My husband i stayed in the Ivy Suite for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic. Loved the quietness and relaxation; just what we needed. We both work so hard we hardly see each other, and i hate to say but it was a added bonus that we really didn't have any cell service but that allowed us uninterrupted time to just relax and enjoy each other. And its close enough to the town to enjoy the shoppes but also still be secluded. We will definatly be returning.

Our room was the Peony room. It had a very nice atmosphere and we loved how quiet cozy and private it was.

We did not dine at The Abbey so I cannot give that an accurate rating. Everything else was great. Our bed was not as comfortable as I expected, but it was satisfactory. We will be back!

SO-why does it have onsite dining there was no onsite dining. it did have coffee/tea in room but that isn't dining. those are amenities. We stayed there on short notice. it was nice. Courtyard was an added feature. nice flowers. Our room was big and the bed was comfy and accommodations were great. very clean. hot tub was awesome.

Very clean, quiet & the privacy you receive is exceptional! The rooms decor is up to date & increases your relaxation level. If you love peace & quiet blended with nature you should visit. Plus you can't beat the location. Just minutes to downtown Nashville! Mr. & Mrs. Kean

The Abbey was wonderful. The room was beautiful and very clean. I plan on returning.

We stayed at the cabin with another couple. Was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Beds and living room furniture were comfortable. Huge walk in shower- took a little tweaking to get the right temperature in the shower. Kitchen was clean and had pots/pans/dishes and utensils for cooking or grilling. We had text confirmations when the room was ready and when we left. Town is pretty close for dining, shopping, wineries and distilleries. All 4 of us absolutely loved this place. I would and have recommended this place to anyone who will listen! We will definitely be going back.

My husband and I stayed here in late March and had a truly wonderful time. The room was immaculately clean and cozy. We especially loved our hot tub, but the kitchenette was charming and the rest of the place delightful. We would go here again if we go back to Little Nashville.

If you want a romantic getaway this place is amazing! The rooms are huge, the hot tub is such a great thing to have right in your own room! Plus on the outside there is a pond that is absolutely beautiful to walk around! They have a place with seating for a wedding area and also a chapel on site! It just took new ownership when we stayed and we talked to the owners, and they plan on making lots of major improvements (not that it needs it). This is definitely a great place to stay I would recommend any couple stay!

We stayed here as a weekend getaway! It was so romantic, hot tub right in the room with you. It has a beautiful view of a lake and a wonderful gazebo! I would definitely advise anyone with any romantic spirit to check this place out!

The stay at the Abbey was nice and peaceful. The room was very clean, but the bed and pillows were not overly comfortable.
3.8 on February 16, 2017
The rooms were very nice and well kept. I think the Abby Inn did great! However, the breakfast that is included if you purchase the buffet breakfast could be better, was not the best. I would recommend eating breakfast elsewhere. Also, I was not all that impressed with the massage therapists. They say they use the top of the line products but when looking at them afterwards they most definitely were not and it made your body feel all oily and gross. One of the massage therapist smelt heavily of smoke, not an enjoyable smell. Like previously stated I think the Abbey Inn did a wonderful job with keeping rooms very nice and clean I just would not recommend adding on the breakfast or the massage.

We were there for our 15 year Anniversary we had a wonderful time.
3.4 on January 25, 2017
An overnight stay to get away from the every day thing. The room was neat and clean. It was sorta hidden towards the back so the map was handy. Simple no check in, just arrive, stay, and then send a text and leave the door key when you leave. A few negatives but none are horrific. Some lights didnt work, ( 1 over shower and 1 over hot tub ). The TV is small, not view-able from the hot tub and basic cable was boring. I am a repeat customer and will likely stay again but i will request a previous room. All in all, very satisfied with our stay and the privacy. The correspondence with staff was minimal yet superb.

We visit the Abbey Inn once a year every year, either in June for our anniversary or in November for my husband's birthday. We always take advantage of the weekly special and enjoy the breakfast offer for the Artist Colony. We choose a different room each time we stay and they have always been clean and well decorated. The Abbey Inn is a fun, relaxing getaway with so much to offer both on the property and in the surrounding area of Brown County. We look forward to it every year.

We were married at the Abbey Inn several years ago and we went for a one night stay. While the staff was super accommodating for allowing us to stay one night in their busy season, the tiles around the hot tub were loose and there were some spider webs in the bathroom. It was nice that they added the dehumidifier to the rooms, however they got wet from the water in the hot tub. The people above us we're also very noisy so maybe some added insulation between the rooms would be good.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. This was our first time in Brown County and we really enjoyed our time. The Abbey Inn was a nice hotel and it met all our needs. We enjoyed the quiet and seclusion. There were not many other couples there, but we enjoyed that. The hotel is not always staffed and I would recommend to have more towels and/or sheets in the room. If these items were in a place we could get to, we weren't aware. There was no onsite dining, but we did have an option to buy breakfast buffet tickets from a local restaurant. It was good food and the price we paid through the hotel was cheaper than what you would pay if you just walked in the door. We hope to visit the Abbey Inn in the future for our anniversary.

We have stayed at Abbey Inn many times before and always LOVED it! We always try to stay in different room, and this time there were just a couple things we didn't like about the Honeysuckle room. One was just a preference- it was somewhat hard to see the TV from the bed & impossible to see from hot tub. This could be fixed by putting the TV on a swivel mount. Also, the hottub & cover smelled strongly of mildew, which made it difficult to enjoy. Otherwise, still LOVE Abbey Inn & it's our goto place for a romantic getaway!!

Abbey Inn was the perfect, close getaway we needed. We loved the privacy and gorgeous scenery. We hope we are fortunate enough to come back one day!
5 on July 16, 2016
This was our fourth stay at the Abbey Inn. We love it and have stayed in three different rooms. The fact that children aren't allowed keeps things nice and quiet. Usually once we've checked in, we never see another person the entire rest of our stay. Which is just how we like it. Of course we love the hot tubs, they're very relaxing and have always worked perfectly for us. The town of Nashville is a lot of fun, but it's also quiet. The antique shops, winery, and flea market also keep us busy. The Hob Nob corner restaurant is our favorite, but the Big Woods brewery is nice for lunch. Basically you can't go wrong staying at the Abbey Inn for a few nights and enjoying the shoppy shops. We're already planning our next trip back.

We had a nice peaceful stay. Great for a low key weekend. No on-site dining or snacks but we brought our own.
4.6 on July 11, 2016
We have stayed three times now and plan to return again. If a romantic reprieve is what you are after this is the place. NO crowds just calm quiet -- private, a couples dream! We went to grocery for a few easy meals providing more in the room time, going out for a nice meal only when we needed. A walk hand in hand through charming Brown County shops takes your mind off other things preparing you for a very enjoyable retreat. Cannot say just how much we enjoy our Abby Inn trips!! Highly recommend to couples needing to reboot their relationship on any level.

We stayed 3 nights as a romantic getaway. Easy to find, & great location. Ample parking. Room was dated but clean & comfortable. Not staffed 24 hours/day, but that was no problem for us. We added on breakfast at the Artist Colony, & that was worth the price.
2.8 on April 25, 2016
Perfect little spot for a weekend away from the norm. Suggest going in the fall for beautiful natural scenery right off of the semi-private patio of some rooms. The Abbey Inn is an older structure, so expect some minor flaws in electrical, such as random non-working lights, and loose outlets. A little pricey, but a nice break anyway.

If you prefer a quiet country setting this is the place for you. I was kind of leary about checking in on an unstaffed day. When we arrived our key and map was in the office waiting on us. Everything went smoothly. We had a hard day of shopping in Nashville then drove 60 seconds back to our room for a soak in the personal hot tub in our room. Then drank a bottle of wine outside by the fire pit. Also took a romantic stroll around the lit up gazebo and walkway around the pond. We chose the Periwinkle room because of the private balcony. Very pleased with our stay! We will definitely be back.

The bathroom was dirty there was hair on the wall the window seal was gag worthy. The power went out twice for about 15 mins each. We stayed in this room for the hot tub and with no power no heat..was very disappointed and was never offered compensation for the inconvenience. Room could have been great if it was clean and the power stayed on..someone from the desk knocked on the door mutiple times thru the evening for updates about power with was nice to let us know but was an inturption to our evening we didn't ask for! Will never suggest this place
Staff knocked on your door several times to offer to move you to another room not experiencing the REMC brown out problems and you screamed at staff not to bother you. Never did you mention to staff during your stay that you had any problems with your room. In making a reservation with us you agreed to our policies which clearly state: If you encounter any problem with your tub or room, please notify housekeeping IMMEDIETELY. Abbey Inn was fully prepared to address any issues during your stay but it required you to be a responsible guest and report those issues to staff during your stay. Please review our policies. You agreed to them in the reservation process.

The room was very nice. I especially enjoyed the hot tub. My only complaint would be that the wifi was not working during my girlfriend and I's stay, but that was not a big issue as we did not have much need to get on it.

For a 200+ a night room I was deeply disappointed. The hot tub had 2 jets and ran on 110volts. The shower had trickle water pressure. The remote has no battery cover and there was an odd smell in the hallway. I had to go out on the porch to get enough Wi-Fi to text call my kids. The room was clean and the hvac worked great.

Very beautiful place to stay. Being a short person I needed a step to get into hot tub (safety concern) also stayed in the month of February and it was too cold in the room. Next time I know to take a heater with me. I would say overall it was a great getaway despite the few issues I experienced.

This place is very private, quiet and peaceful. Close enough to Nashville and Bloomington to run out for a meal, but far away from the hustle & bustle. Next door to Brown County State Park. Right on the highway so you can't get lost. Staff rarely there so during the week the place is very private. Just soak in your tub and relax. Breakfast downtown is great too.

Location was terrific. The room was comfortable and quiet. I recommend tips for the hot tub...as in 105 degrees is a bit too hot, but 100 degrees is very agreeable. And I would check to see that sufficient cleaning supplies are available. We did not realize until just prior to check out time that we could not clean our dishes.

We got married there in 2009, our room was the Dogwood room. The room was very nice the hot tub worked great so we went back the next few years for our anniversary, we skipped a few years but came this year for our six anniversary and we had the tulip room. The The Jets in the hot tub in this room are very weak, our hot tub in the Dogwood room was much bigger and the Jets were more powerful. During our stay there was a huge storm and the electricity went out, the whole place was totally dark Ness for over an hour and a half, we called the number on our email and the guy said we just needed to leave the room and go shopping. Good thing we had a flashlight or we would've never made it downstairs there is no emergency lighting in the hotel . I was surprised staff or the owner did not even come to the hotel to check on people knowing the electricity was out , It was kind of scary knowing we were there in total darkness and anyone could come in at any time to take advantage of the situation . If I owned a hotel and had a bad storm and the electricity went out I would go check on my guess to see if they needed anything or if they were safe, nobody checked on us at all . All in all we felt like the place had regressed since we had been there a few years ago, we probably will not return.

My husband and I randomly picked this place because of the hot tub!! We picked Ivy Solarium room, it was very nice and I was glad the hot tub was in a separated room rather than in the room with our bed. We had a great relaxing two nights and the staff was nice to help us with the television issue. However, when we firstly came in, the staff did not smile, I thought she was somewhat snobby--but then later she was being helpful. I wished she could smile and appear more friendly than what it happened. Also, as for 'bed and breakfast'....it is NOT a bed and breakfast. We had to drive around 1.5 mile to a dining place for breakfast between 7:30 to 10:30 AM for the buffet. I wish it could be at Abbey Inn instead, so that way we can take our time. I also would like the breakfast to being served to our room, but they are not about that, though. Generally, we enjoyed our time there!

We stayed here for a long weekend getaway. Our suite was so nice and had a wonderful view of the lake and gazebo, which were lit up at night. Our room was private, well appointed, clean, and everything we needed was provided, including a relaxing hot tub. Our host was kind enough to allow us early check in since I had emailed ahead and requested it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Abbey Inn is convenient to Brown County State Park (about 1 mile away), Yellowood State Forest (about 8 miles away), and about 1/2 mile from Nashville's quaint shopping and restaurants. Everything was wonderful! We will definitely return to Abbey Inn!
1.2 on January 03, 2016
Abbey Inn is not a bed and breakfast. It is a cheap motor motel. Just about everything was unsatisfactory with our stay. The advertised "fireplace" was a thing that fluctuated pink light and plugged into the wall to be an electric heater. The bathroom was small. The room was old with poor upkeep. There was no on-site breakfast -- no facility to cook food -- not even a piece of bread. There was almost no service and whenever someone was there that person acted arrogantly. The cost of the room was high. We were looking to have a quality stay, but instead we felt like we were ripped-off. This establishment must be removed from BedandBreakfast.com -- it is not a B&B.
2.2 on December 11, 2015
The rooms were to have been updated - but the wall outlets would not hold a plug. We had a breaker blow when using a hair dryer. Our neighbors could be heard through the walls. The hot tubs were pretty outdated and no place to put the wet cover from the hot tub. Probably won't stay there again.

I was a little disappointed when we were placed in a room different than the room we chose online. I knew it was an option if the hot tub was not working properly, however, we were not entirely concerned with having a hot tub. We carefully picked out the room we wanted and were really hoping to stay In that room. The room we were placed in did have a beautiful view of the trees and pond! However, the room was very dark, our television was very far away, and the furniture and carpet was pretty worn. It was a good deal for the buy one night get one free and the town of Nashville is gorgeous with lots to offer. I would have just liked to stay in the room we booked or had the option to decide if we were okay without the hot tub before being placed in another room. The staff was very friendly, and it was very quiet and safe. My husband and I had a great time in Nashville and would probably stay here again.

Upon arriving at Abbey Inn we were notified our room had been changed due to the bathroom being broke in the original room. I was fine with that. I only picked the room I picked because they were pretty booked and it was about the only one left. Anyway, I picked one with a fountain view and when they changed our room we got a balcany with a view of the outdoor wedding gazebo and lake, which was quite lovely. We were there celebrating our 12th anniversary and got to watch a wedding take place at the outside venue. Just beautiful! They also let us check in early, which isn't something they normally do...so we appreciated that. The rooms were quite clean. Some wear and tear but nothing too bad. I loved the King bed...and the hot tub and the sitting area. The location is great. Less than a 5 minute drive into town, but still on the outskirts. It's noisier than we had expected when your outside on the grounds at the Abbey, but it's on a main drag into town so it can't be helped and we couldn't hear it when we were inside. Over all, beautiful setting, rooms were clean and the grounds are pretty. We would definitely recommend staying at this Inn. I'm sure we'll be back. Maybe next time we'll make use of the gazebo and renew our vows!!

