A real Gem

We have stayed here when visiting family in the area. Have always been pleased. Beautiful 120 yo building with very comfortable rooms. Joe an Myrna are excellent hosts and met our needs superbly. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. Very convenient 1 block off city square with historic courthouse.

So peaceful, relaxing and charming.

Excellent experience over a one-night stay this week, I wish it were longer! The room was comfortable, the bath luxurious, the breakfast awesome. I spent some time chatting with the owners and they are terrific folks.

Very Welcoming B&B

Joe and Myrna are tremendous hosts. This is a lovely historic home, warm, well maintained and welcoming and to all. Just a great experience. You won't be disappointed.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind words. We are tickled to show off our 1892 kit home by George Franklin Barber and have our guests enjoy the splendor of days past. We also ply those guests with freshly prepared breakfasts and more in addition to our offering of a quality, clean, comfortable environment. We hope you choose to return again and again. Great place to stay

If you love old homes you will not be disappointed in Market Street B&B. The hosts go above and beyond your expectations.

Innkeeper Response
We think that it is good to provide more than our guests might expect. That is the easy part. Yes, ours is an old home which was built in 1892, but the systems are all new and kept in great shape by professionals. Thank you for your wonderful comments and we hope you return for more fun and stays. Myrna and Joe

Wonderful break away without breaking the bank

4.6 on February 28, 2018

Market Street Inn is a lovely respite for rest and relaxation in a beautifully restored Victorian house. Each room is tastefully decorated, amenities are wonderful and the Inn Keeper friendly and helpful. We were served a delicious breakfast and then spent the morning by the fireplace reading as the weather was bad. Market Street Inn is great value and lots of fun.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for sharing your impressions of our property. We feel we have worked hard over the years to create and maintain a high level of quality and beauty in our Inn and by maintaining high standards for food quality and cleanliness. We hope you choose to visit us again.

Overall Joe & Myrna made the trip what it was. They kept the home gorgeously kept, with great accommodations, and wine to go with any request. The food was delicious, and the conversations had were better than most you will have with your family.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate a guest taking the time to tell the world about their positive experience here. We enjoy engaging with guests and try to not give more attention that the guest may like or want. Make sense? Thank you for your holiday season visit. Please do not hesitate to return. Myrna and Joe

A jewel in small town America

4.8 on November 26, 2017

We stayed at Market Street Inn over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were in town to visit family and really just wanted a nice clean place to stay. We knew it would be good, but we were really impressed and everything exceeded our expectations. The hospitality was outstanding and the antique decor in the main house was wonderful!!!!!

Innkeeper Response
Exceeding expectations, in our opinion, is what we try to do. Some folks have commented in the past that sometimes photos on a website do not show a real picture when viewed in person. We try to underrepresent what we offer. We love guests who appreciate what we are able to offer. Come again. Myrna and Joe

Midwestern Gem is Sure to Please!

5 on October 24, 2017

My husband and I had never been to a Bed and Breakfast before and wanted to find a place to get away and reconnect. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. Myrna and Joe (whom I called Alan Alda due to the uncanny resemblance) were the epitome of hospitality and sparkling conversation, both of which are often neglected in this fast-paced world. The room was perfection, the breakfast superb, and the obvious care of the hosts for the comfort of their guests was outstanding. This is THE B&B to visit if you are looking for a romantic getaway, relaxing weekend, or want to reconnect with what makes the midwest so special: our wonderful people. Thanks, Joe and Myrna, for the amazing memories! Lindsey and Aaron

Innkeeper Response
Some folks would come looking for diversionary things to do. You came for one of the most special reasons, to become re-immersed in one another. Knowing that, we will pay as much or little attention to a guest couple as they wish. Thank you for sharing. Myrna and Alan (Joe)
