. What a treat as it was both our first times in a B and B. I would highly recommend it to others and wish we could have stayed longer to relax more. Thanks guys for a nice stay!

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay at the Maple Hill Manor. It is a very well kept property. We enjoyed walking the grounds and the company of the animals that reside there as well. The innkeepers were very accomodating and did not hesitate to assist us with anything we needed. The food was excellent and enjoyed by all.

Maple Hill Manor hits every note perfectly. From the large and scrumptious breakfast to the beautifully appointed, spotless and comfortable room to the exceptionally gracious innkeepers, it could not have been better. We were fascinated by the alpacas and loved the well mannered golden retrievers too. It was three days of bliss and we have already made our return reservations.

5 on July 28, 2011
We loved it here. Todd and Tyler put so much effort and love into their B & B and their property and their animals, and it shows. The rooms are spotless and pretty and have everything you'd want -- fresh towels, robes, a TV, wifi. The grounds are vast, gorgeous, and well-maintained. The house itself is awesome -- truly historic, an authentic piece of the Kentucky. They leave out fresh-baked cookies and pies in the main room at all hours and are attentive without being intrusive. Breakfasts were very nice, served at a communal table, and it was a great atmosphere. You get the feeling the hosts stayed in every room, thought about every detail, and saw everything through their guests' eyes. This is also a spectacularly beautiful part of bluegrass country, with winding backroads and wonderful landscape. It's a peaceful haven, but right in between Louisville and Lexington and 20 minutes from Bardstown. Our dog also loved it here, and the host dogs were sweet and amenable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Maple Hill Manor is so warm and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, and the Manor is immaculate. Todd and Tyler, the innkeepers, are what make Maple Hill Manor truly exceptional. Todd provided our party great recommendations about various sites to see, as well as wonderful driving directions. Tyler's breakfasts and evening treats are beyond delicious! Best lemon pancakes ever! I can't wait to go back! And the alpacas are great, too!

My sister and I try to get together a few times each year and this year she traveled from Ga. to Ky. Our choice of B&B's was Maple Hill and we have decided this will be an annual location. The setting was perfection, the food beyond all expectations and Todd and Tyler were the epitome of cordial hosts! We felt comfortable, pampered and relaxed. Our strolls with the dogs to watch the alpacas were delightful and we had our choice of shady places to relax-from the gazebo, to the hammock or the swing on the patio. We have visited many B&B's, but Maple Hill is, by far, our favorite!

The hallmark of a good B&B is service, you will certainly find that here. Attention to detail along with a high degree of caring sets this B&B apart from many others, not to mention the delicious breakfast that had a first class presentation. No pretention here, the innkeepers know how to make each guest feel like royality. They also stayed up late to monitor the weather before an impending storm to insure the safety of their guests. Come see why they are rated at the top of their field. William & Kathy Midgett, Bowling Green, Ky

Over the last decade, I have made countless trips to Maple Hill Manor. If a person can "fall in love" with a home, I believe that is exactly what has happened to me! Staying in this beautiful B&B is consistently THE most restful, satisfying, and calming experience. The mansion actually seems to welcome you but it is the warm, genuine, generous and caring Innkeepers, Todd and Tyler, who truly make your stay a memorable one! You will end your time feeling as though you have made new friends... Meeting interesting and varied fellow Guests is also quite enjoyable but, if you want your privacy, a Maple Hill Manor get-a-way can be taylored to fit any individual's needs and wishes. I CANNOT say enough about the amazing Breakfasts that are served daily...Tyler is a talented, accomplished Chef who never fails to produce a memorable and delicious meal!! Maple Hill is truly a lovely place and something that shouldn't be missed!

This was our first stay at a B&B and we were very impressed. We never felt rushed, and Todd & Tyler did everything they could to make us feel at home & comfortable. I love how this B&B is on a farm with animals around. Todd told us about the history of the house, and educated us on alpaca's and llama's. Tyler made delicious breakfasts and pastries every afternoon. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the loving dogs, treated to the grand tour, shown our accommodations, and offered refreshments. Todd then helped with dinner plans providing us with suggestions, reviews and maps to get to our destination. Returning after dinner, we helped ourselves to one of three dessert choices Tyler had made and some tea. Todd again checked in with us to make sure all was well. We enjoyed a leisurely evening in the jacuzzi tub and almost slept through the alarm in the big comfy feather bed- pure delight! Breakfast was so good and big we didn't need to eat lunch!! We were sad we didn't get say good-by to the dogs in the morning.