Arrival to the Abbey Inn was early evening. Someone was at the desk working as posted and was able to help us check in. The grounds are very nice. It was a bit smaller facility than I had expected. The foliage around the grounds could be trimmed back a little but overall the presentation was nice. The room was very clean. It did seem a bit dated but it served us well. We had a little issue with the hot tub thermostat not working but it was fixed very quickly. Overall stay was very relaxing and I would not hesitate to come back!

This is a beautiful facility, and we had a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, no one was at the reception desk when we arrived (during the check-in window of time), so we waited ~15 minutes and then called the inn to bring a staff member to our attention. We were not greeted in a timely nor a friendly way. Also, the bathroom trash had not been emptied before our stay. We would stay here again, and probably recommend it to others, but I was not impressed by the reception staff.

Our lives are probably no different than most people. We find ourselves daily in the mist of our very busy schedules. We decided that even in the mist of our busy schedule we wanted to take the time to go from the ordinary to the amazing. Abbey Inn did just that. What time is it? It was a time for us to reconnect and enjoy each other's company. It was a time where life's interruptions were removed and the simple pleasures and events we loved to do were made a reality. Abbey Inn provided a restful, relaxed environment while focusing on an opportunity of events and activities that we both enjoyed. All of this was done with quality service. What time is it? Time to try Abbey Inn. We will be going again. Thanks for the memories and our time of reconnecting.

My wife and I arrived on a Friday evening and walked into the main office, where we had to page someone on the cordless phone to come check us in. The woman who responded to us was friendly and helpful, but just not very professional. We first learned that our room had to be changed because of maintenance issues. Then, even though I had called about using a Bed and Breakfast gift card and had been assured that it would be OK, this knowledge hadn't been passed along to her. "Uh," she said. "I'm not sure how to do this." It did eventually work out, but the whole process, especially coming so soon, did not instill in me much confidence. Entering our room, we found a monstrous hot tub sitting two feet from the bed with its maintenance door wide open and a power cord dangling out of it. Again, not so big a deal. I found the woman at the desk and she fixed it up for us, chalking it up to a maintenance error. But I thought this was just sloppy. Our room was the Jasmine room. There's a king bed and a hot tub, one chair in the corner, a TV, and the bathroom. Everything felt sort of flimsy and outdated. There is no individual control for the heat in the room. I was disappointed there was no table or desk in the room either. There was not even a common area in the whole inn where you could find a table (for a late night game of cards, maybe?) Again, it's fine if all you want is a bed and a hot tub, but it's disingenuous for the Abbey Inn to call itself a bed and breakfast. It's more like just a plain old hotel with a hot tub stuffed inside each room. If you're looking for a place to sleep for one night, the Abbey Inn delivers the bare necessities. You will have a roof over your head and comfortable place to sleep. But I think for the price you can do much better elsewhere, in quality and service. And that's a shame, because I think the Abbey Inn has lots of potential. In the end though, all the small mistakes add up, and this place ultimately misses the mark.

My husband and I really needed to get away from it all. The Abbey Inn was just what we needed. Lovely accommodations and private, but close enough to town for meals, shopping and strolling. Being close to the park was another bonus. I have already recommended the Abbey Inn to friends and family and will continue to do so. Also a plus, everyone in town was very friendly. We don't see that everywhere we go. We plan to return. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!

My husband and I made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We were unsure of what to expect, but were excited about the prospect of a hot tub in our room! We were completely satisfied with our trip to Abbey Inn. The room was clean, beautiful, and inviting. The "fireplace" space heater warmed the room nicely. The hot tub was clean and great. The bathroom was simple, nothing fancy, but you go to the Abbey Inn for the hot tub. We didn't realize that breakfast would be at a different inn, but the drive was quick and we went early enough to get free parking in Nashville. We would definitely recommend a trip to the Abbey Inn!

I am not sure what the owners of this place are thinking? Maybe that people that want to stay here don't have standards? It began at the check-in process when you had to page someone to come to the desk...then to have the door to the cabin dead bolted so you can't get in. Their website claims the cabin is a romantic cabin in the woods. Not so much. It is basically a run down cabin right beside the main highway to town...where you can hear trucks go by all night. Their website says to expect to be a bit rustic. I get that. Rustic doesn't mean run down. From the trash littering the entrance way, the towels with bleach stains, the sex toy under the bed, the anti-freeze container on the hot-tub (did they put it in the hot tub??), to the mold on the shower curtain and the cracked windows. I have stayed in cabins before...this one is more of a hunting cabin than a romantic retreat. Beware...it isn't what it is advertised...and it isn't cheap. The owners of this place could make this really nice with a little investment...but it is abundantly clear they just don't care. Furthermore, I am not sure why they are asking for reviews on a bed and breakfast site...this isn't a bed and breakfast or anything close.

My wife and I have stayed in the Sweet Heart Cabin (about 3 years ago) and had a great long, private weekend there. When making the reservation for the Abbey Inn (Lilac Room) I had some concerns about it being "connected" to the other rooms and lacking in privacy...my fears couldn't have been more unfounded. We came down from Indy for a quick, one night getaway. We were able to check in right at 4pm, no issues and were in our room within 5 minutes. The room, bedding, bathroom and hot tub were all very clean. We added the breakfast buffet passes for the Artist Colony the next morning (savings of about $4) - the breakfast was much better than expected for a $6 buffet and the French Toast was amazing! I saw one other couple while checking in and after that never saw or heard anyone else. The all adult, quiet setting was just what we needed and walked away telling all of our couple friends about it and planning our next visit. Thank you for a great getaway!

We wanted to take a short trip to get away for a couple of days. Besides the wonderful room with a hot tub and electric fireplace, we were able to shop and hike at Brown County State Park. We also had a couple's massage right on site! We will definitely stay at Abbey Inn again in the future.

We loved the spacious room with a large jacuzzi, fireplace, comfy king bed, air conditioning, satellite tv, and comfortable couches. We loved our stay at the Abbey Inn. The kitchenette was helpful for us to enjoy making a few of our own meals to save money and to simply stay in so that we could make the most of our stay! The winter special--two nights for the price of one--was hard to beat! We'd highly recommend the Abbey for your next stay in Brown County.

We enjoyed our stay at the Abbey Inn. The room that we originally booked had a broken hot tub upon our check in, so we were moved into The Jasmine Room instead. I felt that the room we were given in place of the room that we chose, was not as nice and up-to-date. I was a little disappointed that no one called to inform us of the change.

My husband and I were given a gift certificate to stay at Abbey Inn. We went down for a couple of nights and stayed in the Ivy Solarium Suite. It was nicely decorated and very spacious. Unfortunately the thermostat is not controlled by the guest and my husband and I are very hot natured people so we were very warm and somewhat uncomfortable while sleeping. I understand that the hot tub raises the temperature and humidity but I believe the problem could be remedied if there were screens in the windows and on the door so that we could have left them open while we were there during the day and maybe left the windows open at night if there were screens. We enjoyed our visit and would visit again.

It smelled like the inside of a funeral home. The pictures you see on the Internet of the suites do not look like the actual room. The images show a very nice hot tub on balcony looking into the woods... No, it was inside and looked like a 1980's model w a w a blue crusted solar blanket on it. Didn't think about trying that out. Anyways, walked into the area which held our room and once again both my wife and I got the funeral home sensation again. The door to the room was unlocked w tv on. Not a good feeling. Checked everywhere to make sure no one was in there. Then lady bugs both alive and dead all on curtains and kitchen area. It had a musty feel and smell... List goes on. Not a great start to first time to brown county.

I found this place just googling places to stay on Nashville. I fell in love after looking at pics but was still leery since it wasn't a "chain hotel". We booked and when we walked into the suite it was the prettiest place we had ever stayed in. It was absolutely adorable and I was so excited we had chosen it. We were pretty much alone for the days we were there, the staff greeted us on the grounds one time each day but never bothered is after that, the room was spotless, the hot tub was perfect, there was a little place out back to light a fire (something we really enjoy at home), there was a lighted path at night to walk around the pond, check in was a breeze, check out was simple, the grounds were beautiful. We could not have been more pleased and I've told everyone I talked to, to go visit!! We live 30 minutes from here and I've already hinted around about renting that exact room for our 20 year anniversary in Decber when there is snow on the ground and we can just sit in the hot tub and look out at the snow covered grounds while we hide from the world. DEFINTELY worth the money!!

My wife and I stayed in the Fern room for 2 nights. It was very clean and we loved the privacy. The hot tub was nice and clean and ready when we checked in. Julia at the front desk was very helpful and we asked so many questions tell I was sure we were bothering her, but she was always ready to help. The pond and gazebo area was beautiful. We walked around it several times during our stay. Over all it was a very nice weekend and we will be back next year.

We loved the hot tub, it was very spacious! The bed was comfortable but the bathroom sink was cracked and the floor tile was chipped and a piece got stuck in my foot. We thought the guest book idea in the room was creative where each guest can share their experiences at brown county.

We called to reserve the periwinkle room for our son and his wife for their honeymoon. They ended up not getting the right room and said he was rushed during check-in so he didn't say anything. The pictures you view are from when the remodel was just complete. They do not at all show its current quality. Which is lacking and very poor indeed. The outside grounds are over grown, not kept up, the fountain at the time was inoperative with low water level and scum. It shows signs of very poor maintenance and quality repairs. We had to switch rooms because the hot tub, which you can not turn off, was extremely loud. Our shower had a mildew curtain, poor water pressure, and took very long to get warm water. It was missing or had loose sticky back carpet tiles (budget flooring). While requesting a new room the receptionist mentioned how the manager had known about the hot tub noise. Stating that if the guests complained there was a room already waiting. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THE ROOM WAS PAWNED OFF ON US IN THE HOPES WE WOULD NOT COMPLAIN??? unprofessional and uncourteous. Our second room was not much better. With an unfinished A/C unit install and unsightly cooler lines bolted to the exterior wall that could be witnessed from our balcony. But did have a glass shower door and a quiet hot tub. The staff were in unprofessional casual clothing, adding to the overall lacking demeanor of the inn. One employee of which i am 100 percent positive was on some type of downer drug. Causing her to be zombie like in her movements and minimal speech interactions with myself and guests. The food vouchers we received for a local break/lunch restaurant were by far the best part of my Abby Inn experience. The food there was great and hardy. I recommend eating there and will again on my next visit. Nashville is full of great things to do but has many other lodging choices that I will be exploring next time. I feel very strongly that Abby Inn exploits the review pictures it shows and I am only grateful that I had a two night stay with buy 1 get 1 night free special.

My husband and I had a fabulous time at the Abbey Inn!!!! We walked around the lake and sat on the benches and enjoyed the seclusion! Our room was amazing and the hot tub was wonderful and relaxing! Just what we needed for our anniversary!! We also enjoyed the Harvest Moon Pizzeria and all the little shops down town! We definitely will be back!!

The rooms are expensive here and they could use some upkeep. Our hot tub didn't have a traditional cover, just a piece of solar cover thrown on the water. The ceiling either had mold or a water spot and it was covered up with stapled material to the ceiling. The bed was very lumpy and didn't have very much cushion. However, the property is very quiet, no children or animals. The fountain was working when we got there. Me and my husband enjoyed the peacefulness. Would love if they would take more pride in their rooms.

When we went to check in the lady was not very friendly or informative. When I tried to flush the toilet I had to plunge it to go down and the shower was plugged up. When we told them they did not fix it. I had to hunt around the common area to find toilet paper because there was no one around. The fountain did not run the whole time if it had it would have been more romantic. The pond needs to be kept up instead of looking scummy. The hot tub gets drained between guests but they do not use chemicals which makes the water stink after the first day. We didn't even use the hot tub the last day because it stunk so bad.

We stayed in the Magnolia room at Abbey Inn. It is a BIG room with lots of space. Nice jacuzzi, kitchenette, etc. They didn't service our room the three days we were there, but it may have been because is was a holiday weekend. Still, it was clean, private, in a good location, and everything worked. The breakfast buffet at the Artist's Colony restaurant was excellent.

It is a nice place to stay quiet private. But the staff did not look up to par to me and my spouse. The room was hot most of the time. I think because of the hot tub. We kept the cover on it when not in use. Would of liked extra towels when the toilet decided to sweat all over the place. We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary. So we expected more. I think staff needed to be in the office when we showed up. No body piercings look like professional.

We stayed mid-week and were probably the only people there at least the first night. It was quiet and out of the way even though it sits on the highway into town. The staff was scarce - they just left an envelope with the key and the receipt for me to sign in the check in area. We are 'independent' people anyway so this was perfect for us. They gave us a free upgrade to a suite where the hot tub sits off in a room surrounded by windows and it was lovely. The bed was very comfortable as well.

Overall a good stay. Do need to bring extra fans if you like it to be cool when you sleep. Room gets a little warm because of the whirlpool in the room. Our stay was overall very positive, the staff was very nice, we had one complication with the tv in our room so they moved us up to an open sweet. It was a relaxing and pleasant stay. Only suggestion for them is to clean up some of the small things because they would make this place a full 5star if so.

We needed a weekend away together. We stayed in the Tulip Room. This is the perfect place for a nice relaxed, stress-free weekend. The hot tub was ready when we arrived. We stayed in the Sweetheart Cabin across from the Abbey Inn for a few nights in March. The cabin was perfect for our little family, and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I stayed in the The Peach Blossom Room. Was very pleased with the private entrance and the view was beautiful. Room was very clean and inviting. Huge bath room with a Jacuzzi. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi was not up to what I would expect. Was very clean, warm and ready, when we got in ready to relax (was just in a car accident, was instructed to soak in a hot tub) the jets would barely work..even after an adjustment of the the dial which only made small bubbles. Talked to the office was told that they didn't know anything about hot tubs (which I understood being a new employee) she called the owner and told me that yeah that one is old and there's nothing I can do to make it any better. I could've made more bubbles with a straw!! The bed was very inviting nice clean covers and sheets but the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. I feel I didn't get my money's worth considering what I spent for a room that I occupied for only 19 hrs. With a subpar hot tub and an uncomfortable bed..Over all rating would be 3 Thank You James Barnett Cheated Customer

Our room at the Abbey In. Had been recently remodeled and overall looked and felt very nice. But some basic details needed attention to provide the luxurious feel they are going for. For instance, the toilet in our room had mold growing in it. Several light bulbs were out. The controls on the hot tub had to be hit- hard- to make them work. And the gentleman working the check out desk smelled of achohol. You can't cut corners and be great at the same time. Overall, it was fine.

I made reservations for my girlfriend and I on Valentine's Day. We arrived around 5 PM and felt welcomed by the staff member at the front desk. Our room was clean and they even left some chocolate and rose petals on the bed. The hot tub worked perfectly and the bed was really comfortable. I would recommend purchasing the breakfast vouchers for the Artists Colony as well. We really enjoyed breakfast and the restaurant is just a mile or so up the road in Nashville.

