The Hamakua Ranch House Inn is located on the beautiful Hamakua Coast, at 3500 ft elevation on the remote, privately owned Kukaiau Ranch. The views of the ocean and Mauna Kea are stunning from anywhere on this estate built in 1900. Day trip anywhere on the island and come home each night to the serenity that only a gorgeous 30 acre property can offer. We want to you to consider this your home while on the island. This is a place where you can truly get away from it all. We are off the grid and a living a green, healthy, self sustainable lifestyle.

We stayed at the Hamakua Ranch house to attend my grandmother's memorial service. Terri could not have been more sweet or accommodating. The room was lovely, with a fantastic view. The entire house is gorgeous, the onsite dogs super friendly, and Terri's company delightful and her breakfasts delicious. She sent us out with raincoats and umbrellas when it rained on the day of the memorial, and with beans from her own garden to take to our family. I think Terri has found her calling restoring the old farmhouse to its former gracious past and sharing it with the rest of us. It's a bit out of the way from the usual tourist haunts, but you'll get quite a different feel for the Big Island here. We highly recommend. And thanks again, Terri, for your wonderful hospitality.

We had a fabulous stay! Chelsea took very good care of us, and we basically had the place to ourselves. A magical place up in the eucalyptus forrest!

The Hamakua Ranch House BNab is great. Do yourself a favour and stay here. The 'Big Island' is a wonderfully down to earth place to see and Terri at the BNB, although not from Hawai'i originally just suits the place completely. Her friendliness and willing to help out any which way provides a brilliantly welcoming environment. We stayed in the Loft' room and it felt peaceful, private and relaxing. Using this BNB as a base to visit places around the Northern part of the island was a fantastic way to see the place. Thumbs up to Terri and Chelsea and Tony (husband names slips my mind right now). Great place, beautiful views and scenery, great vale and greater experience.

Terri and Tim made my holiday stay so welcoming, warm, and cared for that it was a delight to return to the ranch house cottage at the end of each day to recharge in the beautiful seaview setting surrounded by working ranch and forest. Each day they shared the property's history, details about the area, and on-target suggestions for the day. Food raised on the ranch appeared in fresh, healthy and filling breakfasts. My experience was ideal!

Terry was most welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. The setting is beautiful, food delicious. Room and grounds better than the website pictures. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend this B&b to friends.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage at the Hamakua Ranch House. Our hosts were kind and willing to help in any way possible to make our stay a pleasant one, including providing warm coats for a trip to the mountain and rain gear, which was most appreciated! The only downside was the 6 mile journey from the main road, but if you are searching for a spectacular view and serene peace and quiet, this would be a great place for you.

The Mermaid Suite is beautiful, the Ranch House is beautiful. It was fun to discover the Mermaids throughout the suite, check behind the closet door;-). The breakfasts were great, Terri had me at Eggs Benedict! The view from the deck can only be described as wow; I was visiting from Alaska, so I know WOW! When the weather messed with my plans and I spend more time at the Ranch, Terri and Tim really made me feel at home. I hope to make Hamakua Ranch part of a future stay on Hawaii. – Jackie in Chugiak, Alaska

My wife and i felt very much at ease staying here the last 4 nights on the big island. Although our hostess Terri could not be there personally to initiate her personal touch (Due to a family matter) Her presence was felt through her design flair, and quality touches throughout the property . Her husband Tim soldiered through, by preparing us tasty breakfast, and pleasing company. Thanks Tim . WE would very much enjoy coming back if given the chance. thanks again .