Now what could be better and arriving at your destination and being greeted by the smell of a just out of the oven homemade apple pie (the fresh chocolate chip cookies the next evening were pretty special also). Outstanding! Everything that followed lived up to that rating. My husband and I need a quite place away from home and this was it. Todd and Tyler were wonderful hosts and met our every needs. I was very pleased with my visit to Maple Hill Manor. We were greeted at the door upon our arrival by one of the innkeepers like we were visiting a family member. They made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The honeymoon suite was a cozy little room. We enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi which was located by the fireplace. It is a very romantic setting. They provided lovely robes for us to use. The bed was so soft and comfortable. They offer several packages which we chose not to include in this visit but sound amazing. I especially enjoyed going to the fence and seeing the alpacas. That was a first for me. All in all, everything was satisfactory. Even though my stay was during the winter, the outside environment was still very nice. The gazebo, gift shop and patio/entrace area were lit up. I'm sure a spring or summer stay would be much nicer but for the winter, it really couldn't get any better.

This was my wife's and my 10th Wedding Aniversary. To say that this is the best bed and breakfast in the state of Kentucky is not enough. Everything was simply exquisite and they made our stay one of the most memorable at any place that we have ever been at . The inn keepers helped me plan my stay and helped me get everything I needed from the reservations for dinner to the wonderful food and even helped set the mood of the whole room with the lovely fireplace and the flowers and the food and somehow they even produced the snow outside. It was warm and cozy the whole time while the snow fell outside. Simply magical. The only complaint we had was that we simply could not stay any longer. We had to get back to the job, and the home, and kid. It was awesome, and we will be back very soon. We could not have asked for a better weekend stay for our 10th Aniversary. Thanks so much Todd & Tyler!!!

Our 2nd visit to Maple Hill Manor even exceeded our first, which we wouldn’t have thought possible. As far back as I can remember I’ve wanted to stay at a B & B over the Christmas holidays, and I was not disappointed! The decorations, the food, the warm fireplace in our room, and whole ambiance, was just stunning! We made memories for a lifetime. Everything was spotless and perfect, and Tyler’s breakfasts were amazing. Todd is such a perfect host you’d think he took classes in it, but yet you know he just has a natural knack for it. We are proud that they consider us friends, as we consider them! Can’t wait ’til our next visit!

Five of us shared two rooms for three nights and had an amazing time! The rooms were spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Todd was a warm, attentive and friendly host and Tyler's breakfasts and desserts were fantastic! We felt at home immediately and loved the family atmosphere. We will definitely go back!

We had a gorgeous outdoor wedding at Maple Hill Manor, and then spent the next 5 nights there, "getting away from it all." Those have been the best 5 days of my life! The peace, relaxation, and romance where everything we were hoping for. The hosts were so friendly, personable, and charming. Everything was elegant and impressive. We could not have picked a better location for our wedding and honeymoon. Everything was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be repeat visitors.

This B&B has to be one of the best. The room was beautiful, the food delicious, and the service outstanding. The owners make you feel so welcome and right at home. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We truly enjoyed our stay. I would give it my highest recommendation.

Maple Hill Manor is beautifully restored and the owners' attention to detail is evident everywhere you look. The grounds are gorgeous and I love having all the animals around - especially Sophie and Sammy, the official Golden greeters. MHM is definitely where I go when I need to relax. I could spend all day sitting on the porch reading a book. Then there is the food - I cannot compliment Tyler enough on his culinary ability. The food is delicious, and you never leave the table hungry. But the best part of MHM is the inkeepers themselves. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. They are always available to help you plan out your day and can even make the arrangements for you. I have stayed in several bed and breakfasts and this one is by far the best - the deserve every award they have won!

We recently enjoyed our seventh visit at Maple Hill Manor. We love the area's Bourbon Trail and history. We love the serene setting of the llama/alpaca farm (and the resulting clothing purchases). We love the elegant rooms. We love the gourmet breakfast feasts (and 24-hour dessert bar). We especially have come to love our gracious hosts. We enthusiastically recommend Maple Hill Manor to anyone who yearns for a relaxing getaway to an exquisite part of the country with plenty of pampering.

My husband and I wanted the perfect getaway before we become new parents. We decided on the Maple Hill Manor bed and breakfast and we could not have chosen a better place. It was fun to walk around and see the animals, talking on the tree swing, and loved the calm music playing that we even danced to. The service was outstanding. We really got to know Todd and Tyler and they both were so nice and helpful. Todd welcome us and was happy to help with anything that we needed. Tyler's desserts (out of the oven chocolate chip cookies, and pie) and the breakfast he made was superburb. Our room was amazing and included a jacuzzi, fireplace, tv, and an amazing bed. My husband and I enjoyed our experience so much and plan to go back next year. The thing I liked the best about our stay is that we both felt very comfortable. It was truly, a pefect getaway.

