This was our first stay at the Kenwood but it won't be our last. Pat and her staff were very welcoming and made us feel as if we were long lost friends staying in their home. We had a large room with our own private porch. There was a small kitchen area for guests with coffee, tea, lemonade, and cookies all day long. Wine was available in the afternoons. Breakfast was delicious and consisted of several courses, served to you in a beautiful courtyard. Our every need was met and we wished we could've stayed longer.
Hubby and I are each in our second marriage but have made 25 years; this was cause for a different and unique celebration. Hubby isn't the most social animal in the world, so I selected the bungalow for our retreat. We still journeyed to the B and B for breakfast and to catch the horse drawn carriage ride (got the white carriage used for weddings!) and dessert hour. For us senior citizens, it was a perfect weekend!
When we arrived at Kenwood Inn we were so pleasantly welcomed by Pat the owner. She welcomed us with such hospitality and hugs. She was very in tuned to our needs and anything that she could do for us. She treated everyone like they were family. It was so refreshing. We scheduled a package for chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and a carriage ride . She took care of all of the details all the way to changing our choice of drink. She went herself and picked it up herself. When we got back from the carriage ride our strawberries were in the refrigerator and they were homemade. So delicious and my favorite, dark chocolate. Every morning we had a gourmet breakfast that was made by Pat and her employees. I have to tell you, I have never had that kind of food at a bed and breakfast before. It was so delicious and different from what I have had before. I would highly recommend The Kenwood Inn to anyone. If you want a nice Bed and Breakfast with great people who treat you like family. Go to Kenwood.
My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here and had the most amazing time. The Inn is wonderfully appointed with amazing history surrounding it. Morning breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The evening social hour and dessert hour made us want to rush back every evening so as not to miss Anything. The customer service here is top notch. It's conveniently located to everything. We parked our car on Thursday evening and didn't get back in it until Monday morning. So much history in the town, you'll need weeks to explore everything. We plan to return to this Inn many times. Bring good, comfortable walking shoes.
I don’t know where to begin, The Kenwood is an excellent Inn, Pat and the staffs are amazing! The Inn is beautiful and all the rooms are awesome. I recommend with a balcony, it’s always nice sitting outside in the evening!
My husband and I visited the St. Francis Inn B&B on 9/23/16 to celebrate our anniversary. We had such an amazing time, we are already trying to figure out when we can go back (and wish we'd stayed longer)! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We loved the set up of the room and the overall site and felt everything was very comfortable. There was a great happy hour the afternoon we arrived and it was so nice to have a drink or two and some delicious snacks before going to dinner later that night. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. I'm pretty sure we went back for seconds. Then, when we checked out on Saturday, we were even still able to use the bicycles for the afternoon (which was great considering the heat)! Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and can't wait to go back. :)
My husband and I stayed at St Francis Inn Bed and Breakfast for our Anniversary get a way. The Inn was very quaint, our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast and snacks were delicious, but what most impressed us was how friendly the staff was, that alone would be reason to return to this Inn.
Overall Casa De Suenos more than exceeded my expectations! It was my first experience staying in a B&B and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I had fears that it would be similar to staying with my grandma as a child. You know, weird odors, dusty old furniture, sharing the bathroom with my crazy aunt! But happily none of these things occurred. The accommodations were very comfortable, the food very good. Being a perfectionist, I would need to add that there were a few things that did bother me a little. The room was advertised as having a Juliet Balcony yet upon my inspection I noticed that the door and windows were nailed shut. Also the glass was frosted which for a person with a touch of claustrophobia caused me a little discomfort. I imagined that I could possibly perish if a fire were to occur! Another thing that was a little uncomfortable for me was that the "Innkeepers" did not stay in the house in the evening. They left at 9PM and guests were given a phone number to call in an emergency. I was staying there alone so it felt odd that I was in a house full of strangers. I would probably not stay in an Inn that did this in the future. My only other minor complaint is that there was no fresh fruit for breakfast on my second day. Being a weight watcher, I tasted the delicious quiche and oatmeal but I would have liked to fill up on some fruit. The Innkeepers were lovely and very helpful in giving directions etc...
Great location; convenient to historic area; availability of beach supplies and access a real plus; Staff extremely helpful and friendly; Have stayed in B&B's for more than 20 years and my wife and I agree that Casa de Suenos provided the best overall experience; Stayed September 18-24, 2016; Dan and Bobbie, Virginia
For my birthday getaway, my husband wanted to make it a little more special and booked a stay at a bed and breakfast and what a special treat we were greeted but very warm and friendly staff. We stayed in the courtyard room with a nice view of their beautiful garden , we enjoyed our morning coffee on one of the swings outside our door. Breakfast we enjoyed at a table in the garden. After spending a day walking the attractions we came back to enjoy the social hour and change for dinner out, to come back to have dessert and coffee on our favorite swing. Staff and guests were very pet friendly. One block from a trolley stop or a short walk to the many attractions and dinning areas
Our group from our church had a wonderful time at The Kenwood Inn. Everyone was so pleasant, the food was just excellent and we were so comfortable during our stay! Pat and her team do an amazing job. We felt like we were "home" in our own living room just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere! Thanks for a wonderful stay. God bless you all!
A charming place in the historic district. Our room was comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Social hour offered in the late afternoon. Barbara was great, very helpful and did everything possible to make your stay wonderful.
Going to this B&B are like visiting your FAVORITE family members, your best friends, etc. You feel so very comfortable.....like being at home....but better. Breakfasts are outstanding !!!! Enjoy your future visits !!!
For a weekend getaway, we chose to stay at this B&B. This was our first B&B experience. The staff made us feel welcome; it was like coming home to family. As for the breakfast, the word "amazing" does not do it justice. Each meal we had was well planned and full of flavor. This B&B is centrally located and within walking distance to all the main attractions in St. Augustine and minutes from the beach access points. The B&B also provides parking to all guest, which is rare in the City. Highly recommended.
Everything and more you could expect , you feel the relaxation the minute you arrive on the property . Thinking of staying at a Bed and Breakfast, this should be your first choice . You will return!
The St. Francis is a wonderful way to treat yourself while staying in St. Augustine. The amenities are so nice, you might be tempted to skip a visit to the historic district, which is within walking distance. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms and will admit the bathroom was one the small side and there aren't a lot of outlets to charge phones and Kindles on. But this really isn't unexpected in an historic building. The bed was comfortable, the room itself a pleasant size and everything was clean. But what sold me was the staff and the amenities. Oh, and breakfast, cookies, social hour snacks and dessert hour. Everytime I wandered back from town, there was food. I can't wait to go back.
First time at a B&B for me and loved it! We could not have asked for a better location, close to the Bay and all the restaurants, etc. Our room was beautiful, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the bathroom, although manageable, was a bit snug. The Inn has many room options however, I happened to choose the most popular room. Everything else however, outweighed the small bathroom. Pat and her staff were WONDERFUL!!!, we felt so welcomed and they were on top of every need. The breakfast was amazing, so refreshing. My husband and I are already planning our next get-a-way there if we can work out the timeframe. I see now why this little gem of a B&B stays booked all year. Highly recommend The Kenwood Inn.
This is one of the best B & B's around. Excellent location, outstanding staff, and beautiful rooms. This is always where we stay when visiting Saint Augusrine. As you walk through the iron gate you feel the tranquility. Many lovely spots to sit and read, enjoy a cocktail, or hang out with friends. Complimentary nightly light food and drinks and excellent breakfast.
