Our first trip to San Miguel de Allende was made even better because of our stay at Antigua Capilla. The design, furnishings, and attention to detail are evident when you first walk in. The owners, Antonietta and Francisco, are helpful, friendly, and are able to provide many suggestions for your stay. The staff is very friendly and efficient, although most don't speak more than rudimentary English. The rooms are very comfortable and large. Decorated in classic colonial style with soaring arched ceilings, the room we stayed in (Oaxaca) was just perfect. A very comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom, and a gas fireplace all made it a perfect oasis. Breakfast is abundant and always interesting as you sit at communal tables, with Antonietta cheerfully serving a delicious breakfast and good cheer. This place is a keeper!

Very beautiful Spanish architecture, great views of San Miguel, 17th century Chapel in courtyard and wonderful fountains and foliage all in modern establishment. Antonieta and Francisco are great host, attentive at all times. 10-15 minute walk to Jardin (central plaza), and 40 peso ride back. For value, the top place in San Miguel. Michael Armand, Apex, NC

Four of us ( a couple, sister and mother) shared two rooms for a week here. Both rooms were beautiful and perfectly equipped, although our room (Mata Ortiz) was especially nice because of the second floor location which allowed in a breeze , and for its luxurious walk in shower. You cannot go wrong with any of them though. The b&b is accessed down a narrow light filled alley which is well known to taxi drivers because of its size (they park at the end). It seems curious at first but once you begin to explore the up and down of cobblestone streets in SMA, we looked forward to our return to our little oasis. The owners Antonieta and Francisco could not be more welcoming upon our arrival and each morning while they served a delicious breakfast. In the afternoons you are on your own with an honor bar of beer, wine, snacks and Popsicles. The b&b has many nooks to relax in and you may well be tempted to linger for hours. It's about a 20 minute walk downhill to the main square, passing artisans' alley on the way. You cannot go wrong choosing to stay here and it provided such a lovely background for our trip.

The photos of the individual rooms do not do justice to outstanding thought and care of their design. I would recommend this B&B to whomever wants to truly enjoy the whole San Miguel De Allende experience.
This folk art filled room features colorful Amate bark paintings from the Nahua people in the state of Guerrero. King bed with Private bath.
Colorful beaded artworks and intricate yarn art from the Huichol people of Western-Central Mexico enhance this festive room. King bed with pivate bath.
