How can I protect my property from potential damages?

While extensive property damange is extremely rare, damage does occassionally occur. Protect yourself from incidental damages by following these best practices.

  1. At check-in, make sure to you collect a valid credit card that matches the name on the reservation. Even if the guest has already paid in full prior to check-in we ALWAYS advise that you also collect a credit card at check-in for any incidentals.
  2. Ask for photo identification and make sure that the ID matches the credit card provided.
  3. We do not recommend that you accept Visa gift cards, American Express gift cards or any other credit card gift cards at this time.

BedandBreakfast.com is not responsible for property damage.

How do I securely accept payments from travelers that don’t book online?

There are a few things you can do to still protect your B&B if a traveler doesn't pay directly online.

  1. Make sure that you collect a credit card at time of reservation. This way, if there is an issue with a guest not showing up or cancelling outside of your cancellation policy, you can still get paid for that reservation.
  2. When the guest arrives at the B&B for check-in, ask for photo identification and make sure that the ID matches the credit card provided.
  3. We do not recommend that you accept Visa gift cards, American Express gift cards or any other credit card gift card

What if a traveler wants to cancel a reservation that they booked through an Online Travel Agent (OTA like Expedia, Hotels.com or Priceline.com)?

The traveler must cancel the reservation through whatever website they booked the reservation. For instance, if the traveler booked the reservation on Expedia, they'll need to go through Expedia to cancel that reservation. If the cancellation is outside your cancellation policy, you can still collect payment on that reservation.
