Maple Hill

Parlor is a bit overdone for my taste; otherwise, the house, rooms, and entire property is perfect. A great find in a rural area.

Nice Place to Stay

The Maple Hill B & B is a winner. A beautiful old home with scenic views from a variety of locations. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. This is a great place for a relaxing get-away.

Relaxing stay - with Fantastic lake views

5 on August 25, 2017

Quiet, secluded B&B, was perfect as a top over on a long trip. Breakfast was excellent and presentation beautiful. Morning coffee on the second floor deck overlooking lake was hard to leave.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for taking the time to write such nice things about Maple Hill...I can't take credit for the view but it is a million dollar view of God's creation :)

Hilltop panorama of Lake Barkley

4.2 on August 07, 2017

Maple Hill occupies an extraordinary vantage point overlooking the Land Between the Lakes and the Cumberland River. Rooms are comfortably appointed and clean. Everything works, which is a blessing in a historic old house that has been upgraded with amenities. We would recommend this B&B if its exceptional locale is what you are looking for; however we must add a caveat. The innkeeper has posted curt notes to remind clients of check-out times and rules, etc. There seems to be a fussy side to operations here. Just a caution.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for the kind comments of our home!... Sorry about the "fussy side of operations". We have been having a hard time of our guest honoring our check out times... especially on Sunday. God has truly blessed us with allowing us to live here on this beautiful lake and we feel the least we can and should do is to honor him on the Lord's day and attend church. We have had guest who are not respectable enough to check out so that we may attend church as we encourage our guest to attend a church of their choice. We have found that now that we have had to go to curt notes people are being a little more mindful of our request... sorry it had to take curt notes to get their attention. the saying ;bad apples spoil the bunch is really true,

Lake view from the hill

4.2 on July 29, 2017

Maple Hill offers an idyllic vantage from which to observe Lake Barcley. The house is historic but with modern amenities. The setting is peaceful and regenerative. Our recent stay of two nights was a great segue to the Ozarks. The only caution we would throw alongside is that there is some fussiness about rules and strict observance of time, especially if you check out on a Sunday. Even if keeping rules is not a problem for you, you may feel some unwelcome pressure.

Innkeeper Response
So glad you were able to enjoy the peaceful and regenerative views of lake Barkley. Sorry about the fussiness of rules and about time. Our check in it 4-6pm central time daily. Our check out is 11am Monday thru Saturday and 10 am on Sunday... so that we may attend church. Sorry for any inconvenience, it is not our intention to make you feel unwelcome... however we do ask that our guest please respect our request to check out at appointed time. We have had guest who feel that check out times do not apply to them and head to the pool or to the dock at check out time and go and swim for an hour or two...when reminded that check out was a 10 am on a Sunday morning that stated they were aware of this but kept swimming. In turn we missed going to church as a family. Very disappointing to us on the disrespect shown to us. However on a happy note:) we have had many people to praise us on sticking with our practice of encouraging people to go to their church of choice on a Sunday... God's day!

Perfect Getaway in Lake Suite

5 on June 14, 2017

Everything was great! Only recommendation I would make is to have a lamp in the bathroom, the light is on the same switch as the fan and it's really loud so hard to relax in that amazing bathtub! Relaxed environment, easy check in and checkout process, a great breakfast and just a fun time. Will definitely go back and I've already recommended to friends!
