I love bardstown and this bnb is the highlight of the trip. I love Audrey's cooking. The location is convenient.

It was very comfortable and there were many places to walk to for dinner and entertainment. Audrey was a phenomenal host and her homemade breakfasts were exceptional.

Breakfast was wonderful. The bathroom in the violet room was very small. I didn't have the best experience when I called as I didn't feel they were very polite. The owner is very nice and accomodating.

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Rose Inn in Bardstown. It's perfectly located for a visiting the many distilleries throughout central Kentucky. Audrey makes the best eggs benedict and fruit tarts east of the Mississippi. You will enjoy your stay.

Audrey went out of her way to make us feel welcome...There were cookies and beverages upon our arrival. Her breakfast was delicious, especially the breakfast lasagna made with sausage gravy and spinach. She was always willing to answer any questions about local activities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Rose Inn! Audrey is a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook! We will make this our "home" away from home anytime we are in the Bardstown area.

Returning for another Vietnam Infantry reunion, Audrey keeps exceeding expectations. I was delighted to return and experience another wonderful 4 days. The room was perfect, the other guest delightful, and, of course, the breakfast was incredible. The first morning I spent 3 hours at breakfast! Perfectly charming host and venue. bill scott

We really enjoyed our stay! Our only complaint is that the room we chose (The Magnolia Room) was on the front side of the house and the road is pretty busy and noisy...we aren't used to traffic noise so we did not sleep well. BUT that being said, we would stay again and just choose one of the rooms on the backside of the house. Audrey was a perfect host and the breakfast was delicious! We also enjoyed the company of the other guests at breakfast. Bardstown was one of the friendliest towns we've ever visited. While there we enjoyed visiting Hadron's Bakery (you need to go there and get there early!), Primitive Crow Antiques and The Rusty Rooster.

Audrey and Rosie are great hosts. Take some time to let Audrey tell you about her life experiences. That is time well spent. The bed is super comfortable and the breakfast is worth the stay all by itself.
Thank you for the kind words. It is so interesting to learn how all our life paths have some similar patterns.

I traveled to Bardstown for both business and pleasure on this trip. I have several additional visits to make to Bardstown and I will only stay at the Red Rose Inn. The service and friendly care of the innkeeper made me feel like I had a home away from home. I stayed in the Garden Room, but all the rooms were charming, comfortable, and private. The Inn couldn't be any more convenient to downtown--we walked to restaurants and shops. The food was healthy, homemade and delicious--we were loaded up with cookies for our day trip to Mammoth Cave. If I was closer to retirement, I would buy the place myself (it's for sale at a bargain).

Audrey is a fantastic Innkeeper and I really enjoyed staying at her B&B. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were wonderful as well. In addition, the location was excellent and very easy access to restaurants and many other interesting sites around Bardstown.

Audrey was amazing, she made us feel right at home and the breakfast was phenomenal. Also in a very good location it is about one block walk from shops and restaurants. This is a must stay if you are looking for a B&B in Bardstown.

Found this excellent B&B on-line, booked and stayed for 4 nights. This is a beautiful Inn spacious rooms and well furnished decor. Right in the heart of Bardstown with easy access to all areas of this stunning little town. Audrey, the owner, is a treasure and a fabulous cook to boot. She made us very welcome and our whole stay was something we will cherish forever. Rosie, her wee King Charles spaniel, was cute and much fun. Overall, our stay in Bardstown was made complete by the Red Rose Inn experience. Many thanks Audrey. Alex and Roseanna Hood Bill and Brenda Hilson Scotland UK

We were so impressed with our first stay six months ago that we came back for another two nights recently. We enjoy the hosts company, and there is nothing like the breakfasts that she prepares. She is an artist in the kitchen and it is delicious. The Inn is located just two blocks east of the center of town in a historic neighborhood. Her home is a delightful trip into history with various knick knacks and period furniture. If we get a chance we will stay there a third time.
5 on September 07, 2016
This was our first trip to Bardstown and staying at the Red Rose made it perfect. Audrey was the perfect hostess. The room was beautiful. The food was exceptional. Most everything we wanted to do was within walking distance from the house. Would definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

Great Bed and Breakfast - very friendly owner, gourmet breakfast, fresh baked cookies and snacks. The perfect place to stay in Bardstown

I had a great time at Red Rose Inn. The Hostess was kind and her dog was cute! I was in the Magnolia Room and it was nice and clean. In the backyard there is a hot tub and a couple of koi ponds. It's a short walk to Talbott Tavern and Harrison Smith House from the Inn. (I had dinner at Harrison Smith House and it was a great meal!) And you can easily walk around the Historic Bardstown District with all of the shops. Breakfast in the morning was big and delicious! I had a great time overall at Red Rose Inn!