At Christmastime, I decided I needed to do something sweet for valentine's day. We've driven past the Abbey Inn on our way to Ediinburgh, IN or on our way to Ohio countless times and always thought it looked inviting. As a surprise, I booked the Perrywinkle room for one night for us to get away on the day after Valentines day. I would have loved to book the suite for 2 days, but we couldn't get anyone to watch our 3 kids that long. One night is usuall the best we can manage. Took her to Edinburgh for a little shopping trip and then back to the Abbey Inn. We were met at the desk by a very friendly, funny attendant who got us squared away. At first, I thought he was going to put us in the wrong room as he said we had the Peony Suite. Turns out the hot tub was having issues in the Perrywinkle Room, so they upgraded us to the suite for the night at no extra charge. Awesome. We unloaded our stuff and went into Nashville to eat. If you've never been to Nashville, I might advise you to do it before check in. at 5pm, it starts looking like the town that dreaded sundown. We did go to the sports bar (name escapes me) and ate. Very good place and was on the main drag. Anyways, back to the room after dinner. Room was spacious, couch was comfy, bed was firm (we like a firm mattress) and hot tub was awesome. It was quiet, it was cozy, it was snowing outside and we switched off between lounging around the room or lounging in the hot tub just enjoying our very quiet, kid free evening. Next morning, we were out by 10am to get home to get the kids, though check out time wasn't till noon. Very nice they would let you sleep in that long. :) Again, very quiet, very cozy, and we loved every minute. We might go back for our anniversary in October. Check it out

The hotel is a great "getaway" hotel but it has very few things to do. My wife and I checked in on a holiday (Columbus Day) for our honeymoon and there wasn't a single person on duty to check guests in. My wife and I literally searched the property for over a hour to figure out how to check in. I finally found our room key on a corner wall in a secluded room. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant on site..they also don't have any room service, or phones in the rooms. I was there 3 days and I didn't see a single housekeeper anywhere to get fresh sheets. Our room was really nice (especially the hot tub).

I was looking for something different to do to celebrate mine and my boyfriends birthdays and we had heard Brown County was great place to visit. However, the only people we knew that had visited the area had camped there so, I had no personal recommendations in regards to other optional accomodations. We did not want to camp and we did not want to stay at a B&B (mainly because most require you to share bathroom facilities with other guests). After much research online, I found Abbey Inn to be the best deal for what they offered and when we arrived we were completely surprised at how great of a deal it really was! We took advantage of the weeknight special and stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night for the price of one night. We stayed in the Dogwood room and absolutely loved it! We have stayed several places across the U.S. and this has been, by far, our most favorite because of the ensuite hotub, the wonderful decor, the private balcony and how little it all cost. It sits right outside the beautiful town of Nashville and close to one of the entrances to the state park...and we loved visiting both! If you want a romantic get-away, this is the place to stay...we can't wait to go back! p.s. if you do visit, take advantage of the package that includes the breakfast buffet at the Artist Colony Inn just down the road...it was not only inexpensive but so delicious!

We stayed here in the fall. The weather was wonderful. During the weekdays there was a deal for a free night after one night stay. Price worth it with this deal. The room was a little more worn than expected. Hot tub worked just fine. The attendant was very nice. The breakfast bar at the Colony Inn was worth the $4/person coupon. I recommend the place. It would be nice for a small wedding too.

Loved the Abbey Inn. Very clean rooms, very quiet place, and very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return again some day. The only thing that would have made it better would have been access to the outside patio area without having to go around the building. The room we were given was not the one we reserved but things worked out fine in the long run. Nice value!!!

My husband just wanted to visit Brown County for some shopping and fun walking around outside. We've been here before, but never stay over. We loved our experience staying at the Abbey Inn and felt like a mini-vacation that weekend. We will definitley be back. The room was beautiful and the service was excellent. Thanks so much again.

My girlfriend and I took off for a few days to get away from our stressful lives. I found the Abbey Inn online and booked us the Ivy Solarium room for a couple nights. The staff when we checked in was very informative and very nice (as well as when we checked out). Other than seeing one couple walking into the door to their room we did not hear or see anyone. We saw cars in the parking lot but we felt like we were the only ones there! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub felt amazing after a day of shopping and exploring the town. I proposed on our last night at the Abbey Inn and she said yes! My fiance and I couldn't be happier and we are looking forward to returning to the Abbey Inn in the future.

The Abbey Inn is very clean, charming, and private. My husband and I loved the atmosphere - crisply and romantically decorated with the right balance. It was nice to have the dining options all off site; we could change up every day then. The court yard and garden areas were lovely and being removed from most things made it very restful. Quite the location for a relaxing and recharging vacation!

Very nice, but would liked to have had dining options on site.

We had a wonderful honeymoon at the Abbey Inn! Everything was so clean and accessible. The room got a little warm at night due to the hot tub but there was a box fan in the hall closet that we used (plus I sleep with a fan when at home) so it was wonderful! We are planning to stay there every year for our anniversary :)

The Iris room was very large with a full kitchen. The room was clean and cozy. I would stay here again.

The bathroom fan was very loud. Sheets were not good quality and the bathroom outlet was warn. The overall stay was satisfactory but for the price I would expect those things to be maintained.

We had a very enjoyable weekend in Nashville, IN and the Abbey in was a major part of it. The King sized bed was very comfortable and the pillows were excellent. Enjoyed the hot tub without having to leave our room. The inn was very relaxing. The only down side was not having a restaurant at this facility.
4.2 on August 02, 2013
The room was clean, hot tub was cozy and the pond/gazebo area was great. I proposed to my girlfriend in the gazebo and the sucker she is said yes. I would definitely go back. I do recommend putting screens on the windows so that we can open them all up but keep the flies/mosquitoes out.

My wife and I have stayed at the Abbey Inn a couple of times now and it's our favorite get-away place. They do not allow kids, so it's wonderful to come here to get away from the children and not have to deal with anyone else's as well. The suites are always clean and we love the whirlpool in the atrium that looks out over the pond. The staff have always been friendly. There is no dining option, but you're close to Nashville (and not far from Bloomington) where there are many options.

We absolutely loved our stay! When we arrived the room we had booked had an issue with the hot tub so they upgraded us to a Suite (The honeysuckle). We had a wonderful experience. The bed was comfortable and be space was great. I will say the room was very cold, but we didn't mind it. If anything it made you and your spouse closer and forced you to actually be together! The staff was wonderful as well. I heard no neighboring people but this could have been because it is not their busy season. In the future I would just not purchase the buffet breakfast ahead of time, we didn't use 2 of them! We booked this place not knowing anything about the town. It is a small country tourist town. If you can't survive in the outdoors and need a mall...don't go here. Lol. My husband and I are only 20 years old and we had a blast. Oh and sign up for the free line dancing on Monday night's! Also, one thing I wondered a lot about this inn was the bathroom but no one left very detailed reviews. One reviewer was correct in that the shower water leaks out even with the doors closed, and quite a bit. But it's really not that big of a deal and is nothing to get worked up over! The shower was spacious had two seats and shelves next to it. There is not a lot of counter space but it didn't bother me! There is cabinet space underneath if you really need it! This suite also had a small walk in closet for longer stays...and for those that watch tv it had a good movie and channel selection. My husband and I don't have cable by choice so it wasn't needed for us, but it was nice while we had some down time. Although, I think places like this shouldn't have tv, to encourage couples to spend time focusing on each other! Also, the room has one of those noise machines (waterfall, rain, exc). We actually used it every night! I am one of those people that needs white noise to sleep and the rain setting was perfect! So overall our stay was fabulous! We loved it, and plan to come back!

We came to Abby Inn for 2 nights for our 30th Anniversary. To our delight you had a summer special on the room rate and breakfast vouchers for our favorite restaurant the Artist's Colony. After settling in there were things I discovered as a disabled person that I didn't consider checking prior to okaying the room, so we just dealt with them. But the main one was the shower as large and lovely as it was, had nothing to hold onto and I found the shower floor very slippery. There was no tub so I ended up placing a hand towel under my feet when I showered to add friction. We got into the hot tub which is the main treat for me when we travel. I do not own one and traveling adds to my pain issues so a hot tub or jacuzzi tub is a MUST for me in order to relax away the pain of the day and rest up to enjoy my vacation. But to my sadness, I go in and only 1 jet worked properly and it was a foot jet, not a back or neck one. The other ones you could see and feel a little air but not enough to blow bubbles or help with relaxation. So needless to say, my bathing time which is my time to relax my painful muscles even here at home in a regular tub, was a very stressful time in our room for me. I did not ask to change rooms at that point b/c to pick up everything we had unpacked for two nights stay, would have just been too much trouble as exhausted as we were and it was late at night when no one is available at the desk. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my thoughts, Denise --Louisville, KY

2.2 on July 05, 2013
Nice place to stay, The Hot Tub really did not work very good and the ladder used as steps is very unsafe. The TV needs to be on a moving bracket where you can see it better from the bed and even from the Hot Tub. The door also should have a safety latch on the inside, anyone with a key could walk in while you are inside.

The Abbey Inn is a great weekend get-away location. It is close to nature and close to great entertainment and shops. The hot tub was a great relaxation feature and the king sized bed with comfortable matress provided a wonderful nights sleep. The stay is worth the short trip from Indy and we give 2 thumbs up to our overall experience.

I was well pleased with the stay. I thought it was wierd being asked for a tip for cleaning the room after I had paid so much for the room. With the price they are asking, I have some high expectations. They met those expections satisfactorily.

The room we originally chose at the Abbey Inn was not in working order, so we were upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was not as updated as others we viewed, but it was still a very nice accommodation, and we very much enjoyed our stay. We did not actually have breakfast here, but at the restaurant in town, where the voucher was located.

My husband and I love Nashville Indiana and have always wanted to stat at the Abbey Inn, so this year I booked the Periwinkle room.... It was the most perfect room imaginable. We fell in love with the view from our private balcony and complete peacefulness of the room. I know there were other guests that stayed but we never heard anyone, which having three boys at home was wonderful to have complete peace and quiet. The grounds at the Abbey Inn were stunning to say the least. We took a little nature walk and got amazing pictures. I love the little touches in the room like the journal for guests to write about their stay. It was heartwarming to read the love stories left by guests. If you are looking for a perfect place to reconnect with each other, celebrate a special occasion, or just want a romantic get away, the Abbey Inn is the perfect place! We are totally in love and I am already planning for a birthday get away back to the Periwinkle room!

Our stay at the Abbey Inn, Nashville, IN property was a gift from our daughter. As such, it was a wonderful gift. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our weekend. That said, the Abbey Inn was a very nice location and the hot tub in our suite was a nice amenity, but had we paid the rate in full, we would have thought the suite very expensive for what it was. There is no dining at the Abbey Inn, but they do offer a very good discount on a breakfast buffet at a local restaurant. If one is staying at the Abbey Inn, by all means take advantage of the breakfast buffet discount. We may visit the Abbey Inn again, but we would hope to be able to take advantage of their weekday special, basically a buy one, get one free deal. That would be much easier to swallow. All in all it is a nice place to stay in Brown County, but it isn't inexpensive.

Overall we had a great time. The room, though average was nice, clean, and quite. The hot tube felt awesome. The staff was kind and attentive. My only complaint is that when out on the balcony the view was disapointing due to old blue tarps just thrown on the ground below along with trash cans lying around.

We had gone to the Abbey-Inn for a weekend of rest and relaxation for some adult time. We have a total of 8 kids between the two of us and it was nice to have some us time is nice quiet adult location. Nashville IN is very adult related which was something we really like about the trip but on the other side the rooms were very nice with homey feel not a Motel feel it was like we had our own home to rest and enjoy each other for the weekend.

Check in was smooth very friendly staff. This place is everything that you need to get away, wind down and just relax. It was better than I expected it to be. Just remember that a hot tub in your room has chemicals that give off a little odor and has a motor that yes makes noise but what would you expect your coming to an inn with a hot tub in your room. Anyway my wife and I loved the inn, thank you Abbey Inn for providing us with a great two days.

We had to book the Abbey Inn at the last minute after a booking we had made at a different location ran into issues and would not work with us to get us the accomodations we had paid for. The front desk clerk working when we checked in at the Abbey Inn was absolutely wonderful. The property was very beautiful and quiet and with a no-children policy was a great escape from our everyday life. The hot tub in our room worked perfectly and helped to make this a very relaxing stay. We will go here again and you should too!

I took my husband on a surprise Birthday Night to the Abbey-Inn and we had a wonderful time. Check in was very simple. We stayed in the Peach Blossom suite. It is a nice suite in the back of the property with a beautiful view of the Gazebo and Brown County Park. The room is a great size with a King bed, sound machine, Ipod docking clock station, flat screen, DVD and an electric fireplace. The bathroom was very spacious with a shower and the hot tub. We had no problems with chlorine smells or loud noises coming from the hot tub (as mentioned in previous posts.) I would agree the sheets could be updated as felt a little worn with some pilling. The room did get cold at night and since there is no room thermostat it was a little uncomfortable-until we figured out to put the electric fireplace on to throw some heat. The common area did not have extra towels, movies or coffee as listed per their website but I was able to get an extra towel easily before the clerk left for the evening. We added the breakfast buffet for 2 at the Artist Colony when we booked online and that was fabulous-especially for $4/ person which is a steal!! Overall I would say we thoroughly enjoyed our outing and will definitely be back again in the future. The other room many have recommended is the Dogwood Suite so we may try that.

We had a lovely 2-night stay at the Abbey Inn. Our room was quiet and comfortable, the hot tub easy to use and lovely, and the entire experience stellar. We also took advantage of the couple's massage and enjoyed it thoroughly. We had one very minor issue with the room (the shampoo dispenser wasn't working) and it was fixed immediately when we mentioned it. We will certainly be back! Had to enter a rating for "dining" to submit the review, but this facility didn't have dining options....

The only problem with our stay was that no one came to do room service in our suite when we were there for three nights. We kept putting the sign up on our door, and no one ever came. We were also told over the phone that our hot tub water would be changed daily, and that never happened either. This is not a deal breaker for us. The Abbey Inn is easy access to Nashville and Brown Co State Park. What a lovely, private, romantic place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The Abbey Inn was very enjoyable. It was so nice to have a personal hot tub in the room. Additionally, the optional couple's massage add-on was a nice. My only negative feedback would be that there were a lot of lady bugs in the room that probably came through the patio door. The Abbey Inn should probably spray for bugs.

I don't think we seen another guest. The clerk even came to help out with a hot tub issue (which didn't bother us any...he was quick to help) I definitely recommend this place to stay. We plan to come each wedding anniversary :)

Room and lobby was very clean. Good privacy. Courtyard and decor was aesthetically pleasing. Access to hot tub was nice, but since it does not shut off it affected my sleep. It continued to run the entire day and night.

