Welcomed into a quiet and lovely neighborhood with a well-appointed B & B hosted by a charming couple, my husband and I truly enjoyed our time at The White House on Park Avenue.

Very accommodating to our later arrival, well furnished room and plenty of historical reading about the house and local college that is closing. ¿¿

Fred and Sally were great Hosts, enjoyed the sitting rooms on first floor and many antiques throughout. Had coffee and pumpkin bread ready for us at 5:00 AM to view Sandhill cranes and came back to a tasty breakfast.

I was traveling from Chicago to Florida and was very late in leaving the city, contrary to my plan, but Sally was able to accommodate my arrival past midnight. Breakfast that morning was plentiful and on time. Lack of plain milk kept me from enjoying my coffee and the meal was rather heavier than I was used to. Choices would be appreciated.

We've been coming to the White House for 7 years now, and fortunately still have several visits ahead of us between now and May 2017 when our youngest graduates from Saint Joseph's College. We have stayed in every room and love them all. Sally and Fred are wonderful hosts and have become great friends. Sally's breakfasts are to die for, and having home baked cookies in the room on each arrival is a delight. All rooms and the entire house is spotless and decorated with love and attention to detail. If it weren't for that little thing called tuition, we would consider adopting another child and sending him to Saint Joseph's so we could continue our visits. We not only highly recommend you stay here, we wouldn't consider saying anywhere else when we are in Rensselaer. Angie and Curtis Davies

I spent two very restful nights in The Bird's Nest room. It was a very comfortable bed, and my hosts did a great job of "de-feathering" it, as I let them know ahead of time of my allergy to down & feathers. The hallway bathroom for this room is at the other end of the hall, but multiple hallway night lights and a fluffy robe were provided. Sally also cooked and fed us terrific breakfasts both mornings. She accommodated my food allergies (again, I let her know in advance), along with a gluten intolerance of another guest. Both Sally & Fred were delightful people, and wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of this historic home. The owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. This B&B is a good value, probably because of it's location, but it was the perfect place for us to stop on our way to Michigan.

What a terrific place to stay when visiting the Rensselaer area; this B&B is in a great location of town with a quite neighborhood. Fred & Sally are quite the hosts and really make you feel right at home. Super opportunity to take a step and feel back in time during a stay in this historic home.