We had a marvelous stay in the Red Rose Inn. We were able to walk to great restaurants, pubs, shops. Also walked to the Civil War Museum, thanks to our host's suggestion. Audrey is a lovely host and served a delightful breakfast that got us through to dinner! She also offers snacks, drinks, and cookies. Really enjoyed talking with her. The Inn is being sold but I hope new owners continue the tradition of great hospitality. Thanks Audrey and best wishes!

My husband and I enjoyed two nights in the Hunter Room. It is on the ground floor near the entrance. The room was comfortable and met our needs. When we returned to our room later in the day, there were clean towels and the bed was made. We were not disturbed by visitors coming and going. The location of the B&B makes it easy to get to local attractions and restaurants. However, the traffic on Stephen Foster was constantly busy and loud. (My only complaint) Audrey is a gem! She was attentive to our needs and is a fabulous cook! She suggested and then arranged for us to use the shuttle to the Stephen Foster amphitheater. We were so glad we didn't have to navigate the traffic! We enjoyed two fabulous meals, one inside and one outside on the deck. The tables were set beautifully. Attention to small details, such as edible flowers and mint topping our fruit cups, was an added bonus! The grounds and koi ponds were relaxing. We enjoyed our stay!
5 on July 04, 2016
Truly enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding! Made from scratch breakfasts were different both mornings we were there!
5 on June 25, 2016
Great place, breakfast was fresh right from the kitchen and the best of any place we have stayed before.
5 on June 12, 2016
In a word our stay was wonderful! Audrey was a true artist with the amazing breakfasts she made. You never left hungry or disappointed. As soon as you walked in the door you felt the warmth and peacefulness of the place as if it was saying welcome home. Audrey added to it by her warm and caring personality. The room we stayed in was perfect for our belated honeymoon. It was beautiful! Audrey even had a rose waiting for us to celebrate the occasion. I could not say enough about how much we enjoyed staying at the Red Rose Inn in the beautiful town of Bardstown KY, and I would definitely recommend this place to all who read this.
4.8 on June 05, 2016
This is an excellent B&B only a block from the center of town and several places to eat or shop. Beautiful grounds, two koi ponds, an expansive patio and a covered front porch, and of course rose bushes. We had a wonderful and huge breakfast of apple fritter in the skillet, fresh fruit cup, sausage, OJ and coffee, and banana bread. Check-in included chocolate chip cookies. The California King poster bed in the Hunt room was very comfortable. The house is about 180 years old, but in great shape, modern fixtures and power, air, wi-fi, cable, etc. We would stay there again. And of course, Rosie the tiny, big-eyed spaniel was a most endearing critter. Well behaved and quiet, loves to have her chin scratched any time.

This is a nice B&B, with a beautiful old home. Entering it, my wife and I felt cozy. We were welcomed, given a brief tour and overview and left to our own devices. The food was outstanding, the bread pudding with bourbon sauce was, easily, the best food we had. Considering, we had dinner on the Dinner Train, that's impressive. The price was right, the food was good, the room comfortable and the company friendly.
5 on March 29, 2016
We really enjoyed our stay. First things first: the breakfasts are out of this world. She served fruit cups, hot pastries, and creative meat and egg recipes on each of our three mornings. She really puts a lot of effort in and the result is delicious. We stayed in the yellow room. It is spacious and the mattress is comfortable. The antique décor throughout the house is attractive. The house is two blocks off the center of town so we left our car parked much of the time and walked. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here for a long weekend, to visit the Bourbon Trail. Audrey was a wonderful host, and her breakfast was amazing! If you want a great place to stay, that is also convenient to downtown Bardstown, this is it!

