Another great stay at Pleasant Grove Farm Cottages

5 on March 09, 2018

We once again grilled our dinner outside on the grill and enjoyed the fire pit while doing it. A chilly evening so we ate inside. Four American Woodcocks displaying while we were outside grilling dinner (March 3). Wifi worked well as usual. Appreciated the fireplace inside. We will come back again! (Note: onsite dining was by us; I gave that a 5 too.)

We LOVED our time at Pleasant Grove Farm, in the Goose Pond Cottage. It was absolutely perfect. The cottage is well maintained and check-in/check-out could not have been simpler. It was a cold, snowy weekend, but that just added to the experience for us. Absolutely loved it and will return! (we were in a private cabin and did not experience on-site dining, we were not expecting to).

Great Cabin

There was a problem with original cabin the night before stay but was given a larger cabin a same price. Had a wonderful and was able to have family in the area to come for dinner.

We just Love this place. It was our 2nd time. The lights were beautiful and put us down in the Christmas mood.

Awesome Facility

Great place to stay! The cabin was exactly like the pictures and maybe even a little nicer. Everything was very clean and everything we had hoped for. Very simple with no “check in” or “check out” and answered any questions I had about the room or area immediately. Very nice family friendly facility! If I ever travel to the area again Pleasant Grove Farms is most certainly where I’ll be staying. Very satisfied customer

We were very pleased with the overall quality of the experience. The peaceful atmosphere was what we were looking for for a weekend experience. We will be coming back to the area for visiting relatives but this will be one of the activities that will be the icing on the cake.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your review! Not all BnB's have onsite dining especially when we only have cottages and cabins. I wonder why they even ask as it is not applicable to all hosts. Hope to see you again!

Great stay at Goosepond!

We had a fantastic stay at this cabin last weekend. They had everything we could possibly need. Great place for a family with 2 small boys. Thanks!

Remote and Close

Second timer here. Beautiful cabin next to a pond. We saw a number of animal visitors. Remote enough for peace and quiet but close enough to Linton and Lyons for picking up supplies and eating out.

birders' delight

3.6 on July 22, 2017

We stayed two nights, one in Scout Cabin and the second in Quail Run, because neither was available for both nights. Both were very nice, and Scout Cabin is a great value - cute little place, very comfortable king bed, tiny kitchen. Everything neat and new. Quail Run was bigger than two people need but a regular kitchen was nice, along with first rate outdoor grill, which we used (Cabin had one too). Quite a few flies had made it into Quail Run but we nailed them with the flyswatter. Overall, the lodgings are very clean and the beds, furniture, everything feels almost new, and is kept very clean. Pleasant Grove is a GREAT BASE for exploring Goose Pond. I highly recommend it for birders who can spent two nights, which gives you two dawns and two evenings to look for the secretive marsh birds like bitterns and night-herons and rails. And a home base to retreat to to shower, remove ticks, etc. The Mexican Restaurant in Lyons provided good take-out.