This was the second year we stayed at the Abbey Inn for our anniversary. It is so peaceful, relaxing and stress free. The rooms are very comfortable and the hot tubs are very relaxing, especially after a couples massage. The massage therapist's were wonderful both years we have been there, we have had the couples massage. My husband and I will be seeing Abbey Inn every September for our anniversary. Thank you Abbey Inn and all the wonderful massage therapist. You are all very professional!.

Spent a wonderful 2 nights in the Periwinkle room. Private balcony looking over a pond, large hottub, comfortable bed. What more do you want??? Will be back!!

The room was just what was advertised.. The hot tub in the room was a constant hum but it was not a distraction and did not interfere with sleep. The Inn was quiet and we rarely saw any of the other guests. There is no restaurant on site. The breakfast coupons were down in town, but the meal was fine and the travel to the other B&B was not a bother. We stayed for a combo business trip and anniversary get away. My wife doesn't like traditional B&Bs - she liked this!

We stayed in the Sweatheart cabin with our son and his family for a long weekend. The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable!! Had a few extra bugs living in the corners and bathroom, but it is in the woods. Hurricane Isaac decided to linger in the area the entire time we were there so it rained the ENTIRE time we were there. We ventured out some but mostly enjoyed the cabin and hot tub on the covered porch. We had a wonderful time!! Note: We cooked our meals in the nicely equipped kitchen in the cabin, but could have used some hot pads/pot holders and a couple of serving dishes.

I booked a room at the Abbey Inn for two nights over Labor Day weekend for a quick getaway with my new husband. We stayed in the Jasmine Room. The room was very nice (especially for the price). The hot tub was spacious. Everything was exactly as we expected or better. Check in and out was super quick. We paid for vouchers to have breakfast at the Artist's Colony in Nashville. It was a great little breakfast buffet. The only problem we had was with the couple's massage we booked through the Abbey Inn, but the problem was not with the hotel itself. The massage company ended up canceling on us, and Abbey Inn gave us a full refund right away (it was credited to my bank account before we left town). I would recommend doing spa activities through Ethereal Day Spa (http://www.etherealvillage.com/) in town. We booked a couples package that included facials, a hot tub soak, a rain forest shower and a couples massage for just $90 more than it would have been for a couples massage at the hotel.

This is our second year of spending our anniversary at the Abbey Inn. We had the Lilac Room last year which was wonderful, but the Peach Blossom Room was even better. It was a magical stay filled with quiet and good alone time. This room has everything romantic that you can think of right down to the wine glasses, fireplace and hot tub. We decided this year that the Abbey Inn would be our annual retreat for our anniversary.

This is our 3rd visit to the Abbey Inn over the past few years, and we continue to be impressed! From the efficient check-in to the private setting to the beautifully remodeled suites, I can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Brown County. We will definitely be booking it again for our visit next year!
3.2 on August 26, 2012
The grounds and outside area was amazingly beautiful! The room was average (nothing different than a franchise motel), which we felt was WAY over priced for few amenities. Due to the romantic portrayal of the Inn, we expected wine glasses instead of a plastic cup for our champagne, and more ornate furnishings. We had a great time visiting the shops in nearby Nashville, and had a FANTASTIC meal at a local restaurant, the Hob Nob. It was a great "one time" experience, but doubt we will return for the amount charged....

We stay in the same room every year in honor of not only our anniversary of first meeting, but also our anniversary of our engagement by the pond in 2010. We enjoyed the room as always as far as the setup and cleanliness. We have noticed a decline in the overall experience at the Abbey Inn compared to our first stay in 2009. The bathroom door still does not close completely, there was no corkscrew for our array of Brown County and Chateau Thomas wines. I had to make two trips to the office to get a corkscrew that worked. The television reception for the few times we watched TV was very spotty. The picture, being Dish Network, kept blanking out over and over. The table we always used in the past on our semi-private patio was no longer there for our wine and cheese. We were unable to fully engage the deadbolt to the front door due to there not being enough clearance in the door frame hole. We had also purchased the couples massage which was enjoyable, other than the lack of consistency in the massage of each side. The environment was peaceful and quiet as always, which is one of the main reasons we stay there. If attention is brought to the little things then our stay will be back to the level it was in 2009. Still a great place to stay!

I googled romantic getaways and found abbey inn. We liked what we seen online and booked it. When we got there we really liked the location, the setting of the place, our room and the view we got from our room. We did kinda wish there was somebody there 24/7 just in case but we never did need them. We actually can't wait to go back. I would like to be able to see which room is located where. That way if I wanted a different room next time I could decide by what we will see out our window.

Very nice inn. My wife and I needed a quick getaway and found this inn. It was just what we needed. Very quiet and the hot tub in the room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable which I wasn't expecting since of my back problems. Very close to downtown Brown County which provides all the entertainment you would need for a very nice getaway. Would love to go back during the fall for the colors.

My wife and I returned to the Abbey a couple weeks ago for our second visit. We spent our wedding night in one of the rooms about a year ago. For that trip we arrived at midnight and hit the road pretty early. We loved our room but didn't get to experience much of the town, so we were very glad to be able to stay awhile longer this trip. As usual, when we arrived the room was breathtaking. It was spotless and welcoming. I have not been able to find any rooms with the accomodations the Abbey has within 500 miles of our home. Having the hot tub RIGHT THERE is just awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the getting able to experience the town Friday night and Saturday afternoon. We were able to grab a nice pizza at harvest moon and take a nice stroll around town. We loved all the little shops and eateries. From what I can tell the Abbey is top notch as far as lodging in the area..we highly recommend it to everyone...

The Abbey Inn is a great place to get away!! The modern rooms, comfortable accomadations, hot tub for two and easy access to Nashville shops and restaurants make it a great place to relax and enjoy one another. We visit a few times each year and always look forward to going back.

When we arrived, our room was very warm. The AC was not doing a good job. we complained and we were moved to a suite on the lower level, which was nice. The hot tub is in a seperate room, which I'm sure helped with the room temperature. As far as value, we got the deal of a free night, during the week and even at that, the regular room is a little over priced. I would pay that, for two nights in the suite, though. We will consider another stay, but probably hope for cooler weather.

We stayed here one night and got here a little late. The room was very beautiful and the jacuzzi was well maintained. We did not see anyone the whole time we were there. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The prices were a little higher than what they advertised, but they said this was due to their peak season.

We were however disappointed to find out that when we went for our breakfast buffet the restaurant failed to let the Abbey Inn know they were closing breakfast early. But the Abbey Inn refunded our breakfast no questions asked. We had a wonderful time, it was so quiet and relaxing. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime!

I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before the Abbey. And it was a pretty great first experience. The king size bed was so comfortable and I didn't wake up like I nomally do when my boyfriend gets up to use the restroom in the night. Its super close to Nashville, IN which was also an adventure. The staff was super friendly and available. Recommend the Abbey 100%

The room was great just a lil smaller then I thought it would be but nice and cozy. But the smell from the molded fountain outside was over whelming from the time you pull into the parking lot til you get in the room and close the door. I do plan on going back justhope the fountain is cleaned up by then. I bet it is beautiful when its clean and working properly.

The Abbey Inn is a wonderful place to go for a quiet getaway. We stayed in suite #6 which is on the back side of the building. It's very secluded and overlooks the pond and the setup for weddings that they have. I can't speak to the dining, but the rooms, service, and overall experiences were great and I will definitely stay there again!

We had a lovely time at the Abbey Inn. It was even better than we were expecting and was reasonably priced. The service was amazing, they gave us great advice for where to dine. They also provided what we requested for promptly (tea cup candles). It was truly a blast and we cannot wait to go back. They provided everything from cue tips in the room to the greatest hot tub ever!!!

I really enjoyed my stay at Abbey Inn. My husband and I took the weekend to get away from home and the tasks of life. Abbey Inn's rooms are large, and seem to be newly refurbished. While the stay was nice, there were a few essentials that the room lacked. There was nowhere to set our suitcases or personal belongings. A table or some sort of dresser would have been nice. The bathroom also laced surface space to set down personal toiletries. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows to make lounging on the bed quite nice.

We purchased the buy one get one night free, which is a good deal with a hot tub room. Only complaint.. the room was very cold. We stayed in January and there was literally no heat coming out of the vents. We uncovered the hot tub, turned on the electric fireplace and to no avail, we were freezing in the night. There are no individual thermostats.

We had a great stay at your place. The only thing that could be improved upon, in my opinion would be a folding door between the rooms. The temperature was almost unpleasant in our room after turning the hot tub up. Maybe having the ability to open a window would be an easy fix? Besides that, everything was very nice, we never really seen or heard another person the whole time. Very relaxing getaway!

Stayed in the sweetheart cabin for our Anniversary which is on New Years Eve. Had 2 other couples stay with us. Cabin is very nice and clean. Perfect for a larger gathering. Nice kitchen and living room area. Hot tub was nice, only complaint was for a cabin with 3 rooms a little larger hot tub is needed. Privacy fence around hot tub area was nice. Overall a very pleasent experience. Will definitely stay with the Abbey Inn again.

My only complaint would be the front door and bathroom door for room #1. Both were very difficult to open and close. It was obvious shaving had been done, but the doors could use a little more work. Other than that, we will definitely be making it an annual tradition. We loved it!

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here at the Abbey Inn. Room was comfortable & nice. I would like to try one of the other rooms if we come again. Some of our first choices were already booked. We did a private vow renewal ceremony in the darling chapel at the Inn. The ceremony was sweet, but My husband and I would have likes to talks to the officiant more prior to the ceremony. We would have liked to have done the traditional, Christian vows. But, what we were actually doing in renewing our vows was the important thing even though the vows the officiant gave us were general for any belief system. We have fin memories of our stay and vow renewal at the Inn.

We went to Brown County the day after Christmas to get away for a few days. We were looking for a quiet, luxurious retreat. The room was exactly as it was photographed, and I was very pleased with the amoun of space and the cleanliness. The decor is soothing also. I enjoyed the hottub, and was glad we had a suite, so there was a door leading to a private room where we enjoyed the hottub. The hottub was noisy, and we could not turn it off, so I was glad for the sound barrier. The front desk person was not very friendly or helpful; I was disappointed that the questions I emailed before I came were unanswered. We bought a bed and breakfast package, but I did not know we had to drive into town for it. I much prefer having lodging that I can bring the food to my room and relax in the morning. The food at the restaurant was OK; nothing impressive, but the service there was excellent. The bathroom was a little small, and I would have liked a hair cap--standard in most hotel rooms. We were also very disappointed that the DVD player did not work. I would have appreciated a call or email after our visit apologizing for this inconvenience. Overall, since we paid 50% for the room, it was OK. I think next time I'll just bring breakfast from home so we can sleep in.

The room was fabulous ! Very clean , cute and charming. Made you feel at home . I would recommend the Abby Inn to everyone. It was better than staying in a hotel room. My one and only complaint was that the jacuzzi water was not hot, it was luke warm. The room I stayed in had the jacuzzi in the bathroom which was great. A suggestion would be to put a wall mount tv in the bathroom, so while you are relaxing you have the tv. Overall I would definitely stay there again

I stayed at the Abbey Inn for my honeymoon. Their second night free special made the stay worth it. However, if they did not have that special I wouldn't say the room was worth the price. I did have a lovely time. The place is adorable and cozy and romantic. The regular sized rooms do have a hot tub in them and it's wonderful! However there is no microwave which I feel is something most rooms anywhere should have, especially since there aren't a ton of food options in the area. Our second two nights we stayed in one of the suites. It was so much larger. Instead of having the bed and loveseat in one tiny area and the hottub and coffee maker in another, the suite had a separate space for the bed & hottub area, couch & tv & fireplace, and finally a kitchenette area. There was a microwave in the suite but that was the only added convenience the suite came with except for the space. The room was larger but way more expensive just for a microwave which is a bummer.

We stayed last week. Room was very nice and clean. Only issue is you have to be able to handle the hot tub running all night. I was ok with it, but my wife was not. The bed was comfortable and the setting was very nice.

Loved the Abbey Inn and the town of Little Nashville. We took advantage of the weekly deal they offer. The service was awesome! One small problem in our room and we were instantly upgraded to a larger room - The Iris Suite. Beautiful views of the park. I was hoping that we could walk to town from the Inn.....but it was only a very short drive to town. Only complaint...wish we could have stayed longer. Loved it all!

We enjoyed the time we spent at Abbey Inn. The room was clean and was serviced in a timely manner. We absolutely loved the hot tub. The only thing we were rather disappointed in was that the fountain and grounds didn't seem to be very well kept but overall it was a very nice experience.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Abbey Inn. This place definately knows how to to it. It was so quiet and lovely! It took no time at all to be completely relaxed, which was just what my wife and i needed for our 5th anniversary Thankyou so much Abbey Inn and next time we will definately do the massages also.

The Sweetheart cabin was quaint, just what one would expect esthetically. However, the bed was a nightmare; it should have been replaced several years ago. The sides of the bed rolled into the middle, so there was no problem finding your partner! There was no firewood for the nice fire pit outside, doggone, I forgot to pack my axe! The sewage smell emitting from the bathroom was horrible, but it didn’t seem to bother the insects and spiders, which pretty much had the run of the place. The Hot tub was nice, although, the way the rest of the place was kept, we sort of wondered when the last time it was cleaned, so kind of creepy in that respect, but it functioned properly and was nice at day’s end. If only they provided nice big fluffy towels and some robes, it would have been perfect, or at least tell us ahead of time they do not provide those types of special amenities so we would have known to bring our own. In summary, I suppose if you approach it with real low expectations, you might say it was worth the money, although I think the smell would still ruin it for you. The sad thing is, many people before us had logged in the journal which they provided, some of the very things same unacceptable issues we noted and obviously, they either don’t read them, or they don’t care. And, I suppose, why should they care when they already have your money. Too bad, it has potential to be a really nice place.

We went to Abbey Inn for our honeymoon. It was awesome! The hottub was so relaxing, the bed was comfortable, the quietness was a nice welcome and the privacy was the best. They furnished DVDs if you wanted, the service was outstanding and very friendly and courteous. We plan to come back each year for our anniversary and we are recommending Abbey Inn to all our family and friends. It is the perfect get-away for romance, privacy and to relax. No matter how young or old you are, it will make you fall in love all over again with your mate. We think the room we had was the best. In fact, I am ready to come back right now. I think you did everything right!!! You made us feel like it was just us there. Keep up the good work and we will see you next year and the next and so on. Most wonderful place and during the fall is the best time to be there. I am so glad you are close to us and hopefully we can get a weekend over before our anniversary.

