We stayed at the home of lovely couple with their attentive dog Arthur! We could not of ask for a more hospitable stay, the breakfast was more than delightful, and with the unbeatable view, better than the 5 star hotels that surrounded us! The bathroom is shared, but was not a problem, and we thoroughly enjoyed our last evening with drinks with our hosts. We definitely stay here again, as we'll most definitely we paying Nice a visit again.

It was our great good fortune to be the guests of Maryse and Camille who provide bed and breakfast accommodation in their apartment on the third floor of a Belle-Epoque villa right on the Promenade, seconds from the beach. Each morning we had breakfast on their terrace with stunning views of the bay as we ate croissants and savoured Maryse’s home-made jams. Each afternoon I’d don swimming trunks, cross the boulevard and go for a dip in the Mediterranean. Maryse made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, making sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is in a perfect location - just round the corner from the Albert stop where bus 98 from the airport calls, five minutes from Place Massena and the tram, and a ten minute walk to the cafes and restaurants of the Old Town. Next door is the Hotel Beau Rivage where, on Christmas Day 1917, Henri Matisse took a room and began his long association with Nice, creating many of his iconic paintings. The room is comfortable, with plenty of wardrobe space for clothes, and sets of towels provided. When we went across the road for a swim, Maryse even provided beach towels. Some travellers might prefer en suite bathroom facilities, but this did not worry us – the shared bathroom was large and elegant, with two washbasins, bath and shower. With their little dog Arthur, Maryse and Camille made us feel at home, entertaining us on the terrace with tapenade and homemade orange wine on our last evening. We will certainly return.

The location of this b&b is fantastic - it is a stone's throw from Old Nice, and you can reach the bus-stop for buses to the Matisse Museum and Chagall Museum in 5-7 minutes. The room was larger than expected, with a great desk. The owners couldn't have cared more about my wellbeing and overall experience. They are incredibly kind and gracious people. Nice is amazing, I definitely plan to return. My stay at Chez Zizou helped to make my trip really enjoyable and memorable.