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Rose Inn. The hostess is a kind person who truly cares about your visit; it is fascinating to have a conversation with her. The home made breakfasts were a treat, the baked good are unique and fun to try. We had a candlelight breakfast with great food. Our room, though a bit chilly at times, was charming and had everything we needed. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Spent one night recently at the Red Rose Inn. Parking out front is on a Main Street. It is a busy road but was not too loud (on a Tuesday night). Great location within walking distance of restaurants (Harrison-Smith House, Mammy's Kitchen & Old Talbott Tavern) and attractions. Also, if you are a bourbon buyer be sure to stop in Toddy's Liquors (also within walking distance) to find some gems. A bit limited with room outlets if you have lots of electronic gadgets, but it is a house from the 1820's. Our host, Audrey brought out a multi-course homemade breakfast that put our previous B&B with a full restaurant kitchen to shame. No lunch needed! This place is for sale and awaiting some fresh energy. Stop in before you miss Audrey's baking.
5 on September 27, 2015
Audrey is the consumate host and innkeeper! The room was perfect, the breakfast was to die for, and the location was excellent. Went to Bardstown for a reunion of my platoon from Vietnam...we all want to stay there during the next reunion. I highly recommend....
5 on September 27, 2015
The spacious room with authentic furniture and interesting art pieces made us relax. The fantastic breakfast's and warm care our hostess provided rounded out a perfect vacation. On top of all that, the grounds were beautiful, but what really topped off the Inn was the location. All of Bardstown was in easy walking distance and the in is a perfect central location to explore the surrounding distilleries. We plan to return.
5 on September 16, 2015
Everything was always there when you needed it. Our hostess proved to provide both a fantastic stay and lively conversation when ever you showed an interest. Did I mention the food? Each meal was a devine twist on familiar flavors. The breakfasts Alone would put the Red Rose Inn at the top of my list.

This was our first time at a B&B. We were kind of nervous, not knowing what to expect. Audrey was a wonderful host. She put us at ease the moment we stepped through the door. The house was full. But we didn't know anyone else was there until breakfast. The location was perfect. We had easy drives to the distilleries and walking distance to dinner and shopping downtown. The breakfast was terrific. The sausage and bacon cups for the eggs were delicious. Plenty of food to hold you over as we spent the days following the bourbon trail. I have to mention the Rick House restaurant. It was probably one of our top 5 dining experiences ever. It was hard to find due to its location, but so worth the journey.

Very charming place. Beautiful grounds and close to downtown shops. My only complaint (and not really a complaint but suggestion) is the inn keeper did not really explain details but I am not shy about asking!

The Red Rose Inn is of decent quality and size. It could use a bit of updating though. Audrey is very accommodating and breakfast was good. Parking is on the main street only and the main street is very busy and noisy. We stayed in the yellow room and even the front windows were closed and the back windows opened, traffic could still be heard. Stewart assists with the property and is very friendly. I would recommend this B&B.

We loved our stay at the Red Rose Inn and we loved Bardstown. Red Rose was the perfect spot for being within walking distance of everything in town & very convenient for driving to the nearby distilleries for bourbon tasting. Our room was immaculate and very well decorated. It was also super-quiet which made for a good night's sleep! Breakfast was wonderful & you could tell it wasn't just 'prepared,' there was a lot of thoughtfulness put into preparing a wonderful meal. We'll definitely stay here again!

The REd Rose Inn was a delightful find right in Bardstown, KY. The Inn is located just a couple blocks off the main square and easy walking distance to downtown, visitor center, and several museums. The Inn is in great condition and the room was very nice with comfortable furnishings. There are snacks available all night, but this is truly a bed and breakfast. Make sure you are there for Audrey's homecooked breakfast...it is wonderful! She is a great host.

We really enjoyed our stay with Audrey at Red Rose Inn. Her cooking was out of this world along with her hospitality! Our only con was the bathroom was a bit small in our room (the Violet Room). Other than that we have zero complaints and would return again!