Me and my husband stayed at the Abbey Inn for a romantic getaway. This was our first time staying at the Abbey Inn, and we were more than pleased!! The room looked right on with their website. The colors of choice were so perfect. It was very spacious, and cozy as well. We also had a balcony that looked out to a wooded area which was very nice. I honestly have NO complaints about our stay here. We LOVED it. I will go back again. If you want relaxation, and quiet, and romantic time with your loved one I would def choose Abbey Inn!! Also we were very late for check in, and I just knew we were not going to be able to get our room, they were so sweet they had our key hanging up for us when we got there. This is the best place I personally have every stayed, I didn't want to leave. The hot tub in the room was also wonderful! But vacation must come to an end LOL.

My fiance and I made the choice to celebrate our wedding night at the Abbey a few months back with very little knowledge of the Inn itself or the area. I simply went by reviews and their website. I'm a pretty critical person when it comes to hotels but the Abbey far exceeded my expectations. I was nervous I wouldn't be able to find it since we were arriving so late, but the location was perfection and the directions were spot on. To my surprise, the Inn still had a staffer at the front desk and she was more than hospitable. She was eager to help us get settled in and purposed to see we had a pleasant stay. The room was beautiful. It's rare a room is exactly as displayed on the website but sure enough, this one was. We loved it. It was romantic, classy, and clean. Privacy was important to us, and we were bothered by noise or person all our entire stay. We have already looked for available openings in our schedule to allow us to visit again. I think the Abbey may become our weekend getaway 'spot.' I would highly recommend the Inn to any couple looking to get away to relax and rekindle.

A welcoming place to set as a destination. Small, intimate and lovely. I liked the simple, clean lines of the decor and the line dancing at Mike's barn was a fun time and a good workout. My only suggestion would be a table top next to the sink to place toiletries upon. Highly recommend it to anyone.

By registering online, we received the rent one night get one free deal. It was amazing. By reading the website we were completely prepared for the lack of staffing and certain amenities (Like maid service and room service) and were actually looking forward to the quiet. It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend and we plan to go back. Highly recommended for any adults seeking quiet time away from responsibilities and kids.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful two day getaway in the Peony Suite. The accommodations were very clean, comfortable and peaceful. The hot tub in the room was fabulous and we made the most of it. The patio was a great place for our afternoon cocktail. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The Inn is a short drive to the Nashville shops and eateries. Biscuits and apple butter and fried chicken at the Nashville House are a must do. We have only good thoughts of our stay and look forward to the chance to return.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are very clean and organized. It's conveniently located to downtown Nashville yet far enough away to be secluded and private. The smaller restaurants were a nice change from all the chain restaurants in our town. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to get to know and enjoy someone or to simply rekindle the sparks that brought you together.

My new hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights for a short honeymoon. Upon our arrival we were informed that the room we reserved had air conditioning problems and we were upgraded to a suite. We were both hesitant about the change (since we'd chosen the room specifically) but the suite was AMAZING! It was so nice and comfortable. The bed was great as was the hot tub! We also got an amazing value as we booked a "room" with the second night free and got this "suite" deal instead! There was a journal in our room too where couples could write about their stay which was really sweet. The breakfast buffet at the Artist's Colony add on was delicious too. Love my hubby, loved our stay, and would love to return one day!

My husband & I have been running ragged for a few months taking care of my mother who has gone into a nursing home, and his father who is 91 yrs old, and needing a lot of one on one care. We still both work jobs also. We were able to arrange a weekend away, depending on our children to step in for us. Our visit to Abbey Inn went way beyond our hopes. As we walked in, the fireplace was on, the room was lovely and inviting. The hottub was bubbling and waiting for us. I have been to places before that smelled funny, or had shoddy accomodations. NOT SO WITH ABBEY INN. Every aspect of the room and service were topnotch. We chose that area, as we had been in college at I.U. in the 70's and often hitchhiked down to the area on the weekends. Things have changed, but our memories blossomed and we had a beautiful time together. If you are seeking a simply beauty and taste without the crazy crowds & shared space. This is it. Thanks Abbey Inn.

Just last week, we spent our 1st anniversary at Abbey Inn. This was actually our 3rd stay. During our second stay, my fiance' proposed to me just on the other side of the pond waterfall. It couldn't have been more romantic. We will come back every year!

We LOVED our stay at the Abbey Inn! Hot tubs in the room are a wonderful idea! My husband and I have a goal of visiting all of the United States and I told him I'm tempted to just want to go back to the Abbey Inn instead! Hopefully we can find places similar in other states but we would definitely go back for a visit! The rooms are fresh, clean, decorated modernly, relaxing, and very comfortable. I felt very much at home. We stayed in the Lilac Room and the Honeysuckle room. Both were absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We went during the week to take advantage of the buy one night get one night free. The Customer Service was wonderful! Our first room, the Lilac Room, the hot tub did start making an annoying clicking noise and my husband knew it would disturb his sleep. Since they had other rooms available (another perk for going during the week) she offered us a different room. We were tempted to stay in the Lilac room b/c I LOVED the decor, and you could see the TV from the hot tub (we watched a movie from the hot tub, so so fun!). But once we heard how quiet the other hot tub was the decision was pretty obvious. And the room was a major upgrade at no cost. But don't be discouraged from the smaller room, we really were sad to leave that one. The lady at the front desk was so gracious about it and completely understood. The grounds at Abbey Inn are absolutely beautiful as well. We didn't venture out too much in our two day stay but who needs to leave when you have such a nice room! We were celebrating our four year wedding anniversary and it was our first trip we've taken just the two of us since our honeymoon - Abbey Inn did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend you visit! Thanks Abbey Inn for a romantic and relaxing trip!

Our recent stay (August 2011) in the Sweetheart Cabin was one of the most relaxing vacations we've taken in a while. We were able to check in late, check out early, and were never bothered by anyone. We only met a staff member upon check-in, but they checked us in quickly and were very nice. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The only complaint we had was that we found the checkout policy/procedures to be a little excessive for the amount of money we paid per night (i.e., must strip sheets off bed, sweep floors, etc.). Overall it is a nice place to get away from everything and enjoy the surrounding state parks.

While somehwat cynical about the whole weekend getaway idea, we really enjoyed our stay at the Abby Inn, and we found the “Forget-Me-Not” room was an ideal choice for us. It was very roomy and well kept. What we found to be the best part was the seclusion made for a nice quiet weekend, and we definitely needed more romantic time from the daily hustle and bustle. While a bit concerned with the heat index, the air conditioned shops in Nashville made the day comfortable. We really enjoyed the friendliness of the shop owners, because they sat down with us and shared their knowledge of the area. We got some great tips on restaurants that we took advantage of. We also picked up some items to remind us of our visit. This was a great change from WalMart. The friendly atmosphere of Nashville seemed to make all of the visitors pleasant, and we found ourselves chatting with others after we saw them in several shops. The fact that we will be back, should tell others who read this that they will make a great selection for their getaway.

We had a great weekend while we were there. We had a lot of privacy and it was very quiet. However our DVD player wouldn't work (which wasn't a huge deal since I had my laptop with me) and when we flushed the toilet it was a very loud moaning noise that lasted a few minutes. Agagin, not a huge deal but if you have to go in the middle of the night you may not want to wake up your partner... Other than those two things, the room was really nice and pretty, the hot tub was nice and clean. We really enjoyed our time there!

My husband and I had our honeymoon at the Abby Inn. The rooms were very nice i loved it and can't wait to go back. I loved how quiet and relaxing the whole atmosphere was. The service was great. the books say that they wont "make up" your room each morning but our cleaning girls did make our bed and mop up any water on floor. The value!!!! cant pass up stay one night get the second free and have a hot tub!! awesome!! it kind of stinks that you have to leave hotel for breakfast but the artist colony breakfast buffet 2 people for $6 cant beat that and it was good food. it also gives you a little reason to go visit town. the only down side that we found during our stay was that there isnt a microwave anywhere for the guests to use. we brought popcorn to watch with the movies provided and we couldnt eat it. over all it is a great stay and I can't wait to return.

It was a great get away from our everyday life. Peaceful relaxing and very very enjoyable. The town and the people are so welcoming and easy to enjoy. I hope we can afford to return at least yearly if not more, we picked this radomly to get away for a few days and we hit the jackpot !

Staying midweek allows one to get two nights for the price of one--good value for this level of room. There isn't someone at the front desk very often, so anyone with lots of questions and need of service will be disappointed. We also had a DVD player that didn't work (we were offered a change of room but had already been settled for one night and didn't want to change). Good access is available to Bloomington as well (about 20 minutes) where there is much more to see and do on a hot day than hanging out in Nashville.

Very nice, clean comfortable room. DVD player did not work and replacement did not either. No individual temp controls in the rooms, so if you like 72 degrees, you'll be fine. Skip the breakfast offer and eat at the Artist's Colony (better food and value). Very private.

The facilty and our room was very nice with great amenities. The proximity to Brown County State Park and Nashville shopping district was very convenient. The facility is very quaint and clean, lovely place to visit as a couple looking for a short-term trip in the area or a night away from home. We married at the Inn and enjoyed our very small private ceremony.

My husband and I decided to take a few days to celebrate our 5 year anniversary by going out of town, and we decided that Brown County was far enough away to be "on vacation" yet close enough to be able to drive. Our stay at the Abbey Inn was incredible. The room was gorgeous - we even took note of the wall color and decor and plan on re-creating the look in our own master bedroom at home. The Jacuzzi tub was really relaxing and the movie selection was good. There were several that we hadn't seen before and we were actually able to agree on a few to watch :) We hardly saw anyone the three days/two nights that we were there - and apparently there was a wedding onsite. It was very peaceful...we had our own private balcony that looked out over the woods, and overall the stay was great. One concern we did have: the refrigerator didn't stay cold which we mentioned to the staff upon checkout. It didn't really affect our stay at all, although it would have been nice to be able to bring leftovers back to the Inn after dinner. All in all though, it was a great stay, and we will definitely be going back!

Chose to stay here after staying before. Enjoy the comfort, cleanliness, and privacy of the room. We really like the location. It is nice to go out in the evening and walk around the grounds for a short walk for some outside time together. We will most likely be staying again.

This was our third stay at the Abbey Inn and our first in the Wisteria Room. The room was clean, but small. Bathroom comode door opened straight into hot tub. Room was smaller than expected. Hope to come back and stay in a larger room next time. This room was not worth $200 for a night.

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend when we stayed. We had a little rain but nothing compared to what we had had the past couple of weeks. Even though it was off of hwy 46, the cabin was very peaceful as were the surroundings. We were amazed at nice everything was inside and plenty of towels were supplied. Sitting outside in the hot tub on the cool evenings was great as well. Thanks so much for such a wonderful place, we will be back again!

We stayed in this suite for our 10th Anniversary and it was just what we needed! We loved everything about this suite, especially that it was just so relaxing. The hot tub was our favorite part about our stay....so relaxing and tranquil (the view out of the windows was great during the day). We definitely want to come back and stay for another anniversary in the future! There were only two things that could have been better but wouldn't keep me from coming back again: 1. There could be more space around the sink area in the bathroom to lay out your toiletries/curling iron/hair dryer 2. It would be nice if they had a connection to a nice restaurant that would deliver meals sort of like "room service". Overall, this was such a great get-away for me and my husband! We had the best Anniversary ever!!

This is our 2nd trip to the Inn. My husband and I do enjoy it. We stayed in the Dogwood room both times. The room has a nice king size bed and a full size hot tub. It has a small flat screen with DVD player and an dorm size refrigerator. The private balcony is small, but has a nice view of the woods and pond. Don't forget your fishing poles during your stay. We caught several bass a day in the pond. My husband likes to fish so, I would bring my chair to the pond with a good book (I fished a little too.). Only complaint is there is terrible communication prior to booking the Inn. I called and email with questions and never got a return call or email back. Once we checked Inn the staff is very polite and attentive.

My husband And I needed a quiet and relaxing get-a-way. The Abbey Inn provided that for us. We stayed in the Ivy Solarium Suite. It was clean and tastefully decorated. We loved the private hot tub! I liked the fact the hot tub in this particular suite is in a separate room. The kitchenette was a nice plus. We utilized the Abbey Inn's breakfast buffet package - this was located at a separate location in Nashville (only minutes away). The selection and taste of the food was good. The staff at both the Abbey Inn and the Artist's Colony were friendly and helpful. We felt this deal was a good value. Overall we are very pleased with our experience. We have recommended the Abbey Inn to our family and friends. We will return!

My husband and I were looking for the perfect place to get away from it all and we found it at Abbey Inn. Our 3 nights in the Honeysukle Suite was perfect. We loved the whole experience!!! The room was all we had hoped for...especially the hot tub!!! My husband would have packed it up and brought it home with us if he could have. The only problem we encountered was a toliet that either ran all the time or the tank would not fill if you didn't remeber to jiggle the handle. This was only a very minor inconvience to us and we made sure to let the staff know for future guest. We will most definitely be going back to Abbey Inn and hopefully will have the oppurtunity to stay in the Honeysuckle Suite again!!!

The Abbey Inn is a lovely, private retreat. We probably saw only two other guests during our stay! If you happen to arrive late like we did, just pick up your room info on a board in the lobby. That's a little different, but it worked out ok. Very clean rooms with a comfortable bed and nice hot tub. The maid does not make up the room with new towels, empty trash, etc. unless you request it specifically. Something to consider beforehand if you go. The reason I put unsatisfactory for "dining" is because there is no dining on the premises. This should really be termed as "not applicable." Otherwise, everything was great!

We had a great room! We would recommend this to anyone and everyone! I think we are going to go back in a couple months!
3.8 on February 25, 2011
The room was great. The stay was everything we expected, what a great place for a weekend getaway. The only thing that we did notice was that the hot tub seemed like it wasnt quite as clean as it could have been. There were dried water spots all over the outside of the tub as if it wasnt cleaned off after the last stay and we noticed that the water had a hint of a smell. Hot tubs are one thing that you want to KNOW are clean when you go somewhere and we weren't completely comfortable that it was as clean as it should have been.

We loved the abbey Inn! It was wonderful! We love it! We will definatley be coming back the only negative was nothing in the vending machines and no water avaliable to buy. We loved the hot tub and privacy!

I surprised my wife with a night at the Abbey-Inn and already we can't wait to plan our trip to return. It was only an hour and a half away from our house but we felt so removed from our everyday stress with jobs and life. We only saw one person (the lady that checked us in) the entire stay which made us feel completely secluded and able to enjoy a romantic evening. I would recommend trying the Abbey-Inn for sure. The hot tub in the room is an added bonus as well!

