Our weekend was totally delightful at Bella Villa Messina. Jerry is a terrific host, filled with positive stories and care, lots of suggestions for what to do, and a terrific cook preparing wonderful breakfasts, and lovely wine and cheese in the late afternoon. I highly, highly recommend this Villa with spectacular views! Anna
This is a Gorgeous Victorian B & B, totally authentic, with a wide wrap-around covered Patio for a wonderfull (included) gourmet breakfast and wine & cheese afternoon delight (also included), and the two owners are totally gracious and will become your best friends! And, they know all the Wineries (and restaurants) in NAPA Valley and have a world of information they share with you during your stay. But, book early as it fills up quickly! 10 out of 10 In Our trip book!! :-)
This inn is conveniently located a short walk from the main square in Healdsburg. It's a charming early 20th century structure with parking in the rear. The neighborhood is quiet and residential. Our room, the Sunset, was very clean, with a super comfortable bed, cute little rocking chair, and an updated en suite bathroom. The owner, Karen, is very friendly and knowledgable about wine, not to mention an excellent baker (we were treated to cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day, and there are always homemade cookies). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I have submitted a review previously which was not acknowledged to mygmail. On 03/01 the lights went out due to tree on power line. Marilyn, front office and Gerald owner did outstanding job of contacting us at dinner and moving us to rooms with auxiliary power. Breakfast both days was highly entertaining with Chef John just recounting his day's experiences. HILARIOUS. Great stay. Elwood L Schmidt, MD
A tree fell on the power lines one night while we out dining. Marilyn and Gerald contacted us at our dining places, directed us on actions to take, and relocated us to powered portions of the facility. These actions took planning forehand, effort, and great good will on their part. That was outstanding service and commitment.
No one was there to check us in. Had to call to get someone to come over. Did not offer to make dinner reservations. No one was there when we checked out so just left the keys in the kitchen. Would have preferred to see and talk to someone. She was only there to cook breakfast. Place was clean and nicely appointed.
This was our 4th visit to Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza. It is a beautiful Inn ideally located near shops and restaurants. As usual, the staff provided great service and cheerfully met our every need. We enjoyed the wonderful coffee in the morning, as well as the breakfast.
Excellent location, nice desk staff, rude kitchen cook. poor selection of breakfast foods -among the worst of all my B&B stays. Not a bad choice if you don't mind going our to one of the nearby excellent breakfast restaurants
From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and comfortable. You day start with great coffee, gorgeous fruit and an amazing breakfast. Jerry provides tips for your day, which help you get the most out of sightseeing and tastings. Wine and cheese in the evening allows you to unwind, recap your day, play with the adorable dogs and enjoy the views. We have brought friends and relatives and they all love it. We have stayed many times, just a great place with great hosts.
Booked a quick getaway for our anniversary and stayed for the first time at Avalon Inn. We stayed in the quiet, spacious Forest Room which features a private,two-person hot tub overlooking the creek. Hilary is an amazing hostess, she helped us plan wine tastings, an Armstrong Redwood hiking trip, a visit to Goat Rock Beach and make dining arrangements. She is also an amazing cook. Her breakfasts were delicious. We will definitely be back!
Hotel was expensive for what was provided. Our room was dirty, old q-tip next to bed and hair and dirty floor in bathroom. Space was small. Towels were scratchy. Breakfast was nothing to write home about.
The hotel breakfasts were not quite as advertised. Each day, the hot entree ran out quickly and was not refilled. The rest of the breakfast buffet was exactly the same. It was clear that things were not carefully checked when my husband found mold on. his toast. Evening wine reception was nice and a good opportunity to talk to some smaller wineries. Room was comfortable but a little dull in its decor.
