I left a previous review and wanted to add the food was delicious, we had different place settings and china each morning. The innkeeper had taken cooking lessons from a master chef earlier. His chefs hat and moose slippers(a tradition, new slippers every year(ask him how it all got started. This home has lots of history and the innkeeper had lots of like stories he told, very interesting.

I love historical B & B's, Queen Ann was quaint very much authentic with modern updates. Our host was very attentive to all the quests, funny, pleasant and very colorful, great stories on the house and it's history and past guests. We enjoyed the parlor parties every evening at 5, what an old fashioned name for a get together We ran into people that our paths crossed in the past, it really can be a small world. These people stated that they had picked the right B & B and would stay there again as we would. Myself, my mother and daughter all had a very enjoyable trip to Galena.

The host and his cooking were excellent, and the other guests were all friendly, so we had a delightful stay. The location is good too, close to downtown via a walk bridge. Parking downtown can be difficult, even during a cold weekend in March, so walking in is recommended.

My wife and I stayed at the Queen Anne’s just after New Years 2018, and we had a fantastic time! Mike was friendly and welcoming and had a very streamlined process for setting us up with a key to our room. The location could not be better for walking to downtown Galena; once we parked at the Queen Anne we barely needed to move our car! Each morning, Mike set us up with some of the most out-of-this-world breakfasts that I have ever seen. These breakfasts looked like something you’d be served in a 5-star restaurant in New York! The Queen Anne boasts a collection of interesting books about the history of Galena, and they also have quite the movie collection for those cold wintry nights after a night on the town. Mike was great, the location was perfect, and the house itself was very cozy. I’d definitely recommend staying at the Queen Anne! The one caveat of which we were unaware when booking the room is that they have a pet cat. Mike asked we had allergies, and then promised the cat would be kept away from the rooms until we departed, however my allergies were still pretty bad throughout the stay. If you aren’t allergic to cats, I’d say that it doesn’t get better than this in Galena! Tony and Sharon

We stayed at the Queen Anne in early December and had a completely delightful stay. The house was incredible, our room cozy, the food delicious. However, Mike (the innkeeper) was the icing on the cake of our trip. His interesting stories and sense of humor brought so much to our experience. And of course, we adored Princess Anne the cat (who only comes out to visit if there are no guest allergies in the house)! I also recommend that you buy their inn cookbook and ask Mike to "autograph" it for you :) We can't wait to return! -- Alan and Julie, Munster, IN
