A great place with good access to Battlesite and Gettysburg as a town was interesting with lots of small shops and r4estaurants and winerys. We had 2 nights at the Brickhouse Inn which allowed us one full day for the Battlesite. Would certainly recommend this B & B.
My husband and I spent our 34 wedding anniversary at the Hillbrook Inn and Spa. It was truly a memorable experience that we hope to enjoy again in the future. We loved the charm and history of the main Inn and had the most delicious breakfasts there in their beautiful antique filled dining room. We also really enjoyed the five course dinner with wine pairings. What an intimate dining experience to be the only couple in the dining room being attended by our very gracious waiter, José. My husband and I both agreed, this was one of the most amazing dinners we've ever had. We stayed in the Summer cottage, which was lovely and had a wonderful 2 person shower and Jacuzzi tub. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of each morning but it was only the temptation of the amazing breakfast that was awaiting us that made us get up. We are hoping to check out some of the other cottages with a view of the lovely expansive grounds which we enjoyed walking and encountering the goose and ducks, not to mention a few deer that wandered around in the evening. I also indulged in not only a very relaxing message at the well appointed spa, but one that was very therapeutic and helped to relieve my shoulder pain under the very knowledgeable hands of their massage therapist. When not relaxing and enjoying all that the Inn had to offer, my husband and I enjoyed the beauty of the Charlestown countryside, the Hollywood Casino and race track and Harper's Ferry so there was plenty to do elsewhere. All in all, the beauty and serenity of the Hillbrook Inn helped to recharge our batteries and left us looking forward to making more memories there again.
Our third time staying at the Hillbrook Inn. As always, The staff, service & meals were spectacular. Although this has become our Fall getaway spot the Inn is a perfect place to enjoy and relax at year-round.
Nice rooms, nice grounds and parking, nice amenities, and very pleasant and helpful owners and staff. Additionally, the location is outstanding and very convenient to everything in Gettysburg that you might want to see or do.
Recently stayed at the Brockhouse Inn during a one night stopover as we were passing through. Everything about our stay was outstanding and we will be staying here for a more extended vacation on our next visit to Gettysburg. The inn is beautifully decorated and well maintained. We stayed in the Carriage House room and enjoyed the peaceful privacy that this lovely room offered. Its convenience to parking was appreciated especially when dealing with luggage. It also looked out on the garden which is beautifully landscaped and a wonderful place to relax. Breakfast and snacks were to die for and everyone we encountered including the owner, innkeeper and kitchen staff were friendly, accommodating and very helpful answering all of our questions. A++ from Steve and Debbie Frey, Punta Gorda, FL
Excellent getaway. The 5 course meal was spectacular. Chef and servers were amazing. Beautiful historic grounds and breakfast is amazing too!!! Rooms are all unique and very nice.
Lovely place to stay! Well-appointed and immaculately clean. Hosts were friendly, gracious and helpful. Delicious breakfasts and afternoon treats. Lovely backyard garden for afternoon tea, wine or reading.Great location.
I'am a SAHM and went to HB inn alone in Sep for one week. I needed the "alone time" badly and this place was wonderful. Very quiet and restful. The grounds, the room, the food (scrumptious!) and the spa service made the experience unforgettable. However, I would like to point out that plenty of other places are equally beautiful but HB Inn stands out because of its employees- Everyone there was very friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. The people who work there is really what made my little vacation wonderful.
If you are visiting Gettysburg or the surrounding area, the Brickhouse Inn is truly the place to stay. Brian and Tessa are gracious innkeepers/hosts. The grounds are magnificent, the rooms clean and tastefully decorated, and the breakfast is delicious. The Inn is located perfectly - we walk to most places of interest or arrive via vehicle within 5 minutes. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We annually visit Gettysburg and have stayed here the last 2 years. We look forward to staying here again and again.
The hosts and staff were friendly and chatty. The breakfasts were imaginative and tasty. The room was 'as advertised.' The B&B is centrally located in Gettysburg. All in all a great place to alight while visiting or touring the Gettysburg National Battlefield, Gettysburg College, the Lutheran Seminary or the Seminary Ridge Museum.
This was the first time we ever stayed in a Bed & Breakfast, but it certainly will not be the last! After a warm welcome at the Brickhouse Inn, we were escorted to our room in the Welty House. We stayed in the Georgia Room. The room was charming, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The room had a balcony that overlooked the garden where breakfast was served. Breakfast was a delicious 3 course meal. The location was very convenient to many shops, restaurants, and historical sites. We will definitely stay again!
My wife and I needed a night away from the kids. We got more than we could have asked for! The wine tour, the five course meal, the awesome room, and the beauty of the area. Put an awesome staff on the top and you have a great get away. Recommend Hillbrook to any and everyone!
Beautiful historic inn with a ton of character and charm. The 5 course meal was perfect. The chef is allowed to use creativity and he creates a masterpiece of a meal!! All of the staff was fantastic.
We booked a mid-week stay at Hillbrook Inn & Spa and were excited to be in the Charles Town area. We stayed at the Farmhouse property and had a great second floor suite ... great king bed with ensuite bath and a connected sitting room that also had a fold out sleeper/sofa. We opted to have breakfast each day at the main house ... excellent breakfast each day (we ate at 9:45 AM each day). We booked dinner at Redbook (on property) and had an outstanding five-course dinner. We opted to pick our own wine but wine pairing is available. Our entire stay was great. In particular, we felt that the staff was outstanding from the manage who talked to us each day at breakfast to the wait staff and the great skills of the chef. You need to experience this B&B.
If you visit Gettysburg then this is the place to stay. From the very friendly welcome, the offer of help to organise anything you want to do to the amazing breakfast the experience is so enjoyable from the moment you arrive to the time to leave - which came too quickly for us. The rooms are clean and quaintly furnished although if you book a room on the 3rd floor there is no lift so you will need to carry your cases to your room. This was not an issue for us but could be for some guests. If we return to Gettysburg then this is the place we will stay.
My husband and I recently stayed and had exceptional service! The room was comfortable and spotless and the homemade breakfasts and pastries were delicious! We will definitely be back to the Brick House Inn! - Bob and Shirley
Brickhouse Inn was exceptional. Great location. Innkeepers were very friendly and helpful. Set up a battlefield tour and made helpful recommendations for meals. Room was quiet, clean and breakfast was the best we have had at a B&B. Reasonably priced, we would definitely return
Hillbrook Inn & Spa may now be my favorite country B&B. I've been around the world and throughout the U.S. This place was amazing, the property is breath taking, the buildings and rooms are in excellent condition, the staff is marvelous AND THE FOOD - Wow! We did the four course wine paired dinner, it was incredible. The breakfast was the absolute best I've ever had at a B&B. I'm already planning a return.
We were completely blown away by how beautiful Hillbrook is. We were only there one night and I wish we had been able to stay longer. Great service -- we were upgraded to one of the cottages and had a Jacuzzi in our room! We definitely plan to return.
