Stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Connie and Gary have great knowledge of the area, including interesting sites and restaurants. You can see the Mississippi river from the table were Connie serves you a wonderful breakfast and the afternoon sweet treats are great. Really neat, quaint town. We saw bald eagles over the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. Would love to go back.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and were able to see some eagles. Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to do a review, it is greatly appreciated. Hope to see you again soon.

This is a fantastic bed and breakfast! We just returned from our 3rd visit and can't wait for our next visit! Everything about The Greentree Inn is exceptional. The breakfast and snacks are awesome, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the innkeepers, Connie and Gary, go out of their way to make their guests welcome!
Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to do a review. We love our repeat guests - it is just like having "old" friends come for a visit. We will look forward to seeing you again, hopefully soon!!

I have stayed here 3 times now and really don’t want to stay anywhere else! Gary and Connie are amazing and really do a GREAT job at making you feel comfortable. Right away they confirm/ask about any dietary restrictions and offer activities/events that are going on around the area during your stay. Then they show you how to get around the house, the dining room, kitchen, and your room. The rooms are clean and the beds are AMAZING! They offer bikes to ride around the town of Elsah and a fire pit to sit by weather permitting. The food has been different every time I have stayed and each time I ask for the recipes..thanks Connie! There is also so much to do around the area that we decided to stay 2 nights this last time. Elsah is right in the middle of it all and the town in and of itself is rich with history and provides a lot to look at and explore. Gary and Connie are honest, good, genuine people truly providing a home away from home. I told them last time that there was a part of me that didn’t want to share this place with anyone else but I have to...You have to check this place out!
My favorite part of this review is when you say that we provide "a home away from home". That is what we strive to achieve. We will look forward to your 4th visit. We appreciate your business and taking time to do a review. THANK YOU!!

Great Get-Away. We were in Elsah for the Christmas House Tour. Connie & Gary are wonderful hosts. The rooms, the breakfast, their hospitality, everythiing was top notch. One of the BEST B & B's we have stayed in. The town, very historic, very relaxing and quiet; but restaurants and other activities only minutes away..Only 45 minutes from downtown St Louis, but a pleasant world away.

My wife and I have vacationed along the Great River Road from Alton to Grafton, Illinois for the last 40 years. Our usual haunts were booked up with wedding activities in the area this November, so we went looking for a B&B. What a delight to happen on to the Green Tree Inn and Innkeepers Connie and Gary Davis. They are now at the top of our lodging preferences when in that area. These two very special people, with their culinary talents and the attention they pay their guests, made our visit an exceptional experience. Plenty of space, elegant coziness, mouthwatering evening treats and delicious gourmet breakfasts are the focus of this review. I would also add that Connie and Gary were a delight to visit with as well. We have stayed at many B&B's over these many years in the U.S., the U.K. and Europe. The GreenTree does it as well, if not better, than all our previous hosts.
Thank you so much for taking time to do such a glowing review. It was our pleasure and we are so happy that you found us. I think it is easy to do a great job when you love what you do. Gary and I both feel blessed to be able to get to meet so many wonderful people.

This was the fifth time that we've stayed at this B&B and it was just as charming as the first. Connie and Gary are such gracious hosts! There is always plenty to eat at breakfast (someone at our table had three servings of Connie's pumpkin pancakes--and it wasn't me!) and I just love the afternoon treats that are prepared from scratch. The inn was extremely clean, the free WIFI worked well, it's in an adorable village and you can't ask for friendlier hosts than them. We already made our reservations for next year! If you're looking for a nice get-away this is the place to go...and I promise that you won't be disappointed!

Connie's hospitality at the Green Tree Inn knows no bounds. She has an incredible ability to make you feel completely at home and pampered at the same time! The guesthouse is absolutely spotless. Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. But on top of all of this stands Connie's herself and her amazing breakfasts!! I would recommend anyone to stay here. We're sorry to leave!

My husband & I celebrated an anniversary weekend here & it was fantastic! The rooms, service & cleanliness met our expectations! Greg & Connie treat you like they have always known you! Food is SO good & they fill you up for sure and don't let you walk out hungry at all! The snacks were mouth watering on top of that! We are definetly going back again! The 31/2 hour drive is well worth the stay we had!

Gary and I fulfilled our dream of owning a B&B when we purchased Green Tree Inn in June, 2012. We enjoy all aspects of owning and operating a B&B. I love to cook and now I have a captive audience. We have had the opportunity to meet great folks from all over the world. Every day is a new adventure!!
