September 2017 Our week's stay at Hale Maluhia Country Inn was over all too soon. We loved the beauty and serenity of "The House of Peace" as it is aptly named. Miriam and Dave are very warm and welcoming Hosts. Miriam prepares wonderful breakfasts of fresh fruits, pastries, home baked breads and all the fixings to make omelettes and waffles. Truly, this is a special place to stay!..Rosemary and Keith Gray
We truly enjoyed serving you. Thank you!

This is a beautiful, tropical setting and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is lovely with fresh local foods and always fresh baked bread. One truly feels in paradise yet at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Marcy

Miriam and I absolutely love this place. The beauty of the property and the promise of an omelette bar got me here, but Ken and his staff completely endeared me. Truly it is a House of Peace. Dave Cariveau

Last week was my second stay at Hale Maluhia. My daughter and I had a great stay in 2008, that definitely recommended me to return. And this time was equally great. I will certainly return on my next vista too. The location on the mountain slope gets one a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Kona, yet close enough that one can zip into town within 10 min. Also, very easy access to all the sights and experiences of the Kona coast. The breakfast layout is the most professionally hosted and extensive of any B&B I stayed at. They emphasize fresh picked produce, fresh baked breads and eggs. On the dining porch there are great views of the mountain environment, birds all about. The rooms were impeccable. I would recommend, for the AM or dusk walkers, the level stretch of road about 1/2 down on Hualalai Rd, where it meets Hienaloli Rd; (walk along Hienaloli north; park at intersection). It's a gentle stroll, with jungly views.

Note totale !!! bravo et bonne continuation. Je vous remercie! abdel

My husband and I came across Hale Maluhia while searching for the ideal Bed and Breakfast. We couldn't have located a more perfect residence for our 4 day Kona stay. "House of Peace" is the perfect name for this beautiful home. Surrounded by foilage, Birds of Paradise, a breakfast garden to enjoy in the morning (or anytime) filled with native birds and a waterfall as well as caring staff and owners - a traveler is bound to decompress from the Mainland and experience the spirit of aloha in this wonderful place. Our breakfasts were just awesome - a grand array of hawaiian fruits, delectable homemade breads and other goodies complemented the 'make your own' omelettes and waffles. And located in near proximetry to coffee plantations, the coffee is just the BEST!! We were joined on 3 of the mornings by a gecko who shared a piece of papya with us!! Our room was very comfortable, and the staff went out of their way to meet our needs and make us feel at home including being serenaded by beautiful piano music during breakfast. There is a peace here that almost defies explanation. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to the Big Island, we will be certain to stay again. John and Kathy Raimondi

Real Hospitality: Having read the most recent review before this one, I wonder if we stayed at the same place! We found it to be very relaxing, comfortable and clean. As far as insects, there were ants but it's a tropical island and that is to be expected. Our hosts were very outgoing and friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. The breakfasts were incredible. We would definitly recommend this place to everyone and stay here again should our travels take us back.

We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, traditional inn. They were very accomodating to every request and looked after our every need, their motto was, "Hey, you're on vacation, relax!" The breakfasts were wonderful with a wide variety of fresh fruits, homemade breads, and make your own omelet bar. This place is surrounded by a wide variety of exotic plants, birds, and flowering trees, very lovely. We enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi at night and listening to the sounds of the tree frogs chirping. If you are used to a modern resort atmosphere, this place may not be for you, but if you want a slice a paradise, this is the place!

As we entered our bungalow we were enveloped by the peaceful comfort of serenity the suite offered. The song birds, the view, the service and food far exceeded our expectations. The serenade of frogs were a beautiful lullaby to the end of our day. Skip the boxy rooms of the busy hotels for a truly peaceful retreat experience.