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay for a weekend getaway. The location was great, within walking distance to downtown Bardstown. The breakfast was very good as well. The inn and room were decent, very quaint and much homier than a hotel, which was nice. However, our room felt like an ice box! When we booked our room, the website mentioned an individual thermostat in the room, but we were unable to locate it. We brought the problem with the temperature to Audrey's attention, and she did try to rectify it with a small space heater and an extra down comforter, but the room still was not a comfortable temperature for sleeping. I woke in the middle of the night and needed to use the restroom but didn't want to get out from under the covers because it was so cold! Audrey told us that we would be the only guests the second night (the inn was full the first night), so we could try switching to another room or sleep with our door open. However, in talking to the other guests during breakfast, we discovered that everyone was just as cold as we were. Audrey said this has never happened before, so I'm not sure if it was an isolated problem with the heating, but based on our experience, I would recommend not staying here during the coldest months of the year. It probably would have been a fantastic experience had it not been for the uncomfortable temperature in the room.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Red Rose Inn! The innkeeper was very friendly and made an incredible breakfast for us jn the morning! The property was nice with a great patio out back where we enjoyed drinks with our friends before our dinner reservations. Our room felt very clean and was free from the clutter that you can sometimes find in B&B rooms. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend others to do the same!
4.6 on September 05, 2014
The B&B itself was comfy and adorable, and the food was amazing. I wish I could eat a breakfast that delicious every morning. Our only complaints were that the jacuzzi was unavailable (not that big of a deal to us -- we didn't come for the hot tub) and the noise from traffic on the street negated the convenience of being so close to downtown Bardstown. But both negatives were outweighed by the rest of a great experience. I would definitely recommend this B&B to friends and family.

Outstanding gourmet breakfast each morning- best ever in a B&B. We enjoyed meeting other guests over the delicious and relaxing breakfast. Warm welcome on arrival, good advice about seeing the local area. Location was a short walk to dinner and the historic town. Would stay here again.

Due to 4th of July traffic the street noise was so bad we left one day early forfeiting $150 plus tax. I think the other rooms would have been all right but were not available due to holiday. Request the other two rooms if street noise bothers you. There are three large windows in the mahogany room and two face the street.

I organized a road trip from NY to KY for my boyfriend's birthday. I wanted a more "authentic" experience while in Kentucky, so I started looking in to B&Bs. I had never personally stayed in one, so I admit I was a little hesitant; not knowing if I was going to be comfortable. I booked the Red Rose Inn mostly because of its availability and proximity to the restaurants/bars. Upon arrival I was impressed. The Red Rose was clean and inviting. Audrey was welcoming and offered fresh baked cookies. She gave us a set of keys that allowed us the freedom to come and go as we please. This was excellent, as I was worried about there being a "curfew" of sorts, as to not disturb people if arriving back late. The room was large, inviting and clean; as was the bathroom. Audrey also has two Prince Charles Cavalier Spaniels, which were quite the welcoming hosts. I love dogs, so this was a bonus for me. We slept well and comfortably. However, the highlight was most definitely breakfast! Audrey offered a considerable homemade spread. All of which was absolutely delicious. She was an absolute pleasure and such the gracious hostess. If we were to return to Bardstown, I would definitely book the Red Rose Inn again. I would also recommend it to anyone looking for a B&B in Bardstown or in the area of the Bourbon Trail. I am now sold on the B&B experience as well. I thought it was absolutely delightful and an excellent memory to have made with my boyfriend.

I found this B&B online, having never been to Bardstown. It's perfect... only a block or two from downtown, all within walking distance. Lovely old house with lovely deck & garden... and Audrey is a delightful person. I can't forget to mention Rosie & Wrigley, her two CKC Spaniels -- they all made me feel very much at home. I would love to know how Audrey made her eggs -- I should have asked her but we got busy talking over coffee. She has menus from local restaurants and made a wonderful recommendation for dinner -- I would definitely stay here again. The stairs are old-house steep but there are downstairs rooms available. I stayed upstairs in the yellow Garden Room which was very large & cheerful.

I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Bardstown. The rooms are wonderful, exceptional gourmet breakfast, warm and friendly owner, lovely grounds. Location is great...just one block from the town center.

Outstanding breakfast and very helpful with local information.

My wife and I just spent our wedding anniversary at the Red Rose Inn and it was fantastic. The room was clean, the location is right off the square and the breakfast was just as good as the reviews I had read said it would be. I would stay there again.

