Holiday Stay

4.8 on December 02, 2017

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday and were thankful for the refuge from a hectic family schedule. My daughter lives not far away but was overcrowded for Thanksgiving. The decor here is 1940s farm house and fun.(a chicken theme) Sonya, with her husband, made us feel like family immediately. Her breakfasts were wonderfully filling, original and fun. There was a great chicken sausage dish and she got up early to make everything. Sonya was there with whatever we needed anytime we asked. If we had need, we would certainly stay here again and highly recommend the Chicken Coop to anyone else. It is an easy drive into Athens to do whatever one wants as well as very scenic.

Worth Crowing About!!

5 on October 03, 2017

My husband and I had to evacuate from Hurricane Irma and we decided to head to Georgia. After much time on the computer we needed to find one more day and night stay because all the hotels were booked. We decided to check out some bed and breakfast places. We saw the Chicken Coop and after reading the reviews we called for a reservation. Sonja told us she had room for us. We got there and were welcomed with open arms. They made us feel right at home and we had a very nice little lace to stay. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and we had the opportunity to meet and spend time with another family from Miami that were also uprooted because of the hurricane. After we left we also got a call from Sonja to ask if we had gotten home safely and were things ok. We truly felt blessed to have met Sonya and Norman and we will always appreciate their hospitality. Blessed at the coop

4.0 on April 29, 2017

While looking for a bed and breakfast, I came across the chicken coop and it sounded like a nice place to stay. We were greeted by a lovely couple that made our stay very comfortable and pleasent. The breakfast were delicious and their company as well a blessing. We would like to plan to stay when we return to Georgia to buy our vehicles. Thank you Sonja and Norm, God bless you.

A Special Stay

5 on April 29, 2017

Our special stay included 2 overnight guests at The Chicken Coop and then 9 more guests joining them for brunch the next morning. The occasion was a family bridal shower and the Armours' hospitality and attention to details at The Chicken Coop helped make this a wonderful event. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was charming. The multitude of cute chicken nick-knacks were fun to look at and spotlessly clean as was the whole house.

Warm and cozy. You'll feel like you are home with family!

Was in town to see a concert in Athens, and can't say enough about the warmth and hospitality you will experience with Sonya and Norman's which reminds you of being at grandma and grandpa''s house. The accommodations are spacious, clean, super cozy, and the homemade breakfasts' will make you want to return again and again. Sonya and Norman go above and beyond with their guests and you feel just like family. Can't wait to go back for absolutely no other reason than to relax and enjoy the wonderful cozy accommodations, and great conversation with the sweetest people you will ever meet!

Innkeeper Response
When we told our friends over 5 years ago that we were going to open a bed and breakfast, they thought we were crazy: Our house was not B&B quality, too much hard work, dangerous to have strangers in your home, & last of all; Who will come to Crawford, GA and why? Being sure this was God's leadership and our ministry, we plowed ahead. &, oh what a joy it has been. He has sent the most loving, interesting people our way. And instead of being a blessing, we are constantly amazed at His provision and His blessings to us. Thanks for all your kind words. What you experience here is God's presence, and what more could anyone want? I praise and thank Him for the Coop and all the guests He sends our way. May His richest blessing fall on you and yours in great abundance.

Our stop before the mountains!

5 on September 17, 2016

My husband and I were traveling to Northern South Carolina to do some hiking and needed a stop before reaching our final destination. What a pleasure it was to stay at the Chicken Coop! Sonja and Norman were very gracious hosts, After a delicious dessert treat and coffee when we arrived late in the afternoon, Sonja took us on a short tour of the property so we could take photos. We then relaxed on the porch with our guests and talked about everything! The next morning our breakfast could not have been more perfect, cudos on that chicken!! Sonya, I promise to send you my film photo of you on the porch when we get them developed. Thanks again! Mary and Eduardo Paris

A Perfect Weekend!

5 on May 15, 2016

We were in town for our son's graduation at UGA and had the pleasure of staying with Sonja and Norman at the Chicken Coop. It could not have been a more perfect place! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. An added surprise was the fresh strawberry desserts waiting on us when we arrived. Being in a hurry, I had mine for a late midnight snack. The next morning we awoke to a delicious breakfast that included homemade biscuits and preserves, and the best chicken we have ever eaten! Even better than the rooms and food was the warmth and friendliness received from Sonja and Norman. They made us feel right at home. We were so very blessed to have stayed here. It just made an already "Special" and memorable weekend that much more special and memorable! We can't wait to return for another stay!

Innkeeper Response
It was a pleasure roosting your family last weekend. You were so sweet and loving to each other. All of you were patient and kind and never in such a big hurry. You were truly a blessing to someone like me who is always in a hurry and impatient when things don't go my way. It's amazing the people the Lord sends our way and how much we learn from others. May He continue to use your family as you follow Him. God bless you all! (Looking forward to having you back.)

Outstanding!

5 on March 24, 2016

Sonja and Norman received us like family! Just got better after we arrived! Moved into our most comfortable and inviting rooms and then opted to have our afternoon treat after our evening meal. They suggested a local restaurant for supper. Good advice! Came back and ate our delicious cobbler, brushed our teeth and then attended the Historical Oglethorpe monthly meeting in Lexington, just two miles down the road. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed the best breakfast ever! Hated to leave, but we will be back! Wish Historical Oglethorpe would meet every week!

Innkeeper Response