It was my first time (and hopefully not my only) visit to Maple Hill and it was just a wonderful stay. Many of the guests are repeaters, returning for many years. All of the rooms are beautiful. The parlor and dining room are beautiful. Tyler's breakfast's are to die for. Todd is especially welcoming and always interested in your day and offering suggestions. For anyone going to Kentucky, this should be your "home" during your trip.

The Maple Hill Manor Bed and Breakfast is fantastic! It was a great experience and my wife and I can’t wait to go back. As we first arrived we were greeted by two very lovable dogs and three cats. They were all so cute and funny…a great first impression! As we entered the house we were amazed at how lovely it was. It was built in 1851 and is still in wonderful condition. Todd greeted us and took us on a tour of the house. He was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the McElroy room which is a private suite on the second floor at the back of the house. It was a very spectacular room with a Jacuzzi tub included. The room was very private with its own stairway and balcony. We stayed two nights and both mornings the breakfast was amazing! Tyler is such a wonderful cook! Todd and Tyler made our stay very comfortable and we felt at ease just hanging out in the dining room during the day, chatting and having coffee. There were snacks and desserts out at all times…you will definitely not go hungry! The house was situated on beautiful grounds on a full working alpaca farm just a few minutes from downtown Springfield. Its also centrally located to the Bourbon Trail and many wineries and other tourist attractions. We will definitely be going back…it really felt like a home away from home.

They guys are great--efficient, wonderfully nice, helpful--and the B&B is beautiful and clean. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back. The animals are friendly and the area is lovely and peaceful. This B&B gets 100% and two thumbs up from us!

We were SO happy with our experience at Historic Maple Hill Manor! Every aspect of our time there was beautiful, interesting, and comforting, and the best we have experienced: the warmest and friendliest of welcomes, the easiest and nicest conversations, the tastiest homemade snacks, the loveliest music in the background, the most interesting grounds and most beautiful decor, the softest sheets and most generous pillows, the most delicious and interesting breakfast. Our hosts made us feel like visiting friends. They made sure we could reach them any time and generously assisted with every need. This is the one B&B we will make sure to return to--we may make the 8 hour trip just to stay there.
5 on September 20, 2010
Our stay at Maple Hill Manor was spectacular, and Todd & Tyler went out of their way to make our stay incredible. They have a keen attention to detail, and made us feel so welcome. We felt like we were staying with old friends. Our room was charming and cozy and spotless. The queen sized bed with its down-feather-top was more comfortable than my own bed! :) Walking in and being welcomed by a homemade cherry pie, homemade fudge, and warm brownies was the icing on the cake. Oh, and Tyler makes the best breakfasts EVER! :) Without a doubt, we will be making another trip to Kentucky soon, just so we can stay at the Maple Hill Manor. :) ~ Lisa & David from NYC

We have stayed at many B &Bs throughout the US and Mexico. Maple Hill Manor is at the top of our list. Todd and Tyler were so great to our girls while we were there (6 and 9). They even let them "herd" the alpacas. The rooms were beautiful, the owners were so kind and nice, and the food was amazing. The setting is very peaceful. We felt at home as soon as we entered the property. This was a wonderful experience. We will be back.

5 on July 26, 2010
We recently stayed at Maple Hill Manor as this was a birthday trip (50th) for my husband and he wanted to visit the bourbon distilleries. Our trip from outside the Washington, DC area took us (between extreme rain and a jack-knifed tractor trailer on the highway) about 13 hours (normally a 8.5 hour trip). We contacted Todd and he left a key to our room and a kind note for us. It was very thoughtful for him to mention that we could help ourselves to the fabulous dessert (blackberry cobbler and peach/raspberry cobbler). We had a great first impression and continued to be very impressed throughout our three night stay at Maple Hill Manor. The service (Todd and Tyler) and breakfasts (Tyler - exceptional job) were amazing. As a further testament to satisfaction, many of the guests that we spoke to were repeat guests. The setting was very peaceful and we loved seeing the animals on the grounds. In terms of value, I am used to prices in the DC area. As such, I thought Maple Hill Manor provided an exceptional value for guests (includes large well-appointed rooms, hearty breakfast, daily dessert, 24-hour beverage service, wireless internet). In fact, I walked away thinking that overall the value was among the very best of any B&B that we have ever stayed in. We hope to return within the next year for a little rest and relaxation.

I really enjoyed my first stay at Maple Hill Manor. The room I stayed in was beautiful as was all the other parts of the house I saw. The food was excellent and the service too. I recommend this as a very good choice for a Bed and Breakfast.

Just got back from our weekend at Historic Maple Manor. Couldn't have ask for a better place to go for a weekend get away. Beautiful, serene and couldn't have asked for a better host, always at your beck and call. The rooms were above expectation and very clean. Food was delicious and Saturday night treats were wonderful. Very relaxing and quiet. I would recomend it to anyone...and I will.

