The breakfast Joan fixed for us was truly a feast and I was delighted she prepared mine with a meat substitute so I could enjoy the 'same' breakfast as the others - a 3 part meal including dessert! Fresh cookies on arrival, 'help yourself' beverages, and a fridge to store our own ice packs/food from previous nights camping-a relief. The decor was perfect, the eco-friendly toiletries (in dispensers to avoid plastic consumption) was most appreciated, and we were delighted to learn some history of the home and area. Highly recommend.

Alice's B&B was such a pleasant surprise. Joan and Dave were wonderful hosts. I stayed in Fannie May which was such a bright and cheery room. Breakfast was outstanding as well. I would highly recommend anyone wanting a pleasant stay to stay at Alice's.

Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and had attractive furnishings. The breakfast was delicious and filling. We would have liked to have spent a second evening but there was no availability. I can see why.

Wonderful place. Just like being at home. Very welcoming and friendly. Joan and Dave made you feel like you were family. Enjoyed the talks on the porch with Dave. We had a wonderful experience at Alice Snyders Bed and Breakfast. Our room was very clean and extremely quiet. The owners were helpful and friendly. Our breakfast was so very good and the conversation was warm and friendly. This was my grandsons first B&B experience. He said he would remember the experience forever. I'd say that was a big compliment! Nancy, Lisa, and Noah

This was our first stay in Galena, and from the moment we arrived we felt right at home with Dave and Joan. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking with Dave each evening, and Joan's breakfasts were delicious! Hearing about the history of the town each morning at breakfast was very interesting and definitely added to the trip. We will be back and highly recommend a stay here to all. Thanks for the great stay! Bruce and Danielle

We had a wonderful stay while in Galena to celebrate our anniversary. Alice's Snyder House B&B was a very comfortable, friendly, and convenient place to stay. Our hosts were welcoming and did all they could to make our stay pleasant and memorable. The breakfasts were delicious with a variety of choices, the fresh cookies or brownies that were available at anytime were wonderful, and the refrigerator was always fully stocked with soft drinks. The B&B is close to historical sites as well as to the main shopping area of Galena (just over the bridge). Sitting on the front porch or in the parlor with a cup of coffee was a relaxing and refreshing time. Our room (Lucretia's Suite) was comfortable, nicely decorated with a mixture of antiques and modern decor, and the private bathroom was very clean and offered both a bathtub and separate shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Alice's Snyder House without reservation.
Fannie's room is a bright sunny yellow and filled with vintage handiwork including a quilt collection in the attached sitting area. There is a Queen bed and antique "Gentleman's" dresser. The sitting area has a spindle butler's bed and lots of vintage sewing memorablia. Don't miss reading the companion prayer to "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep". The bath has a walk-in shower.
Alice's room is decorated with an Asian theme and includes a Japanese Kimono brought back to the States by a WWII veteran. It has a Queen bed, 2 comfy chairs and black lacquered dressers. The bath has a large walk-in shower
The Suite is perfect for family or friends traveling together. The rooms have views of the historic Washburne House and Bellvedere Mansion. The larger room has a King bed, 2 wingback chairs and a walnut dresser. The smaller room has a full bed and is furnished with 1860s carved walnut furniture. The bathroom has a double jacuzzi tub and a seperate walk-in shower. Cozy terry robes are provided for your use.
