Below is an excerpt of a glowing review for each of the winning inns.
"To be honest, we stayed here because there was a great mid-week off season deal. However, after staying there, we feel we got more than we paid for and it would be worth it to stay there regardless. The breakfast and the evening chocolate desserts did not disappoint. We missed the wine tasting, but based on everything else, we'd expect it was great as well. We stayed in a Aqua room in the main house and it was huge and quiet and perfect. The spa bath is deceiving as even though it takes a while for it to fill, the water stayed hot and the spa attachment (although loud) turned it into a perfect relaxing bath. The owners and staff were friendly and available and when we had a request, they did what they could to accommodate. It was perfect walking distance to everything downtown and it was great to not have to drive. 10-15 minute walk to everything. We do not travel much, so when we do, we are picky. And we can't wait to come back here!"
"My wife and I made the Chehalem Ridge B&B the last stop on our Oregon Wine Country trip in mid-September and I wish we had been able to stay longer. It's a beautiful place with a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were well appointed, the bathrooms were impeccable and I have to say the sheets were just downright otherworldly; best I've ever slept on. Kristin, the Innkeeper keeps the place immaculate and maintains a very zen atmosphere. In fact, when we walked in the door, I was greeted by the rich aroma coming from the kitchen (something she was preparing for breakfast the next morning, which I will get to in a minute) and softly playing spa music. And then there was breakfast. WOW! A stunningly presented two course taste-fest on a fork! It started with fresh squeezed OJ and a homemade roasted hazelnut granola, fruit (local plums) and yogurt parfait with fresh baked scones (Oh baby!) and capped off with a baked dish of eggs on a bed of zucchini and cheese. That was a new one on me, but it was superb! Bottom line is, we WILL be back."
"My husband and I went to Hot Springs for a getaway - we found Hilltop online and read the great reviews. They are accurate and this place is amazing! The house is just gorgeous and the innkeepers are so friendly and welcoming. We needed a special accommodation and they assisted us with that. Our room was clean and comfortable - and the breakfasts were "Knock your socks off" delicious! We enjoyed the wine and treats in the afternoons after a day out seeing the sights in Hot Springs and Joanna and Jennifer both gave us great tips on where to eat and how to work things so we didn't miss some of the better places that aren't open on certain days. We felt so spoiled, it was hard to leave. Next time we will stay longer!"
"I took my wife away for our anniversary and was very fortunate to find this beautiful place. Absolutely outstanding in every way. Sue and Dave are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and you'll feel that from every member of their staff as well. Great rooms, each with different character (we stayed in 3 different ones) and the views are amazing. A great breakfast awaits you every morning in the dining room, and you can take it out to sit at tables overlooking the marina. Close by to so many great restaurants, wineries, private beaches, etc. You'll never run out of things to do. And Sue and Dave will surely have a great recommendation for a place to go if you need one. We didn't want to leave, and even extended our stay an extra night. Can't wait to go back! Thanks for a great time!!"
"First time in a B&B with a wonderful experience. We chose this B&B based on the many positive reviews, but the main selling point for us was the barn with lots of horses. Frank and Carolyn the innkeepers made us feel welcome and attended to all of our needs. Breakfasts were delicious and always a surprise! Our room was very clean, including the bathroom. The beds were covered with white clean and crisp linens and every time we entered our room we noticed how fresh it smelled. The dining room table was always covered with all kinds of complimentary baked goods. The guest fridge which is in the basement is stocked with complimentary bottled water and soda, plus additional snacks. Having snacks always available made it very easy with my son. Although we don't drink, I should mention there is also complimentary wine and beer.
The barn is always open for guests at the inn. Everyone who works at the barn is super nice and so friendly. The owners come by everyday to tend to their horses and they are more than willing to stop what they are doing and chat with the guests from the Inn. We learned so much from them. Super nice people!! My son had a great time and probably spent more time in the barn than in our room. We will definitely be back! He enjoyed this place so much that he passed on Hershey park and most of the activities in order to get back to the Inn and his friends in the barn."
"Inn on Randolph is everything a romantic B&B should be. Beautiful comfortable rooms, perfect grounds, amazing breakfast, and the ultimate innkeeper, Karen. Karen and her staff paid attention to our every need- from checking each day to ensure we had everything we needed for a wonderful day in the Valley to noticing and accommodating the smallest needs to enhance our stay. We expressed one morning that we preferred scrambled eggs vs other egg preparations for breakfast and every day after our entree was prepared with scrambled eggs. We didn't ask for something different- the staff paid attention to what we ate and asked a simple question then accommodated the answer flawlessly.
Our (Randolph Cottage) was so perfect. It looks exactly as shown in the pictures- except the pictures can't really show how delightfully comfortable the bed was or how perfect the water pressure and temperature in the shower were. Karen checked on every guest at breakfast every morning and helped with recommendations or whatever people needed to finalize their plans for the day. She made some great suggestions that helped re-shape some of the small details of our days to perfection. She also saved us a lot of personal effort by helping us organize shipping of our wine directly from the inn. The location was great, too. We were in easy walking distance of downtown Napa and the restaurants there. It was also easy for us to get to and from the wineries. I really can't say enough great things about the Inn, Karen and the entire staff. Everything was simply... perfect!"
"What a fabulous few days we had! The room was so lovely, with 2 fireplaces, 3 tvs, a bathroom to die for -- jacuzzi, heated floor and an amazing shower. Our breakfasts were gourmet -- blueberry pancakes, omelettes, Jamaican porridge and even Bananas Foster one morning. There is always tea or coffee available in the common area, and cookies made fresh every day. The people who work there are so friendly, helpful and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Our dog loved it there too! We are regulars for a good reason!!"
"This was our first B&B and I was a little nervous, especially driving all the way from Pennsylvania. The second we arrived I knew the right decision was made. Innkeepers and staff who are friendly and feel like family. Rooms spotlessly clean and decorated perfectly. We now know why so many review sites rate Rabbit Hill Inn to be the most romantic getaway in New England. We realized how many return visitors they get over years; we hope to be one of those couples. Planning a trip for summer already. Do not miss this place. Romance is everywhere."
"My fiancee and I stayed in the Katherine Mirror Image Suite. This was by far the nicest room either of us have ever had the pleasure of staying in during a vacation. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the unique rib cage shower was an amazing experience all on its own. John and Nicole were both gracious and extremely nice hosts. Nicole had gone to a nearby orchard and picked fresh peaches to make a mouthwatering peaches n' cream stuffed french toast one morning. We have only been away for a few days and are already looking for an excuse to find our way back for another stay at this wonderful B&B."
"A beautiful home in the Lincoln Park area with easy access to restaurants and great shopping. The moment you arrive the hostess Cathy makes you feel at home. She was the highlight of our stay by always being available and attentive to our needs and wants. The common area with an elegant decor is a great place to relax. The stocked gourmet kitchen is a real bonus for snacking at any time. The breakfasts that Cathy prepares are amazing! The courtyard sets up a wonderful Tuscan ambiance. This place is by far one of the best establishments to live in while visiting Chicago. Don’t miss out and book early, it is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed."