Beautiful house and surroundings. The breakfasts and treats were fabulous! The owners really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The dogs were very friendly to be around and one even jumped in our drivers side seat ready to go home with us. It was too cute! The only think I would suggest to maybe think about changing is the store you have outback. It is run down inside and isn't air conditioned. If people are going to pay $100 for an alpaca robe or blanket I would think they would'nt want it to be dusty or smelling like a moldy basement. It just needs to be fixed up some. Other than that it was wonderful and we would definitly go back!

We enjoyed our short stay very much. The best part of Maple Hill is the hospitality. Both Todd and Tyler exceeded our expectations as innkeepers. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated.

My mom and I stayed at Maple Hill Manor, and we had a wonderful time. The grounds were very peaceful, the rooms were beautiful, the food was heavenly, and the hospitality we received from Todd and Tyler was excellent! And we enjoyed Sammie and Sophie, their Golden Retrievers, and all of the other animals.

Maple Hill Manor is a relaxing experience. Visiting with the Innkeepers, Todd and Tyler, was a pleasure. Maple Hill's central location to Lexington, Louisville, Danville, Harrodsburg and Bardstown gives a variety of excursions to explore.

My wife and I treated Dad to a weekend at 1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor and a tour of the local distilleries as a Father's Day gift. Todd and Tyler, the owners / caretakers, clearly love to serve their guests as much as they love their home. Todd met us at the door, helped carry in our luggage and told us about the incredible history of this unique home. I was amazed at the attention to detail - everywhere you look you find some interesting little antique knick-knack, book, or architectural feature. The entire home is in pristine, museum quality condition, and is clean-clean-clean, no small feat for a working historic property. We stayed in the Abraham Lincoln room. An incredibly comfortable canopied bed, fireplace and gorgeous antiques were surrounded by 14 ft tall book-shelves filled from floor to ceiling with vintage classics interspersed with neat little things like antique cameras. I could have easily spent the whole weekend just discovering the hidden treasures in this room, but didn't. Tyler is an incredible chef, and we could not resist tip-toeing downstairs for a late night sampling of his lemon bunt cake and home-made chocolate chip cookies. After a very restful night we were treated to easily, no exaggeration, the best breakfast we have ever had. We all three agreed on that, until it was outdone by the even more amazing breakfast on Sunday. Spoiler alert: You have not lived until you have tried the hot jalapeño jam on buttermilk biscuits. This property is a fully functioning Alpaca farm. These gracious animals are so calming to watch. Todd and Tyler have an on-site store of Alpaca goods - we bought blankets and Teddy bears made from the extremely soft Alpaca wool. This weekend was a great Father's Day gift for Dad, and one that we will never forget, thanks to our hosts and this serenely calming, pristine B&B.

Todd and Tyler are superb hosts for B&B that is both a historic wonder and a working alpaca/llama farm. Accomodations honor the manor's history while providing modern convenience. We will be back soon.

We found the accommodations clean and warm and the welcome equal as well. The atmosphere was beautiful, the peace and quiet was great. The most memorable was the "warm greeting that they Golden Retriever gave us." Wonderful dog and gentle disposition. Would certainally consider staying there again. Though it was close to where we live, it was worth the investment. The Breakfast was wonderful as was the home atmosphere around the table and the story of the place was extremely worth hearing. Todd and Tyler were friendly and made one feel welcome.
4.8 on June 01, 2010
From the minute we were greeted at the door on arrival to the morning that we left, it was the most pleasant and peaceful experience. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated but you feel comfortable. We went out to eat dinner, and even greeted when we got back, like when you were a teenager and you knew someone cared when you got home! And in the late evening, there is a warm desert waiting and you can have a social time with other guest or brought to your room. We had full use of the house and grounds, including a beverage station, and a library of movies and games if you needed any extra entertainment.

We really enjoyed our stay! I was able to totally unwind and relax. The food was outstanding and I can hardly wait for Tyler's cook book to be published. Our room was very clean and offered many amenities. Tod and Tyler went our of there way to make us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the Lamas and Alpacas as well as the cats and dogs. We look forward to visiting again!

Our extended family of 11 booked the entire bed and breakfast to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Perfect in everyway--gracious hosts, gourmet food, spacious beautiful rooms, beautiful alpaca farm and views, sweet golden retrievers. We all agreed we felt at home and relaxed and had fun.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The hosts were friendly and very helpful with area information. They wanted to make sure our stay was pleasant and relaxing. The food and manor were outstanding. Our only complaint would be the small bathroom, but it was private and met all our needs. We are just used to more space. I would not let that keep me from returning.

We were only able to stay at Maple Hill for one night (unfortunately) but it was a lovely stay. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious and Todd and Tyler are very gracious hosts. The alpaca farm was such an added treat to the already gorgeous grounds. We stay at many b&bs when we travel and the breakfast we had at Maple Hill was to die for -- truly one of the best EVER from our experience. Hoping we'll get back again one day ...