We return to the Abbey Inn every February for a post-Valentine's Day getaway. It's a quiet, out of the way kind of place and has a somewhat isolated feel - even more so during the off-season. The rooms are nice and spacious, with lots of amenities including a hot tub in many of them. Beds are large and comfortable though the pillows could be softer. Everything is always spotlessly clean. Decor is very nice and tasteful following a redecoration some years ago (not that it wasn't before!). The Inn itself doesn't serve meals but with easy access to nearby Nashville and places like The Daily Grind and The Artist's Colony, that's not a problem. Overall we love staying here and plan to do so again.

We were able to get away from it all and relax in the Ivy Suite. Really like the decor in this suite. Suprised by the rose petals and hershey kisses on the bed when we arrived.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Abby Inn in brown county, IN. We had the Peony Room suite. The only issue was not having local nice dining places to go to thats close. We had to drive to Bloomington for that. Other than that we loved every bit of it. Thanks- Michelle and Ryan (Indianapolis)

This was my first time at Abbey Inn and I was very pleased! We actually booked our wedding for the gazebo this fall and staying our first night as husband and wife at the Abbey Inn.

We just returned from our second anniversary trip and it couldn't have gone any better. We didn't see any other guests and it was extremely quiet. I can't wait for next year to stay in a different room. Our first year we stayed in the Peony and this year we were in the Magnolia. I liked the way the Magnolia was set up a little better, but both rooms were wonderful!

This was our weekend getaway and i was impressed with our room...the hot tub was ready for us when we arrived and not once did we get disturbed when we had our "do not disturb" sign up...I will be coming back again as this was the perfect weekend for me and my fiance to re-connect. Just 2-3 minutes from downtown Nashville. We were informed that we may be greeted by ladybugs and we were, but they stayed in the hottub room which was a different room then ours and they fully informed us that this may occur so that was really nice of them. Overall i love this place and will keeping going back for years to come!

It was a great evening, the perfect little get away. Very peaceful and romantic! We live in a very fast paced world these days and it was nice to relax. The fact there was no phones, even helped us to shut cell phones off and enjoy our time together, which lets face it.. doesnt happen very often for anyone anymore!! Abbey-Inn gets 5 stars from us and will become a tradition!

Our stay was very pleasant, quiet and private. We were close to everything and enjoyed the winter surroundings.
4.6 on January 29, 2011
Very accessible, gives you the feeling of personalized services. The staff members are kind and helpful. The only con is have and which should be considered in the managements long term plans is to seek to expand the shower-room... my personal opinion is, the one in my room almost made me feel claustrophobia (it was a suite). All in all i would recommend Abbey Inn to my friends and i look forward to another cosy weekend.... Keep up the good work.

The Abbey Inn gets better everytime we stay and after 3 amazing experiences I don't know how it can get much better! Thanks so much Abbey Inn!

I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a day or two away.. it is at a perfect location, close to Brown county state park and Nashville.. We were there for a weekend but had a very relaxing and refreshing time... the staff here is excellent and very co-operative. In all, great experience!!

Abbey Inn is a steal. Buy one night, get a second free? Unbelievable value. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to get away for a night or two. The Abbey Inn provides great service but ensures that you have the privacy you'll want.

The room was clean as expected. The hot tub was okay, but had a strange order. For the most part, the staff was friendly enough, and they had a selection of DVDs to watch free. However, a big draw back was the refrigerator in the room. The appliance was plugged and seemed to work. After waking the next day and checking the food, I discovered the appliance was not keeping the food cold. The food had to be discarded. After telling the staff, they did nothing but apologize. I will not return.

The inn exceeded our expectations by far. The whirlpool was excellent and soothing. The rooms were exquisitely decorated and the atmosphere was both peaceful and refreshing. It was a place of rest and renewed vision. I would recommend this place to anyone who truly wants to get away from it all and come back ready to go again.

I enjoyed the hottub in our room. The weekend special was great. We stayed on a Sunday night and got Monday free and a free breakfast at the Artist Colony. The folks in town were very friendly. The only distractor of the "tulip room" were the ladybugs that flew around the lights.

We stayed in the Peony Room last weekend. The room was absolutely beautiful! We were so impressed that we've already recommended the Abbey Inn to friends! The room was fantaistic. Decent movie selection in addition to cable. Our stay at Abbey Inn was better than expected. Good price for private hot tub and king size bed. They have an agreement with another inn for a breakfast buffet at an small additionaL cost. The buffet was ok but the eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, ect. was not hot, although acceptable for the price.
5 on December 01, 2010
The trip exceeded our expectations completely. The room was nice and the privacy was perfect. The fireplace created warmth that was overwhelming. The hottub was an oasis of love. We would love to return again and again.

I booked the Wisteria room as the special place for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We walked in and were definitely pleased that the room was as nice in person as it was in the photos. The hot tub was the nicest we'd ever been in -- I wish we could have enjoyed it more but it was SO hot in the room and there was no thermostat? We tried opening the windows to cool down but ended up being hot for most of the night. That doesn't make for good sleeping, even if the bed is comfy! Mental note for next time - BRING FANS!
2.8 on November 21, 2010
My husband and I had a very nice one night stay, however, we thought the cost was a bit high. It would have been nice to have some more towels in the room and the hot tub noise was a little bit difficult to ignore when trying to fall asleep. On the other hand, the room was clean and was saw very few other people.

My husband and I stayed at the Abbey Inn on our 4th anniversary for 2 days and took advantage of the free night (since we booked through the week). We enjoyed everything about our stay. Everything was very clean, quiet, and relaxing. We really enjoyed the hot tub in our room. I'm sure we will be back to check out another room in the future! Thanks Abbey Inn for making our 4 anniversary special!

my girlfriend and myself wanted to just get away for the weekend. i found the abbey-inn in nashville indiana. when we got there WOW the hottub was ready the room was clean the service was awesome. the only small small problem was the toilet had a small leak on the side. the staff took care of it first thing in the morning. i plan on doing many weekend stays in at the abbey inn through out the next year.

Very Nice and private atmosphere. Close to town. Very quiet & and peacefull, A great romantic getaway. Only recommendation would be for a small fridge in the rooms. I'm sure the suites have one, but it would be nice to have in the standar rooms.

We spent the weekend at the Abbey Inn during the peak fall season. It was absolutely beautiful! Our room had a balcony with a view of the adjoing woodland. Spectacular! We found the room to be everything we expected. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the hot tub took out all the kinks from our trip to the Inn. There is no dining at the inn, so wasn't sure how to rate that on this form. I did have one small complaint, however. I purchased a "Romance Package" with my reservation. It turned out to be a small basket with some fruit, Famous Amos cookies, and Dove chocolate - a little less than I expected for the $50 price. I would highly recommend this inn to any visitor, but would bring my own "Romance Package" next time.
4.2 on November 01, 2010
The Inn is very charming, quiet and private. Our room was clean and romantic. We also liked where the Inn is, the State park one way and Nashville the other, very close, but away from the business. Will stay here again.

We stayed in the Peach room and the room was good but the couch needs to be replaced. When you sat on the couch you sank into it and it was hard to get out of it. Every thing else was good. It was a quite room after every one was settled because our room was by the movies and the check in.

We did not utilize any services and so it met my expectations. The staff I did speak with was very helpful and nice. The restaurant that the breakfast coupons were for met my expectations. Their service was good and the food was good. The price of the breakfast buffet was excellent. Our room was peaceful and the bed was very comfortable. I wish there had been more towels already in the room since we did not have our room serviced. Our stay was lovely overall.
3.4 on October 08, 2010
I had the opportunity to stay in the Fern Solarium Suite for a weekend getaway. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. Don't expect a lot of service, as the point of this establishment is not to wait on you, but for you to enjoy others company without interruption. A basic kitchenette rounded out a fairly well appointed room that appeared to have been more recently remodeled. Basic utensils and small table for two (including a cork screw) were nice touches. The room was large and the hot tub was in a separate area that could be closed off of the main room - a huge plus so you don't have to listen to the hot tub all night long. Basic housekeeping (linens, towels, garbage, etc.) and while I tend to leave a place cleaner than I found it - the definitely did there part. A great place for a romantic getaway. Not sure why they rate dining for this location - there is no food service. I would also recommend: Bushman Brewhouse, Brown County Winery and a little restaurant in Gnaw Bone that's name escapes me - opposite from the winery, but the ribs fall of the bone...

The Abbey Inn was a nice place. However there were some issues with our room. Hardly any water pressure because the seal on the showerhead was broke, clocks in the room did not work, walls were very thin you could hear others around you. Pictures showed that the room would look at this beautiful woods and had a scenic view, however our room was right by the front door and if you went to the back of the Inn there was not a great view there either. We wanted to watch a couple movies but the DVDs we picked did not work and the coke machine did not work. Breakfest at the artist colony was good. However we asked for a refill on drinks and the orange juice was $3.25 when our breakfest on only cost $6 to begin with. I believe that is a little high for a drink when you are getting a buffet breakfest.

My wife and I stayed at Abbey Inn for our 37th anniversary. We found it to be just what we desired. Our ratings for the Inn were not as high as some might have put because our expectations were high. Abbey Inn met our expectations in every way. The setting was very peaceful, the rooms were clean, warm and inviting, the hot tub was the most comfortable I've ever been in. I have no problem endorsing with a high recommendation Abbey Inn.

We wanted to find somewhere that was quiet and romantic for our 10 year anniversary, and that is just what we got at the Abbey Inn. The room was so nice, we were really impressed. We really liked the in-room hot tub and the privacy. Also, it is really close the all of the little shops which we loved! I have already been recomending the Abbey Inn to others and I'm sure we will be returning.

We were looking for a quite, scenic and peaceful place to stay. We found that is this place. The outlay of the rooms along with the color scheme of the room was really relaxing. We enjoyed the shops and restuarants of Nashville. Unique Inn, peaceful countryside and the beauty of the area was just what we desired and you delivered.

The Abbey Inn was a secluded, honeymoon getaway! We did not see another soul, yet felt safe. It was romantic and provided a convenient place to stay for visiting other sites in the area. We were able to get a "book one night, and one night free" which I think was a good deal.
4.6 on August 22, 2010
We went for a weekend getaway. It was very cute and relaxing there. The rooms were clean and the hot tubs were hot. The breakfast downtown was simple and very good. We would go back.
2.8 on August 14, 2010
We had a good stay at the Abbey Inn. It was really about what we expected, just wasn't the true Brown County feel that we prefer. It was very clean, loved the sound of chirping birds when we came in and the fire place on - very nice touch. The refridgerator didn't work and the hot tub was pretty loud in the night, but I don't know that there's anything that can be done about the hot tub. The room was a little cramped compared to what we are used to in BC. Again though - it was very nice and we would recommend it for someone that doesn't want the cabin or normal hotel feel. We just prefer a cabin or more "authentic" place when we stay in BC. The only reason the value is ranked below average is because it cost quite a bit more than equally nice places we've stayed, but had far less room.

When selecting lodging,we wanted somewhere quiet, private, and a great location......The Abbey Inn was all of that.It had a great atmosphere,it was very peaceful, and it had a great location (nestled in the side of a woods only a short drive out of Nashville). It's rates were reasonable for the artistic/European feel of the Inn.The only DOWNSIDE was the $300 deposit that they charge for the rooms.I've stayed at MUCH nicer locations and never had to have any deposit down. That was the only bad thing about the Abbey Inn.We'll try the Hilltop Lodge and Suites next time we go down.

We stayed at the Abbey Inn for our 6 year anniversary weekend. The room was very clean and relaxing. The hot tub was a perfect tool for relaxing in the room. The property was very private and quite. The only complaint was the price. It was kind of expensive for staying two nights on “off peak” season (July). Our bill for a two night stay was over $430. For a special occasion it was nice but we would not stay there again unless there was a special on rooms.

We needed that special time together and this was the perfect place! We stayed in the Lilac Room and were very impressed. It was clean and quiet. Each evening we would take a stroll around the pond and saw the largest fish! The bed was THE most comfortable we've slept in, the pillows were perfect, the towels were thick and the comforter was obviously quality. We are looking forward to returning and have let everyone know how much we enjoyed our stay. Thanks for making this time incredible!

Room was very nice. Comfortable bed, in-room whirlpool was great, and eveything was very clean. The whole place was very romatic. We paid $6/day extra for breakfast for 2 at the Artist Colony. Its about 1 1/2 miles away, so driving is a must, and parking on the weekend may be an issue. The buffet was nice but somewhat limited. Overall, we had a great couple of days, and would definitely stay at the Abbey Inn again.

We loved our stay at the Abbey Inn. The rooms were clean and the staff was great. Wonderful, quiet beautiful room. Great if you want some alone time. The hot tub in the room was great, although it was a little cold and no one was available to help adjust it. No one returned a call when we left a message with the number they gave us. Breakfast was $6.00 for two. I think for the $200 we paid for the room they could probably go ahead and include the breakfast. :) Over all it is a beautiful quiet place to relax.

We had a wonderful stay at Abbey Inn. It was adult only. It was quiet, romantic, and relaxing, yet close to the town of Nashville, IN, so we could visit the shops and activities. We had a kitchenette and it was equiped with our needs, but the dining was up to us. There was a grocery close by. Dining in the area was enjoyable. The hot tub was wonderful, very private. Perfect for the two of us. We hope to return again.

The Abbey Inn is a great place for peace & quiet, but we felt some renovations to the outside could be done. The inside is beautiful, however. The discount breakfast price was a very good deal, however we did not enjoy the food very much. The inn is very clean and although we were not overly impressed with anything, we have friends who are return visitors because it made quite the impression on them.

My wife and I stayed in the Peach Blossom Room for our 5th anniversary. It was such a nice location compared to our busy lives. The whole place was peaceful and beautiful. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the room. It isn't what I would call a high class hotel, but it was very nice. My only complaint was the shower. Something was wrong with the shower valve. It was very very hot or very cold with only a small turn of the valve. I suspect the spool inside is sticking.

The peach room we booked, the lobby, hallways and grounds were all clean and well kept. We especially liked the privacy and quiet. We did feel a little like a D.I.Y. guest as after 6 p.m. the office was empty and you were on your own. We appreciate that this Inn is trying to be green and conserve but a shower that is so wimpy is not a luxury. We purchased breakfast buffet tickets good for The Artist Colony Restaurant. The price was very good and the breakfast ok but the Inns website listed alot more food. We were somewhat disappointed and went somewhere else our second morning. I'm not sure if the Inn listed the breakfast as bigger or if the restaurant cut back but it should be fixed on the website. We used the BOGO special for the inn and it was worth that but I wouldn't want to pay that price for one night. We stayed at The Biltmore in Asheville, N.C. for less and it is DELUXE! We love Nashville and usually camp at the park so this was a nice adult only private & quiet experience we enjoyed.

