This lovely Victorian 25 room mansion was built for entertaining. The lower level contains a dining room with original Waterford crystal sconces and a butler's pantry with complimentary refreshments. Also available is a large and cozy library with one of seven fireplaces, and a baby grand piano. Guests may choose from one of eight beautifully decorated guest rooms, some with fireplaces, private balcony, claw foot tubs, marble sinks or Jacuzzi. Lovely landscaped one acre estate with lawn swings, gardens, gazebo and fountains. The Bavarian style Carriage House is an architectural gem, totally unique to the area and has been newly renovated into a two bedroom, two bath suite. We have gift certificates available in any amount, or for one of our packages. The most popular package is "3 Mansions in 1 Trip" which includes dinner at the Studebaker Mansion (Tippecanoe Place) right next door.

I was passing through town on an extended road trip, and this Inn was the perfect oasis. The whole place is lovingly tended, clean, and comfortable. The hosts are gracious and warm. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. I especially appreciated indulging in the relaxing whirlpool tub with bathsalts, plush towels and bathrobe.

My wife and I stayed for a quick night and didn't get the chance to experience all of the amenities (i.e. breakfast), but the Erlandsons did a great job of making everything available to us without being intrusive. Homemade cookies, access to some tea at night, a porch to enjoy in the morning, and a personal welcome made the evening much more enjoyable than the usual hotel stay. Lastly, the room (Knute Rockne) was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were soft. We will likely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Oliver Inn. Comfy beds, complimentary drinks and yummy snacks including fresh baked cookies. Walk to downtown and the Four Winds Stadium. Highly recommend taking the Oliver Mansion tour before checking into the B&B, you will learn history about the B&B on this tour. The Oliver Inn is a fascinating piece of South Bend history and staying there is an opportunity to stay in the home of a long ago prominent South Bend Family. Wonderful candlelight breakfast in the formal dining room. Can't think about how our stay could have been better. Highly recommend the Oliver Inn.

The owners were super welcoming to us and let us know great places to go. The breakfasts are incredible. We had let them know when booking our stay, that one of us cannot eat gluten, thinking that would just save them time and food to not serve one of us the bread, pastries, etc. To them that did not mean what they cannot serve, it was what CAN they make in it’s place. Alice went above and beyond making sure everyone was included in the delicious breakfast, making special gluten friendly options in addition to the regular options. The rooms are exquisite. All you would expect when you pull up and see the gorgeous Inn. They really pay attention to detail. And we can’t leave this review without mentioning their bed linens! You feel like you are sleeping in some of the softest sheets you have ever felt. We had our own balcony off of our room. For two people who work in the Corporate world, just sitting out there looking over the beautiful grounds of the Inn was a great way to unplug and relax. We highly recommend The Oliver Inn!

First time in South Bend and stay at Oliver Inn exceeded our expectations in every regard. Friendly, service-oriented environment. Owners were fantastic hosts and their attention to detail was impressive. Historically preserved but modernized home. Location is walking distance from downtown, beautiful Studebaker Mansion, baseball stadium and river. On top of all that, when Alice heard that my birthday coincided with our stay, she went the extra mile to bake a cake! Who does that?
Dear Seth, Thank you for your kind review. We enjoyed getting to know you and your wife and we hope you will get to return again in the future! Tom and Alice

We stayed in the carriage house with another couple this past weekend and enjoyed our stay very much. The kitchen was well appointed with ice in the freezer, cold soda in the fridge, and snacks on the counter along with coffee and chilled cream. We went to the main house each morning for the delicious breakfast - outstanding food and presentation. The main house is beautiful and we look forward to coming back in the summer when the grounds are in bloom. If you stay in the carriage house be mindful of the fact that there are somewhat steep stairs to climb as the rooms are on the second floor.
I am so glad you and your friends got to stay with us! I know we had a late spring, but we are looking forward to having you again in the summer when you can relax in the yard! Alice