We decided to stay here after reading other reviews and were not disappointed. Audrey is a delightful hostess. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable -- and the bed fabulous. The house has lovely gardens and we spent an evening on the back deck enjoying the fireflies. As one night here was not enough, we changed our plans and stayed for an additional night. And the breakfasts! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS - by far some of the best food we had in Bardstown.

Room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, pecan muffins, fried egg with havarti cheese (spectacular) and rosemary potatoes with bacon. Audrey was friendly and made the perfect restaurant suggestion for dinner.

We enjoyed staying at the Red Rose Inn. The owner was a wonderful hostess and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was out of this world served hot, very generous portions and a wide variety of delicious food. We also enjoyed meeting her two Cavalier Spaniels they were well behaved and friendly. The location was perfect, we walked around town window shopping etc.

Audrey has a lovely place. The rooms are quaint without feeling like you are staying in a museum. Her breakfast is over the top with EVERY thing made from scratch. She is interesting and fun. We would definitely consider staying with her again.

Pleasant staff and very unique and good breakfasts. Property is dated and needs sprucing up. Noisy at night when floors seem to be bouncing as guests walk on 2nd floor. Rooms were too hot in the eve. Bardstown could use more options for overnight stays...

Lovely stay at a wonderful B&B.

My husband & I did a weekend getaway touring some distilleries and dining out. The Red Rose Inn was the perfect place to stay! Our room was extremely comfortable and had all the amenities you could think of including comfy soft robes, flat screen TV, plus books and a magnifying mirror. But the best thing about the Red Rose Inn are the breakfasts. They were the best ever!

Breakfast superb! :)

We visited several Bourbon Distilleries on a Saturday and wanted a quiet, but close to downtown Bardstown stay. The Red Rose Inn fit the bill nicely. The owner gave a dinner recommendation to The Rickhouse and it was great! The breakfast was over the top, with numerous courses and dishes.

Located in downtown Bardstown it is perfectly situated for venturing out to enjoy the Bourbon Trail. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh fruit, delicious pastries, and superb entrees. I highly recommend this B&B

We were pleasantly impressed with the quaint, friendly atmosphere and the inn keepers hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, the home was very comfortable and the food was wonderful

While the stay was fine and the bed comfortable, I would not recommend this B&B. It is for sale, and the whole property needed a good dose of TLC. Everything was just tired, particularly the common areas. The bathroom in our room had a sink far too small (and there was adequate room for something larger) and a shower that looked like something out of a basement remodel. We had the Magnolia Room. It faced the street, which was a main drag through town and loud and busy at all hours. There were also bring street lights directly in front of the house and no way to draw any shades on the windows, so it was bright all night. The food, was very good, thank goodness and the inn keeper friendly. The place is for sale and with some updating could be a decent place.

Very nice B&B. Was there for a weekend getaway. Couldn't ask for a better location. Parking situation could have been better. Breakfast was fabulous.

We had a wonderful time on our two night stay at the Red Rose Inn. The room was spacious and comfortable, complete with the rustic charm of uneven flooring - which I mean in a positive way, but don't expect a shiny new house, this is a renovated 1800's property and it meets with the charm that should come with that. We stayed in the Garden room (the yellow one) and the bed was comfortable, we had plenty of space and the water pressure in the shower was just fine. The breakfasts. Oh my goodness. The first day there was pineapple upside down cake, scrumptious sausages sauteed with onions, sausage cups with scrambled eggs and zuccini and potato cakes and everything was out of this world delicious. The second day there was chocolate banana nut bread, apple german pancake and bacon, and it was all delicious as well. Fresh fruit and coffee as well both days. The food is all gourmet and fresh and if you haven't eaten it, you need to! There are two adorable King Charles Spaniels that live there - if you don't like dogs (you're crazy) and that is something to keep in mind. They are very sweet and we loved them. All in all a wonderful stay at a lovely establishment. We would definitely stay again!

