The Victorian Veranda Country Inn is located on the 57 acre Free State Farm just one mile north of Lawrence, Kansas. The Inn sets in the Kansas River valley, a very rich agriculture area. The Victorian Veranda was built in 1998 under the close watch of Beverly Ray and Rob Phillips, the Innkeepers. The Victorian Style house has ten guest rooms, library with reading porch, parlor, lobby, two dining rooms, and a large wrap around veranda. The Inn being located in this rural setting allows the guest to escape to a time long past. You are away from the busy pace of the city. As you sit on the veranda or in the Inn you may see a team of horses arriving from the field or just doing different farm duties. The Inn is located for enough from the city of Lawrence to be in the country, but close enough for all of the city conveniences.

I stayed here the night before a 42 mile race which had an earlier start than the usual breakfast hours, but the owner was very accommodating and got up early to fix me an early breakfast and even asked what would be best for a run and made it for me. Everything was spotless, check in and out was quick and easy. I would certainly stay here again if I'm ever back in the Lawrence area.

Hosts were very friendly and facility was quite clean and nice. Stayed for a quiet early Valentine's Day, but would also consider as an event space for sons upcoming wedding. Well worth looking into. Would love to see in the spring/summer when the flowers are blooming.

My wife and I recently spent two memorable days with Inkerpers Robert and Beverly Phillips. As avid gardeners, we appreciated and enjoyed the beautiful and diverse gardens. It's now fall but we can't wait to return next spring to experience the many colors, textures and aromas of this unique garden setting.

My family and I visited the Inn this last month. With 10 guest rooms there was plenty of room for everyone. We had a fabulous experience! Rob and Bev are so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great, rooms were very clean and the Inn is situated in a beautiful country setting. Just amazing, so relaxing that my husband and I are looking forward to returning as soon as we can.
Thank you for the review. and the kind words. It is our goal to always provided out guest with the best service in the absolute friendlies manner.

Beautiful place. the wedding venue was fabulous. The entire wedding party stayed at the B&B made hanging out and getting dressed so easy. No stress No worries. Very clean. Breakfast was to die for. No continental breakfast here. It was full on Buffett, Eggs Benedict, scrambled, sausage, bacon on a stick, waffles, fruit, juices, cereal for kids, coffee. Very good. Wedding area was beautiful. It was nice for the ones who traveled to do the dinner and wedding in both locations. so convenient. Great location for pictures pre and post wedding. The prices are great for whole package or to just stay.