4.8 on April 27, 2010
Loved our experience with Todd and Tyler at Maple Hill Manor. The home is well taken care of, and beautifully decorated. Our every need was considered ahead of time, and taken care of in a professional and gracious manner. Food was well presented, beautifully cooked, and satisfied both me and my husband. Normally we're opposites and not easily satisfied. Our room was comfortable and filled with collectibles and any amenity you might need while there, other than a stool to get into the high bed. I didn't ask for one, so they may have had that available, too. We had a super time and it was a very relaxing vacation. All our questions about area excursions were immediately answered, along with alternate ideas, too. I wouldn't mind living there with them, if they took permanent boarders, but meanwhile, this was a dream vacation for my husband and I.

We were greeted by Todd and Tyler who had refreshments and freshly baked treats ready for us. Tyler is a master chef and everything was fabulous. The rooms are immaculate, inviting, and comfortable. We were there with another couple and it was a highlight of our trip. There's also a small gift shop and we bought alpaca items, some of which were sheared from their own herd. We weren't really looking for a b&b in Springfield, but in the general area and I read the reviews from several. We are so happy we picked Maple Manor! The hosts are attentive, super nice and friendly, and caring. The beds were super comfortable--it's just a great place.

I can not think of a better bed and breakfast than 1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor Bed and Breakfast. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon. We had never stayed at one before and did not know what to expect. Todd and Tyler went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Todd was always available and asked if he could do anything for us. One night, my husband even ran out of shaving cream and Todd lent him his own personal can with a smile on his face. Tyler was absolutely wonderful as well. He was so funny and easy to joke with. Our car broke down and Tyler came out in the middle of the night to give us a jump. When that didn't work, he drove us to the next town to get a new battery! I could go on and on about these two wonderful gentlemen, but you MUST give this place a try and see for yourself!

The inn keeper goes over and beyond to accomodate, the house is superb, the most restful nights sleep I've had in awhile it's so cozy and comfortable, the breakfasts are very filling. Well rounded with main dish, side item, and fresh fruit. The dinner included with the Murder Mystery was very nice, a 5 course meal. I can't say enough positives, you would never regret your stay at Maple Hill Manor. Way to go Todd & Tyler. Oh and can't forget the Alpaca & Llamas, alot to look at.

Innkeepers and hosts Todd & Tyler have done an outstanding job of retaining the character and tradition of this well appointed and comfortable home. Upon entering Maple Hill Manor you are welcomed by the warmth of multiple fireplaces and courteous service. I was immediately shown to my room and given a brief overview of the experience at this Bed & Breakfast. The room was well decorated and comfortable with high ceilings and large windows looking onto the Alpaca grazing pastures as well as a quaint garden. Innkeepers leave a selection of desserts and snacks out for guests who wake in the night and breakfast was a luxury which included well a well planned menu and was finished with strawberry French toast. If you are travelling in the Springfield, KY area…or as in my case, travel out of your way to spend the night at Maple Hill Manor. Ray & Beth

We will definitely go back and recommend this highly to everyone.

This was the second time I had visited the B&B. My family participated in a Murder Mystery Dinner in October 2008 and had an absolute wonderful time. Because I had told others about this place they wanted to go. October 2009 we decided to do the ghost retreat on Halloween weekend. It was even better than the murder mystery. The activities planned were perfect for the weekend. I can't say enough about Todd and Tyler the innkeepers. They will make you feel so at home and the rooms are just so relaxing and comfortable. Oh....the breakfasts are outstanding! I'm sure an annual trip will be planned for the "Cousins"!

It is three months after our vacation that I am writing this review. And in the time since our family vacation, our time at Maple Hill Manor has been the most talked about. We would like to make a return visit in the future and spend some time just to sit and relax on the grounds. At the time of our stay we had already made so many plans to the sights that were just a short drive away and did not realize how wonderful it would be at Maple Hill Manor. My wife, daughter and I have been recommeding it to anyone traveling in the area. It is well worth the drive. Justin and Stacy Sayre Linneus, MO

We have been to Maple Hill several times, and can't wait to visit again. Todd and Tyler are the best innkeepers and always make us feel welcome and like we are at home. From the soft comfortable beds to the outstanding breakfast and desserts it doesn't get any better. The location of Maple Hill Manor makes it convenient to area attrations and in the heart of bourbon country. In our opinion there is no other B&B to stay at.
4.8 on October 05, 2009
Maple Hill Manor is conveniently located in the middle of Bourbon country and Lincoln country, not to mention sites associated with Daniel Boone, the Shakers, and the Civil War. There is always something to do--and you won't have to buy lunch because you'll be too full from a wonderful breakfast!! Don't forget to buy one of the marvelously warm and soft alpaca clothing items.