We had a fantastic stay at the Red Rose and Audrey was a top notch hostess. I think if anyone had a bad time here, it was of their own making. When we arrived, our room was not quite ready, but after a couple homemade cookies and some dinner suggestions from our hostess, we headed into the heart of Bardstown, a short walk from the Inn. We returned to a lovely room made up with care. We had seen one family that was also staying there with two small children, but had not even known another couple had arrived while we were exploring. In fact, at breakfast, the three groups of us all remarked how we could have been convinced we were there alone, but the real highlight of the Red Rose Inn was what came next. The eight of us sat around a family style table setting and shared what we all agreed was one of the best breakfasts we all had enjoyed. I'm not sure Audrey had ever had experience as a chef, but one taste of this breakfast would have left you convinced of it. Homemade popovers, hand molded sausage cups with eggs and a variety of flavors, and sausage links unlike any of us had tasted before cooked with red onions, grapes and basalmic vinegar (awesome!), just to mention a few items! We also enjoyed the good fortune of sharing terrific conversation with two great couples, one with two amazing youngsters in tow. Couldn't recommend this place with any more vigor.

Negative reviews on this website made us hesitant about making a reservation at the Red Rose Inn, but whoever wrote those reviews must live in a crystal palace. Our room at the Red Rose Inn was quite elegant, completely clean, and eminently comfortable. The breakfasts speak for themselves: One morning we had fruit cups, chocolate-banana-nut bread, and a gigantic homemade apple turnover. The next morning, we had fruit cups, raspberry cheesecake, and a savory corned beef hash. Some reviewers have commented on the hostess's dogs. We aren't dog people, but even we thought little Rosey and Wrigley were exceptionally cute and well behaved. All in all, our stay at the Red Rose Inn (March 2013) will be a pleasant memory.

Red Rose Inn was so nice. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The host at the Inn bent over backwards to make sure you enjoyed your stay. The breakfast was wonderful. The host kept various snacks and drinks for you and it felt like I was home. Thanks a million! We will be staying again!

I do not usually complain but I am so sick at heart right now. We booked a two night stay for our 34th anniversary. Our plans were to enjoy the year-round hot tub advertised on the web-page, have a glass of wine beside a toasty fireplace, also advertised, enjoy some cable TV and just relax in a cozy setting. Well, the hot tub was non-functional, the fireplace was non-functional, we had to keep warm with a space heater, and the TV was an old small analog TV with a grainy picture!! The ice tasted of garlic, so we didn't even use the ice. We ended up leaving after the first night BUT still had to pay for BOTH nights!!! We did not even receive a discount OR an apology!! What was supposed to be a nice romantic weekend away, turned into a huge waste of time and 306 dollars down the drain! No wonder it's for sale, The inn-keeper was nice until we expressed our concerns. She offered no apology and her excuse was, if we had asked, she would have told us. What??!! Why would we have to ASK about clearly advertised amennities? Never again!!
I regret that the hot tub is still on my website. It is not working correctly and therefore not usable. The fireplace situation is not in my control. Ordinance prevents ANY open flame in the room. It does have an electric log simulation. I have an automatic ice maker in the kitchen refrigerator. I checked the ice and had others check it for taste. Perhaps the garlic taste was from their delivered pizza. I do have an electric heater in the requested room. I offer a room change as the other rooms have individual thermostats, however, the guests brought their dog with them and dogs, when allowed, are only in the downstairs room. When I later came into the room It was cool. I checked the heater which I had offered to turn on when they arrived early and was told he would do it. The heater was on blower, not emiting heat. I changed it and checked later. It was very warm. Upon checking out early the next day, they stated they were bored. They did not mention the hot tub, TV, fireplace or a discount/refund. I again mentioned the local attractions and activities to see and they stated they had been here several times and seen them all.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Red Rose Inn and would strongly recommend more people try B&B over motels. B&B's provide for such a relaxing stay.
4.8 on December 09, 2012
Audrey is a wonderful innkeeper. Immediately upon entering the Red Rose Inn, you are made to feel at home. From it, you are able to walk to anywhere in Bardstown to enjoy the charm of this beautiful community. The delicious and generous breakfasts Audrey prepares enable you to enjoy hours of shopping, hiking, and bourbon tasting. Before heading out, we lingered at the dining table conversing with fellow guests who also appreciate well executed baked goods and savory treats. Dogs were also a topic and canine appreciators can't resist spoiling "Reggie" and "Rose" the resident King Charles Spaniels. The Red Rose Inn-- the place to stay in Bardstown, KY.
5 on November 25, 2012
Everything about our stay was a delight. Audrey's warmth is reflected throughout this charming old home with its wonderful mix of antiques. She knows the local sites and was more than generous with her time. There were always cookies on the side board, makings for tea and coffee, and a stock of cold soda and bottled water. Our first floor Hunt Room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was pure heaven. We slept like babies and ate a breakfast fit for a king! The afternoons were warm enough to enjoy sitting on the front porch and for a walk through the fall leaves The last trickles of summer water could still be heard in the gardens ponds. The weekend in Bardstown will long be remembered, and we would not hesitate to visit again.

