BRIERWREATH MANOR IS AWESOME!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend it to anybody going to Galena. Joe, the Inn Keeper, is very knowledgeable about Galena and all of the lovely nick knacks and decorations in his establishment. Joe is also a WONDERFUL cook and a very friendly, kind person. Peggy Sue and Lynne thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will DEFINATELY stay there again when visiting Galena next time. THANK YOU JOE FOR YOUR WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY!!!
Thank you for making me smile. WOW!!! What a warm and wonderful review from some fabulous ladies. I greatly look forward to your return so we can catch up on life and make more memories!!!! Happy Holidays!!!

This was our first time staying at Brierwreath Manor. It was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Joe was a most gracious and accommodating host. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious both days. We were able to park the car on site and walk to dinner and shopping. This will always be our go-to B&B in Galena. Thanks Joe!
Happy Thanks Giving!!! It was wonderful having you here!!! Your Welcome!!! Have a great holiday season, and Happy New Year.

Joe greeted my two sisters and I at the front door and welcomed us into his beautiful home. He gave us a tour and even helped us get our luggage up to our room. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and we truly felt at home. Joe served an amazing breakfast, grabbed a cup of coffee and filled us in on the history of his home when we asked. It was really a great experience and we would return again if ever in the area. Thank you, Joe!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was great to have you here! Come to visit when you are ready for another get away.

We really enjoyed our over night stay at the Brierwreath Manor. The room exceeded our expectations. It was nice to have a sitting room to watch TV away from the bedroom. Joe was a wonderful host and made a breakfast to die for!! The best pecan French toast I have ever had along with sausage and fruit. We also enjoyed the company of two other couples and Joe, who sat and joined us in the conversation. The location was one block from the downtown. Very convenient.
It was very nice having you here and thank you for a very nice review. I am looking forward to your return. I greatly enjoy my guests.

This is a nice B&B off the beaten path. It was a quiet street with beautiful views of the town. I think the only off-putting thing was that there was WAY too much stuff everywhere. Everything is decorated: walls, floors, shelves, and the whole house feels very small because of it. We stayed in the room where it's decorated in red, white, and blue. There were teddy bears everywhere, and it's especially annoying when they're on the floor under tables and chairs. In the upstairs hallway, there's a shelf with full-sized candlesticks and tapered candles, which is fine, but under the shelf on the floor, there are more stuffed animals and knickknacks. We were trying not to knock them over while wheeling in our suitcases. The parlor is beautiful, but again, so much stuff, that it's busy and disorienting. I think it's a nice place, they just need to declutter so it feels a little less overwhelming.
Thank you for your review. Being just one block off Main St. In Galena with off street parking is a wonderful thing if you have been to Galena and know how busy it can get. If you are a minimalist I can understand why there is too much stuff for you. We have enjoyed collecting and running this Bed & Breakfast for almost 30 years, and have cleared some of the clutter. I think the pictures on the website Brierwreath.com give an accurate look at what you should expect.

On September 16th my girlfriend and I took a trip to Galena, IL. She has always stayed at the Brierwreath Manor. It was my first time staying in a B & B and may I say I truly loved it! Joe the owner made me feel like family. I really enjoyed our conversations every morning with the other quests. We shared some great stories. Joe's chocolate cookies were so yummy. I look forward to returning to this place again. I highly recommend the Briarweath it was close to all the shopping and eateries.
I am supper happy to hear your first B&B experience was a good one. You both can come and visit me anytime!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Brierwreath this past weekend. It was her first time at a B&B. I have stayed at Brierwreath many many times over the last 8 or 9 years. We stayed in the Heirloom Room which is very spacious with a huge bathroom including a claw bath tub. Brierwreath is in a great location. Once you park, either in their driveway or on the street, you are within walking distance for everything on Main Street. This B&B has a great homey feeling. It always feels like I'm going back home when I stay at Brierwreath. Joe (just has his parents before him) was warm and very friendly. He was able to answer any of our questions whether it was on history or restaurants. The cookies in the room were soft and delicious! Meeting the others who were staying at breakfast was also very enjoyable and the conversation never stopped. We can't wait to stay there again! I would highly recommend Brierwreath! And, I can not say enough good thinks about Joe, the innkeeper.
WOW!!! You are always welcome here!!! I am so happy to hear you had a great time. Have a great fall and wonderful winter. I love my returning guests!

Joe was the perfect host!! We loved the personal touches in his home. We loved the never empty jar of chocolate chip cookies and great breakfasts. It was a one block walk to main street! Joe had great suggestions of where to eat, he was exactly right. We will definitely go back to Breierwreath the next time we are in Galena. Nothing bad to say!!
Your cookie jar will be extra full next time you come!!!! I think you have left the perfect review. :) Have a wonderful fall if I don't see you.