I have now traveled to the Maple Hill Manor twice in one year and I cannot wait until I visit again. I ahve been to several bed and breakfasts ain Kentucky and this b and b is by far the premier. You will be spoiled and you will feel like family when you leave. In my personal opinion, all other b and b's pale in comparison. The rooms are fabulous. The food is magnificent. The grounds are beautiful and fun. And Todd and Tyler are the BEST hosts I have ever met! It is perfect in every way!

We stayed one night at Maple Hill and it was nearly perfect. Out of the four bed and breakfasts we stayed at, this was the best. Todd and Tyler are wonderful hosts and made us feel like this was our home too. The home is beautiful and full of historical details. The best part of course was the breakfast. I believe it was the best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel or bed and breakfast. Tyler is an awesome cook and can't wait for a cookbook from him. I would recommend this B&B to anyone that asked. We thought this would be our only trip to Kentucky but Maple Hill has convinced us we need to come back again.

Maple Hill Manor is a beautiful estate. It's like stepping back in time to a bygone era. My wife felt like she was Scarlett O’Hara and transported back to Tara in Gone with the Wind. The house is beautiful and the furnishings are superb. The gourmet food was delicious. Breakfast was hardy and desserts were abundant. The grounds are well maintained with just the right mixture of open spaces and trees. One of the best parts of our stay was the entertaining owners. Todd and Tyler are very personable and gracious hosts. Always quick with a smile or story - they definitely enhanced our stay. I would recommend Maple Hill Manor to anyone looking for a great stay, tasty food and magnificent hospitality.

This is the second year we have stayed at MHM. It was just as beautiful and the food was just as delicious this year as we remember from last year when we stayed there with our 12 year old granddaughter. This year our daughter, her husband, and two granddaughters enjoyed our visit, and Tyler even fixed a gluten-free breakfast for our daughter. We are already looking forward to our visit there next year.
5 on August 09, 2009
We stayed at the Manor for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The breakfasts were out of this world, the rooms were beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. The setting is peaceful and relaxing and Todd and Tyler are more than gracious hosts even when you ask them a bunch of ridiculous questions!! I'm sure we'll return.

Idyllic setting for stay at B&B. The long driveway flanked by black rail fencing set the antebellum mood for our stay in Kentucky at Maple Hill Manor. Excellent time period decor, charming hosts and the BEST breakfasts we have had anywhere. ...a varied large delicious breakfast awaits you! Maple Hill Manor was the highlight of our stay in Kentucky.

Positive - My wife and I enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with other travelers at B&B's, which is the exception at standard hotels or motels. Suggestion: This particular location could use better signage on the highway at their location.

Have stayed at numerous Bed and Breakfast Inns in North America, some very pricey, and this was by far the best. The Innkeepers themselves may be the nicest part of all, very accommodating, helpful, open, available, and interesting, with not a shred of neurosis or idle blab to inflict on their initially exhausted patrons. They are simply great, making it very natural and enjoyable to relax and recuperate at their inn. One of them, Tyler, is also an excellent cook, making the most extraordinary breakfasts my wife and I have ever had, and is almost intuitively responsive to one's personal tastes. Their side-line is a llama and alpaca farm, occupying various paddocks located elsewhere on the grounds. These are gentle, fascinating and quiet creatures that anyone of any age would enjoy seeing. The house itself is veerryyy comfortable and spacious, with all the amenities and then some, all properly functioning. There are some very nice pets around, as well, which do not ever go into the building, so they can be known casually without danger of allergies. We found interesting books in the room that occupied the lazing about time that we had, and our room was lined with impressive bookcases filled with engaging bits of arcana. Very highly recommended.
4.8 on July 06, 2009
Todd and Tyler make great hosts in this wonderful setting in the hills of Kentucky. The Inn was fabulous, the scenery was spectacular and the food was delicious. Todd and Tyler made my wife and I feel like long lost friends. They were helpful giving directions and thoughts about the historic area. The sight of grazing alpacas and llamas is just the right thing to see when you want to relax. If the maximum rating is 5, we would give them a 5.
5 on July 01, 2009
This is our 4th time visiting Todd and Tyler. We have enjoyed each of our stays. The peace and quiet is wonderful. The breakfasts are awesome, and the afternoon desserts are a real treat. Todd and Tyler have a way of making you feel right at home.
5 on June 30, 2009
The Home was Amazing beautiful, a genuine era gone by. Our room was well appointed and as comfortable as you could imagine. Todd & Tyler far exceeded our expectations to make us feel warm & welcome . The breakfasts were well portioned and tasted like they were made on a TV show by professional chefs.. in short.......... DY-NO-MITE !!! The grounds and surrounding area is well maintained and in the evening all the guests sat outdoors in a very cozy patio area with relaxing music playing for our enjoyment. If I ever hit the Big Lottoooo....We are MOVING IN !!!! My bride and I LOVED everything about our stay.
5 on June 28, 2009
My husband and I were so thrilled with this hidden gem in KY. The hospitality was amazing. We were met at the door and immediately invited to a cold drink and freshly baked desserts. Breakfasts were different each day and always included more than enough delightfully delectable items. I am a vegetarian and try to stay away from sugars, all of my requests were accomodated and yet the items were still gourmet and resembled what the rest of the guests were eating. The suite included an outdoor deck, jacuzzi, shower, extra room where hot and cold drinks were provided. The outdoor gardens, where one could sit and relax and listen to music and watch the llamas in the distance were so inviting. This is a romantic, lovely place to stay. The hosts at this Bed and Breakfast offer hospitality that I wanted to bring home with me to New England! Don't miss this Kentucky Gem that is accessible to Berea, Shaker Village and more. Fred and Joyce

