Taste the "real" Hawaii. Our spacious red cedar country home, is snuggled in the macadamia nut orchard. Pick macadamia nuts, mangos, oranges, figs or lilikoi depending on the season. Near South Point, Green and Black sand beaches and 45 min. from Volcano National Park. Southernmost B&B in US! Local fruit and coffee featured in our continental breakfast served on the Lanai with an ocean view. Wild pigs, turkeys, pheasants (and of course chickens) abound. Escape the traffic and congestion here, relax and listen to the birdsong. Ask about special services for Pacific Quest parents.

We stayed w our 3 kids (8,10 and 12). they loved it there. there is a nice macadamia nut farm to walk around, chickens, and her pet bird. they have been fixing the place up nicely, and investing a lot to update everything. its very peaceful in the days and especially evenings. there are a few places to go nearby to eat, and the cool back sand beach not far (drive). we enjoyed our stay.

Many thanks to Kelly and staff for making our stay at Big Island B&B outstanding. I'm a little late with my review as we stayed here in July 2017, but just thinking back to it reminds me of what a great experience it truly was. We learned so much about this seldom talked about area of the Big Island and were able to explore and have a comfortable, serene retreat to return to at the end of every long day. The natural surroundings of a mac-nut orchid and the sights and sounds of tropical birds and roosters on site made us enjoy the authentic hawaiian experience even more, especially when compared to the mega-resorts up the Kona coast. Manager Kelly was friendly, knowledgable and somebody who we look forward to staying with again, hopefully soon. Dave and Leonida Lentini

Wonderful location on the south point of the Big Island. However, breakfast was mediocre at best. The potential for this facility is substantial but quite a bit of work needs to be done by the owner and manager in order to really make it a nice destination for more than just a day or two.
Innkeeper Response
Aloha! Thank you for your frank feedback. My apologies for your experience being below expectations. We do try to keep very high standards and have received many great reviews in this regard. I believe your stay happened while we were down with the flu. The back up staff was unavailable and guests were not taken care of as we typically do. Please contact me if you return to the island and give us a chance to do better. Mahalo!

Macadamia Meadows is perfectly situated to explore South Point and the surrounding green and black sand beaches or even Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. Six of us stayed comfortably in the simple but clean, two-room "volcano" suite. The kids had a blast running around the large yard, catching lizards, cracking macadamia nuts, and exploring the farm. Our hosts were kind and welcoming and the breakfasts were stellar. We highly recommend Macadamia Meadows to families and those looking for an off the beaten path location to relax. Stop by the nearby Punalu'u Bake Shop for pastries, coffee, and ice cream and the Hana Hou restaurant for sandwiches and burritos.

Everyone at this B&B made our first B&B experience a great one! It was much better than we were expecting and we will surely go this route again (as opposed to a hotel) because of everyone at Macadamia Meadows. The kids even had a great time picking nuts. They are in the process of remodeling and updating and I would love to be able to go back and see it when they are finished.

Our family of five occupied the suite which included two rooms and a shared bathroom. This space was comfortable and spacious. We were awakened every morning to the sound of the crowing roosters. Breakfasts, served on the front porch, were plated beautifully, delicious and satisfying. Jennifer and those helping her were accessible whenever we had questions, but we felt free to come and go as we liked. This bnb met our needs and fit the unique setting at the most southern point of the US.