I appreciate the fact that our stay was quiet and that the staff valued our privacy. We were able to relax and enjoy the in-the-room hot tube and enjoyed watching some movies that were available for check out free of charge. We also enjoyed the attractions that were nearby (including shopping in Nashville and hiking and swimming in the state park). The Inn does not provide any restaurant on site so meals had to be eaten in town (there was a good variety of options not too far away). The rooms did not provide a microwave or much room for unpacking clothes - if you are planning to stay for more than one night this could prove to be a little inconvenient for "long term" guests. Only problem that we really encountered was the shower would only give out extremely hot or cold water. We had a difficult time getting to where we could have a comfortable shower. We reported this problem but it was not fixed while we stayed there. Hopefully this has been fixed by now. Even with this problem we would recommend this place for couples looking for a quiet place to renew their relationship.

We only stayed one night and that is what we requested. Most reservations elsewhere required a two night stay. We were only passing through and it exceeded our hopes. We will stay again.

Everything was great. Room was very clean and very nice. Service was great and fast. There was no remote for the DVD player in the room and within minutes of telling the front desk we had a remote in hand. We're used to sleeping on a softer mattress at home so the mattress in the room was too hard/firm for us personally. Overall, it's a great place to relax for a getaway.

My husband and I stayed at the Abbey Inn for our 5th Anniversary. It was wonderful! The room was extremely clean and put together nicely. We only saw one other couple the whole time we were there, and that was as we were leaving.... and they were totally booked! They've taken those few extra measures to maintain the privacy that you want while having a romantic night out!

My husband & I decided to celebrate our 2 year anniversary at Abbey Inn. Abbey Inn was exactly what we were looking for. We both work fulltime, have 2 kids & 2 dogs. So we wanted somewhere we could escape, unwind & relax all in a romantic environment. This place was very quiet and allowed us to do just that. We really enjoyed the relaxing hot tub in the room and the feel that we were the only people in the whole place. Every one in Brown County was also very nice and made us feel very welcomed there. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a nice quiet romantic time with your mate. However, if you are a busy bee and are looking for lots to do this is not the place for you.

At first glance you wonder what you've gotten yourself into. The front and parking area does not make this look like a nice inn - which it is. Once you get throught the courtyard and in the front door you will appreciate your choice. The rooms are great, you can play old board games and watch old movies, and the rooms are well equipped. We hardly saw or heard another guest, and the inn is run with minimal staffing. This makes it very quiet. Breakfast is a real deal at $3 a person, arranged in a quaint downtown B&B. Stay 2 nights for the best value. Don't go for the fishing - the hottubs and quiet are the selling points.

The rooms were very beautiful, and this was a nice, private weekend getaway location for my husband and I. However, the bed was very uncomfortable, and neither of us got more than a couple hours of sleep--which resulted in both of us being very tired for our planned day in Nashville. Everything in the rooms was well prepared for our stay, and the hot tub was a nice way to relax. The best part was probably the delicious breakfast--very tasty, and very good service. I don't think we will probably be back. We had hoped to splurge a little to make sure we had a nice private, restful stay-- and for the price, it was not worth the cost in our opinion.

We went to the Abbey Inn for our honeymoon. It was so romantic. Everything about the Abbey Inn was great! The pond in the back was very serene and just wonderful! We visited Nashville and it's many shops. Everyone there was so friendly! I'm sure we will be going back! It was very relaxing and romantic!! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!!!! Room looked different than what we saw on the website. Wysteria room is ALL open - definitely no room for privacy. Bathroom (toilet only) was very small. A big person would not fit in there with the door closed. Room was very clean. Breakfast was available in Nashville (at the Artist's Colony) and was pretty good. Would probably stay again, but in a suite upstairs instead to avoid the noise at the entryway.

Sweetheart cabin was fantastic, except, we were not expecting to have to sweep, clean up, and take the sheets off the bed prior to leaving. Thought this would be included in the price you pay. Loved our stayed. We were looking for a quite getaway and enjoyed out time there. We will be revisiting Abby Inn again in the future. The only problem we see is the room tends to get uncomfortably warm in the afternoon because of the hottub. The temperature outside was cool enough not have the fireplace on but not cool enough of to run the air conditioning. If we had a thermastat in our room we would of ran the air conditioning because of the heat the hot tub was giving off. This may not be a problem when the air conditioning is set but with out having the control it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. I would recommend Abbey Inn to anyone looking for a quite, relaxing getaway with out breaking the bank.

We had a great time at the Abbey Inn. We stayed in the Dogwood room and it was large enough to fit our needs. It was neat and clean and had a huge hot tub. There was a nice balcony that over looked the pond that you were allowed to fish in. This is a great Inn. They do not serve breakfast, but there are plenty of restaurants close by. They do allow you to borrow DVD's to watch in your room.

my wife & i recently stayed at the abbey inn due to a gift certificate we received from the inn for our visit last year. on our last visit, our hot tub did not work and the last thing we wanted to hear on our rare, romantic weekend get-a-way was, "open the panel on the side...". this visit was welcomed with a nicely working hot tub. however, the first thing i decided to do once in the ground floor / courtyard facing room was to close the drapes. the rods were like dominoes: one would collapse, then fixing that one, another would collapse. we did visit during the first visit of april, but it would be nice if something was done to the courtyard to beautify it. instead, we were offered a view "abandonment." the place has great potential, but its got a ways to go. my wife and i don't plan on going back.

I recently stayed 2 nights at the Abbey Inn with my girlfriend. We had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the Abbey Inn. It's in a quiet and secluded location, but yet still only a 5 minute drive to Nashville and the West Entrance to Brown County State Park. Nashville is full of unique shops and eateries and Brown County has plenty of hiking, horseback riding, lookout points, etc. We only saw the Abbey Inn staff twice- at check-in and at check-out. We checked in, put the "do not disturb" sign on the door and enjoyed 3 days away from the big city (Cincinnati) to ourselves. The suites have their own private hot tub which was very relaxing after a long hike in the park. The entire unit was very clean and stocked with everything except plates (had silverware, cups, coffee, soap, shampoo, towels, paper towels, etc). There is no breakfast (it's a getaway, not a hotel!) or food options other than a vending machine but that just adds to the privacy of the visit (as mentioned before, only saw the staff twice). We enjoyed eating in Nashville and Bloomington and also buying some groceries at IGA and packing a picnic for the park. This was our first visit to the Abbey Inn and it was perfect if you're looking to get away from all the noise and commotion of the city life. I would highly recommend the Abbey Inn and will look forward to returning soon.

My wife and I stayed at the Abbey for our 11th anniversary. We chose the Honeysuckle Suite and it was AMAZING! It was one of the best weekends we've ever had! The Abbey itself was incredible. Peace, serenity, quiet, comfort, hottub-in-the-room....what else can you say! Even the kitchen was neatly stocked with two of everything! It was a great time and we will definately be back this year hopefully in the fall. A must is the short drive to the Story Inn for dinner! This is the perfect lover's getaway with the food, shopping, and wineries!

My wife and I stayed at the Abbey Inn for her 30th birthday. We very much enjoyed being upgraded to the suite, which is very beautiful. With a location you cannot beat from the shops in Nashville, it really is a great experience. The only concern we had is the number of towels available for use. With using the hot tub, trying to keep the floor dry from the hot tub, and showering the next morning it did not seem convienient with the number of towels. A very good experience overall!

Abbey Inn was a wonderful, affordable honeymoon, that was close to home (3 hour drive). The rooms were exceptional, clean and large. The only thing I would change would be the lighting behind the Inn, the back entrances were very dark at night and could be updated on the patios. We didn't want to leave, but can't wait to go back during a different season.

My husband and I spent 2 days in the Forget-Me-Not Suite. We loved it and could not recommend it more. Everything was perfect and could not have been cleaner. The room temperature was perfect, as was the hot tub that was very quite through out the night. While we saw cars parked in the parking lot we heard NO ONE! This suite is huge and I can't believe they don't advertise the WALK IN CLOSET. It's great to not have to look at your luggage and to be able to put all your clothes away. We could not have asked for a better stay and we'll be back!

We loved staying here at the Abbey Inn and could not of asked for a more relaxing quiet time together, somewhere to just get away from it all. Two words, LOVED IT. Thank you to the staff at Abbey Inn for making this a memorable and enjoyable time. Mrs. Martin

Words cannot express how amazing the Abbey Inn is. My husband and I were in need of a little vacation and were on a limited budget. After searching around the local towns, we found that for only twenty more dollars a night, we could stay at the Abbey Inn. When we went to check in, we were shocked by an upgrade to our room at no cost to us! Walking into our room was equally as amazing as it had a beautiful solarium and hot tub. Our room was fastidiously cleaned (I'm a neat freak) and the windows everywhere were just heavenly! After five minutes of awe, my husband and I decided to get into the hot tub--it was AMAZING! Just gazing out the window into the trees and the gazebo in the back was enough to melt all our stress away. The fireplace was a neat attraction to the room and I really appreciate all of the "natural" perks the room offered. They recycle almost everything, use dispensers for shampoo and conditioner, thus aiding the environment and saving those little plastic bottles from going into landfills, and offered superb, natural lighting. We slept heavenly and didn't want to go the next day. Another addition to the Abbey Inn which makes it unique is the journal that has been kept in that room for four years. Reading through all the memories of everyone else just reiterated that the room we were staying in was a magical place. Oh yeah, I forgot while we were getting ready for bed, my husband spied three deer out our kitchen window. We sat there for nearly two hours watching them graze and come so near to the window, we could have thrown a sock and hit them! It's also near Brown County State Park (not even five minutes away) which was a perfect addition to our magical morning! I think, no matter what season, the Abbey Inn is one of the best places I've ever stayed in (and my husband and I travel A LOT!). Kudos to you, Abbey Inn for a laudable establishment. We WILL return...

Our room was beautiful, a little on the chilly side for January. The front desk gal was friendly but not really helpful. It was nice and quiet but it was a little under staffed. The hot tub wasn't hot, but the note in the room said if it's not hot let us know, but there was no one to let know as the staff all leave at 6pm! The fireplace was pretty but generated no heat. The room was well stocked with towels and fridge and coffee bar. It was a great spot and we would go back, but do yourself a favor and check the hot tub temp right away! Before the staff leaves.

We had a great time, the atmosphere was very private as advertised and the room was very clean and well kept. On my review I put that the dining met my expectations. That's because we the Abbey does not have a dining facility. But, we did get the breakfast package and the price was well worth the breakfast we had. The rooms at the Abbey Inn are set up very nice and are just what you see on the website. All in all, we had a wonderful time and will probably return in the future if the opportunity arises. Thanks Abbey Inn for a wonderful stay and a romantic weekend.

Town was nice, but overall, prices were alittle high.

There was no dining at the inn, but we knew that when we reserved. The breakfast coupon we purchased at the time of reservation for a restaurant in town was a good deal. They also provided menus for several near-by restaurants. We stayed two weeknights, and it was buy one/get one free, so that was an excellent value and the deciding factor for us staying here. Would go back again and would not hesitate to recommend Abbey Inn--quiet, private, relaxing.

we stayed in apple cabin and loved the cabin, we were not impressed with the service, they were very hard to get a hold of and did not offer much at all in the way of service, we had to go out of our way to get extra pillows and blankets which were in the cabin but they locked the 2nd bedroom so we could not get to them, we also had no idea of where to put the trash and did not have any extra trashbags in the cabin, we also did have to go out of our way to purchase shampoo that was not provided either, luckily they did provide enough toilet paper! no one ever offered to come out to the cabin to give us fresh towels or linens.

The Abbey Inn is a Get-Away. It is not about room service or dining, it is about getting away and reconnecting with yourself and loved one. You have to drive to Nashville, about 1 mile away for dining, but we knew that going in. You are not bothered by the staff, which is limited and we hardly seen anyone during our 4 day stay. We've stayed at this Inn two years in a row for our anniversary. Both times have been peaceful and romantic;) We stayed in the Lily room? The room at the top of the stairs, and we really enjoy the hot tub, and cooking for each other in the kitchenette. The beds are super comfy and let you rest better than if you were at home. They are also an eco-friendly Inn and have made several improvements to that fact! Another plus is the alarm clock/sound machine/ipod port in the bedroom!

We enjoyed our stay at the Abbey Inn in Brown County, IN. We did not stay in the room that we reserved. We actually received a FREE UPGRADE. The room that we ended up with was very nice!!!! We enjoyed the privacy the most!!!!!

The gazebo out back and chapel reminded me of my wedding day 5 years ago. Our ceremony was in a gazebo so it was a trip down memory road for us. Beautiful setting and surroundings. Thanks Abbey Inn. P.S. The rating on the dining should was low because dining is not included at the Abbey but we knew that ahead of time. They did have a director with local restuarants which was a great help.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our anniversary weekend. This weekend was our first wedding anniversary, and when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find we were upgraded to a suite, because our original room was under construction. The staff was really friendly, always attentive, but let us have our privacy. My favorite part about our weekend is how eco-friendly Abbey Inn was. Almost all of the toiletries were from Seventh Generation, and I felt so good spending my money at a place that cares about keeping the environment healthy and safe. I hope all hotels take a lesson from the Abbey Inn in how to be eco-friendly. Overall, our stay at the Abbey Inn was wonderful. We have already planned to come back again soon! Thank you for a wonderful 1st wedding anniversary for us!

The Abbey Inn exceeded our expectations. It was so quiet, quaint, and romantic--the perfect getaway for two. Everyone was very hospitable--more than happy to help you in any way. Perfect location to shopping, dining, hiking. We look forward to returning.

We stayed in the Lilac room and it was beutiful. My wife & I have stayed in many hot tub suites in our 17 years of marriage and I must say that this was one of the best. The hot tub as well as the room was well maintained. Spotless! We loved the flat screen t.v. and the availability of movies to watch right there in the Lobby. The surroundings were beautiful as they always are in the midwest in October. The local shops were great. All we needed was provided. The Abbey-Inn gave us the privacy and amenities needed and God provided my GORGEOUS Wife and the beautiful scenery. Hope to return soon!

My wife and I spent one night at the Abbey Inn in Nashville, IN. Much anticipation was in store as we were celebrating our 19th anniversary. I chose the Abbey Inn because the web site indicated seclusion, well appointed rooms with a private hot tub. I can say the place was quiet and peaceful with no sounds coming from outside our room. The room, however, was not as well kept as $195 a night would suggest. The walls were peeling with holes from where fixtures had been hanging. The wall behind the bed was tarped with some kind of drapery or comforter that we believed was covering up something we didn't want to see. The hot tub was small and had no temperature controls. The temp was set way too hot to enjoy and most of the jets were not working. The Inn didn't provide any meals but did provide a few games and DVDs for in-room viewing. Although we enjoyed ourselves, the room was not the highlight and far less than what we had expected.