This is our 3rd visit to Audrey's bed and breakfast. We have always had a positive experience. Her dogs, Wrigley and Riley are a delight. The food is always good. My only complaint is her towels. I wish they were softer and smelled better. My favorite thing is the fact that she is within walking distance to so many things. We took advantage of that.

The Red Rose Inn is a beautiful old house in the centre of Bardstown. We parked on the street just outside the house and being from England did not realise it was against the law to park opposite the fire hydrant until, luckily, Audrey pointed this out to us. Audrey made us very welcome and showed us our room and where we could get soft drinks, coffee and cookies. Our room had everything we needed and everywhere was very clean. Breakfast was excellent, with far more than we could possibly eat and a good cup of coffee, something you don't often get in the USA! It is a very short walk into the centre of Bardstown from the Red Rose and we enjoyed our evening stroll. I can thoroughly recommend the Red Rose Inn if you like quaint old houses, traditional furniture and good service.

Place is up for sale so we do not feel that it was over the top---dining recommendation ( Hilltop Cafe) was terrible--food was greasy and not good. Location was great---No attention to detail as we usually expect in B and B. You better like dogs because they are very much present

The Red Rose Inn more than met our expectations. The location is fantatic, within walking distance to the stores downtown. Audrey was a wonderful hostest. She makes one feel like part of her family. The stay Red Rose Inn couldn't ask for better place to call my second home. Audrey, Wrigley , Rose and their staff made the weekend real enjoyable, very pleasant and comfortable. With homemade cookies and snacks, just sorry we was in hurry the next morning to be able to stay for a great breakfast, but if was like every thing else, we know it would have been more than perfect. The location was great close to town and the STEPHEN FOSTER AMPITHEATER PARK. Which also enjoyed the Suessical which thats another diffrent review. But couldn't ask for anything more than a place they was just like home. Thank you again Audrey and Godspeed.

Enjoyed my stay at the Red Rose Inn. Our host was a very sweet lady. While the room was comfortable and the decor was lovely, there were a few details that could have been improved on. It would have been nice to have a small selection of bottled water or juice and a few little snacks in our room. Also a little more information and guidance about the town and events that might be of interest to us. The grounds were well kept and breakfast was very good. Overall a very nice stay!

Prior to arriving, we had been told Audrey's breakfast would surpass whatever we expected, that her breakfast was "sumptuous." We were not disappointed. Over 3 mornings, the only repeat was the fresh fruit cup. I'm diabetic and Audrey made sure there were plenty of low-sugar, low-carb offerings. My husband is an early riser and she had the coffee ready for him every morning. Another plus is the availability of a first floor suite. And the location is ideal, only 2 blocks from the center of town, walking distance to the Welcome Center and some of the downtown restaurants.

The room was most comfortable and the location was perfect as we were able to walk to dinner and enjoy Bardstown. I only wish we had more time to stay another night. Breakfast was very rich with lots of cheese, bread, cheees, butter, etc. I gained four pounds in three days!! Yes, Audrey knows how to cook! Our family had all 4 rooms so we had the house to ourselves. Audrey was delightful, providing helpful information, recipes, and very comfortable beds. The 5 star breakfasts were not only bountiful but delicious. We will definitely return. Her location is great, only 1-2 blocks from downtown shopping, restaurants, and tourist destinations.

My husband and I had never been to Bardstown. We loved staying at the Red Rose Inn. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so relaxing . It is within walking distance of the square. The breakfast was wonderful. We loved talking to the host. She has 2 adorable dogs that are so well minded. Thanks for opening your home to us. You will love this place. God bless you always.

A cozy welcoming place to stay. Featured outstanding unique breakfasts and a delightful hostess. She was knowlegeable about the area and went out of her way to make our stay pleasant by recommending restaurants, places to visit and things to do.