I went to KY to pick up my bottles of Maker's Mark Bourbon. I booked my room after checking out the various inns or B&Bs online. This was my first stay at a B&B and I was totally satisfied. After driving up the long driveway, I felt I was arriving at a good friend's home. When I arrived, I was greeted by Todd and the dogs and immediately felt welcomed. I spent two nights. Although I am not one for a big breakfast, I am a foodie. The repast placed before me each morning was delicious. My stay at Maple Hill Manor was enjoyable and most relaxing. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy Todd and Tyler's hospitality. I have done so to my daughter, whose bottles of Maker's Mark will be ready next year.

What a gorgeous home! We feel honored that Todd and Tyler share it so beautifully with the public. Tyler's breakfasts were not only scrumptious but aesthetically beautiful in their presentation as well. We had the McElroy Honeymoon Room, and the two-person jacuzzi tub was SO worth it! Todd was a very attentive innkeeper; he has a way of magically appearing just when you need him. A big thank you to both Todd and Tyler for sharing with us. Craig and Janet Newman

The Manor was excellently decorated for the holidays. We arrived late on a Saturday night, but Tyler was very enthusiatic in his welcome. Our room was amazing! A library with dark wood paneling and tons of amazing books to browse (including Gibbon's Rise & Fall of the Roman Empire and Sandburg's Lincoln among others) and lots of great antiques such as old globes and cameras. You must visit to find out about its interesting history. The breakfasts were amazing! And the store with all its Alpaca stuff cannot be resisted. Every girl dreams of the perfect wedding followed by the perfect romantic getaway. My dream came true thanks to the hospitality of Todd Allen & Tyler Horton 1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor. When we arrived there was a bouquet of flowers that matched my bouquet from our wedding. The room was breathtaking privacy, hot tub and white glove clean. I felt like a princess in this beautiful home. Every couple should get a honeymoon in such a romantic and beautiful setting. Todd and Tyler even had dessert waiting with out fridge full of goodies. We never had to leave the room. Every bride knows you don't get to eat much at your own wedding and Todd and Tyler went above and beyond to make sure we had the best weekend ever. The next morning breakfast was unbelievable they had this amazing egg casserole with sausage and several cheeses. They told us all about the home and it's amazing history. I have been to a few bed and breakfast before but none like this the atmosphere was just so uplifting and I will never forget it. Thank you so much Todd and Tyler for making our wedding perfect. My loving husband of 11 years wanted me to experience a wonderful Birthday before he left to go to Iraq. Because I have always loved staying in B&B's, he found this one on BedandBreakfast.com, in a community that has always been close to our hearts. The website looked intriguing enough to make the reservation. The prices are reasonable. Immediately upon arrival, I knew it was going to be special. The home is grand and spacious, tastefully decorated. Our hosts COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE GENEROUS, lavishing us with delicacies from the kitchen and warm conversations in the dining room. They directed us to special places to see in the area. Our room was absolutely private, quiet, clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable and grand all at the same time. We stayed for two nights and returned the following year, with hopes to return yet again next spring. Truly a 5 star experience.

After staying at Maple Hill Manor for the first time over seven years ago, I have tried to tell as many people as possible about this lovely and refreshing "step back in time!" All of these glowing reviews still cannot convey how wonderful the Inn truly is. It's something that you must experience for yourself. The welcoming mansion, the sweet animals, the peaceful sleep, the caring Innkeepers and the most satisfying breakfast that you have ever had are just a few of the reasons you'll return again and again!

I absolutely loved Maple Hill. It has everything: history, comfort, charm, gourmet food, excellent hosts, and even llamas and alpacas! I felt like Scarlett O'Hara wafting down the main staircase, and next time I want to stay in the Lincoln Library. I can't wait to go back.

