Farmers Guest House is a historic treasure in the heart of downtown Galena, and we invite you for a relaxing experience. Our comfortable bed and breakfast offers nine accommodations. Each of our rooms feature vintage pieces and original hardwood floors combined with today’s luxuries - we're sure you’ll feel relaxed in our whirlpool tubs and large showers. Wake up each morning to the smell of your gourmet breakfast being prepared by our owner/chef Susan Steffan, the “The Breakfast Diva” and winner of an episode on Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship! She’ll gladly accommodate special dietary requests, including gluten free and vegetarian options. If you want to ask Susan about her life in reality TV, join her and husband, Don for a glass of vino during daily WineTime™. At 5 p.m., we’ll uncork a bottle or two, and you can take your glass to your room, to our courtyard, or stay in our spacious dining room. We are here to provide you with the best possible Galena experience.

Best Girls Wine Tasting Weekend in Galena

5 on March 29, 2018

We stayed at The Farmers Guest House for a Girls Weekend for The Wine Lovers 2018 Event. I had goggled several places in the area. Susan was so helpful and accommodating on the phone I knew this is where we should stay. Everything exceeded our expectations. Susan and Don are the Perfect Hosts and made us feel at home. Susan has been on The Food Network show and rightfully so She is an amazing Baker, Chief she can do it all! The Rooms are Quaint and so Cozy and Comfortable. I would recommend Farmers Guest House to anyone that is looking for a B&B that is truly top notch in every way.

Absolute perfect place to stay. Our hosts were amazing and so personable. Food was amazing! One of, if not the best, B&b we've ever stayed at.

Farmer's Guest House ruined me on any other B&B

5 on February 21, 2018

This was my first experience at a B&B and I fear that no place will ever live up to the expectation that Farmer's Guest House has set!! My wife and I decided to take a weekend trip and found FGH online. We were a little worried about staying a B&B because both of us have food problems. I am allergic to citrus fruit and my wife has a gluten and dairy intolerance. Susan and Don were more than accommodating. When we arrived Susan had baked fresh gluten free cookies for my wife and went over the entire menu with both of us to make sure that we could eat the meals. She also purchased a special soap for me, because the normal soap is a lemon based soap. She then set out gluten free crackers for my wife during the wine hour. Our first night there, Susan asked everyone if they had dinner reservations for the weekend. None of realized how difficult it would be to get reservations at a nice restaurant and Susan went to work. She got reservations for everyone in the room. The breakfast was fantastic and entire house is beautiful. In the morning they bring in fresh local coffee, and they have a coffee pot and tea available all day. There is also a refrigerator available for use, that is fully stocked with water, coke, pepsi, and diet drinks as well. The entire experience was fantastic, and my wife an I have already booked our next stay this summer.

Lovely Getaway

We had a lovely stay with scrumptious breakfasts. We also received wonderful care with our dinner reservations both a cancellation and a new booking at a different restaurant. Highly recommend this B&B

Wonderful Experience!

This was my husband and I's first trip to Galena as well as our first stay in a B&B and both experiences were wonderful. Farmers Guest House is in a beautiful old building with well appointed and very clean rooms and incredible breakfasts. We loved Don and Susan who, after we experienced some vehicle troubles on the day of our departure, went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. We felt very comfortable and at home throughout our stay and will definitely be back.

great find

Wonderful one night stay in this conveniently located B&B inn. Proprietors Susan and Don are very warm and down to earth, setting a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Additionally Susan is a high caliber chef and our breakfast was superb. Thumbs up.