The jets in the tub didn't work, they fixed it and it worked for 10 minutes, then it stopped working again, we went back to the office and they were closed. Just a little sad! Other than that we loved it.

3.2 on September 12, 2009
Very clean bathroom and bed sheets which is a major deal in hotels. Tub was great, but would recommend they not switch them on and off every hour from 11pm-8am while we are sleeping cause we were startled awake every hour when it happened and were very tired for the long drive home the next morning. Husband was glad we didn't book 2 nights cause he would have gone crazy! But nice radio clock with soothing nature sounds we had on the whole time and when our shower wouldn't drain, someone fixed it while we were at dinner and left a nice note. All together it was a great anniversary place with nice photo opp's.

The room was beautiful. The landscaping was very well manicured and lovely. The room did not feel like a hotel room. We felt as if we were in a master bedroom. We will definately stay at the Abbey Inn in the future. Our only complaint was the bed was slightly uncomfortable to sleep in. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We stayed at Abbey Inn for our 26 anniversary. The room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the atmosphere and shopping/walking in Brown County. The problem we had was all night we could hear the people above us walking around. And the room next to us was a sick man who blew his nose and sneezed all night. None of which is Abbey's fault but they advertise "you won't know anyone else is around." We felt a little like they were in the room with us.

Our goal was a few days of peace and relaxation in a quiet setting and we got that and more at the Abbey Inn. The privacy of a hot tub in our room was wonderful!
3.8 on August 18, 2009
Our room was very romantic and clean...however, there was a boil water order for the 2 days we were there. A few bottles of complimentary water would have been nice and also a way for them to provide guests with ice. We had to go to the store when we arrived. The Hot Tub's jets weren't running as we thought they should either. But all in all we had a very relaxing stay the inn was extreemly quiet and secluded. Our room overlooked 2 gardens and they were beautiful!

The SweetHeart Cabin we stayed in was absolutly amazing. Very clean and smelled wonderful. Comfortable furniture and bed with lots of space. Lots of privacy and a huge front porch and great fire pit out back. Also the hot tub and sauna were dreams come ture. Also very close to Nashville Indiana and Brown county State Park so there is plenty to do. We plan on returning every year for our anaversery.

The Abbey Inn is easy to get to, just outside of Nashville. The room was spacious and clean. I really like how the rooms are situated, it makes it so that you hardly ever see the other guest and the room itself is very quite. On the downside, the Hot tub was set at a lower temp than I liked and the controls where locked out. No HBO or showtime, although they had a decent selection of DVD's available. The biggest downside is the price. At a couple hundred dollars a night, I would have liked a larger TV in the room, a premium movie channel, a nicer hot tub and a breakfast bar. That being said the Abbey Inn's price is comparable to other suites and cabins in the Area. All and all it was a good experience and I may stay again.

The layout of the lodge and its facilities met our requirements/needs as a family - having major appliances and a fully equipped kitchen made our stay very comfortable. The lodge's layout was very well done with the openness of the loft and cozy decor. The following our some suggestions to improve the lodge: new lid for hot tub, remove/clean hot tub (it was gritty due to use and the hard water), fix the faucets in the main level bathroom (the sink's faucet should turn the correct direction and the shower head the is 'bagged' needs to be closed properly), & the XBOX did not have the proper cable to use it watch DVDs. Some other ideas that would help is paint the worn areas on the walls, put the oven in the kitchen and not the pantry, and flowers on the porches/grounds.

This was our first time staying at Abbey Inn. We stayed in the Sweetheart Cabin. It was adorable. So clean, neat, and tidy. They had everything we needed in the kitchen as far as dishes and cooking utensils. Pleanty of towels and wash clothes. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful and relaxing. The outside firepit was thoughtfully surrounded by pea gravel incase of muddy weather. We locked our selves out the first night and Abbey Inn came directly to our rescue and unlocked the door. The lady was very friendly and laughed about it and made us feel more at ease than rediculous for locking ourselves out of our cabin. The best part was we could take our dog Rudy with us. He enjoyed it too! They even had a little charcoal grill on the patio/porch out front. I loved it. I can't wait to come back to Abbey Inn! I can't think of anything I would change..... Abbey Inn thought of everything. Thanks Abbey Inn for the relaxing stay. We will be back !!!! Todd, Lauri, Rudy Smith, Tipton, Indiana

Thanks for a great and memorable time in Brown County.

The cabin was very nice! It was cozy and comfortable and relaxing for us. We loved the firepit behind the cabin. It would have been nice to have some hotdog skewers to cook over it with tho. The bed was very comfortable however the king size pillows were a little too fluffy and my neck was killing me about 1/3 of the way thru the night. If there was a couple of thinner pillows instead of all the thick ones that would of be great. I ended up using the pillows from the couch the second night there. Overall the stay was great. We used the hot tub a lot while we were there and loved it. It however could have been just a few degrees hotter than it was. Not complaining...just saying for the next ppl there.

My husband and I went to the Abby Inn for our anniversary and it was better than our honeymoon! When we got there, the room we had booked wasn't ready and they upgraded us to a suite for free! We were so excited considering our room was bigger than our apartment is! This is a great place to stay for a romantic getaway. The only thing I would change is I would love it if the tv can be seen from the hot tub. We never have time to watch movies and so that was a rare treat for us.

Overall we had a very enjoyable, relaxing week celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We would have stayed in the Dogwood Room if we had been able to view the room beforehand. The Peach Room had some issues primarily with the very uncomfortable sofa and the shower (low water pressure and virtually no control of temperature). The staff was very friendly and we were aware of only a few folks around the entire stay.

We stayed in July, 2008 for at the time my boyfriends birthday. We stayed in the Jasmine room and the hot tub was perfect and I have never seen a cleaner room. It was very private and romantic. We did not see or hear anyone else the whole time we were there except for checking in and out. While we were there we decided to get married and came back home as husband and wife surprising both our families. It was a wonderful vacation and honeymoon. We are returning this July to celebrate out 1st. Anniversary and we are staying in the Tulip room. We have recommended the Abbey Inn to many of our friends and plan on returning several times. We stayed in the honeysuckle room at abbey inn and it was very nice, very clean although very cold in the room since you have no control over thermostat. Liked the idea of a microwave but it wasn't very powerful. Only suggestion would be to make the shower bigger in that room. Not sure about the shower size in the other rooms. The Ipod radio was a bonus!!

My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery around Abbey Inn and the Nashville area. Our room was really nice however the loveseat has probably seen it's better days. Also handrails on the wall for the hottub would be helpful for us less than agile 20 year olds. Unfortunately there's no food at the Abbey Inn but close enough to some very good resturants in town. Overall the room was very clean and attractively decorated with a hot tub big enough for two people. We have stayed at places where the hot tub just didn't allow both of us in at the same time and were supposed to be two people tubs.

We had a lovely view of the courtyard and enjoyed our hot tub. The room was spacious, clean, with modern amenities. We stayed in the room near the front door and unfortunately heard late arrivals and departing folks leaving all night and early a.m. Also, the drop box for the keys was on the wall of our room so we also heard the keys dropping throughout the a.m. and p.m. It was hard to sleep as the walls seemed a little bit too thin. We also heard our upstairs and next door neighbors turning on the hot tubs, etc. Overall, it's a lovely inn in close proximity of Brown County. Nice amenities.

I was a little worried b/c some reviews weren't so great. My wife and I liked the place a lot. We stayed in a room that had the hot tub in an area separate from the bedroom area, so noise wasn't an issue. Room was clean and updated. If you're looking for a super fancy luxury hotel, this isn't it. If you like the charm of b&b's with their quirkiness, then this place is great. It's also close to Nashville, Columbus and Bloomington, so you can do a lot. You'll have to plan to drive or ride a bike (if you like hills) to get places though.

It was a very nice & quiet place to stay. The only complaint I have is that it was very hot in the room and there wasn't a way to control the temperature. We could only get in the hot tub for a few minutes because it was WAY to hot in there. There needs to be a ceiling fan above the hot tub in order for a person to stay in there longer then 5 minutes. I didn't like how we had to go in the hallway to get to the balcony - on the website that was a little misleading. But other than that the stay was wonderful.

Wonderful - can't wait to return. Clean, spacious, and bed as comfortable as nicest hotels. Hot tub is so relaxing. Only need minor things like soapdish for bathroom sink, hooks near shower for robe. Make sure to put cover on hot tub when not in use or smoke alarm will go off. Read hot tub instructions twice and didn't see this tip. Great place for couples getaway. Friendly helpful staff. No dining option to rate but liked that room fridge was bigger than smallest dorm size to accomodate food for room.

The room was very nice and the hot tub was very relaxing. However, for the price we paid we could have spent the night in a 5 star hotel. We loved the privacy the staff gave us as we enjoyed our stay. If your looking for a private getaway and price is not a variable then I would book a stay with Abbey Inn.

When we got there, we were wondering what to do but Brown County is full of outdoor fun with plenty of places for to enjoy. We have already planed another trip this summer. Only this time we are not bringing the SUV, this time we will bring the roadster (Miata). Abbey inn is in a great location and is a great value, well worth the money spent on it. I would like to thank the Abby Inn staff in answering all our questions why we stayed there especially printing maps to the vineyards.

My wife and I stayed in the "Lilac" room for a weekend getaway. The room was ample and clean and the hot tub is always a nice touch. What I did like was the "welcome to our home" attitude of the staff with access to their movie selection and giving us the feeling to make ourselves at home.

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic getaway at the Abbey. We were searching for a place with a short drive and we had never been to the area. We loved it and didn't want to leave. We had a very relaxing time and plan to return (hopefully soon)!

The room was very nice. Since there is no on-site place to eat, it is necessary to travel a short distance for meals, but it is a pleasant drive.

This is a great place to stay and relax after a wonderful day of shopping and hiking. It really felt like coming home to a lovely place.

The room was amazing and the hot tub just made the entire stay so romantic. It was perfect because it was a little cold outside, so it was nice to come back to every night. We will definitely be back sometime!

I decided to have a "weekend get away" and headed for my favorite place ---- Brown County, IN. I knew I didn't want to stay in town yet be close to town. I noticed the Abbey Inn was about a mile from town and knew that would be the perfect distance from town. I checked in on March 20. I had asked the staff about places to eat in town and found them very friendly and helpful. Even though the Inn sits close to a highway, it was very quiet and my room was cozy and that's what I was looking for. I always "inspect" a room before accepting as I've been known to ask for another room if I spot a cobweb but my room was very clean. I had a fridge and it had cold bottles of water and juice in it. Out back of the Inn, there was a pond and a walking path. At this time of the year, nothing was in bloom yet but I can't wait for my next visit when everything will be in bloom and I can sit down by the pond with a book and relax even more.

I decided to have a "weekend getaway" and checked into the Abbey Inn on Friday, March 20. It was very, very clean which I appreciated as I've been known to ask for another room if I even see a cobweb!! The room was decorated beautifully and above all, it was private, cozy and very quiet. Next morning I walked around the pond and can't wait for my next visit. By then, everything will be in bloom and beautiful. The Inn is just outside Nashville and yet close to town and the restaurants. The staff was very helpful and everything I could've wanted was in the room, including a fridge. Thanks for a wonderful experience!! I'll be back.

We stayed there for our 5th anniversary weekend trip. It was the perfect location and very secluded. We hardly knew there were others staying in the inn at the same time ... even though the parking lot told a different story! Our only recommendations for improvement were that we wished for a microwave and some kind of ceiling fan option. Otherwise it was an amazing visit!! Thanks Abbey Inn!! The Bucklers

Nice quiet place to stay. Very quiet... Hot tub in room worked great, and was clean. Room was very cozy... If you really need to "get away", it's worth the money.

Our family get together was exceptional in the cabin. There was more than enough room; the kitchen (except for the coffee pot being too small) was wonderful; the setting was beautiful and relaxing; we either cooked our own food or ate in town, and everything was great.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The area was peaceful and quiet. We will definitely consider the Abbey Inn for our next getaway.

The sweetheart cabin was fantastic!! So peaceful and relaxing. The only problems we had were with the coffeemaker that leaked, the sauna would not start(which we finally figured out how to get it going ) and the Mrs. would have liked a full length mirror so that when she was getting ready for the wedding she would be able to get get the full picture. Oh yeah...the service was excellent when she accidentally locked us outside in our robes!! lol Thx for the quick response!!!

We very much enjoyed out two night stay at Abbey Inn. The staff was pleasant and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable. The enjoyed the "perk" of purchasing a voucher for the breakfat buffet at the Artist Colony. The voucher made the weekend very affordable. This was our second stay at Abbey Inn and will difinitely stay again.

The room was wonderful! It was definately quiet and a great place to get away. Because of the season all of the plants were dead and they had turned the fountain off. So the outside part wasn't what I had pictured. Just know that its not as pretty from the outside. The inside was very charming. Definately a great place to get away for a few days.

My fiance and I did not want to leave. The room was amazing, very clean and much larger than we expected. The staff was very helpful at check-in and the entire property was very clean. The view was beautiful from our room. I know we'll be back!

The inn was great for an anniversary weekend. No noise, noone banging on your door for housekeeping. The rooms were big and comfortable. We work hard all year and loved the peace and quiet for the weekend.

we stayed at the Abbey Inn Sweethearts Cabin for our 18 wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time I would recommend the cabin for an special getaway we didn't see a sole until we went to checkout and the cabin was clean and ready for our stay I thought the guest book for people to sign was a neat idea I really enjoyed reading about others staying at the cabin as well I look forward to making this a yearly getaway place to celebrate our anniversary. The only thing that I would change with the cabin is the shower needs to be bigger for 2 people to enjoy that would be the only thing I would change. Thanks Abbey Inn

Thanks so much. We enjoy the undescriptive tranquility of Abbey Inn place, enjoyable! Ah, one thing, the pressure of the shower bath is too strong and we couldn't control it! You will see us soon again!

Spent two nights (March 6th & 7th) at Abbey-Inn for my birthday. The room was nice and comfortable and had a well kept hot tub...dont find many of those now a days. Really enjoyed the scenic area behind place with the small pond and short walking path. Plus the amount of privacy made it much more pleasurable. we will defintiely come back. Thanks.

We stayed in the sweetheart cabin. it was a nice getaway. we couldn't get the sauna to work right and there isn't cable in the bedroom. we paid 414 for two nights. pricey but very relaxing and quiet. the bed and couch are very comfy. we did have a mouse in our cabin but hey we were in the country and he didn't bother us any!!!!

First off thank you for a very quiet and relaxing stay at your inn. The only recommendation that I would have is to add steps to the hot tub as my wife struggled getting in and out of it Thanks again!