I was treated so well, and the owner made me feel welcome. The breakfast was the greatest. I would recommend anyone to stay there. The room was clean, air conditioned, lots of space.

My sister gave our family a night at Maple Hill Manor as a Christmas gift and we loved every moment that we spent there. The home was breathtaking, food delicious, our Murder Mystery Night was so much fun and the owners were terrific. We hope to make this an annual trip. We loved it!!!

Our group of 12 ladies (domino playing friends for over 35 years) had a wonderful overnight stay after visiting Versailles and Bardstown. We so enjoyed the accommodations, hosts, surroundings, and of course the food that we will probably return soon. The birth of a baby alpaca the day we arrived (black and white) topped off the experience. Thanks for a fabulous experience.

We decided on our first trip here, this is where we wanted to get married. We also came back for our first anniversary and Todd & Tyler could not have made any of our visits more perfect! The house, the grounds, the food, the extras they provide takes your expectations beyond your wildest dreams!

Maple Hill Manor is one of our favorite places to visit - beautiful, relaxing & very enjoyable! My son & I have visited 3 times, and can't wait to visit again this summer! The rooms are both beautiful & comfortable, and Todd & Tyler are the most wonderful hosts. We love the breakfasts, and also the special treats each afternoon and evening as a snack. We highly recommend MHM!

I've shared this on a few other sites, but forgot to share it on the site where I learned about this b & b. My fiance and I visited Maple Hill Manor the weekend following valentine's day. What an amazing stay! I am a seasoned b & b guest and my fiance has never stayed in a b & b. He is now sold on b & b's - because of the experience with Todd and Tyler at Maple Hill Manor. The food, the hospitality and the level of service are exceptional! We will return - and we're thinking about hosting our wedding there. You will not be disappointed!

Imagine a full mansion of women celebrating a mother/daughter getaway during the holiday season! It was so beautifully decorated for the season--and the murder mystery was so much fun. The girls were getting louder and louder as the evening went on. At 2:30am some were still howling in their pj's! What a perfect place to enjoy!

There aren't enough adjectives to describe how wonderful our stay was at Maple Hill Manor! This was our first time at a B&B and we were a bit apprehensive. We needn't have worried -- Todd & Tyler welcomed us like old friends, yet were respectful of our privacy. Their hospitality and attention to detail was evident in all they did. The breakfasts were mouth-watering delicious. The gorgeous home is steeped in history, all the animals are wonderful and the rural beauty of the farm left us with a peaceful feeling that lingered even after we arrived home. We loved everything so much we've already made reservations for our next visit!

Maple Hill Manor has become our favorite B&B, and we've been to quite a few! No one could possibly leave disappointed. We highly recommend it, and that's why we're planning our 3d visit there.

We so enjoyed our stay at Maple Hill. Todd was most hospitable and helpful in providing spa services and directions to area attractions. Tyler cooked us the most divine breakfasts, we've ever eaten. We felt so comfortable and at home. The animals are all lovely from the alpacas to the most friendly dogs in the world. Say hi to Sophie & Samson for us. We loved learning the history of the house & delighted in the stories of the ghosts that still roam the halls. We are already planning a return visit.

We celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary at this charming B&B. Todd & Tyler were such pleasant hosts and made us feel at home. The surrounding grounds made for a beautiful walk, with plenty of cats and dogs to pet. :) Each room has its own unique look. We loved the Honeymoon hideaway, especially the jacuzzi. We definitely recommend saving time to explore the grounds & house, making sure to return in the evening for Tyler's desserts. The drive to Bardstown & surrounding cities was gorgeous. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our stay and plan to return soon. P.S. My only tip: do not wear flipflops when walking around the farm. :)

The Inn Keepers are personable and as charming as their Inn. There is something for everyone. Todds historical information is priceless and Tyler's food would make Paula Deen go, "YUMMMMMMM"

Our visit was special because we had two girls (9 & 13 years old)with us that had never spent a night in a B & B together. Todd and Tyler went out of there was to make sure that their first visit was a special one. The home and grounds are spectacular, very well appointed, but very comfortable as well. The fresh apple pie before retiring and the breakfast in the morning were scrumptious and great!. The Alpacas and llamas on the grounds were a special treat along with the friendly mare, Pretty Penny. Highly recommended.

We loved the house and our room. Nice atmosphere, relaxing. Good food.Innkeepers very friendly. What made it special was the little things. The fireplace burning, the gorgeous two dozen yellow roses, gift basket, chilled drink and glasses, chocolates, a small book of poetry on the table by the bed and music. On the CD was the song done at our wedding. This made it very special. One of the best romantic anniversaries we have had. Thanks again Todd!
